Screaming Infants in Public Spaces? Allowed?

Postby Infected Mushroom » Tue Jun 07, 2016 8:07 pm

Infants scream, they can't help it. But parents don't have to bring them outside to disrupt other people at restaurants, public transit, or movie theatres. That is just being irresponsible and selfish. There is no denying that the sound of screaming babies, especially over a sustained time period, is overbearingly obnoxious.

1. Should parents bring screaming infants into public spaces where others are trying to have a good time?

2. If yes, why? If no... should the law do something about it?

Personally, I think there should be a fine imposed on those who don't care about others and bring screaming infants into movie theatres, restaurants, and public transit. Your liberty ends where you are inconveniencing, harming, and disturbing others.

What do you think?

Excute the parent take the child to an orphanarium.

You can if you take responsible steps such as hiring a professional when you both need to be outside, if you can't afford it then maybe the state should subsidise some/all of the costs but that's a separate discussion

we have a collective interest in preventing unnecessary noise pollution. When a screaming infant is in a theatre, everybody else suffers. The law should prevent the exercise of selfishness.

If you can't afford to keep them home, don't have children. Damn breeders.

Or maybe increase Welfare Programs so that parents can afford to hire a sitter, and not need to take the kid wherever they go?

Also, what do you want a family to do with their baby. On vacation, are they supposed to leave their child in a hotel?

But seriously wtf.

I understand the reading comprehension error (look the the enlarged and then re-read your post). There is no situation here where the police are going after infants, the fine isn't levied against them, its against the parents. There is a disconnect between your post and the OP.

Here in Impireacht we execute infants that scream. Maybe that's why we're having such bad underpopulation issues.

Jk xD

except some infants are just completely unreasonable, and the parents should know better than to bring them to a public place where they will cause disruption against other members of the public who have been paying to enjoy certain services such as at restaurants and movie theatres

No one is faulting the infants, its the fault of the parents

I mean yeah probably but it's probably disliking something or it wants it's mommy.

Just calm it down one way or another it's the price for not wearing a condom

except you're inconveniencing others and forcing them to pay the ''price'' for you not wearing one, hence why it shouldn't be allowed because its just selfishness

the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, you need to show consideration for other customers

Well- Fuck it.

I'm just saying that it needs attention and it's the parents responsibility to take care of it

It is their responsibility. And they can take responsible actions without inconveniencing the public at large and other customers.

Still the baby needs them.

What if the parents couldn't afford a nanny? Or they're only 3 people(the parents and the baby)let people just understand that the baby will cry and go with their lives.

If i have to complain on every noise i would report the people who karaoke on some nights and people are trying to sleep

Babies cry, get over it. You cant expect a parent to keep their child at home all the time. They may not have the resources to hire a baby sitter, and they may not want to hire a babysitter. People are put in uncomfortable positions all the time it doesn't mean we try to ban them from ever happening.

Welp, OP must either never have had an infant, or have the money to hire somebody to look after the infant.

If either of these is true, then we probably have already found out the problem.

If it's one thing that is like fingernails on a chalkboard, that is a screaming kid. It absolutely pisses me off to hear a kid wail when I am trying to enjoy my meal or out at the movies with my family. I couldn't stand it when my kids wailed when they were little, and we didn't really go out much when our kids were little and we wouldn't never have subjected others to such an inconvenience. The very limited times we did go out, the minute we sensed an on coming meltdown, one of us would leave with the child until the child calmed down.

We have been out to places where the parent(s) do absolutely nothing and just let the kid cry and fuss and wail, while subjecting others to such a treat as if we are so blessed to hear the lil bastard and we should just deal with it. Fuck that, shut the damn brat up or take the brat out to the car or something.

I don't think a law enforcement is necessary, general public shaming of said parents of screamin' demon is more than enough.
