[PASSED] Repeal "Liberate The Arab League"

Postby The Puddle Jumping Wads of Wrapper » Tue Jun 07, 2016 12:16 pm

Since nothing seemed to be happening with this, and Hatay expressed to me privately that he indeed wants the liberation repealed, I put together this short-and-sweet repeal. Since I have stamps to waste on this puppet, I've promised Hatay that a campaign is forthcoming.

Repeal "Liberate The Arab League"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal | Resolution: SC#198 | Proposed by: Wrapper

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #198: Liberate The Arab League shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: The Security Council:

Pleased that The Arab League, recently liberated by this council, has overcome the invasion by Nazi Europa;

Satisfied that the liberation has accomplished its desired effect, as the threat has subsided and the invading forces ousted;

Yearning for complete control of the region to be returned to native nations, which have expressed a desire to govern their region autonomously and secure their borders as they see fit;

Concluding that this liberation is no longer befitting nor desired;

Hereby repeals SC#198, "Liberate The Arab League".

For the record:

To all WA Delegates:

We are writing today to request your approval of our Security Council proposal to Repeal "Liberate The Arab League".

Perhaps you've heard about the recent invasion of The Arab League by forces from Nazi Europa. Fortunately, the invaders' plans to oppress and obliterate the region were thwarted, due in part to the liberation that was recently passed. Thankfully, the natives are back in control of the region, and their regional delegate, Hatay, has asked the Security Council to repeal this liberation, so that the region may take back control of its own borders and govern itself as its native nations see fit.

We ask that you approve and, when it reaches quorum, vote in favor of this repeal.

Thank you,

No sweat. Completely within your rights to do so, and nothing wrong with it, but about 90% of what's here is OOC.

:blink: I don't think I've ever seen a resolution passing by this much...

Then again, I've only been around for about a year :unsure: (disregard this nation's population.)

My brother's (WA) nation just CTE'd today, so I get to be in the WA now :)

Why are we so quick to repeal? We should stick around a bit. You know, "help rebuild".

There is no reason to do so. The natives have made it clear they want to control their own borders and have asked for a repeal.

The natives may have made it clear. But the natives have just experienced and tumultuous event that has ravaged their country? Whose to say that they aren't vulnerable to another attack for which they won't be completely annihilated? Whose to say civil war doesn't erupt and a power vacuum occurs that allows for the rise of a less "friendly" government. One that wants revenge and reignites a conflict. We'll be forced to make more resolutions to try and stabilize a region. Plus, we should be sending a message that this alliance isn't free and comes with a price.

The natives say so. I trust them with knowing how best to run their own region.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is the biggest margin of passage for any WA proposal, GA or SC, at 94.2%. Infectious Disease Control had around 93.5% percent.

There was literally no reason to vote against it, and it was not poorly written. Good combination.
