Things were just starting to go as planned when bad news struck like it was apt to do. Sarah had jumped on ahead to a nice spot for overwatch and not a minute after had reported that the police had just stormed the auxiliary building. Actually, it was one officer, in riot gear, and like some cheesy action flick the man seemed armed and ready to take on a warehouse of thugs single handedly. For once Maria wished that things would go as intended.
Pinching at the bridge of her nose, Maria said, with irritation staining her words, “Change of plans. Get to the warehouse, now, and find a way in that doesn’t draw too much attention. We need to move fast before any more surprises come our way. I’ll catch up with you guys when I can. And keep your heads down.”
A quick glance to make sure that no cars were coming and Bloody Mary sprinted the distance across the road and to the auxiliary building, offering only a passing glance to the unconscious men inside. Sarah reported where the lone officer had gone and was quickly told to join the others (who by now should have crossed the street). They would find several side doors leading into the building, and even some windows and vents on the upper walls that could be used for a quiet entrance. Bloody Mary, on her end, snuck around to find the riot officer looking for his own way inside. Raising her handgun she took aim at the man’s center of mass and called out to him in a voice that was loud enough to be heard but not enough to alert anyone that didn’t need alerting.
“Stop right there.” The man, whether in shock or compliance, did as told and Maria took several steps closer. “I’m not letting you get in our way, so you better leave while you still can. Try anything and this gun will be the least of your worries. Now, turn around.”
Miranda “Network” Tallow
the Bunker, SoDo, Seattle, WA
Miranda had taken notice of the news reports as soon as they had come in. An explosion at a certain apartment block. Maybe it was nothing, but Miranda could only assume that whatever chemistry set Lucia had in his kitchen had finally gotten the best of him. Police would likely write it off as a chem lab gone bad. No need to get involved. At least, that was until Lucio himself had stumbled into the warehouse above, the cameras picking up that he was indeed injured. He made it all the way to the elevator before collapsing.
Said elevator opened a few moments later, an apathetic Miranda staring down at the unconscious Lucio with a mixed look of curiosity and disbelief, though the emotion was subtle enough to be unnoticeable. Sighing, she did her best to drag the man into the Bunker without getting blood onto her good clothes, managing to get the man into the rotunda with only minimum stainage. She then went to find a spare chair that could be used to wheel the injured man further in, ignoring the cries of Mike Cross as he asked for a bathroom break from where he was still tied up – Maria and the others would figure out what to do with him later. A few minutes later and Lucia was rolled into a room that was slightly larger than the bedrooms, this one having a cot and a closet of medical supplies. Not that Miranda was a nursing major but she was able to stop the bleeding well enough. While this was happening the girl had sent the Benefactor a message (using her phone without having to touch it) and was waiting for a reply. Going to the hospital was maybe not the best of choices, and while a private doctor could be brought in it would create an unneeded security risk. Then again outside sources had been worked with when getting the Bunker up and functioning.
With nothing else to do the girl sat in a nearby chair to the cot Lucio was on and wasted her time with her phone. Hopefully the injured man would wake up soon or the Benefactor would get ahold of her.

Sarah had thought, going in, that there would be some changes and that some details of the day would have to be improvised, but the introduction of an entirely new variable, the cop, was changing things too much, too fast. Sarah kept moving. A short series of pinpoint jumps around the warehouse gave her a good overview of the possible entrances and exits. Sarah felt a twinge in her gut.
Flickering around the exterior of the building from a safe distance for a few more seconds, occasionally making closer jumps where a safe and inconspicuous opening could be found, Sarah felt she had the site well reconnoitred.
‘Where the hell are the others?’ she leapt from spot to spot, trying to ascertain Leonid’s position. Bloody Mary would be dealing with the interloper, but Leonid was nowhere to be found.
‘I need to find out what that guy’s deal is’ Sarah thought, realizing she still didn’t know what most of her team mates powers were.
Sarah leapt back to Bloody Mary’s position, appearing just out of the Cops sight. In her head, Sarah congratulated herself on the landing; ‘Nice, very ominous.’
“I can’t find Le-…Mr. Shadow-” she reported, just as she saw Leonid; “Never mind, didn’t you hear the boss lady? I can’t crack this place on my own.”

To say that Maria was taken aback would be a slight understatement. The man, whoever he was, which was to say he most definitely was not SPD, seemed intent on breaking up some illegal drug ring and was staging a one man assault on the Syndicate warehouse. Either he was extremely brave or extremely stupid, but likely he was full of himself and would end up killed. The Syndicate, from what little Maria knew of them, didn’t take well to whack jobs interfering with their business. Even if the man somehow managed to take down this particular warehouse he would likely be dead by the week. Klein was only alive because he had information. The man in the riot gear most likely had nothing of use to the Syndicate and once he had crossed them would simply be put down. Maria was almost tempted to do the job for them. His antics could have ruined everything, and if they lost Klein because of this bastard then Maria would take great pleasure in turning his arteries inside out starting from the feet and working her way up. He’d wish the Syndicate had been the one to catch him.
But that was what if, and until they knew for sure they had to go on as if nothing had changed. As for the man, well, Maria just couldn’t allow him to run off and make trouble.
“I could have stopped you a hundred times by now,” Bloody Mary spat, her sour mood reflected on her painted face. Unlike the man and his gear she was very casual in appearance with only a hoodie and some cargo pants. Her boots were leather, like his, but had seen a lifetime’s worth of chaos if the scuffs were anything to go off on. “And I don’t care what you think you’re doing, which is stupid by the way, but if you don’t do as I tell you then you’re gonna regret it. Now, drop everything you’ve got and we can go from there, but try anything or so much as look at me wrong and the Syndicate will be the least of your worries.”
Having the man scream in whatever agony she caused would be very bad for their stealthy approach. Maria would need to do this quietly. Bursting a random artery was easy enough, but being specific took some concentration, but given a few more moments and she’d be in a position to cause a coronary. Heart attacks were quiet, right?
HOA “BLAKE” NZUYEN
Syndicate Warehouse, Downtown, Seattle, WA
Blake had practically led the others to the warehouse, sprinting across the street and the rusted train tracks running parallel before throwing her back against the white painted wall in a spot that would make her difficult to see should any cars pass by. She was breathing hard, having put maybe too much effort into her run, but the adrenaline was starting to kick in and, against what would be the better judgement, the young woman was ready to tackle head on whatever physical exertion would be demanded of her. Someone with more skill in this sort of affair led them along the tracks to where the loading bays were. A train car sitting on the tracks offered some behind them but they would be exposed entirely to anyone driving the opposite direction. Luckily there was no traffic to be seen.
The door was locked, which was to be expected, and by the slight rattle there was a chain on the other side. Zedekiah couldn’t help this time around. The solution came after a moment of deliberation when Blake took it upon herself to find a way in. Having seen this before in a TV show, she made her way to the roof – using her powers again to seemingly float up – and found that there was an open vent of sorts leading into the building. Prying it open, the woman managed to squeeze through and dropped down on the other side of the door. There was no one in sight, but screams of pain could be heard deeper inside. Wasting no time she undid the door and allowed the others inside.
They were in the back bay. The floor was open and quite likely they could be seen by whoever was inside had several crates not been stacked high so as to form an artificial wall. It was a good thing as Blake hadn’t checked her surroundings before dropping in.
“Do we have a plan?” Blake asked to anyone who could hear her. A simple charge ahead could catch whoever was inside by surprise, but depending on how many and if they were armed, which they most likely were, there was a high chance that such a plan would end with them being shot, and Blake wasn’t immune to bullets. No one was for that matter.

Miranda glanced up from her cell phone as the man went through some kind of fit. Maybe he was expiring? Not much she could do if he was. Then, rather comically, Lucio bolted upright with his fists raised to fight, as if he expected someone other than the fragile looking girl sitting in the corner of the room. After a moment he managed to take stock of the situation and lowered his guard. “Where am I?” he asked more to himself than to her before rambling on about his head and hammers.
“Was it?” Miranda asked rather dully in regards to the hammers. “And no, no one followed you here. I would know.” She checked the security cameras again just to be sure, though to Lucio it would look as if she had done nothing but blink a few times.
The cameras were clear.
As for the other question, Miranda quickly pulled up the news reports trickling in on her phone, showing them to Lucio before realizing that she was too far away and moving closer. An explosion had very nearly leveled the entire apartment block. The police weren’t saying much else but had confirmed that at least five bodies had been found and many more were being taken to the nearest hospital for injuries ranging from mild to basically dead.
“I take it this is your doing? And I’ll be needing a new shirt.” Hers was covered in splotches of blood.

Her eyes darted to the cop and back. “The others ought to be making a move about now; we need all hands on deck. Are you coming?”
The Policeman began posturing. His words, Sarah thought, were bold for someone laying down his gun, but then it had been a strange couple of days. A little counter-posturing might not be a bad idea.
Looking directly at him, Sarah flickered, deliberately making a series of pinpoint jumps only an inch or two apart from where she stood. It was a trick she had practiced in front of her camera at home. Sarah thought it looked cool, maybe a little menacing, like television static in person.
“I’ll see you up there.” She said, before jumping away and radioing Shaden, asking for a sitrep.
