Male Skirts Becoming Acceptable.

Postby Samurkhan » Sat Feb 20, 2010 11:14 am

A good day for men! Finally, we can give up constraining trousers, dealing with zippers to use the bathroom, and feel the breeze beneath our skirts.

While many cultures - Scots, Greeks, Maori and many, many others - have understood for a long time that men too can wear dresses, finally America is throwing its stuffy victorian ways to the wind...

We know have pleated skirts advertised for males!

That's simply a stupidly expensive mini-kilt.

Hardly a new invention.

EDIT: There was a brief fashion for wearing kilts casually a few years back. Vin Diesel wore a leather number, IIRC.

Which, oddly enough, would make wearing a skirt incredibly uncomfortable and somewhat irrational.

A little too expensive for my tastes. I'd rather just wrap a towel around me or something.

I'm not wired in such a way to find something like that aesthetically pleasing on a man, sorry.

My male next-door neighbor wears ankle length skirts on a regular basis. I imagine they are much cheaper as well.

Yes, it is all a little absurd...

I think men who'd like to wear skirts can find a much nicer bargain. There seems to be no difference between that male mini-skirt and any other mini-skirt. The fashion world was just lacking innovation this time 'round.

Young Ewan shows us the proper length for a kilt.

Done that before.

Admittedly, I'd run out of trousers and wouldn't have left the house whilst wearing a belted beach towel with a delightful picture of a teddy bear on it...

Pardon me if this is a stupid question, but couldn't they just wear kilts? Or women's skirts (of the appropriate size, obviously)?

Because they're trying to make money by creating a new product.

...duh.

Fashion designers have been doing this for years, flogging crappy, over-expensive (mini)kilts as some sort of male emancipation.

And it's not as if you can even wear the mini-kilt properly, i.e., with nothing else on underneath.

Well yeah, obviously, but I meant for those who want to wear skirts and can see through the marketing ploy.

They already have stuff they can wear, basically.
