[DEFEATED] Condemn Caelapes

Postby Thomas Branson III » Sat Apr 02, 2016 5:59 pm

What if we condemn the winner of this years NS April fools joke? I think it would me fitting since the Election is for the World Assembly's Secretary General.

Description: RECOGNIZING over half of the World Assembly's member states voted against Caelapes in the World Assembly Secretary-General election;

APPALLED that Caelapes intends to force Communism on this World Assembly, Hence destroying the democratic process that drives the very ideals of this World Assembly;

HOPING that the democratic process will not fail us in the future and that after this condemnation Caelapes Will fulfill their duties as Secretary General;

HEREBY the World Assembly Condemns the Secretary-General The People's Secretary-General of Caelapes

We endorse this idea.

This shows that democracy is working and rewards the people who take part in it.

No. No. Not a chance. If you submit this I will actively campaign against it to stop this tripe from getting to quorum.

I know you want credit for your half-implemented idea, Bitely, but this still isn't more than an April Fools' joke. Stop making it out to be more than it is.

No. Hell no. We shouldn't commend people for winning in a joke game.

It's a joke, but it's become more than that. The nations involved certainly all had to canvas for support, and Kaalmi came out of nowhere, so his rise is particularly amazing and commendable.

Kaalmi is in fourth place, and Idi Amin kind of destroys anything good about his campaign.

Yes, I would agree.

I'm planning on submitting this once a candidate wins the election. Any ideas for improving the proposal are welcome.

It won't pass Bitely. Just listen for one and save your stamp money for something more worthwhile.

Not badge hunting. That would be good. Maybe personalize it based on the individual's actual accomplishments. Also, let me remind you that I came in 5th place in this election: winning does not correlate to commendation worthy.

Perhaps, but then thank about how great the repeal could be? It would kinda be like an impeachment.

Support the idea of condemnations, but Caelapes has done a lot more to earn it then just win the election.

OOC: Thank for making this thread btw , it's always nice to know who's commenting on drafts without reading them.

Bitely, this is a ridiculous reason for condemning someone. Literally the only thing you're accusing him of doing is winning a game that could be won. Of all the things that you've done, this is possibly one of the least justified.
And yes, I would be saying this if someone attempted to condemn a winner who wasn't Caelapes.

Caelapes whole campaign was based on the promise of forcing communism on the World Assembly.
Note his campaign promise:

1. Decentralize the Secretariat!

Power for the Secretary-General? No! Power to the people!

Caelapes will devolve Secretariat power to local regional soviets and workers' councils! Say no to candidates who want only power for themselves, without fighting for the voice of all nations!

2. Eliminate Super-Delegates!

World Assembly resolutions are decided by the top 1% of endorsement-holders, disenfranchising thousands of nations!

Caelapes will give equal nations equal votes! Let each nation's vote have worth! End the practice of refusing to acknowledge nations' voice—let all nations be involved in World Assembly decisions!

3. No mods, no masters!

Corrupt site administrators and moderators have thrown their weight behind establishment puppet-candidates who want to make decisions without your input!

Caelapes will be a statesman of the people! Down with oppressive deep-state oligarchs and their meatbag puppets! Uphold worker control of NationStates! Get the octopus-tentacle hands of these marionetteers out of our regions!

That sounds condemnable to me.

Not actually a good reason to condemn someone. This terrible proposal is, however, amusing.

Goddamnit Bitely. You purchased another quorate resolution. Good for you.
