Condemn Kknight

A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Category: Condemnation | Nominee: KKnight | Proposed by: Zhafu Cao

Description: THE SECURITY COUNCIL:

OBSERVING Kknight's present tenure as General of DEN, currently the largest invader organization on NationStates. Following the disbandment of The Black Riders, Kknight, along with old raiders including A Million Voices and Scooby-Doo, assisted in the rebuilding of DEN and the overseeing of countless operations such as persistent "tag-raiding" and the occupations of Paradoxia, Power is Rising, Japan, St Abbaddon, and Portugal;

RECALLING Kknight's 16 month career as Chief of the General Staff of The Black Riders, a region previously condemned by the esteemed Security Council for popularizing a form of raiding known as "tagging" and for executing heinous invasions, occupations, and/or refounds on innocent regions and communities including Ixnay, Anarchy, Planet X, The Silver Isles, The Mountains to the East, and Atheist Empire;

RECOGNIZING Kknight's contribution to the proliferation of "tag-raiding" as it is today, including record-breaking update raids, such as Operation Cancer Slayer, which have been forever immortalized in the Codex Incursus to be seen as a source of "inspiration" and propaganda for later generations of raiders;

DESPISING Kknight's involvement in many infamous invader organizations, present and past, over the past 14 years, including The Imperial Legion of Unknown and the various historical incarnations of DEN, serving as one of its commanders on more than one occasion;

BELIEVING that the actions of Kknight have proven extremely detrimental to the overall stability of NationStates through the destruction of innocent communities, and that this despicable ideology must be stopped;

HEREBY CONDEMNS Kknight.

A project that began with the mentor of my former mentor and something my Lord has asked me to finish what he started.

Thank you in advance for your comments and criticism.

Unless you and Amir Mercado are the same person then this is plagiarism.

As I already said, my Lord Mercado has asked me to finish what he started. He is the mentor of my former mentor, his Majesty Niklas I, and has grown frail in recent days. Lord Mercado retired from the Exterior Ministry quite some time ago after a foreign affairs career of great distinction. However, I can assure you that I have plenty of experience in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and am in the process of translating said experience abroad.

As Stalker Queen said your proposal is plagiarised. If you submit this then it will be pulled by the Secretariat as being illegal. Submitting a plagiarised proposal will also get you booted from the WA.

I would advise dropping this.

Hello,

I have been told my His Majesty to make an appearance here to verify the authenticity of Minister Cao's public statements. Royal duties in the Vorteil court have indeed taken a toll on my health, and this was even after I retired from the Exterior Ministry to join the council of His Majesty. I was also the one to tell Minister Cao to take over my project in the World Assembly, as I have neither the time nor the energy to see it through. I am currently on vacation in the Swiss Alps in the Viceroyalty of Europe, so do not hesitate to contact Minister Cao in regards to WA affairs and diplomacy, as I can assure you that he is an experienced official and a good friend of mine.

Good day.

Plagiarism:
Plagiarism applies not just to copying an entire proposal, but also to lifting individual clauses from other proposals. Plagiarising the framework of another proposal is generally not a good idea either, and will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Unless you and him are the same player, then it's still plagiarism by definition of the rules.
It's up to a mod now.

Plagiarism or not, draft itself seems pretty good.

Old Chief really deserves his badge for his good deed's for the raiders cause.

Special, personal thanks from me for his participation to the pioneering work for so called tag raiding. o7

I feel like it could need some bulking up before submission, but I have faith it will pass.

In my opinion, even if they're relevant to the proposal at hand, linking them grants validation and more exposure - something we're attempting to avoid. I only link regions the first time they appear and the subject of proposal.

I'm sorry, could you clarify?

That is true. "Service" is geared more toward what he has done for his own community... do you have a suggestion?

If my research is accurate, that is the name of the significant operation described above.

To each his own I guess. :)
I'm sorry, could you clarify?

You accidentally capitalized one of the "i"s in Power is Rising (Power is RIsing). Just a typo.
That is true. "Service" is geared more toward what he has done for his own community... do you have a suggestion?

"Career", "Tenure", "Office", "Term"... I think term would fit the best in context.
Still wavering on this bit as before, but we'll see.

To each his own I... wait, didn't I already say that?
If my research is accurate, that is the name of the significant operation described above.

Including the name of the operation isn't entirely necessary imo. It's like listing a bunch of evil things about someone, then saying "they love puppies." Doesn't make up for the other stuff, but doesn't exactly help you case.
Again, thank you for your comments. You mentioned that the proposal needs some more "bulking up" before its submission - do you have any more suggestions?

To be entirely honest, I can't think of anything else. I feel as if it's missing something, but I can't quite put my finger on what it could be. :oops:

You could throw Anarchy in there as well, either in the first or second clauses. The TBR occupation lasted longer though, so I'd put it in the second clause.
RECOGNIZING Kknight's contribution to the proliferation of "tag-raiding" as it is today, including record-breaking update raids, such as Operation Cancer Slayer, which have been forever immortalized in the Codex Incursus to be seen as a source of "inspiration" and propaganda for later generations of raiders;

You could probably note the number of targets hit in OCS.
DESPISING Kknight's involvement in many infamous invader organizations, present and past, over the past 14 years, including The Imperial Legion of Unknown and the various historical incarnations of DEN, serving as one of its commanders on more than one occasion;

BELIEVING that the actions of Kknight have promoted the invader cause far more than most underlings can dream and have proven extremely detrimental to the overall stability of NationStates, and that this despicable ideology must be stopped;

Personally, I think focusing on the opinions of Natives would be better than the opinions of "underlings". Using natives' or defenders' point of view here helps express a feeling of horror towards Kknight's actions, while a use of raiders' pov expresses a feeling of... gratitude? That's not the word I'm thinking of, but I think you get my point.

Otherwise, I'm satisfied. Unless anyone else feels like voicing some concerns, I'd say this is about ready to go.

Hello all,

My deputy has given me the idea of drafting condemnations for a few other infamous players. My only misgiving is that the structure of such drafts would look remarkably similar to this one, despite containing different content. What is the SC's view on such "unoriginal" proposals?

It depends on HOW similar. Most resolutions follow a similar format, but if it is too similar there will be a problem.

ENOUGH!!

Postby The Confederacy of the Republic » Sat Mar 26, 2016 11:36 pm

Please, enough with these pointless, frivolous condemnations. DEN has shown nothing but qualities of the dominant side of NATURAL SELECTION. KKnight shouldn't be condemned because he plays regional politics very well, and perhaps should be commended because of his contributions to the game as a General of DEN.

If by "Natural Selection," you mean ability to trigger massive one-sided, script-kiddyish raids against folks with no defenses because the game is rigged that way, then, well...

What does that have to do with natural selection? Granted, I'm not agreeing with CotR's assessment of things, but the fact that DEN can pile doesn't really disprove his claim.

If everyone played nice, and peacefully, there would be no point of logging on to a government simulation. The question is, WHY CONDEMN A PLAYER FOR PLAYING THE GAME?! I now understand why people think the WA is wasteful and frivolous. Maybe, we should be voting on liberating the conquered regions. I, of course, expect the bleeding heart delegates to join in and HELP liberate these regions.

Actually, that's your game, not ours. I'm not here to be farmed by raiders so DotA kids can get their jollies. Sad that you can't see there's other reasons to play. If I wanted to play your kind of game, there's fifty or so rather well known games where what all y'all do is considered "playing the game." Here, it is supposed to be a possibility, not a daily occurrence.

Frankly, though, I begin to have doubts about NS, as a site that encourages (by not discouraging) what amounts to institutionally approved IP tampering, and foments a faux "Haxxor-1337" culture, which daily launches cyber attacks (very similar to DDOS) against other players...
