Ok, so we have swastikas and nudity currently deemed inappropriate on Nationstates. I must wonder if the Islamic State flag should be considered inappropriate by NS. Need I say more? This barbaric cult is responsible for some of the most horrifying acts ever seen in recent decades, burning people in cages, dragging people from cars on concrete, throwing gay men off buildings, running over men with tanks, and of course beheadings. Why isn't this deemed inappropriate just like the swastika (though I don't think it should due to historic symbolism) and nudity? This fucking cult is a scar on human history, just like the national socialists and the communists. Hell, even the nazis weren't as barbaric and twisted like these inhumane creatures.

Personally, I don't think any symbols should be banned, as they are just pictures first and foremost, and people's personal feelings shouldn't dictate what is free speech.

Compared to the number who died under the Soviet sickle and hammer, the Islamic terrorist death toll is actually fairly low.

Personally, I don't really support banning political symbols, but I understand why its done. That said, keep the ISIL flag unbanned. Freedom to express your opinions and all that.

It should be in my view, but it isn't. I presume the main reason why the Nazi flag is banned asides from the website's owner being dead set against it, is the fact that allowing for it could cause this website legal issues in certain European countries which don't completely respect all political expression. It might get this domain blacklisted in different European countries like Germany where most displays of the Nazi flag are illegal, even in video games.

So it is simply banned because this website definitely wants traffic from Europe in general and certainly isn't willing to jeopardize that just so the Nazi flag can be displayed.

If you want the ISIS flag to be banned, I think it is going to take overseas governments actually legislating against it, just as they have with regards to Nazism before this website will actually move to ban it. The ISIS flag currently presents no legal issues, so it isn't yet too troublesome to keep around. That is what is the likely case.
