Columbia's Vengeance: (Dead Thread/MT)

[Cobb Island]

The United States of Columbia was ruined by civil war.

Then it was invaded by foreign armies, then it was invaded again. Overall it lost about a third of its territory to foreign invaders.

This became known as the great humiliation.

Many months later, the German occupiers abandoned their gains as they reeled under the pressure of rebellion and war elsewhere. Slowly but surely, the great Columbian Empire regained its lands.

Now the people of the USC demand vengeance.

Preparations are being made for a massive counter invasion of an enemy's homeland. Or maybe even just a weaker nation that deserves it.

1. I'll serve as Role Play master.
2. Humans with Modern tech only. (Ignore the future tech stuff from simmering ashes)
3. No WMD.
4. When war breaks out, I'll implement new rules. There will be a score system to determine a victor, with rp influencing the score.
5. No invading Columbia right off the bat before they can invade someone.. That would defeat the purpose of this thread!

Drakodia Nerodanus, Palace of the Tsars.

A large, rather fat bald man with small round glasses ran through a tight hallway, screaming at people to get out of his way as he ran to meet with Joshua Zhukov, the supreme leader of Nerodanus. He pushed the door to Joshuas office open with a huff, his physique was not meant for all the running he has done. Sweat falling down his large head he spoke between breaths. "Joshua Zhukov, a message from the department of external affairs has notified us that Columbia is building another Empire. I say this because of our limited interference during the civil war and beginning interference during the previous invasions of it. The department wishes to know what you wish to do about this." He finally collapsed down, taking in all the air he could. Joshua, who was a tall, muscular, pale man with black hair, brown eyes and facial hair from a week of not shaving simply handed him a glass of water. "When you... manage to recover please just send a text to the department telling them I wish to support Columbia. And next time just send me a message or something dont have a heart attack on me comrade." Joshua laughed a little before the large man got up and left nervously.

If anyone still remembers Nerodanus was once an ally of Columbia during its civil war. Now that Columbia is returning to the international playground Nerodanus would like to offer support to the newly arisen state. This can come from medical, military, educational or even money loans to help get the country going. Nerodanus hopes for cooperation between the two states.

[New United States of Columbia]

President Hancock (After a successful alliance vote in favor of returning to an Armed Republic) looked at the reports coming in from the United States Armed Forces (Informally and improperly called the Columbian Armed Forces). The troops and volunteers for the counter invasion were massive with so many volunteering that the military was running out of jobs and uniforms to hand out. The sales of Columbian patriotic equipment (Flags, Banners, Buntings, Patriotic Song Books, etc.) soured through the roof. Stocks in Vault-tec, Coverga (A Nationalistic car company), and Colt soured through the roof. With the promise of returning Columbian greatness Hancock won a landslide so well that there might as well have been no competitor. Foley reluctantly gave up the throne and turned the Royal Palace in Omaha into the seat of government power in Washington D.C. (After it was torn down and transferred to the rebuilt city). Now he was being faced with multiple targets of vengeance.
First was New Decius. That cowardly scumbag Foley signed a treaty with the bastards. Well now that Foley was out of power the treaty was null and void. An pointless sheet of paper basically. Oh how those bastards humiliated them in the invasion. Oh how sick those bastards were pretending to be knights in shinning armor perfectly following the rules of war when they were barbarians who should be put down.
Then there were the traitorous serpents called HYDRA. Hancock should've known the commies New Axiom told the truth. Sure he wanted to invade them as well but at least, so far, they were minding their own business. As long as they didn't threaten Columbian interest they could "co exist". For now. But back to HYDRA he should've known they were bad news since they were "allies" of the Monarchists. Foley seemed to make terrible decisions. Like not implementing Safehouse and signing a disgusting treaty seceding parts of the Motherland to the Germans.
Finally there were the two rather minor threats: The United Fascist States of North America and Araiya. Those two threats proved easy to contain when allies were around but were never really fought one on one. But with the surge of War Materials being produced, the surge in Nationalism, and the surge in technology (All regular ballistic firearms were being used by the National Guard and Police while all Energy Weapons were being standard issue to the regular soldiers and marines of the USAF). Now it was only a matter of time of choosing who rather than when.

Just as he finished writing a request for war plans on the targets a beep was heard. He turned and noticed his computer had informed him of an email having been sent to it. It was from the Department of External Affairs from Nerodanius. He read the message and typed up a reply:

If you are reading this then you should know that we accept your assistance in our quest for vengeance against those who wronged our Great Republic. Right now all we request is Educational and Military aid. Educational for our officers to be taught the more "updated" versions of fighting and military for our soon-to-be counter-invasion of our invaders lands.

Anytime there is a conflict just let me know what % of your total military is engaged. I.E. Half or 50% of my military will fight in X conflict.

Oh and one more thing. Modern technology only. Ignore the future tech from simmering ashes. So USC you can talk about "experimental" energy weapons but your main line infantry will still be using solid projectiles.

The same goes for war frames/mechs. You can have a few of them, but don't role play them as being superior to modern armor.

Minister of Foreign Affair Nicole Reeves, Minister of War Dairus Taylor, and Emporer Cyrus Silva sat in the Military High Command Chamber, observing a large satellite map of Columbia. After the Second Colombian War, New Axiom had annexed the territories of the Honduras, and Cuba was still a disputed territory. The three imperial officials in the room were deciding wheather or not to intervene once again. Intel stated the Colombians were mobilizing for a large counter invasion, primarily of New Decius, the United Fascist States of North America, and HYDRA. New Axiom was considering mobilizing elements of the imperial war machine to the Caribbean Sea and the area in and around Honduras, in order to keep their former enemies in check. However, they also saw Columbia as a potential ally against the imperial enemy of New Decius, who had turned on the Empire and her allies in the middle of the war, and this betrayal had marked the end of victory on the Southern Front. The trio of government officials had decided to mobilize a naval strike group to the waters one mile north of the coast of Venezuela. No other militaristic actions were taken, and the official mission of the strike group was 'ensuring security to colonial citizens in Latin America'. However, their real objective was to discreetly monitor the Colombians, but the strike group was also there to ensure the Colombians would not harm imperial citizens.

Joshua Zhukov was silently napping in his chair with his cat whiskers playing silently with a feather on his desk. Whiskers was just a small grey kitten that Joshua randomly found and took in. The message appeared on a screen and the brightness woke him up. Taking a few minutes to fully wake up he looked at the message and responded.

I will send my warships out immediately. It will take approximately a month for them to arrive and at least 3 days to get loaded up with troops. I will have educators travel with them in Civilian Cruise Ships.

Joshua quickly typed up the order for troops and educators to one of his lieutenants to handle, picking up Whiskers and feeding him a small treat as he thought about two sayings in particular. "History repeats itself" and "War never changes". If these are true then the history of Columbia may repeat itself and Nerodanus could end up being sucked into another conflict with them. However he just shrugged it off and stood up with a yawn, setting Whiskers down who ended up climbing up onto his leg, Joshua set off to bed for the night. Perhaps in the morning he will know what best to do with future relations with Columbia.

Today Ronald Epstein, Senator of the District of Britannia in the Kaiserlichen Senat (Imperial Senate), appeared on the steps of the Volkshalle to deliver a message regarding the Columbian National arrested for terrorism charges. Despite being of English descent, Senator Epstein, like all others of the British Isles, is a Germanic at heart. He has appeared on an international broadcast to address the media.

"Firstly a message from the Abwehr whom are stating that this man has no official ties to the German nation, yet I am here to say something else. This man is being persecuted simply because of his ancestry. If a single iota of democracy exists in Columbia, then why was he immediately sentenced to death rather than perhaps getting a life sentence. I demand this man be taken to the international courts and that neither Columbia nor Germany be involved in the trial." The Senator had a rather glowing humanitarian reputation from both before the German invasion of England and afterwards. Just two months ago he helped stem an Ebola breakout in Madagascar and insisted that the credit instead go to KTI for its doctors.

He had another announcement. "I would also like to take this moment to honor all the many people whom died from the viral outbreak in South Columbia all that time ago. Many civilian and military personnel perished from that plague but thanks to the combined efforts of Columbian, New Axiom, and KaizerTech scientists it was finally stopped. Why must there be fighting when we all know that the world would be so much better off by cooperating."

Wilhelm Nieblung, the German Ambassador to Columbia since the colony of Neu Amerika was turned back over to the Columbians, peeked through the shades at the mob outside of the German Embassy and the SA Guards at the gates with their hands on their batons in case any of the mob got through. By international law if they got in and the guards had due cause that they were a threat then they could attack. He used his handkerchief to wipe some sweat from his forehead.

He picked up the phone. "Get me the Homeland! NOW!" He waited a few minutes and then he got through the Reichskanzler (Reich Chancellor (Head of Government)) himself. "Sir I want to get pulled from here now. I beg you." Just then there came a great bang and he looked to see the mob breaking down the iron gates and trampling the guards. "Get me a Waffen-SS extraction team, the mob have broken into the embassy! Get me out of here! Or so help me I'll give them all our military secrets in regards to Columbia! I'll even tell them about Operation Requiem!"

Emporer Cyrus Silva had been watching the news broadcast from Columbia, and he had found it rather amusing that the Colombians were so aggressive after they had lost so much in the last war. Nevertheless, the Columbian people who wished to attack Cuba were deemed a threat to the State, and so a message was sent to the Columbian government in the form of a press release by Emporer Silva, Minister Taylor, and Minister Reeves:
"Greetings. It has come to our attention that you have had multiple protests pressuring you to clear us out of the Western Hemisphere, and we feel obligated to inform you any militaristic action to any New Axiom citizen, either military, civilian, or colonial, will be regarded as an act of war, and treated as such." The broadcast ended. It was brief, but it got the point across. Minister of War Dairus Taylor was actually slightly worried; the Colombians new leader was hot tempered, aggressive, and headstrong, which more than likely meant he would be quicker to declare war at the slightest aggravation. finally, Taylor thought, a man with some sense of courage.

Hancock smirked as he looked at the telegrams from New Decius and New Axiom.
"Fools," he remarked as he reexamined the reports coming from the leaders of the Arms Manufacturing sector "like they stand a chance against Columbian might."
He, like the rest of the nation, wanted war. Vengeance. 'Give them a taste of their own medicine'. But he knew he shouldn't be stupid. If he fought one than he'd likely get them both on his ass. He didn't want that. Not a repeat of the very invasion they just got rid of and wanted revenge for.
He looked at his generals and asked "How should we proceed with the invasion plans?"

The crowd of angry citizens grew larger and larger as their shouts echoed throughout the city. Their hatred and rage against the Germans was so great they actually appeared to scare the guards a bit and were having an effect against the large iron gate.
"GET OUT OF OUR HOMELAND!"

The leader of the mob, former USC Army Captain Brook Douglas, lead the mob and was in the front smashing himself against the gates. Suddenly the gate gave in and the mob stormed the embassy, forcing the guards onto the ground and giving them "A New York City welcome". The spread out throughout the embassy shouting if not screaming for the ambassadors head.
The New York City Police and New York National Guard were outside the embassy debating on what to do.

1. "I say we overwhelm New Axiom in Cuba! They won't risk the full might of their armies on a territory so far from their homeland. It will be an easy victory and will prepare the people for even greater conquests!"

2. "That's too modest a plan of action," says another military adviser. "We need to outright destroy one of the minor powers. That will intimidate the rest of the world. Britannia is pitifully weak, and the USFNA doesn't have a single ally. One of them should be wiped off the planet!"

3. "That's fool hardy. The true enemy has always been New Decius," says the most ardent militarist. "All of those rebellions have weakened them. Now is the time to liberate England, and then from there, we will go all the way to Berlin!"

4. "This may sound completely crazy, but I think we should invade the New Mushroom Kingdom," says the loopiest of all of the advisers. "They always supported King Foley, and King Foley made us weak. I've even heard rumors that they want to bring the Monarchy back. An invasion is the only way to put a stop to that once and for all!"

Of course the President could also opt to dismiss the issue for the time being until he thought of something better...

The Duke paced in his private quarters, reading newspaper articles about the post-war tailspin Columbia was going through. It pained him to read that the Columbian's had ousted their King, and that President Hancock was now their leader. But he couldn't just stop supporting them; it appeared they were mobilizing, probably for revenge; and the Duke wanted revenge too. Too many Capileans had died for Columbian independence to leave their ally behind. He read on, to the tensions between New Axiom and Columbia over Cuba, and then to the just published report about the mobs gathering in front of the German embassy in New York. After he had finished the pile, he set them aside and sat at his desk. After thinking for several minutes, he decided that he would support the Columbians however he could; but he would also push for the restoration of King Foley. Twenty minutes later he had finished penning and reading over a few letters to various heads of state, and sent them with haste.

True Britannia and the UFSNA were enemies and strong enough to give the world reason to fear and respect Columbia but New Axiom and New Decius were the true enemies. And while it was true that Nova Capile and the New Mushroom Kingdom backed King Foley (EX-King Foley as he fled to Nova Capile when Hancock and the Nationalists overthrew him after he signed the treaty giving up the East Coast to the Germans) they atleast backed them in the 2nd Columbian War. Besides he already appeared to have made many enemies amongst the foreign lands.
"Generals and Admirals," Hancock said as he stood up to address them properly "tell your troops to get prepped for tropical weather. Today we liberate Cuba."

U.S.S. Independence, Off the coast of Cuba
The 3rd fleet was assembled along with the 3rd Army to strike at the New Axioms at Cuba. Although there were plenty of energy weapons for the troops they apparently were of the "rushed" type in that they overheated or outright exploded causing many troops to be out of commission until they could get medical aid to replace their hands. So the National Guard and Police were forced to give up their M5A2 Folsom rifles to the regular Army and Marine Corps (with the USMC falling under the Department of the Navy despite being it's own separate branch).
The large landing ships "weighed anchor" off shore and began to launch their smaller amphibious landing ships and light tanks. Machine gun fire and artillery pelted the landing ships while the battleships such as the U.S.S. Independence bombarded them from afar. Bombing runs done by the attack varients of the Louis VTOL also helped as they were pelted with plasma bombs.
The ramps dropped and the troops rushed the beachhead defenders.

The beachead defenses, positioned in bunkers along the upper beach, opened fire as soon as the landing boats lowered their ramps. Machine guns tore through brave Columbian soldiers, while railgun artillery from farther inland attempted to destroy landing craft before they reached the beach. IF-27 Jackal fighters streaked overhead, strafing enemy targets, infantry, tanks, and boats alike, with limited success. The commander of the Cuban forces sent out a distress call, and it was received by the naval strike group stationed in Latin America, who dispatched a heavy battleship and two heavy destroyers to Cuba. It was unlikely they would arrive in time, but then the ships could bombard the Columbians. When the Minister of Defense heard the news, he felt a pang of sadness. we should be using our combined resources to fight New Decius. Pity, but at leas their president has some balls.

Martinique was among the French possessions seized by the German Empire following the Anglo-French defeat and it was from an airbase on the island that the Columbian 3rd Fleet was detected closing in upon Cuba. Stationed at this airbase, the St. Pierre Luftstation, were the 612th and 617th Fighter Groups as well as the 213th Bomber Brigade, along with the Italian 27th and Hungarian 39th Fighter Groups. As soon as the Columbian forces were picked up on scanners, the alert went out for all aircraft at the base to be prepped for launch. They still had to await orders from Oberkommando der Luftwaffe (OKL) back in Berlin before any action could be taken, likely so that the Oberkommando der Marine (OKM) had time to deploy Submarine squadrons in wolf-packs and Heavy Cruisers as surface raiders before going guns blazing.

Having faced the Rodinian Tazelwurm during the Columbian conflict, the Luftwaffe had appealed to KaizerTech International to create an aircraft capable of besting the advanced fighter. Since the Battle of Philadelphia, the corporation had toiled until they managed a breakthrough. Six month's ago, when they began to put the Wolfe-VTOL Gunships into mass-production, they also put into production the Messerschmitt 610*. An aircraft which beat out the Tazelwurm in speed, versatility, and aerodynamics. It was equipped with two high-powered Blaze Luminous Ram-Accelerator rifles capable of managing up to a hundred and fifty shots in a minute and tearing through almost any other aircraft currently in existence. It was capable of being equipped with up to four missiles. Not only but it was also equipped with a specialized core allowing the engines to reach Mach 5 at top speed.

All the Fighter Squadrons at the St. Pierre Airbase were equipped with these new Me-610's and they were being loaded up with D-07 Missiles. The D-07 was another little beauty from KTI. An ordinary missile to the first appearance, when it contacted a target, the cone opened up and it latched onto whatever it had struck. A drill deployed and it dug its way through the target until penetration was achieved and then it detonated inside the target causing far more damage. This was especially useful against ships as the D-07 was designed as an AShW device whilst the planned D-08 would be an ASW device and the previous D-06 was an Anti-Armor weapon.

Soon enough the 225 Aircraft took off from the airbase in the direction of Cuba to launch an airstrike on the Columbian fleet whilst the Homeland was being petitioned for reinforcements. Not that they could arrive very quickly, what with the tensions with the Federation remaining, any troop movements could respark a world war, and not just with the Federation but with Britannia as well. Yet, even without reinforcements the German, Italian, and Hungarian Air Wing had the advantage in experienced pilots, better aircraft, and better trained pilots.

A message was being transmitted on a coded signal to the New Axiom bases across Cuba:

The Albatros-Class Aircraft Carrier, HMIS (His Majesty's Imperial Ship) Dauntless, cruised slowly through the waters in the vicinity of the Aleutian Islands, near Columbian Alaska. It was accompanied by three Norfolk-Class Guided Missile Cruiser's in a triangle formation around it, and five York-Class Guided Missile Destroyers taking the lead with three New Kent-Class Anti-Submarine Warfare Destroyers keeping to the rear. Over a hundred naval squadrons of similar size were assembled off the Columbian Western Seaboard stretching from Alaska to Canada to the United States to Mexico. The standard of the all glorious Holy Britannian Empire waved proudly in the gale upon every ship as the hour of commencement slowly drew nearer and nearer. Today was a day of momentous occasion, today was a day which historians would forever recount in the history books. Today in the year 2071 a.t.b. (Ascension Throne Britannia (Started in 55 B.C. thus throwing on 55 years to A.D. year)), Britannia invaded Columbia.

His Imperial Majesty, Harold de Britannia, 101st Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire, desired the conquest of Columbia for numerous reasons; the vast recourses it possessed, the cheap labor to be gained from the defeated populace, and the strategic situation. Also the deposition of King Foley would be all the better for the world. To ensure the success of this, he dispatched his son, Godfried kou Britannia, Third Prince of Britannia and Fifth Heir to the Royal Britannian Imperial Throne, to command these forces.

And then the appointed hour came at 5:45 AM and the first squadron of Spitfire Mk X-Strike Aircraft lifted off from the HMIS Dauntless and a bay door opened at the front of the Carrier as landing craft began to soar out of it. It took them mere minutes to reach the shoreline of the Aleutian Islands which were hardly defended at all. As the first landing craft hit the shore, a ramp dropped down and down came a MB-40 Clarent Main Battle Tank.

The Clarent has served as Britannia's MBT since 2069 ATB. It is regarded as a fourth-generation tank, developed as part of a full-scale revamping of the army following the ascession of Emperor Charles. Its armour is a then-revolutionry composite known only as Covington, providing impressive protection at relatively light weight. Its main armament is a 240mm railgun, providing superlative firepower. Its secondary armament is a turret-mounted autocannon, which can be operated automatically or remotely by the commander; offering protection against infantry and incoming missiles. Though the Britannian Special Military Development program, codenamed Camelot, was currently working on a fifth-generation tank to succeed the Clarent.

As the first of these great beasts rumbled off the landing craft, it took aim at a nearby Columbian tank taking cover in a ditch. The moment it fired, the shell was traveling faster than any eye could register as it whistled through the air and then penetrated through one end of the enemy vehicle and out the other. The Commander of the Clarent could see the Columbian tank crew scrambling to get away just as the enemy vehicle erupted in a fiery explosion.

Officer Cadet Howard H. Richards kept his had low as he hurried off the landing craft and onto the shores of one of the Aleutian Islands. He was in command of a squad of five other men and their task was to secure a special package that had been airdropped yesterday onto the island by the Royal Britannian Imperial Air Force. He looked behind him to make sure his men were with him as they charged into the forest headed for the drop coordinates. Several times he gripped his Winston 99 Ram Accelerator Assault Rifle harder when he heard rustles only to find other Britannian squads moving to secure their own objectives.

Their objective was in a clearing in the center of the island, on top of a hill. It was a rather large duffel bag with the sword and shield emblem of Camelot on it which caused Howard to raise an eyebrow but not distract him from the mission. He and Colour Sergeant Travers walked over as the others established a perimeter around them. Howard unzipped the duffel bag and pulled out several boxes inside of which were cylinders about the size of ones average M-67 Fragmentation Grenade. Just then a rustling came in the trees and about two dozen Columbian soldiers appeared and on instinct Howard tossed the object in their direction. When it hit the ground in the middle of the grip, the sides slid up into it and shrapnel fired out all around it, tearing those men to pieces.

What the Officer Cadet had just witnessed was the first field test of the Chaos Mine. Though he heard something on a nearby radio in a hut that concerned him more. He and Travers walked over and pushed open the door to see a man shielding his wife and son in the corner, but they paid them no mind and walked to the radio. It was an international broadcast but Howard tuned into the Britannian International News Network for news of the general invasion.

'And otherwise expect relatively cloudy days the rest of the week in the area of New London. This just in! Britannian forces have commenced an invasion of the United States of Columbia. Our brave fighting men in uniform have made landfall in the Aleutian Islands, British Columbia, Washington, California, Baja California, Baja California Sur, and Sonora. It is heard that His Imperial Majesty and the Army High Command expect a conflict to last at least a month but that we shall emerge victorious. All hail Britannia! All hail Britannia!' As the announcer continued to repeat 'All Hail Britannia' alongside the studio audience in the background, the small family of Columbians continued to huddle in fear.

Just then a roar of jets came overhead and Richards headed outside to check on what exactly it was, friend or foe. From what he could see it was a squadron of Sabre-Bombers making a run against a Columbian warship anchored near the island. It would seem the invasion was well underway.

The Imperial Army soldiers on the beach were not notified to move away from the beach, as to ensure the beach was held, even if a hundred or so soldiers had to die. Such was the cost of war.

Chancellor Halifax observed the world news carefully. Any single one of the events going on now could spark another World War and the world did not need to see World War IV, World War III had been bad enough. Columbia being a democracy now was good as now Halifax could petition them to join the Federation and that would mean they could provide them with protection against Germany. Only Hancock would need to understand that the Federation had no desire to respark a war with the German's, not with the fact that it was on a global scale and could rip apart the very fabric of the world itself. An invasion of Germany Proper was pondered over by the brightest military mind the Federation had and it was finally decided that it was simply impossible what with the German Armed Forces being as large as it was to match the Federation and the multiple other fronts that would open up immediately if they tried something like that. The level of partisan activity would also be a problem considering how integrated the British, Belgians, Dutch, Danish, Norwegians, Swedes, and Finnish had become in German society. By this point most of the German territories had achieved what the German's had labeled as Patrimony's which meant that those areas were fully integrated into Germany.

Halifax was trying for reelection in five years so he had to pull a rabbit out of his hat to solve this crisis. Just then he saw something on the news that warmed his heart as he turned it up. It showed a dozen Federation soldiers in desert combat gear and of a mix of Arabian, French, and Turkish nationality holding up a Basil al-Salim banner and smiling at the camera's. The reporter was speaking. "And just several hours ago, the 116th Motorized Infantry Regiment burst into Mecca and put down the revolt by the Islamic terror group Basil al-Salim. This heinous organization was responsible for the February bombings in Madrid which killed 128 and wounded over 300. These brave soldiers managed to make it through suffering minimal casualties whilst delivering maximum effect." It was news like that which truly made his heart warm.

Oberst (Colonel) Ludwig Straum pushed the throttle of his aircraft as the vehicle went into a dive, quickly followed by the rest of the aircraft as they came down upon the Columbian 3rd Fleet. He pressed a button and locked on to four separate ships for his missiles as he then fired all four warheads. He didn't wait for visual confirmation as the warheads were guided and he saw on the monitor that the rest of the squadron's were also releasing their payloads. As they went into a climb he saw on the monitor confirmation of strikes and detonations. Unfortunately two struck a transport near the shore which blasted apart and killed some New Axiom soldiers on the beach.

Ambassador Nieblung was barricaded in his office with three SA Guards all of whom were equipped with Walther P100 Semi-Automatic 9mm's to defend him and he himself had one as well. In the event they got inside and overwhelmed his guards, he would bite down hard thus shattering the suicide tablet imbedded in one of his molars thus releasing a deadly poison which would have him dead on the floor within a minute. If the tablet failed then he would put his gun to his head and blow out his own brains to prevent his being captured.

The Ambassador may have threatened revealing secrets on the phone but he truly knew he could never bring himself to betray the Fatherland like that. His wife would be ostracized and his two sons would become the bane of their school. He just threatened to do so to motivate the SS to mobilize a Waffen-SS team to extract him and according to his computer they were still a half hour out from the carrier KMS Danemark stationed off the coast of Greenland. He hoped they got here in time.

Then it happened. It was all a blur as the doors burst down into splinters and suddenly the mob was upon them...

Meanwhile out in the courtyard, a bruised and beaten SA Feldwebel (Sergeant) Heinz Junker pulled himself to his feet and looked around. A dozen of his comrades had been beaten to death in the courtyard and a fair number of the mob lay dead around them from their guns. He stumbled over to the trap door leading to the sewers beneath. His idea was to use them to get out of the city and into the country; if he could ditch the uniform and patch up his wounds he could pass himself off as a Columbian of German descent whom had fought for the resistance in New York when the German invasion occurred all that time ago.

He grabbed two more P100's from his fallen comrades, an extra cell-phone, some medical supplies, and a food parcel sent from the Fatherland. There were still several dozen food parcels in the mail room as a care package from the families of the Guard's had arrived only several hours ago and both Guards in the mailroom had also been beaten to death. Heinz had no wife or children but his parents had sent him some tripe which he had loved as a boy, though his parcel had been trampled by the mob when they had stormed the mailroom.

He could hear more of them coming so he used some of his last remaining strength to lift the concrete up and slide down as the slab dropped back into place. Now the only ones who could find it were those whom knew it was there. Heinz got moving right away, ignoring the smell and heading for the tunnel that smelled the most like the sea.
