Second Shiarkovian-New Wondrian War (Re-Opened, MT-PMT)

[New Wondour]

With no hope for a peaceful solution to the raging conflict, Shiarkov has made the first move by commencing an artillery barrage on the Erwin Line. The Erwin Line started construction in 1935 after tensions deteriorated between Shiarkov and New Wondour after the Great War. The Erwin Line was finished in 1943 and the whole wall stretched from the northern city of Elblaq in Poland to the southern city of Athens in Greece. The Line included multiple defenses, including: tanks, military bases, guard towers, mine fields, artillery batteries, fixed anti aircraft positions among other defenses. The whole line is guarded by 1,200,000 active New Wondrian troops.
But the Shiarkovians countered the line after the first conflict between the nations ended. Their line, which they called the Shiarkovian Strategic Defense Line or SSDL or more popularly known as the Ristovski Line is a line which stretches across Romania and Bulgaria, it ending in Istanbul. The line is much less developed than the New Wondrian line and it is rumored to have been abandoned in 1987.

The Duke was finally finished reading through global news when a whole new stack was brought to him, all concerning the Second Shiarkovian-New Wondrian War. "What on Earth! Why, this could turn into another world war." After another half an hour digging through the paperwork, the Duke called together his ministers. "I am sure you have heard of the new great war in Europe." All of them nodded, and his Minister of Defense spoke up: "What do you plan to do, my liege?" "Clearly Shiarkovia is the aggressor here. They're bombardment of the New Wondrian fortifications proves as much. And I have had long plans to dismantle that Communist state. From my view they appear weak; and as such, we shall strike." His ministers looked shocked. "You can't be serious my Duke. We are already stretched thin; what with 240,000 troops deployed in Karifistan, 210,000 headed towards Ulraznavia, and with the whole situation with Korelia; which should surely warrant at least one million troops to be home and ready to deploy, we can't afford to deploy the troops necessary to destroy Shiarkovia." Many other ministers nodded in agreement. "What of the volunteer and drafted troops?" the Duke asked patiently. "You know we can't count on them! I meant that we should keep at least one million veteran, professional troops at home." He sighed, exasperated. "Well, I cannot agree with you. Authorize and execute the deployment of 400,000 troops immediately." The Minister glared at the Duke, and finally bowed respectfully and said: "As you wish, my Duke." With tat he led the others out of the room.

Balkans Campaign

Shiarkovian troops have begun to attack the Edwin Line. The troops are equipped with the best technology available in the people's republic. A total of 26,000 troops have begun their assault from Romania into Serbia. The battle has turned into a stalemate though as the Shiarkovian troops are dug into the Shiakovian Strategic Defense Line (SSDL). Currently the army is using artillery strikes to destroy New Wondrian fortifications in Serbia. No casualties reported as of yet.

Black Sea

The real battle now begins in the sea. Shiarkov has deployed a total of 25 ships (destroyers, frigates and an aircraft carrier) in order to fight the New Wondrian Black Sea fleet. Although we are outnumbered and out gunned, but Shiarkovian patriotism and sheer determination will alter the course of the battle in our favor.

President Miklinnin took a seat at the table. To his right a few feet behind him, a Soviet flag with golden edges stood. The room was a dark mahogany wood tone, with black leather chairs, and fine wooden table. The members of the Soviet Executive Branch were all present to discuss the ongoing crisis in Europe. Europe was a critical zone, and Shiarkov was a valuable ally in the region. The Soviet's and the ethnic Shiarkovians shared deep cultural, political, and historical ties. The Soviet's supported Shiarkov against New Wondour back in the 50's, however the Shiarkovians recent urges to use military force against the New Wondourians worried President Miklinnin. He was working on structuring Soviet-West relations, and the last thing he needed was a destructive war in Europe. He looked to his cabinet.

"The Shiarkovians are our blood brothers and sisters. Long have she and Mother Russia held a bond unlike anything seen in the world. We are the same blood, same religion, same political ideology. However, as you all know, our Soviet Union has been desperately trying to rebuild relations with the west, stop the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and spread peaceful democratic principles with our western friends. Who do we support, and why?"

The room seemed to fall quite. Some of the older Stavka (military high command) members in the room seemed to advocate for military force against the West, but Miklinnin was in no mood. Other members, like the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of Energy supported Shiarkov simply because it was economically more beneficial. The Ministers of State and the Treasury were more moderate, saying we should try to be as neutral as possible. However, there was a reoccurring theme. Not a single cabinet member advocated for supporting the Soviet Union's old rival, New Wondour, nor the West.

Miklinnin took this as a sign that if the USDSR were to get involved, they should support Shiarkov. However this conflict in the room, was whether or not to even get involved. If they did, it could escalate into a full scale war in Europe, pulling the Soviets into yet another long war the people did not want. So, he decided to declare that the Soviet Union would declare to be an "observer state", remaining neutral however heavily invested in keeping a close eye on the war. If the war began to go against Shiarkov too much, they would get involved.

In secret, President Miklinnin initiated a special operations commission to begin shipping weapons and advisors into Shiarkov to assist in their war effort. On the border between Turkey and the Armenian SDSR, supplies, tanks, guns, and vehicles were being provided to Shiarkovians forces in complete secrecy. Soviet jets patrolled the sky to assure nothing was around. The Soviets officially stated that the jets were there to "assure stability on the Soviet-Shiarkovian border. For now, Soviet intervention would not go further than this.

King William, the 16-year old ruler of New Wondour wanted to boost the nation's morale and assure them victory over the communist state of Shiarkov, who had declared war on his peaceful people. He stood upon the Blue Palace Balcony and addressed the huge crowd standing in front of him.

"Dear citizens of New Wondour, as you may know, our old rival the People's Republic of Shiarkov has declared war against us without provocation. We will not stand by this! We will fight to the death! *the crowd cheers* We will mobilize every asset and hit them with everything we can. This time there will be no truce, no peace treaty and no cease fires. We will kill them all! Every single Shiarkovian until they surrender everything to us. *the crowds cheer becomes louder* Now, I have a message to all of the Shiarkovians living in New Wondour...get out of our country! You don't belong in this peaceful heaven that is New Wondour! God be with us!"

As he said this, a gun shot ringed from the huge crowd under him. A sniper was present in the crowd, a Shiarkovian nationalist. The bullet hit the young king's shoulder knocking him to the ground. The whole crowd started screaming in terror and some people were even stepped on during the panic. The assassin was caught by New Wondrian army veterans that were present on the crowd and he was later arrested by secret service agents. For now, the government has kept the King's condition a secret.

If it gets to the point that the great Shiarkovian cannot overcome the New Wondourians and their support from the west, the Soviet Union will support you. After the attack from a Shiarkovian nationalist, the Patriot President send a team of 10 spys to observate the situation in Shiarkov. The Patriot will send a group of 3,000 soldiers to the New Wondour Border, in a Independent Peace Mission to protect civilians. Patriot also thinking of helping the New Woundrians in the future. Actually, Brasil Novo is a Observator Country, who sends medical aid to New Woundour.

Battle of the Black Sea

Admiral Troian Miltchev, a veteran admiral in the Shiarkovian navy has formulated a plan to destroy the technologically superior New Wondrian fleet. By using hit and run tactics in conjunction with aid from the Air Force and from small coastal defense craft, they could overwhelm the enemy. The plan was put into action, and for 10 hours both fleets fought against each other in an epic battle. The Shiarkovians emerged victorious but with heavy casualties. This therefore, concluded the battle of the Black Sea. This battle had secured the first victory of the Shiakovian people against the New Wondrian imperialists. The next step will be to completely control the Mediterranian Sea. By doing this, Shiarkov would have a way of invading mainland New Wondour and possibly even capture the heavily fortified city of Berlin and make the young king surrender.

Serbia

After troops, led by General Kutuzov were able to breach the Erwin Line, Shiarkov has been able to capture multiple cities across the Serbian-Romanian border. But, the army has run into heavy resistance by part of the garrisoned army and even the civilians who have taken up arms against us. After a hours of fighting near the Line, Kutuzov's army was able to cross into inland Serbia. The army is now near the city of Belgrade, and it has begun besieging the city.
