"War. War never changes.
When atomic fire consumed the earth, those who survived did so in great, underground vaults. When they opened, their inhabitants set out across ruins of the old world to build new societies, establish new villages, forming tribes.
As decades passed, what had been the American southwest united beneath the flag of the New California Republic, dedicated to old-world values of democracy and the rule of law. As the Republic grew, so did its needs. Scouts spread east, seeking territory and wealth, in the dry and merciless expanse of the Mojave Desert. They returned with tales of a city untouched by the warheads that had scorched the rest of the world, and a great wall spanning the Colorado River.
The NCR mobilized its army and set it east to occupy the Hoover Dam, and restore it to working condition. But across the Colorado, another society had arisen under a different flag. A vast army of slaves, forged in the conquest of 86 tribes: Caesar's Legion.
Four years have passed since the Republic held the Dam - just barely - against the Legion's onslaught. The Legion did not retreat. Across the river, they gathered strength. Campfires burned, training drums beat.
Back East, time is different, the old Capital was scorched by nuclear fire, millions gone in an instant, no blood, no pride, after the Master's army was destroyed, those Super Mutants who didn't integrate into society up north, Went East, until they could see what was left of the Washington Monument poking into the sky, they started raiding parties, against those few lucky people that did survive the flames, but the tide turned when the Men in Steel arrived, Elder Owyn Lyons, leader of the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood of Steel, but now the Brotherhood has met its match, to the North is the Enclave who shout propaganda about bringing back the Old and reestablishing America, only the foolish believe this.
So, after nearly 200 years after the great war, the Eastern Branch of the Brotherhood of Steel, with the aid of a Dweller by the name of the 'Lone Wanderer' Destroyed the Enclaves influence in the Capitol of Wasteland, at the battle of the Purifier, but even that was not enough. It would be a year later, at the battle of Adams Airforce base, that the Enclave in the East, would be destroyed once and for all. But, after using up resources and manpower, and being too Overstretched, the Brotherhood began to crumble, it was but until the death of Elder Lyons, that the Eastern Brotherhood was disbanded. Allowing for a hostile take over of the Capital Wasteland by a New Republic from the North, the New United States. But, the story of this New Republic will be told soon, as it may begin as the NCR did, to spill blood in the name of Imperial Conquest. Because War, War never Changes

History: The history of the New United States dates back to 2145, when the new nation was nothing but the trading hub of New Philadelphia. Over time, as in the NCR captal of Shady Sands, this city grew, and grew, and eventually began to annex nearby settlements in order to protect this cities interest. And in 2176, after sending in city Militia into New Jersey, and Delaware, the cities Legislative proclaimed the city, to be the capital of the New United States of America. As this new Republic grew, many realized, the new nation had no true constituion. So, around 2184, a group of men were sent to Washington D.C, now the Capital Wasteland, to recover the U.S Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the works, and by Febuary of 2185, the documents were recovered, and the Wasteland would soon forget the New United States.
By 2200, the New Republic streched from Northern Pennsylvania to Delaware. But even this caused people to still want to expand the nation. So, on March, 2201, Congress established, or re-established the Marines Corp, in order to perform Military actions that require Naval landing, and like the rangers in the NCR, become the new nations most prestigious unit. On August 18th, 2202, the Marines first saw action at a strange battle, the battle for Charleston South Carolina! During the months in between, the Federal Government began purchasing, construction and repairing Transports to move troops across the Atlantic waters to other East coast territories, and in the year during the collection of Transports, heard of how the remains of Charleston was a decent trade hub in the ruins of the Southern States and commonwealths, so President William Livingston at the time, sent a force of 200 Marines and 100 Militia from across the Union. After 3 days of fighting from street to street fighting, Charleston succumbed to Federal forces, and on August 21st, 2202, was admitted to the Union, as the Capital of South Carolina (at the time, Carolina).
Over the years, the nation continuously expanded. In 2231, a treaty was brokered by the State department and Warlords in North Carolina to join the Federal Union. In 2244, the Nation launched the Maryland campaign to capture Baltimore, Annapolis (dubbed Ghoulopolis by inhabitants) and the rest of the State, by 2248, after a bloody ccmpaign the New American flag flew over Baltimore. And, by 2261, an all out war was declared to gain Eastern Virginia, only by 2266, did New Richmond fall, do to an actual organized Government, proclaiming to be the New Confederate States. At the same time, nation encountered its first Super Mutants at New Richmond, where the hulking brutes fighted both sides, and were ultimately genocided. After the 'Second Civil War' ended, the nation went into a period of economic growth, old world religions such as Christianity and Judaism was being spread again by Missionaries from the Northern states. And by 2276, the whole nation, even States such as North Carolina which was still settled by some 'Savages' celebrated the fourth of July, where the Federal Government proclaims to be the day the NUSA was founded, like the old United States. But, this brought up a question across the whole nation, Washington D.C, which last saw NUSA officials and armed personal 92 years ago. Many thought like the French after the Franco-Prussian war, that the city was a lost part of the nation. A year later however, in 2277, news came to the nation off of a Vault Dweller dubbed the 'Lone Wanderer' and of his exploits in the Capital Wasteland, and how this dweller and the BoS had done anything in their power to destroy Enclave forces in the Wasteland and how the death of President John Henry Eden was caused by the Lone Wanderer, which promptly led to Federal Forces to capture Enclave positions within the New United States. As 2280, even more promising news came to the NUSA. Elder Lyons of the Brotherhood, who had held it together, had passed, causing some chaos within the ranks of the Brotherhood, which gave the States the proper excuse to enter the wasteland, do to the old protecter, or the brotherhood, collapsing, and declared them the new protecters, and legal owners of D.C.
So, on November 7th, 2080, the New United States called fourth the armed forces of the New United States, including State Militia, leading to over 10,000 men, to invade Washington. During the opening days of the battle, do to the Brotherhood using its arsenal and knowledge and cooperating with native wastelanders. But as the battle progressed, Wastelanders realized the New United States was no Enclave, seeing Ghouls in the armed forces, and decided to return home to their settlements then rather perish. As the battle for Washington entered its 6th day, general at the time Robert Dearborn, hoping to use a victory to sweep him into the Presidency, attacked the main citadel of the Brotherhood, the Pentagon, with 3,000 men. After a artillery bombardment, 3,000 men swept into the Courtyard, and proclaimed victory for the New United States. The battle of Washington was horrific, over 2,670 soldiers of the New United States perished, wounded, or captured. But it was still, a sweeping victory, and the victors did not follow the retreating BoS forces from the newly Established 'Terriotry of Columbia'.As the year 2281 dawns upon the New United States, President-Elect Dearborn has yet to be inaugurated, and will the New American war machine continue its expansion, or simply sit idly by with its new holdings?
