Is bacon.... Overrated?

I don't eat pork. I've only had beef bacon. Does it taste the same/similar to regular bacon?

Because with beef bacon, I don't really see the big deal.

Both of these techniques are no longer used and do not affect the meat's flavor.[1][2]

It's been years since I last had beef bacon but I remember it being more chewy than crispy as people describe regular bacon. It tastes nice, but I don't think it's anything worth going crazy over (the one meat imo that best deserves that reaction is kalbi, or Korean ribs).

I never had turkey bacon, but I have had turkey in the past, and it did not have much fat, so I'm assuming turkey is pretty bland.
