"Ouch! Excuse me?" Yet another person bumped into me while I was trying to connect to the Internet through the miniature computer-watch stationed on my wrist. "You're in the way, nerd!" It was yet another of the party-goers. I rolled by eyes and moved to the side, relocating next to the table with a gargantuan bowl of chips. Come on, what could be the password to this network? Jason's acting so extravagant throughout the whole thing and yet he forgot to ask his parents to make it public?
I'm having trouble mentally pointing to the reason why I'm still here. After all, this is a massive party - loud music, all kinds of shiny and wealth-showing items everywhere, expensive food and clothing, and people are supposedly having fun with all of this. Father told me that all of this is necessary, and I shouldn't be such a downer and actually try to socialize. Well, is it not easy for you to say! Half of the people here are drunk, and the other half don't even want to be there at all! I continuously typed in passwords in hopes of finding the right one. "jasonrules" "123456789" "987654321"... No, none of them are the one...
Wait...
Why is it suddenly not responding- Oh, crap! The battery is running out! A dark red battery symbol is flashing on the screen... Did I seriously forgot to charge it?
"Hey, why are you panicking?" Some bystander asked me as I desperately searched for the charger with my left hand while watching the charge slowly... tick... down...
No...
"NO!" I exclaimed.
"What, is the battery dry?" He sounded like it's something funny. It's not funny. I left the charger back home. This is a custom-built device, so no recharges. The teleportation module is now unavailable. I'm stuck here, a continent away from my home... in a party.
"This is no joke, you know..." I muttered.
