Maiperbian Professional Sports Wire
Sponsored by the MPSA

One of the few things that were banned under the very fair Crockettonian dynasty was professional sport. After the news came that King Joseph is due to resign and end the 171 year Crockettonian era, Monat Grabasiano has wasted no time in updating the previously known Maiperbian Sports Association (MSA) to the Maiperbian Professional Sports Association (MPSA or just PSA). The first professional sports event is set up by the Professional Boxing Committee (PBC) and is the quarter finals for the PBC Championships. Badminton,Tennis and Golf are all believed to make the move to professional by the end of this year with Handball, Basketball, Rugby, Cricket and Ice-Hockey due to step up in the new year. In this thread I will post all the latest results amongst the various sports.

All records and past winners and other bits of history will be published in the factbook and this thread will be cleared every few months.

If you wish to have a fixture against any Maiperbian team/player in any sport just telegram me and we can sort things out.

PTC Celebratory Festival

Tennis Festival Takes Maiperbia By Storm
The second professional sport event to take place since the legalisation of professional sport was the Professional Tennis Committee's (PTC) celebratory festival. The festival was in honour of the beginning of professional tennis. All 64 of the newly-professional players took part and provided some thrilling games which the crowd simply could not get enough of. PTC President Buddy Michael, 37 said, "I am absolutely honoured to be in charge of such a potential rich organisation and I look forward to many years ahead. My only wish being I was a couple of years younger so I could still be playing!" The players are potential rich indeed and tennis fans all over Maiperbia looked forward to seeing if youngsters such as Anton Snyder and Jennifer Frank could cope on the big stage.

Professional Golf Committee President, Carole Henson said "It was an absolute honour to be apart of this historic match and it was absolutely unforgettable to watch, I'm just so glad I could give something back to the golfing community."

Golf in Johnston Provides a Treat(13/11/15)
After the huge success of the Crockettham game, Johnston had a huge expectation resting on it's shoulders but it did not disappoint. There was a three-way tie in the men's game with only 5 strokes separating the top from the bottom. Whilst there were no hole-in-ones in the Johnston game, there was still plenty of excitement as golf looks like it has a prosperous Maiperbian future. PGC President, Carole Henson said, "It's great, it really is, golf is the ultimate game socially and professionally, it's looking like its taking Maiperbia by storm." So it is, we look forward to the following 13 games.

PBC Fight Night

Juarez Shows There Is Still Life In Old Dog

It was a highly anticipated night as the Professional Boxing Committee (PBC) put on its first Fight Night outside of the Maiperbian Boxing Championship (MBC). Whilst no belts were on the line, it was a chance for some of the boxers who had been knocked out of the MBC to regain their confidence and prove a point. The headline fight was between Timothy Buckley and Micah Pollard, the two heaviest professional fighters. Weighing in at 246.6 pounds and 248.7 pounds, the beasts battled it out in a five-round fight where someone would have to lose two in a row. A fate worse than death. The rest of the fights were three rounds.

The full results are below:

B De Jesus 30–27 C Payne
