Many nations own the same locations across varying alt-earths and simply saying that if they wish to invade your defences will destroy them is not really good form, as my main nation I have made that threat and been beaten fairly through rp.

Quite the contrary actually if you know where to look. NationStates is the gameside aspect of NS. Here on the forums, there are many different types of RP if you know where to look. Such examples include diplomatic and economic RPs. War RPs may be the most popular type of RP on the NationStates forums, but that does not mean you should not venture away from other types. Character RPs, for example, help us establish characters, flesh out their personalities and how we want them to respond.

At the end of the day, regardless of RP, many RPers like to see plentiful RPing. This mean detail. Veteran RPers like myself love to see more than just one-line RPs. We write paragraph upon paragraph when we RP. This is why is sometimes can take us a few days to respond to another thread. We care to flesh out our people, our nation, and further improve our own writing. I'm not saying there needs to be fifty paragraphs of writing to get your point across. I am saying that try to expand on one sentence. Add another sentence. Then expand on that sentence and vice versa. You find that the more detailed, more writing you have, the more enjoyable the RP will be for you (you in this regard does not just refer to TheGemini, it refers to everyone in this thread) and everyone who reads the RP. It is not hard if you are creative or determined to expand your knowledge of RP. Try it. It is fun.

You don't own Andorra in that sense, SC. There are a multitude of Andorras, Catalonias, Frances, etc in existence on NS. Have you ever played Bioshock Infinite? Imagine it like that.

Lets tally things up:

1: This is a spam thread so derailed that the 105 passengers on-board are now dead.

2: RL locations are often multi-owned in the sense that many nations, as part of their cannon, own that portion of land. Im not gonna discredit it one way or another, but your argument would be much made better if you actually could back your claim some how - maybe a war thread of quality or good quality factbook.

3: Boo to you because there are good and bad threads of varying kind. This an example of a very very bad thread. There are plenty of good threads with good players in them that make this one less then a shadow in comparison. If you want to find any, look hard enough and you will find them. RP is not for everyone as some people prefer Gameplay. To each their own and have a nice day I say - no one forces you to either write an RP or raid a region - to that degree, no one forces you to write here either. But I'd steer clear of bashing one side or the other without making at least a better argument then: " role playing war games sucks. Your better off watching a war documentary" That remark is simply made by someone who doesn't understand the very point of RP.
