AIRPORT LAYOUT

Image
Map of Port Imperial International Airport, full-sized map can be found here.

Directions To & From The Airport

Port Imperial International Airport consists of 3 passenger terminals and 1 cargo terminal. The 3 passenger terminals are linked by a central structure with a centralised pick-up and drop-off point known as the Airport Retail Plaza. All landside retail outlets are located within the Airport Retail Plaza. The Airport Retail Plaza and thus the entire airport is supported by 2 multi-storey carparks able to hold 500 vehicles each and an underground carpark capable of holding 750 vehicles. Port Imperial International Airport is also connected to the Port Imperial Capital Region through a Metrolink station directly under the Airport Retail Plaza. Public and shuttle bus connections to and from the city are also available.

Image
Interior of Terminal 1
Terminal 1 (International Terminal)

Terminal 1 is the international terminal of PIIA. Completed in 2006 and upgraded in 2013, Terminal 1 boasts state-of-the art services throughout the airport. Designed with the "International Traveller" in mind, Terminal 1 makes full use of natural lighting, green spaces and interactive exhibits and displays that will welcome any traveller in staying at the airport longer. All international airlines are served in Terminal 1. Terminal 1 comprises of 78 gates fitted with aerobridges, of which all gates are capable of accommodating double-decker aircraft.

Terminal 2 (Domestic Terminal)

Terminal 2 is the domestic terminal of PIIA. With a main focus on simplicity, Terminal 2 focuses on using natural lighting to illuminate the terminal itself. Prior to 2010, all domestic terminals and airports in Imperial Royal Union are only open from 6am to 8pm, which was changed to 24/7 operations to accommodate the connecting flights at Port Imperial International Airport and prevent congestion during the morning when the terminal opened. Terminal 2 also makes use of limited eco-lighting that provides just enough light in the terminal. Terminal 2 houses 52 gates fitted with aerobridges.

Terminal 3 (International Terminal)

Terminal 3 is the nation's specialised terminal for use by the nation's international carriers. There are 70 gates in Terminal 3, in which all of the gates are capable of handling the Airbus A380-800. All gates are fitted with aerobridges.

Airlines At Terminal 3
  • Grande Royale Airways
  • Albatross Airlines

International Air Freight Terminal (Terminal 4)

The International Air Freight Terminal in Port Imperial International Airport was completed in 2011 and took over the air freight handling capacity from North Gates Flaunsveig Airport, which was not large enough to handle growing air freight volumes. The International Air Freight Terminal has the ability to handle 4.2 million tonnes of cargo annually. There are 30 cargo stands around the terminal. It is managed by Eldbrand Logistics Solutions, a wholly-owned subidiary of the Thalean Airports Group.

AIRPORT FACILITIES

Passenger Automated Check-in Enhanced System (PACES)

The new PACES system has been installed within Terminals 1 and 3, allowing a swift check-in process for passengers, with minimal staff assistance. Boasting a clean and simple user interface, it allows for a speedy check-in of no more than 5 minutes per passenger, from the printing of boarding passes, baggage tags and dropping off of the baggage. As PACES is not a standardised international system, the use is limited to Port Imperial International Airport and also depends if airlines have enabled the use of PACES as an alternative check-in process.

Fast Track Security Clearances

Fast Track Security Clearances are only available for business class and first class passengers (low-cost carriers not included) travelling between select nations of the Crown Federation of Recon. Since this service is provided by Port Imperial International Airport, there is no distinction between airlines that may or may not offer this service. Please refer to the Immigrations Bureau and/or Customs Security Service website for more information on Fast Track Security Clearances at Port Imperial International Airport and the eligible destination nations.

Airport Zephyr Light Rail Shuttle

The Airport Zephyr Light Rail Shuttle is a light rail system connecting the three passenger terminals and the Airport Retail Plaza together, and also provides alternative transport options for passengers moving to the ends of the terminals. The Airport Zephyr operates from 6.30 am to 12.30 am; outside of its operating hours shuttle bus connections are available at each of the terminals. The Airport Zephyr service is provided free-of-charge.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
Image

Air traffic control at Port Imperial International Airport (like all of Imperial Royal Union) is contracted to a commercial firm, skynav™, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Thalean Airports Group. skynav™ can be located in the Port Imperial International Airport Control Tower, which is off-limits to unauthorised access. Alternatively, airlines may approach the skynav™ administrative offices at each of Port Imperial International Airport's passenger terminals.

REGULATORY AGENCIES

While Port Imperial International Airport is owned by the Thalean Airports Group, the Supreme Government of Imperial Royal Union still maintains its regulatory role in safeguarding the nation's transport infrastructure. The following agencies hold direct regulatory authority over Port Imperial International Airport (and all other airports in Imperial Royal Union):

Directorate-General of National Aviation (DGNA) | Transport Safety Investigation Agency (TSIA)

In addition, Port Imperial International Airport partners with the following agencies for their support in protecting the nation's borders and the general security of the airport premises (All relevant information regarding immigrations controls, restricted entries and controlled goods may be found in the sites of the Customs Security Service and Immigrations Bureau):

All applications submitted with an official letter of intent or communique would be greatly appreciated. Business applicants do not need a storefront to be able to apply. MT only. (If you do intend to plagiarise the format of the application forms, the very least you can do is to put in some effort to make it look good, and perhaps, slightly different.)

AIRLINES

Port Imperial International Airport operates on an open gate system, whereby aircraft are randomly (not completely random) assigned to available stands and gates. As the airport provides only a location from which aircraft can land, it should be up to the airline to be able to select their preferred ground handling agents as well as refuelling services, especially when aircraft do not carry excess fuel for return flights. Meal catering services are also available, although this is optional, likewise is maintenance services, although having a servicing contract with a maintenance agent may help to prevent unwanted inconveniences.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for applying with us. On behalf of PIIA and the future airlines and their passengers that will use your provided services, thank you for your effort. As requested, we have provided Unit #01-01 of the Airport Services Estate Office Complex for use by the staff of Pegasus Petrol Company. However, we were unable to process a few of your requests. Due to existing laws, without the approval of HIM the Emperor, petrol stations cannot be opened in Port Imperial simply by approvals from any other organisation. As this is out of our jurisdiction, we cannot open a petrol station by Pegasus Petrol Company within airport grounds. We are currently still considering applying as a corporate partner with Legion Insurances. We will contact you some time later with regards to this. Last but not least, the Thalean Airports Group have considered your offer thoroughly, and we are glad to inform you that transaction has been approved. We will be transferring 5% of the airport's ownership shares into your accounts. Thank you and we hope to do business with you again in the future.

Regards,
Joe Beaumont (Mr.)

Dear Sir/Madam,

Your application has left us confused with your intentions. Firstly, we have not yet opened applications for passenger or cargo carriers. If you were intending on opening a route to Port Imperial International Airport, we kindly ask you to bear with us longer while we prepared the correct applications. If you were intending for Royal Air's subsidiaries in fuel, maintenance, catering and ground handling services to open their service in Port Imperial Airport, kindly use separate applications for each subsidiary. Furthermore, for the convenience of airlines and the airport, we will request for your subsidiaries to each have at least one office in the Airport Services Estate Office Complex. Please re-apply again with the form if you intend on opening the above-mentioned services; as of now, your application has been rejected. If we have not been able to address all of your problems, kindly write to us again for more enquiries and we would be more than happy to help you out.

Regards,
Hugo Quinn (Mr.)

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for proposing a business partnership with us. We have looked through your proposal, and we are currently still considering your offer, though we are quite tempted by it, to say the least. Please give us some more time to consider our options first before we apply via your storefront again. This is because the airport runs on a set of complicated systems that is also plugged in to many other servers and networks in Imperial Royal Union. Renewing or upgrading an existing system will require some time so that we can go about upgrading our systems without disrupting airport operations or others. Thank you.

Regards,
Kristoff Berger (Mr.)

To: Mr. Joe Beaumont, GM, Port Imperial International Airport

Greetings! After having seen that Port Imperial International Airport has opened its doors to retail companies, we would like to propose to open a branch of our Confiserie at the airport. We are a renowned provider of Forlinian desserts and teas with roots dating back to the 1800s. Our macarons are considered a very popular delicacy in Forlini and we are looking forward to bring them into your airport. We have recently started to expand internationally beyond the borders of our country, and your airport appears to be a great choice.

Please find attached the necessary form that we have completed:

Subject: Application Rejected

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are sorry to have to reject your application. Port Imperial International Airport is not prepared for such a request - we have not served outer space beings before, and we do not intend to serve such beings for the time being. Furthermore, our airport can only handle aircraft that do not fly out of Earth. We are sorry that you have found the wrong place. If you insist on operating to the airport, none of us at PIIA can prevent the Greater Arms of Imperial Royal Union from shooting you out of the sky if you enter from the atmosphere.

Regards,
Joe Beaumont (Mr.)

UPDATE ON AIRPORT OPERATIONS AS OF 19 NOVEMBER 2015

In light of the recent events and threats facing the world, all commercial and cargo flight operations will continue as per normal for the weeks leading up to 2016. Airport security at Port Imperial International Airport is adequate, and will continue to be equally strict on the rules and regulations to protect the safety of all travellers coming through Port Imperial International Airport.

Due to scheduled system maintenance by air traffic control operator skynav, the runways of Port Imperial International Airport and the airspace around Port Imperial will be closed on 21 November 2015 from 2.00 AM to 5.00 AM. We hope that airlines will take note of this situation and make the necessary arrangements to delay or cancel flights coming in at that time. The airport terminal, however, will remain open for travellers in transit to use.

Port Imperial International Airport is still looking to expand its airport services to more airlines, and hopes that more businesses will come to the airport to sell their goods and services to the travellers using the airport. For more information, kindly write to us or apply with us and we will get back to you. Thank you.

Regards,
Joe Beaumont (Mr.)
Airport General Manager (PIIA)
