Owl Creek Academy

Wyoming. The square state. In actuality, it isn't even rectangular, much less square, since any attempt to project a square on a sphere results in the sides defined by longitudinal lines converging. I suppose a more accurate geometrical description would be a trapezoid...but I digress. Wyoming is the 10th most extensive, but the least populous and the second least densely populated of the 50 United States. Whilst this makes it rather dull for the majority of its 584,153 permanent inhabitants, there are a select few who reside within the state for reasons of necessity; it is the perfect place to hide from...well, just about anyone. The "prestigious" Owl Creek Academy has served as a home to rejects, runaways and even a few rodeo clowns (what do you expect? One of Wyoming's nicknames is the "Cowboy State") over the years but its most exceptional attendees have appeared to be singularly unexceptional. Super powered individuals...meta-humans...freaks, or whatever else you may choose to call them, have attended the educational institution for almost as long as it has existed, concealing their unique abilities.

The school can be found at the end of a winding road that leads through the Owl Creek mountain range, from which the school takes its name, in the central western portion of the state. Despite encroaching upon the Wind River Indian Reservation, tensions with the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes of Native Americans have been virtually nonexistent as of late. Besides the indigenous American inhabitants of the area, the academy overlooks a small town; Beaver Bay. The town lies on the edge of a lake and is home to a permanent population of 91 people. A frequent source of complaint, the school has earned the ire of the towns inhabitants for decades...the local sheriffs department having been called out more than once over the past few years. A superstitious people, the rare occasions wherein a metahuman has overtly displayed their abilities have been attributed to a plethora of things; black magic, witchcraft and the work of the Devil featuring prominently amongst their accusations.

The most recent incident was during a party held by a group of seniors. It began at the academy but as the night wore on and those in attendance became more intoxicated, it moved from the dormitories to the town. When dawn arrived, students awoke, albeit bleary eyed and hungover, only to discover one of their fellow student's recently deceased bodies. The local law enforcement began an investigation, immediately considering the death suspicious, but they eventually ruled their evidence as inconsequential; assuming that the student had died due to an accidental overdose.

This is where your character comes in, it's the start of another academic year and both new and old students are arriving at Owl Creek Academy. What kind of person will you be? How will you choose to act? You decide...

So let's recap what we've got so far...
• This RP will feature both powered and non-powered students, with the school they attend not being specifically for the former. Accordingly, metahumans are forced to hide their abilities.
• It'll be set in present-day Wyoming; with the school, nearby town of Beaver Bay, and surrounding countryside and lake being accessible.
• Prior to the RP, a student died whilst at a party. Though it was initially regarded as suspicious, the death was written off as an accidental overdose.
• The incident piqued the federal government's interest and they began covert surveillance of Owl Creek Academy, although they will not begin as an antagonistic presence.
• People can RP as new or old students of Owl Creek Acadeny as well as teachers, the majority of which will probably be NPCs whom I will allow people to either apply as or use within their own posts; assuming they adhere to that character's personality and/or abilities.
• Owl Creek Academy is an independent boarding school, incorporating the 7th to 12th grades (12/13-17/18), so students will be allocated dorm rooms, which will most likely dictate the faction, club or, clique they join.
• Combat and the use of powers, at least on a large scale, will be restricted to special events e.g. proms, galas or balls (*giggle*). If students are caught persistently fighting or seeking confrontation, they will be expelled and relegated to the other areas.

He was very good at History and Literature and was granted a scholarship,at the age of 12 due to his high marks. He decided to go to Owl Creek to get away from the orphanage which he hated. He has joined there the Literature and History Club which incorporates other activities as well as cinematography and other. Well knowing her it would probably be English, music, calculous, German, physics, a sports team, probably soccer. I can’t be completely sure as there is no list of classes so I am just putting down what I did in 11th grade.

This is her first year here so I suspect interaction would be quite easy for her. She is very outgoing and honest so she will probably approach you or perhaps they will happen to meet at a club for training one night. Then again she could almost drive over you on her first day for a bit more humorous start. Lets’ not forget she hates the cold as well so maybe a kind sweater would work. I can come up with any number of scenarios and we can come up with an idea via TG or play by ear if you like.

Okay, Edward has been here for 2 years, since he was 13 years old. He doesn't like cars very much because of the accident. He is quite uncomfortable with people so you will have to approach me during a break, or almost drive me over which will be quite..... spectacular.
Although he will be more comfortable in the dark. He is honest, too just manipulative as well.

His childhood was great, many kids want to be friended him as he was a descendant of Vladimir Lenin, when he was eight years old, he did something to a tree which the result is that he burned down the tree for no reason, a blazing fire come out from his hands and he was shocked, he keeps it secret but tells to his family that he has some 'unrealistic' powers but in the middle school; Aleksander was very popular, a jock, and a handsome boy, many girls like him and the bullies never bullied Aleksander since he was a popular and a jock until he was on high school; the students of St. Petersburg High School says goodbye to him as he was going to transferred with his family to the Wyoming, United States because they discovered a metahuman academy called 'Owl Creek Academy'. He was 16 at that time and Aleksander never likes the Owl Creek Academny and he wanted to go back to St. Petersburg High School but he will sacrifice in this "academy". His journey in Owl Creek Academy begins, he is also an old student of this academy.

Well considering most characters won't be able to afford one, let alone be legally allowed or know how to drive a car, I would probably say no however, if your character say...gets drunk at a party, then they might steal one if they know how? If you can provide a reasonable explanation as to why they would be driving a car then I'll allow it.

The school isn't for people with powers but they go there because the school is out of the way; it's hidden. I'm sorry if that came off as a bit...rude, but you said you're English wasn't very good and I wanted to make sure you understood. As long as you get what I'm saying, you're accepted.

His childhood was great, many kids want to be friended him as he was a descendant of Vladimir Lenin, when he was eight years old, he did something to a tree which the result is that he burned down the tree for no reason, a blazing fire come out from his hands and he was shocked, he keeps it secret but tells to his family that he has some 'unrealistic' powers but in the middle school; Aleksander was very popular, a jock, and a handsome boy, many girls like him and the bullies never bullied Aleksander since he was a popular and a jock until he was on high school; the students of St. Petersburg High School says goodbye to him as he was going to transferred with his family to the Wyoming, United States because they discovered a metahuman academy called 'Owl Creek Academy'. He was 16 at that time and Aleksander never likes the Owl Creek Academny and he wanted to go back to St. Petersburg High School but he will sacrifice in this "academy". His journey in Owl Creek Academy begins, he is also an old student of this academy.

I'm basically born in the Philippines but I currently live in Paris, France.

Well knowing her it would probably be English, music, calculous, German, physics, a sports team, probably soccer. I can’t be completely sure as there is no list of classes so I am just putting down what I did in 11th grade.

This is her first year here so I suspect interaction would be quite easy for her. She is very outgoing and honest so she will probably approach you or perhaps they will happen to meet at a club for training one night. Then again she could almost drive over you on her first day for a bit more humorous start. Lets’ not forget she hates the cold as well so maybe a kind sweater would work. I can come up with any number of scenarios and we can come up with an idea via TG or play by ear if you like.

That reminds me, are cars allowed?

Well considering most characters won't be able to afford one, let alone be legally allowed or know how to drive a car, I would probably say no however, if your character say...gets drunk at a party, then they might steal one if they know how? If you can provide a reasonable explanation as to why they would be driving a car then I'll allow it.

Doesn't being from Southern California count as a reason to have a car? I mean everyone has to drive there as public transportation is terrible. Humor aside most people in the US get their licenses at 16 so that could be a reason to have it. In addition she did come all the way from California and that is a good drive really. I am fine without it but just a thought.

Well you know that could work, Julias' ability only works when she has increased adrenaline so she could almost hit you, then see what you are about to do, avoid it and then one could approach the other later on. It could be funny to have her grabbing your character shoving him against a wall and asking him whats up with that. You have been here for a while so it could be a good way for her to learn about the club as well.

Edit: Might I also state how proud I am of myself for learning how to use this quote system on my first try. lol
