Alex leaned on the railing, taking in a deep breath. He had missed the I.D since he left after the renovations were completed. He eagerly awaited the others, he was uneasy about Dibeg and the islands issue, but he was excited to talk to his allies of Randmar and Trapoli. He held in his hand a glass of Svalbard nine wine and took sips. It was his favorite. He remembered the past secretary, Eric, the poor guy, and had made sure that there was very well security. The I.Ds everyone had to carry tracked them to make sure that nothing would go wrong. A dolphin caught his eye in the gleaming sunset, it reminded him of his wife Emily, who could not come as she was meeting friends for a ski trip in Vancouvia. He remembered his first time on the Vancouvian train system, the scenery her lovely mountains, he missed that country, it was his favorite trip. As the sun set he went inside to watch the news and go to sleep.

Matt after recently being chosen as head Diplomat of Cottoria walks in with confidence. Matt knows this is a peaceful conference to discuss certain issues, however know that something is brewing with the nations in this room. Matt Waltman knows he has two thing to work towards, securing trade and Alliances as well as see to gaining the islands with Dibeg. Walking into his room he says, "This conference will either be one of peace or war. Lets hope that the first option is what happens"

Alex smiles and replies "I am feeling very good, the water here is beautiful, just yesterday I saw dolphins in the waters. Come let us go to the beach bar and talk over a bottle of Svalbard nine." He motions forward and starts to walk towards the elevator to get to the lobby.

Alex turns to matt, "Well I was hoping to improve relations between us, you, and Dibeg and i've been looking to talk to my nation's allies of Randmar and Trapoli. It also is like a vacation, sort of, for me. I love it here and its great to get away from politics back in Svalbard."

Today I finally met the captain of the ship, he sent for me in the morning. The ship had set offshore the night before, I remember seeing the fading lights of Bellechanson in the distance: I watched them disappear, then laid on the bed of my cabin, and smoked myself to sleep. The captain seems to be a good person, he offered me a simple Mandnani fruit salad and Kuarra flamed eggs for breakfast, when I finished he gave me a glass of Momoni Liquor and a hydrangea cigar. We spoke for hours, I asked him how far we were from the International District, he told me I would have to wait a day or two, if the winds were good and strong (for this was a wind powered ship). I was then dismissed. As I walked out of the captain's cabin he asked me my name "Rupaert Aokty" I answered and helped myself back to my cabin.

Alexander Sente tugged on the cuffs of his suit and made a calculated smile meant to show his own confidence and friendliness towards the other delegates. At a leisurely pace the aging diplomat strolled into the area where the other delegates were gathering with the intent of securing better relations with key nations. Checking his watch once to maintain punctuality he looked over the room to see who had gathered so far, The Svalbard diplomat perfect, I believe his name is alex.

Hiding his eagerness, Alexander approached the Svalbard diplomat in a roundabout path; on his way to him he took a drink from a near by waiter to give him a prop with which to control the conversation with. While he approach he noted that the. the cottoria diplomat whose name escaped him. had begun talking to The Svalbard diplomat.

Abiding by decorum, Alexander stood back for ten seconds within ear shot of the two to figure out the direction of the conversation before joining. Once he had it down he approached,

"Afternoon gentlemen, I trust all is going well?" Turning to look directly at the Svalbard diplomat "mm, Alex is it? we share a name it seems I am Alexander Sente from Randmar, I was hoping to see a friendly face here."

Guilham de Aro dutifully stepped off the ship that had carried him on the short journey to the International District and onto the dock. As a modestly rotund man himself, this sent the ship gently rocking back and forth due to the lost weight. He straightened his jacket, adjusted his pin of the Verdonian Crest on his left chest - then the smaller pin of house Aro below that - and, with all the grace and pose afforded to him by a noble birth, waddled toward the conference center where the delegates were supposedly to meet.

He pulled a slip of paper from his pocket. 'Cottoria, Nazaire, Bhumidol, Rontbar, Dashgrinaar, Eiralis, Serrion, Trapoli, blah, blah, blah' the list of nations he was to 'make a 'respect-worthy and lasting impression' filled the whole page. He had not had the time in order to memorize the delegates names as he intended. In all honesty, Mr. de Aro wasn't sure if half the nations on his shortlist would even be here, as the conference was totally optional.

On his walk to the building he practiced his introductions, muttering under his breath and shallowly extending his hand forward. "Guilham de Aro, Minster of Foreign Diplomacy for Verdon. Ah yes you are..." He then noticed the three conversing delegates, congregated near the beach. "Cottoria, Matt Waltman. Polar Svalbard, Alex... something. Randmar, also Alex? Setna, Santana... dammit." Struggling with his memory, Guilham diverted his path around the other statesman to the bar. At least he didn't have to remember the name of the bartender.

Ian Wellworth jumped down from the still-flying helicopter. His dress shoes sank deep into the sand of the International District and his suit jacket flapped in the circulating wind. "Thanks for the lift!" he yelled at the pilot as he gave a thumbs ups sign.

As Vancouvia's de facto ambassador, Ian had sometimes the privilege, sometimes the obligation, to travel abroad when Vancouvia's Congress deemed it necessary for him to do so. A young man of 22, fresh out of college after graduating with a degree in Political Science, Ian had been determined to be Vancouvia's best choice for a foreign ambassador after completing the lengthy Occupation Tests. His steady honesty, intelligent wit, and handsome looks were valued by many Vancouvian senators, who had agreed that he was their best choice to represent Vancouvia at the various regional conferences.

Stepping off of the sand, Ian made his way towards the meeting building. Sure, he could have landed on one of the many helicopter pads, but Ian had always enjoyed walking from place to place. He had with him no body guard, his only security his concealed pistol and slightly above-average reflexes, as determined by the Occupation Tests.

Making his way to the building, he stopped, grabbed a stick, and tried his best to clean any mud and sand off of the bottoms of his shoes. During this time, his eyes were drawn to the massively redone building, a "monstrosity" Ian thought. But perhaps Vancouvians were just used to more of a Spartan lifestyle than other nations of the region. Anyway, Ian thought it was good that the I.D. was serving a use. Ever since the last conference and its horrendous end, Ian knew that what the Islanders needed most was some diplomacy.

A gentle beep rang in his ear. It was his signal, every hour, that the Vancouvian Special Forces were standing by to come and rescue him in any event of danger. All he had to do was tap his communicator twice and a VSF squad would be on his location within minutes. Waiting offshore on a destroyer, the VSF would not risk Ian's life to the security of another nation.

Ian went up to the door, took a deep breath, and then exhaled slowly as he entered the building.

Alex looked at the delegate from Randmar, "Hello I see that we do share a common name, I hope you like the new renovations I had ordered. I was hoping we could talk somewhere, more private. If that is okay with you. Anyways I have to welcome all the delegates. If you need anything feel free to ask me, or another of the staffers. If you want to hike it is suggested that one of my security details stay with you, as we do not want any unhappy endings. I must go say hello to the others though, so for now your room is on the top floor nearest to the elevator and facing the beach, 302."

Alex walked away. Well that will be an easy name to remember. He walked towards the diplomat from Verdon but noticed that he seemed a little nervous. I'll let him cool off a bit. He walked then over to the delegate from Vancouvia. "Hello, Ian. I hope you find the renovations to taste. I spent alot of time on these and i do like it very much. I did though take the liberty of have a new log cabin built just for you as I remember that you liked those. If not a room is always available. Conference rooms are reservable for alliance meetings and what not. I was hoping to talk to ou about a regional WA that we could use. Anyways would you like a drink we have many selections, from many countries.

In the helicopter Nikolai browsed from his laptop about the nations joining the conference. "Cottoria, Dansawe, Verdon, Randmar, Vancouvia and Svalbard. Seemingly nice nations coming" He shuts the laptop and ask's the pilot "How long does it take to get to destination?" "About 10-15 minutes"

As the helicopter landed Nikolai looked at the view. It was amazing. "Now wheres the hotel room?" he thinks. It was a long trip from New Aapelistan to here. Nikolai walks to the hotels reception and asks from the reseptionist "What room do I have" "Your name?" asks the reseptionist. "Nikolai Briznikov, politician from New Aapelistan." The reseptionist gives the key to Nikolai and tells him the room number. Nikolai walks the stairs to the right floor and goes to the rooms door and opens it. Hes very tired so he goes to sleep. Tomorrow he will be meeting other people

Ambassador Coralie Jauffret, or Cora as her friends called her, stepped out of the International District airport. A taxi was waiting to take her to the hotel where the regional conference was being held. She smiled at the taxi driver who was holding the sign with her name, and with a quick "bonjour", got into the car. She'd taken a commercial flight from Tuernia, not as luxurious as a private jet some larger nations used, but at least she was first class.

She tried to look over her papers as the taxi made the short drive, various profiles of countries at the conference and Tuernian foreign policy. However, she ended up just looked out the window and thinking. Her home country, the Tuernian Republic, was a small one, with a population of 300,000. It has a policy of neutrality, and has previously stayed out of world affairs. However, she was on the forefront of a new policy of opening up to the world. Tuernians thought that had something more than their pristine beaches to offer. With a soft touch they hoped to facilitate diplomacy, encourage global trade, and promote human rights.

Jauffret stepped out of the taxi, paying the driver with a generous tip. She even gave him one of her Tuernian Francs as a memento. She walked inside, and got her room key from the receptionist. After putting down her things, and freshening up, she walked down to the hotel lounge. .

Matt after looking at the sea and eating his Lobster notices that more delegates had arrived, Seeing friendly nations like Verdon and Vancouvia, Matt knows that he will have friends in the room with him. He also sees Randmar in the room who relations are not great with and know he must improve relations with Randmar and Polar Slavbard in order to gain some of Cottoria's plans. Matt knows that his plan will be fiercely debate, but is ready for any fight. Matt awaits the Delegate from Dibeg to arrive in order to get their alliance secured between the two, yet he/she is yet to arrive.

Sente acknowledged Alex before he manged to wander off to deal with his duties during this event, Sente maintained his confident smile thorugh out but thought to himself he probably could have delegated that task to another diplomat had he been inclined to bring one. The other fellow. Matt he believed his name was, hung around and given that neither the President nor the Speaker had given any inclinations as what to do with Cottoria, Sente took the initiative as he might as well try to start up a conversation, hopefully his fellow diplomat would be receptive.

Tilting his glass towards the diplomat from Cottoria to let him know he Is talking to him, Sente holds out his other hand to shake. "Alexander Sente, at your services. I am a diplomat from Randmar." Sente stopped talking at this point to gauge his companions reaction.

"Hello, Alex," said Ian as she shook Alex's hand. "I will take a lemonade if you have one. I must say, you have done quite the uh... renovation of the I.D."

Ian paused and tightened his black tie higher up his neck. "May we go meet the other delegates? And perhaps begin to gather for a meeting?"

Alex walked away towards Ambassador Coralie, my what a beautiful lady he thought to himself. He walked towards her and held out his hand to shake. "Hello, welcome to the I.D I hope you found your accommodations to your liking."

"Enchanté." said Cora, as she stood to shake the man's hand. "I'm Coralie Jauffret, representing the Tuernian Republic. This hotel is quite luxurious, my room is no exception."

Coralie looked around at the other chatting delegates before continuing.

"It seems many of the diplomats here already have personal relationships, I'll have to work on that." She said, with a smile. "Do you happen to know when we'll be getting down to business?"
