The Monarch-Class destroyer is an effort by Korovia subsidiary Admiralty Shipyards to produce a cutting edge surface combatant with a focus on air defense and electronic warfare capabilities. The Monarch-Class is also Admiralty Shipyards first international cooperative venture, with Malgrat Mediterranian Ironworks Inc and Thales Catalonia of Republica Federal de Catalunya providing much of the vessel's sophisticated electronic suite.

The Monarch's state of the art radar systems are closely modeled on the United Kingdom's Type 45 class and is capable of tracking almost any air threat profile, including low flying aircraft and antiship missiles. Besides the direct battlefield influences the Monarch-Class is capable of projecting, she also is a capable SIGINT collector. Armament is fairly standard for a typical modern destroyer. A 48 cell Vertical Launch System (VLS) can launch a wide variety of cruise, antiship, and antiair missiles. Antiship capabilities are further enhanced by two quadruple missile launchers amidships, while two CIWS turrets provide protection against close in air threats. The Monarch possesses a standard loadout of antisubmarine armaments, plus a stern hanger with room for two helicopters.

The Monarch-Class first saw action in the 2015 Leonlong Civil War. The Navy of Monemvasia is planning to order at least six vessels by the end of 2015, while another six are being constucted at Vilanova Navy Shipyard in Republica Federal de Catalunya. The Monarch-Class can serve in a wide variety of roles, including convoy protection, surface action group flagship, shore bombardment, or carrier escort.
