New Here, quick question

Postby Dispartia » Wed Jan 20, 2010 5:45 pm

I found this when researching Jennifer Government, and joined yesterday. Got a couple of questions. Firstly, is the only thing I can really do here answer issues once a day? I don't mind if it is, just wondering if there are other elements that I haven't discovered yet. Secondly, is my flag acceptable? I want my nation to be quite anti-religion/pro-science, thus the flag and national motto/animal, but my flag doesn't look very flagy.

You can set your options to answer issues twice a day, but that's probably not what you meant.

There's a considerable roleplaying (which is to say 'collaborative fiction' here) community here on these forums for creating stories about our nations. It's the first section. The areas of it are divided up by topic, so for instance if you wanted to explore your nation's culture and leadership you would go to Nationstates, whereas if you just wanted to write about your nation's military you would go to International Incidents.

Regions also hold a lot of activities of their own. Regions have their own roleplays, culture, political systems and diplomacy, and many players seek positions of regional leadership or fame as interregional diplomats and luminaries. I'd encourage you to check out your region's forum, although since you are still in your starting region, other regions will be along to make you an offer soon enough.

You may also be interested in joining the World Assembly and writing resolutions to help enact the game world's laws across all member nations. You can do that in the General Assembly - the Security Council is similar but is really a function of the aforementioned regional-politics scene.

Your flag doesn't look particularly flaggy, but that's not against the rules. If you want something more flaglike, you might want to make a request here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4289
I wish I remember who wrote:Games like Nationstates are like a big cardboard box, and there are two kinds of people in the world. The kind who look at the empty void inside the box and ask "Where the hell is it?" and the kind who jump into the box with their friends and make it into a fort, or a spaceship.
