New World (region sign-up)

I am terrible at writing these things, so I'll get right to the point. I want to build a region that is both relaxed and easy-going, but also interested in role playing and creating a shared history with one another. I don't care how good you are at RPs (I'm not that great myself lol).. I've created this new region with high hopes that people will take an interest, though I will honestly say I don't know what it may turn into.. That's a journey we can all take together..

So, there are a few things I should explain before we continue.. New World will be very similar to the world we live in.. Similar cultures, religions, politics, etc. But, it will be more like an alternate history than anything else.. Borders may be different, populations smaller or larger, or even entire societies gone from the world.. All this will be decided by you! You will help establish these new facts about our world.. Hope your ready

Rules-
- nations must be MODERN tech
- nations must be filled with HUMANS
- nations must have a REALISTIC NAME; must sound like it could be a country
- nations must have a REALISTIC FLAG; no anime, ponies, or photographs
- applicants must choose a REALISTIC POPULATION for their country; pops can be larger than normal, but you cant put 500 million people in the UK or even 60 million on Cuba
- all members must respect each other; rudeness won't be tolerated

For example, you could claim Austria, which is visible, as well as Bavaria, which is not.. I will edit the map to all claims.. Ok.. I really like your nation and the whole idea behind it, but I unfortunately cannot give you everything you requested in your map claim.. I could give you the whole of Korea, Manchuria, and even Taiwan (could make for interesting rp) but not the Southeast Asian territories.. It's just a bit much.. As for population, I'd say somewhere between 300-400 million would still be ok for the territory I suggested.. I hope I'm not offending you but I want to keep areas open for future nations as well..

That's fair. I can take the yellow parts of Northeast Asia on the map (except Japan for better RP in the future) and make Taiwan somewhat of a protectorate/colony to do an RP about it. I'll adjust my population to 375 million, exactly half of what I originally said.

I already guessed you'd be likely for the job, hehe. It would be ideal if my independence was achieved no earlier than 1910 and no later than 1970. If that is okay with you i'll go straight to specifically what happened.

This would allow other nations to support you're struggle for independence, in a cold war type scenario.Another option would be the 1920s/1930s where my nation will have had a devastating civil war, making it too weak to fight colonial uprisings.Other dates are also possible of course.

I like the 1950's/1960's idea, as the independence movement must have had a large and powerful opponent to fight against to fit my history, eventually with both sides becoming tired of conflict, independence for Soled was negotiated and declared in 1965... So that my propaganda machine can celebrate 50 years this year, of course :lol:

Since Aeuria holds Réunion and Mauritius, both off the coast of Madagascar, I'd be more than happy to have lent military and financial aid to your cause in return for warm diplomatic relations and natural resource rights if your history allows it.

Edit: I forgot to add stipulations for assistance. After all, my nation is an empire haha

On that note, I'd like my nation to follow a loose version of how Korea progressed during that time period with a more imperialistic and technocratic attitude. So if during the independence movements, some smaller resistance groups sprang up, Neo-Joseon would have supported those groups in hopes of taking control ourselves. But obviously failed spectacularly (and with great cost to Neo-Joseon). Could explain how Neo-Joseon is still technically an Empire but doesn't do much imperializing in the late 20th, early 21st century.
