Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

Valladares' usual formation is a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference), which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Rubén Morantes and Juan Pablo Reyes on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with defensive midfielders Iván Coupet and Pedro Pedretti being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. The 3 forwards are also very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

Style Modifier: +3

Stadium:

Dragon Stadium, Canalave (Capacity: 50,987)

The Valladar Football Association has decided to choose Dragon Stadium (once again) as the official host stadium for all the qualifying matches to be played by the Valladar national football team on Valladar soil. The city of Canalave, located to the northwest of the Valladar "mainland" on the banks of the Danubio river in its confluence with the Eterna river, is known for its medieval alleys and water channels as well as its hot (sunny) and humid climate year round, with temperatures averaging from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius (89.6-93.2°F) at the time all matches are going to be scheduled: 3 pm, or 15:00, which will not be friendly to any rival by any means.

This stadium, also known as the "Dragon's Den" is also renowned for its hostile (to away teams and fans) environment, which added to the city's own weather conditions make Dragon Stadium a very difficult place to play at for visiting teams. The Valladar national football team will be looking to take advantage of these factors to ensure no rival will be able to get even a single point at Valladares without making an enormous physical effort.

The Official Darvalian National Football Roster
Presented to you by the Darvale Football Association

Image

Background

With a team full of veterans and only a couple new faces, Darvale's chances of qualifying for the World Cup are now better than ever. Although a war-torn Darvale is currently in shambles, the nineteen men on the national team who will represent Darvale in the World Cup 71 Qualifiers will be looked up to by the Darvalian populace as symbols of hope and pride. Even though the beloved Hugo Simmons, former manager of the team, is now gone, the likes of veteran players Cedric Pearson, Steven Bennett, Philip Downing, Darrell Burns, Marlon Fowler, Owen MacGee, and Wade Schultz giving the World Cup one final shot before retirement may just live up to their former manager's expectations.

Players

Goalkeepers

Image
Lowell Rose | GK | Starter | 34 years old | Nunavut North Stars (Image Quebec)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 0 Image Western Borderlands

An aging 34 year old, Lowell Rose, despite his age, is probably Darvale's best choice for a starting goalkeeper, considering the fact Darvale has quite a lack of talented goalies. Rose currently plays for the Nunavut North Stars of Quebec, and was the starting Darvalian goalkeeper since the start of the World Cup 70 Qualifiers.

Image
Lyndon Holmes | GK | Substitute | 34 years old | Port Newland (Image Barunia)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

Former starting goalkeeper for the Darvalian team and 34 year old veteran, Lyndon Holmes captained the Darvalian national team throughout the World Cup 69 Qualifiers, and currently plays for Port Newland, in Barunia. Holmes was dropped down to the bench over health concerns, and was replaced by Lowell Rose by the start of the World Cup 70 Qualfiers.

Image
Jordan Bridges | GK | Substitute | 31 years old | U. Of Keye (Image Zenic)
Debut - World Cup 69 Qualifiers Matchday 2 - Image Darvale 2 - 1 Image Crystal Empire

A long-time substitute, Jordan Bridges has only played for the team a small handful of times. He plays for U. Of Keye, a Zenician team, and debuted in the World Cup 69 Qualfiers. Bridges became the starting goalkeeper for the national team for the second half of the World Cup 69 Qualifiers after Lyndon Holmes couldn't play due to an injury, but was put back onto the bench once Lowell Rose was appointed as starting goalkeeper.

Defenders

Image
Wade Schultz | LB | Starter | 33 years old | Zenit Attawapiskat (Image Quebec)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

Schultz, now 33, joined Quebecois side Zenit Attawapiskat after Hudson FC, his previous club, was relegated into the Darvalian Second League. Considered to be the best left-back Darvale has ever produced, Schultz played for Darvale during the entire World Cup 69 Qualifiers and the World Cup 70 Qualifiers, and will be the starting left-back for Darvale during the World Cup 71 cycle. He is expected to retire at the end of the cycle.

Image
Marlon Fowler | CB | Starter | 35 years old | FC Alaer (Image The Kytler Peninsulae) | Male
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

A talented player that was recruited off the streets, Fowler does have a lot of skill in defending, but sometimes has a somewhat urgent need to tackle any striker that attempts to even get close to the penalty arc, thus earning him the nickname "Fouler". The 35 year old currently plays for FC Alaer in the Kytler Peninsulae, and is expected to retire by the end of the cycle.

Image
Owen MacGee | RB | Starter | 32 years old | Nunavut North Stars (Image Quebec)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

Playing for the Qubecois Nunavut North Stars alongside teammate Lowell Rose, MacGee was not chosen to play for Darvale during the 68th World Cup because of his relatively young age, but he became a key defender for Darvale during the World Cup 69 cycle. He excelled in the World Cup 70 Qualifiers, but, at the age of 32, is expected to retire by the end of the cycle. The 32 year old, unlike Marlon Fowler, almost never tackles, and prefers to block balls or simply steal them with the least possible or without any physical contact at all.

Image
Carl Moore | CB | Substitute | 28 years old | Kyslo (Image Jeckland)
Debut - World Cup 69 Qualifiers Matchday 9 - Image Crystal Empire 2 - 2 Image Darvale

Carl Moore was added to the national team after the six female members of the World Cup 69 Darvalian Roster were assassinated. Moore was first considered to be given the position of starting left central back, but after manager Hugo Simmons decided to change the team's formation from 5-2-3 to 3-2-2-3, eliminating a position from the defense, Moore was instead dropped to become a substitute. Moore is expected to replace Wade Schultz once the latter retires at the end of the cycle.

Image
Jerome Dawson | RB | Substitute | 28 years old | Loderno Inferno (Image Jeckland)
Debut - World Cup 69 Qualifiers Matchday 10 - Image Darvale 1 - 0 Image Lleidia

Now 28 years old, Dawson was a young star of the national side during the World Cup 69 Qualifiers, temporarily becoming the starting right-back of the national side during the qualifiers. However, after Owen MacGee got back in shape, and continued playing in his usual starting right-back position, Dawson was put back to his normal substitute status. Dawson is the only current member of the team, apart from Tony Powell, who represented Darvale in a U-21 World Cup, and is expected to replace Owen MacGee once the latter retires.

Central Midfielders

Image
Cedric Pearson | CM | Starter | 33 years old | Southwind HC (Image Crystal Empire)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

Cedric Pearson was a major part of the Darvalian national team throughout the World Cup 69 Qualifiers and the World Cup 70 Qualifiers, and is now vice-captain of the team, as well as the gateway between the defense and the offense of the Darvalian team. However, due to the formation change of the team, Pearson now partakes in more defensive operations than offensive operations. Pearson, at 33 years of age, is expected to retire at the end of the cycle.

Image
Steven Bennett | CM | Starter | 33 years old | FC Kaldukosic (Image Cosumar)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

At 33 years old, Steven Bennett has quite a bit of experience in football, having played for the Darvalian side during the entire World Cup 69 and 70 Qualifiers. Bennett, like Pearson, defends more than he attacks. Due to the fact that Bennett and Cedric Pearson originally played for Grimsby Town FC together as the two central midfielders before moving to foreign clubs, the two can collaborate very well with each other during defensive operations and the occasional offensive operation. Along with Steven Bennett, he is expected to retire at the end of the cycle.

Image
Frankie Greaves | CM | Substitute | 24 years old | Tahore Lions (Image Patistan)
Debut - None

Prior to the World Cup 71 cycle, Frankie Greaves was just another reserve on the team, but, after former substitute Johnny Robinson was shot and killed during the civil war, Greaves was called up to replace him. Greaves plays for the Tahore Lions of Patistan, but has never seen action as a member of the national team, yet. He is expected to replace Steven Bennett once the latter retires.

Attacking Midfielders

Image
Callum Ramsey | CAM | Starter | 25 years old | Cyflymder CP (Image Zenic)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 5 - 4 Image Super-Llamaland

Callum Ramsey is currently the youngest starter of the squad, and is known for his dazzling speed. Prior to the World Cup 69 Qualifiers, Ramsey was originally a reserve on the national team, but was, after excelling performances in training sessions and an incredible shred of luck, was promoted to the starter status he holds today.

Image
David Rowe | CAM | Substitute | 24 years old | Kingsgrove (Image Brenecia)
Debut - Runner Cup 3 Qualifiers Matchday 1 - Image Darvale 5 - 3 Image Kandorith

David Rowe was a member of the memorable Darvalian wild card selection for the Runner Cup 3, hosted in Equestrian States. Rowe was, before making it to the national side, an amateur playing on the streets of Darvale. Rowe is one of the three Darvalian Runner Cup 3 wild card selection members to have made it to the national side (apart from the reserve list).

Strikers

Image
Spencer Campbell | LW | Starter | 27 years old | Lotus Park (Image Brenecia)
Debut - Runner Cup 3 Qualifiers Matchday 1 - Image Darvale 5 - 3 Kandorith

An aspiring 27 year old, Spencer Campbell was another member of the memorable Darvalian wild card selection for the Runner Cup 3. Campbell, like David Rowe, played on the streets of Darvale before making it to the national team. Campbell is one of the three members of the Darvalian Runner Cup 3 wild card selection to have made it to the national side (apart from the reserve list).

Image
Darrell Burns | CS | Starter | 33 years old | Pajukas Sport (Image Buyan)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

Burns is the veteran and star striker of the team, and is rather known as a 6 meter box poacher, being very sneaky yet knowing how to stay onside. Burns usually scores goals by capitalizing on corner kicks or crosses, and his playstyle is less offensive than those of the other three strikers. Burns was the top Darvalian goalscorer of the Darvalian World Cup 69 Qualifiers side, after scoring a total of twelve times for Darvale during the Qualifiers, and excelled in the World Cup 70 Qualifiers. Despite this, he is expected to retire at the end of the cycle.

Image
Ryan Keane | RW | Starter | 26 years old | Port York (Image Felix)
Debut - Runner Cup 3 Qualifiers Matchday 1 - Image Darvale 5 - 3 Image Kandorith

The 26 year old Ryan Keane is the third member of the memorable Darvalian Runner Cup 3 wild card selection, along with Spencer Campbell and David Rowe, to have made it on to the national team (apart from the reserve list). Ryan Keane is a precision expert, capable of producing on-target shots from long distances.

Image
Philip Downing (CAPTAIN) | RW | Starter | 33 years old | CSKA Quebec (Image Quebec)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 3 - 2 Image The Kytler Peninsulae

Captain of the Darvalian side, Philip Downing is the heart and pride of the Darvalian national team. Initially a striker in his early days on the national side, Downing kept that position on the national side from the pre-World Cup 69 era until the middle of the World Cup 69 Qualifiers. Downing was changed to the position of attacking midfielder after the introduction of the 4-2-3-1 formation - a position that seemed to fit Downing perfectly. And after the 4-2-3-1 formation was abolished, and the 3-2-2-3 formation was introduced, Downing kept the position of attacking midfielder. But, when the 3-2-2-3 formation was abolished, and the 3-2-1-4 was introduced, Downing was switched back to his initial position of striker. This star will likely retire at the end of the cycle.

Image
Gavin Reed | LW | Substitute | 28 years old | Sporting Cenial (Image Ceni)
Debut - Friendly - Image Darvale 5 - 4 Image Super-Llamaland

Gavin Reed was added to the national team after an over-the-top performance for his former club, Bayern Hautbregen, during the International FireStorm Cup VIII - a tournament in which Reed led Bayern to the Round of 16 after scoring 22 goals for the club - in a mere seven games. Reed was originally a reserve on the national team, but he was promoted to the substitute status he holds today after his splendid performance in the IFSC.

Image
Tony Powell | CS | Substitute | 28 years old | Isca Town FC (Image Nova Anglicana)
Debut - World Cup 69 Qualifiers Matchday 9 - Image Crystal Empire 2 - 2 Image Darvale

Tony Powell burst onto the national team during the World Cup 69 Qualifiers, replacing former striker Lena Parker after the latter was killed during the qualifiers. Tony Powell, along with Jerome Dawson, are the only members of the Darvalian Under-21 roster for the Di Bradini Cup 31 (Under-21 Cup 52) now on the national team (except for the reserve list).

THE LLAMANEAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION HEREBY PRESENTS...SUPER-LLAMALAND'S WC71 ROSTER

All graphics done splendidly by Kirola Sports of Audioslavia

Background

In true Llamanean fashion, the Tigers managed to stun everyone in San José Guayabal to advance to the Round of Sixteen at the World Cup two years ago in undefeated fashion, drawing Saintland and Mizuyuki and upsetting recent champions Vilita in a match that sent the world reeling, but still managed to lose the match critics were calling "Possibly the Least Overpowering Pair to Ever Make the Playoffs - Drawn Against Each Other" to eventual semifinalists HopNation. Still, the Round-of-sixteen berth marks another stepping stone in Super-Llamaland's progress at the World Cup. The Tigers will struggle to become a world power, but there will be many obstacles in their way, and they must play well just to advance....

Tourist Guide
Welcome to Star United States

Welcome to the land of diversity! The country of Star United States is composed of five districts, which are known as Estrall, Herbeid, Piasxe, Opangue, and Starix. City of Star stands proud as the Starian Capital. Diversity can be found from the small forgotten streets in little towns to the busiest market streets in primate cities, be it food, the people, of the languages. Here in the Starian lands, the most common languages are English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and are spoken throughout the whole region. Portuguese, however, is more common and known on the Starian Islands. There are seven beautiful islands in the West Esportivan Ocean that are known as: Alegria, Ilha do Sur, Ilha Central, Paz, Ilha Recife, Sorriso, and Ilha do Norte. It should also be noted that the official religion of the country is Christianity.

#23,Hannan Khana, 27 years old, Pak-Jariri F.C, Patistan Premier League
Notes: Pak-Jariri's first international player. Had a commendable performance in the WCQ's

#17,Talat Hussain, 29 Years old, Tahore United, Patistan Premier League
Notes: The only defender which was also in World Cup 69 and 70 qualifications.

#28,Jhanzeb Narwal, 23 Years old, Daslabad Air Force, Patistan Premier League
Notes: Was also a defender in the World cup 69 qualifiers and 70th but didn't play any matches in the 69th to a hamstring injury. Had a good performances in the latest WCQ's.

#45,Rohail Jameel, 19 years old, FC Jansberg, Semarluundik Premarligaen
Notes: First player of Semarlandic descent to play for Patistan. He got sold to FC Jansberg and has made a big impact there in a short time.

Midfielders
#98,Furqan Shaq, 23 years old, Chiddersley F.C, Jeckland Premier League
Notes: Furqan isn't having the best of his moments and will need to impress in the WCQ's if he want's to maintain his place.

#29,Fahad Khan, 25 years old, Dayton F.C, Darvale Football League
Notes: After guiding Tashawar Cheetahs to the cup, Fahad was chosen by Dayton F.C and after performing there he was a easy pick for the selectors..

#88,Zulfiqar Babar, 23 years old, Fairbanks United F.C, Darvale Football League
Notes: Controversial pick due to his experience in the National squad. He can easily perform and disappoint on any given day.

#5,Atiaq Rasool, 23 years old, 1860 Azoth, Cenian Premier league
Notes: Cost a heavy 13 million to Azoth after performing spectacularly at P.E.C.S.

#67,Abdullah Hussain, 24 years old, Manehatten Dragons, Equestrian League
Notes: Abdullah recently transferred to Manehatten to become the first Patistani player to play in the Equestrian League.

#21,Younda Fahad, 21 years old, AOS Royal FC, Cosumarite League
Notes: By far the best midfielder in the newly promoted side of Fujranwala.

#14,Raina Akhtaura,29 years old, Jawhlpur City, Patistan Premier League
Notes: The only person selected from a team which plays in the 3rd division of the league, Raina was the person who in some opinions was responsible for promoting Jawhlpur

Strikers
#100,Faraz Zia,26 years old, Paymina Navy, Paymina Futbol Premer Liga
Notes: Faraz had a rusty season but is all set to play on the global stage again, he will also might move back to Patistan.

#9.James Hussam, 21 years old, Nagelti Rovers, Jeckland Premier League
Notes: With James playing very well at one of the top Jeckish clubs, he was a easy pick for the selectors for the WCQ's, after notching up the highest goals for Patistan he was guaranteed a place in the AOCAF squad and now in 71 WCQ's

#12,Shahid Shazib, 25 years old, Jaunepont Persians, Sun League
Notes: The most expensive Patistani on the transfer market to date, Shahid went for a amazing 36 Mil to Jaunepont Persians,he was Patistan's previous captain.

#19,Zesh Rehman, 28 years old, Kingston F.C, Quebecois Premier League (VC)
Notes: Zesh had a horrible season with PLI Paladins, he was struck with injuries and could only play 5 matches. He although had a bright season with Kingston and finished a good position. Being a former captain he was a sensible choice for Vice-Captain.

#14,Junaid Hussain, 19 years old, ST Johns Arsenal, Quebecois football league
Notes: The young Patistani hot prospect who played a vita part in North Toota being promoted. He got transferred to ST.Johns Arsenal and will be looking to make it to the first team directly with some good performances for Patistan.

#10,Rashid Gulaz,25 years old, Tachi Stars, Patistan Premier League
Notes: Rashid has been with Tachi ever since they started in the 3rd tier, he was the reason that they got promoted to the Premier league this quickly,he was also the reason they finished 2nd in the premier league.

#89,Farahl Tauhid,23 years old, Serebii Arcues, K League
Notes: Farahl won the silver boot in the league with his 19 goals. He also helped Serebii win the league. Can he now help Patistan?

The Managers
Alim Shah,66 years old,has managed Fujranwala United, Tahore United, Jawhlpur City
Notes: Alim is the new man to take the Patistani hotseat, throughout his managing career he has made underdogs champions.

National Stadium (110 000)
The National Stadium - the "Green Jewel" - is located in North-East Kernansquillec City.

The stadium is linked to the nearby town center and the city's international airport by a direct metro line known as the "Green Line". Shuttles arrives every couple of minutes on match days linking the city center to the stadium in about 6 minutes, with the stadium-airport link about 8 minutes long. City buses also link the stadium to the whole capital and a 25 000 capacity underground car park is a mere 300 meters away from the ground.

The all-seater stadium has a capacity of 110 000. A section of up to 10 000 seats can be reserved for away fans, however less are usually provided. All of the stadiums seats are either green or white.

The Stadium, which was built in 1995, has been refurbished only once in 2036 when damage done during the Great War was repaired and an additional 10 000 seats added. Internal facilities, such as changing rooms along with medical and security facilities were also refurbished with state-of-the-art equipment.

The Stadium hosts all of Kernansquillec's home internationals as well as the National Cup final and playoff finals. The Under 21s also play their home ties here. The stadium has also hosted the finals of the 53rd Series B Champions’ Cup as well as the final of the 8th Youth Cup. The stadium also helped host games during the 20th Copa Rushmori including a round of 16 tie between Electrum and Darmen with the latter winning 2-1.

Hakifao Starlings : World Cup 71 Official Roster

Nation History

The Hakifao Federation, the furthest northwest of the three major nations to the north of Super-Llamaland, has a rich and glorious history of being taken over repeatedly but coming out ahead of their captors. Parts of the classical Vjäle, Arøndeshölm, and Nojais Empires at various points in its older history, Hakifao first became independent following the Öslerholm Revolts of 1687, whereupon they broke apart from the Arendellenske Monarchy. They were one of the first nations in the North to embrace democracy, deposing the autocratic Henrik II in early 1705, nearly half a century before the formation of Arøndeshölm's Talspråkare för Republiken movement.

In 1896, after nearly two centuries of relative peace due to non-aggression pacts signed with Vjaalsbürg and Arøndeshölm, the fledgling Arendellenske Empire attempted to annex Hakifao, failing miserably in a multi-year war that sparked the First Northern Conflict (1905 - 1912). In said conflict, the expansionist Arendellenskes were defeated by a Vjaal-Hakifao coalition, and the Isles gained territory. In the Second Northern Conflict (1926 - 1928), however, the Hakifaos lost much of their territory to a Vjaal-Arendellenske alliance.

The North continued onwards through relative peace until the rising of the Llamanean Union under autocratic William Andeck. The Isles surrendered quickly and as such had the least loss of life. Super-Llamaland occupied Hakifao from 1975 to 1986.

After the dissolution of the Empire and the death of Andeck, Hakifao once again became an independent state. However, after countless years of pressure, the nation joined the Arendellenske Union in 1999, quickly losing autonomy but still technically being a sovereign nation. Now, a new wave of nationalists have pressured the Arendellenskes into more rights, but their fate is still up in the air.

Team History

Although Hakifao had numerous short-lived leagues since 1934, after the Llamanean Expansions, they did not possess one. Pressured to create one by the Arendellenskes upon entering their union, the Hakifao Football League (HFL) was founded in 2002.

Still, it would not have survived if it weren't for two men - Alessandr Simon was the first. Herlek Korhonen, the second. Simon, the owner of FC Ulselsheim, one of the largest cities, in Hakifao, began to sign foreign players, building a football empire and taking over the reigns as commissioner, reviving the league and bringing football to Hakifao. But the only reason it stayed was Korhonen - a do-it-all offensive star in his day, which perfectly coincided with Ulselsheim's rise to power, who drew players in great amounts for both Denhølm and Ulselsheim after Simon shrewdly engineered a deal for him.

In 2005, the Hakifao Football Association (HFA) was founded to get the Hakifaos access into the international scene. Sure enough, they debuted in the Empire Reunion Cup in 2009, generally doing mediocre. Finally, they gained access to an important sporting region, Atlantian Oceania, and joined as a member. Their first tournament was wildly successful, defeating Osarius and advancing to the Round of Sixteen, and they matched that feat in the second, and their third ended with the Starlings proudly hoisting the Baptism of Fire crown in the Equestrian States. Now, on the world's greatest stage, they look to repeat the feat. Can they?

Player Descriptions

#01 - 32 yrs - FC Ulselsheim - Eight caps - Isak ANDERSSON - CAPTAIN
Absolutely fiendish in the net and one of the key players behind Hakifao’s AOCAF success, Isak Andersson is back for what may be his first and last Cup appearance. While at thirty-two he plays a bit more cautious than the recklessness he used to exhibit, Andersson is still agile and durable in the net and should be a solid piece of this Starlings team.
#12 - 30 yrs - Landsbyen Athletic - Uncapped - Anton GUSTAVSSON
The uncapped starting keeper for Landsbyen Athletic, Anton Gustavsson, likely won’t see action until the World Cup Qualifiers - and with Andersson so good in front of him, when he finally gets a well-deserved cap at thirty it’ll be his first in two AOCAFs. Not as talented as the starting keeper, Gustavsson played multiple positions, not focusing on goalie until seventeen. Still, he blossomed in the net in college, and now is a capable and fairly fast keeper, although sometimes his un-goalie-ness shows quite a bit.
#23 - 24 yrs - FC Landsbyen - Uncapped - Arnur VALQUIST
A still fairly young keeper out of FC Landsbyen, and one of the most talented keepers in Northern history, Arnur Valquist is certainly a name to keep an eye on in future years. Potentially equally as good as Isak Andersson or even Henry McNeal, Valquist nonetheless is still fairly raw for his age and may not see action until the qualifiers. If he does get on, he’s amazingly good at penalty kicks and may serve as a specialist.

#02 - 29 yrs - FC Ulselsheim - Seven caps - Alex PEDERSSEN
#03 - 22 yrs - Landsbyen Athletic - Uncapped - Nathaniel OLSEN
Fairly inexperienced at twenty-two, center-back Nathaniel Olsen is certainly a rising talent. The Landsbyen Athletic starter and former Hakifao College Soccer Assocation (HCSA) all-star has a polished game for a twenty-two year old. Still, despite his flair and tackling prowess, he’s a bit slow and has gone through numerous injuries, including the torn ACL that cost him the majority of his junior year. When healthy, he’s a solid center-back. But will he be?
#05 - 28 yrs - FC Pavlargen - Six caps - Adam HENRIKSON
One of the most unsung heroes of every Hakifao underdog run, Henrikson is a sturdy, consistent fullback who can play any position. Fairly short at five-eight, the defender is nevertheless capable and consistent both for the National Team and for underrated club team FC Pavlargen, based in Arøndeshölm. Henrikson is an excellent man-marker and decent tackler, and has the durability to play in another Cup.
#15 - 28 yrs - Feyjän Athletic - Three caps - Brynjar JONSSON
A relatively unknown right-back out of the newly-annexed Feyjän isles, Brynjar Jonsson nevertheless made quite the name for himself when he scored once and almost single-handedly shut out the Hakifao team in a Feyjän-Hakifao friendly. Now playing - despite his nationalist tendencies - on the Hakifao national team, he’ll get a chance to showcase his strong counterattack play and decent tackling.
#22 - 25 yrs - Ulselsheim Inferiore - One cap - Eric BERGEN
A great teammate, but Bergen is really a bit of a stopgap between players. Playing for the aptly-named Ulselsheim Inferiore, Bergen is a decent enough tackler and man-marker, but his counter attack skills leave much to be desired. As such, he’ll likely play as a sweeper during the tournament until he can polish his offensive game - but with Henrikson already covering that he may not get much pitch time to add to his lone cap.
#25 - 27 yrs - FC Ulselsheim - Eight caps - Alexei ISOAHO - ASSISTANT CAPTAIN
Alexei Isoaho is, if not the best defender on the Hakifao team, certainly the most well-known - the assistant captain has a highly polished game at center-back or a more compact left-back and is one of the best “pure” defenders there are. Isoaho tends not to deal with frivolous things like attacking, although his playmaking is fairly decent, sticking to his strong points of nearly every facet of defense. Twenty-seven but still a bold defender, Isoaho isn’t afraid to be carded, and this may lead to the Starlings’ downfall.
#29 - 25 yrs - City of Mjottsland - Uncapped - Nils JOHANNESSEN
The newcomer from the islands of Vestfjordur, young wing-back Nils Johannessen could be a talent to be reckoned with in the future. At twenty-five, due to a former apprenticeship to a blacksmith and three years in professional baseball, he’s still a bit raw, but his speed and energy make him a valuable asset on the Starlings. Johannessen certainly needs a bit of polish, but as one of the quickest fullbacks on the team he may be employed in counter-attack situations fairly often.

#07 - 30 yrs - Landsbyen Athletic - Eight caps - Sven PEDERSSEN
A wily attacking halfback from Landsbyen Athletic, Sven Pederssen is one of the better players on this team. The thirty-year-old midfielder is a strong playmaker and shooter, although he’s lost a step.
#08 - 24 yrs - FC Ulselsheim - Eight caps - Jonas WALQUIST
#11 - 30 yrs - Landsbyen Athletic - Eight caps - Elias BORG
Easily one of the most experienced players on this team with Herlek Korhonen's retirement, Elias Borg is still a bit of an introvert - passionate and driven, but probably not captain material. Still, despite his inability to subtract one from his jersey number and don an armband, he's still a brilliant shooter and a superstar in the box.
#17 - 27 yrs - City of Mjottsland - Three caps - Viljami KARLSON
With the dubious honor of playing for both the Mjottsland national team and the Hakifao national team at the same time, with the annexation of Mjottsland Karlson now gets to focus on the Starlings. On the pitch, Viljami Karlson is a decent right- or center-halfback, and he's one of the few players on the team who goes both ways consistently. His greatest asset is his durability and stamina; his weakest, agility, hampers him when he's on defense. Still, he's surprisingly fast for such a bulky frame, but his shooting and passing touch are still both strong. An intriguing player who should be able to challenge for a starting spot.
#18 - 23 yrs - Vestfjörður Athletic - Uncapped - Skjǫldr NILSSEN
One of the newest additions to the Hakifao team, Skjǫldr Nilssen has the greatest potential for international stardom out of any of the players on the team. Dedicated to the sport throughout college despite its unpopularity, he gained fame playing on the national team of Vestfjörður in a similar method to Brynjar Jonsson, scoring twice against the Hakifao team in a 3-2 victory. On the pitch now, he's fairly polished for a player of his age, and a brilliant passing touch that is potentially better than any other player on the team, and his shooting touch is decent enough to get by. Definitely someone to watch out for.
#19 - 30 yrs - FC Landsbyen - Three caps - Konstans MÄKELA
At thirty one of the team's more experienced players (yay low standards), FC Landsbyen halfback Konstans Mäkela has become well-known internationally for his reckless style of play. A center halfback in theory but an attacking midfielder in reality, Mäkela has managed to combine arrogance, recklessness, and talent into a player who's actually quite good at football. Expect a disproportionate number of a goals for a center-midfielder, a few cautions for poor conduct off the pitch, and possibly the best tournament Mäkela has ever had.
#30 - 26 yrs - Helgen-av-Johan - Uncapped - Kristian HALVORSÖN
One of the younger talents on the team, Kristian Halvorsön is already one of it's best playmakers. Tending to hang back on the left side in the mold of a Kyle Sturgeon-type player, he's still a decent shooter (PKs especially) and a top playmaker. Quite unlike Sturgeon, though, he has a fiery personality and won't hesitate to stand up for a teammate. This usually ends poorly.
#35 - 33 yrs - Landsbyen Athletic - Two caps - Mattias SAARINEN
While the experienced center-halfback isn’t expected to see much playing time, Mattias Saarinen’s experience and versatility have kept him on the Starlings. He tends to just hang back and pass around, but he’s still enough energy for a late-game creativity boost. In addition, Saarinen’s experience for Landsbyen Athletic means he’ll likely serve as a mentor to younger talents such as Nilssen and Halvorsön.

#06 - 29 yrs - FC Denison (SLL) - Eight caps - Daniel NIEMI
The lone Hakifao playing abroad in the Llamanean leagues - or any non-Northern league, for that matter, Daniel Niemi has the reputation as a jack-of-all-trades. Never really becoming particularly good, he’s still remarkably consistent for a striker in nearly every facet of the game. Still, with the emergence of Sigmund Aronsen, he soon may no longer be the best striker in Hakifao - Niemi’s very unlikely to win Man of the Match, but he’ll give a solid 7/10 wherever possible.
#12 - 27 yrs - Katterna Fjords FC - Two caps - Sigmund ARONSEN
Hailing from the newly-annexed isles of Mjottsland, Sigmund Aronsen has, despite playing for backwater local club Katterna Fjords in the second tier, managed to become one of the nation’s brightest talents at striker. With a vicious scoring touch and an aptitude for running into the box early and often, Aronsen tends to hang forwards a bit too often - once in his youth cautioned because the referee didn’t believe he was hanging around offsides so often by accident - but when he’s onsides, which is more often, he’s deadly.
#13 - 25 yrs - Landsbyen Athletic - One cap - Gordon ANDREASSON
Once an unheralded substitute out of the islands of Landsbyen, Gordon Andreasson’s goal to draw the Starlings even with a formidable Osarian squad in extra-time of the Round of Sixteen at the AOCAF sent the formerly-unknown striker into world prominence. While the Hakifao team already won, the diminutive striker’s grit and athletic drive more than make up for an innate lack of world-beating speed and agility.
#18 - 29 yrs - Acevøn Athletic - Three caps - Sofia LETONIEN
By playmaking Sofia Letonien is one of the best on the team, and she’s extremely versatile, but her athleticism is agility-intense rather than fast, and Letonien isn’t great at shooting from distance, although she is proficient at PKs and one-on-ones.

Expected Starting Lineup (4 - 4 - 2)
"The Hakifaos look like a million bucks, doesn't them? They just looks like someone you want to stick in your... Esportiva."
"I'm glad you finished that sentence the way you did. "
"They'd murder me in the sack. "

The Euran Football Association’s 71st World Cup Qualifying Squad

Manager: Steve Thompson (51, Eura)

All time Euran record appearance holder Steve Thompson, with 301 caps to his name and 75 goals, has been made Euran manager amidst much fanfare. By beating Tom Benedict, several other former Eura internationals and international candidates to the post, Steve has set himself up with the tough task of helping Eura recover from three consecutive poor performances at World Cup finals. Eura seemed to gain more defensive stability and ruthlessness under Louis Watson last cycle, but while they dispatched of the minnows easily they underperformed badly against the higher seeds, and then fell apart in the group stage. Only a deserved draw with Valanora salvaged any pride.

However Thompson has so far deftly managed the issues within his squad and achieved some decent results on the run to a surprisingly good performance at the 20th Copa Rushmori. His Eura side made it to the final before falling to an unlucky defeat in extra time against Sargossa by the score of 2-1, despite a headed goal from Craig Gilbert. Now they come into this World Cup qualifying as the second seeds in their group for the first time in some years, but after their Copa performance, they must believe they can qualify again. The question is whether or not their opposition agree; and if they do get to the World Cup, will they fail again?

Assistant Manager: Matt Boyce (51, Eura)

Boyce was a surprise appointment as Thompson’s assistant, having been out of coaching roles for a couple of years. However he has plenty of experience at various clubs and the national team before that and his appointment has been responded to positively. It is expected that he will play a pivotal role in maintaining Eura’s improvements at the back, while his bubbly personality and reputation as a leader will make him a valuable asset in the dressing room.

Osarius Squad for World Cup 71

Team: Osarius National Football Team (aka "The Firebirds")
Style modifier: +1.5 (counter/possession-based attacking)

Manager: Jermain Lewis (68 years old)
Assistant Manager: Georgina Carsley (60 years old)
Captain: Roque Acosta
Vice-captain: Ruby Fletcher
3rd captain: Juan Pablo Rodriguez

Home stadium: Mount Crown Stadium, Burningham (cap. 98,000 all seated)
The Firebirds' home stadium is built at the foot of the imposing Mount Crown, on the outskirts of the capital city, Burningham. Fans are known for their extremely vocal support, and the Osarian national stadium has been described as a difficult place to play. The stats support this notion, as Osarius are undefeated, and have not failed to find the net there under Jermain Lewis. The most vociferous home fans are seated in a kop-esque stand built into the mountainside, with the huge, rocky face behind them adding to the intimidation. The pitch itself is usually made shorter, but wider than most, catering to the short midfield passing game of the Firebirds, and their frequent use of width. Long-ball teams will find it difficult to find space behind the defence, but teams making liberal use of wingers will likely flourish.

There are also two "special" kits, one is white with black and red flames on the front left, and the other is mostly gold (the traditional alternate kit colours) with a red and black bar across the middle, if neither of these is suitable. I'll make these eventually.

My RP Permissions are pretty chill to be honest.
Pretty much anything goes, I only ask that you let me decide the severity of any injuries you decide to RP for me, please.
Send my players off if you must -- if it's a player I really didn't wanna lose for the next game, I'll RP an appeal or something.
Oh and at the risk of sounding a bit "RAWR" ... do not kill any of my players or coaching staff (unless I say go ahead via TG).
Killing fans is okay though. Go nuts with that if you like.

Most likely to...
Score a goal: Ezio Grassi, Marco Puntoriero, the winger opposite Wesley Kane, or Wesley Kane (in something like that order)
Create that goal: Toby Drummond (he's a witch!), Wesley Kane or Nicola Costello
Win a free kick: Ezio Grassi, Tobias Clarke or Paolita Bruno
Take (and score) that free kick: Roque Acosta, Lucio Lazzarani or Wesley Kane
Win a penalty: Ezio Grassi, Nathaniel Doherty or Sergio Mora
Take (and score) that penalty: Roque Acosta, Toby Drummond or Wesley Kane
Miss a penalty: Other than Arturo Monte... probably Yazmin Velásquez
Score a header off a set piece: Salvatore Laccona, Fabian Padron or Emanuele Riviello
Score an own goal: Emanuele Riviello or Clemente Jaconelli
Hack an opponent down: Ramiro Figueroa (out of necessity, of course)
Lose their head and get sent off: Felix Victor is pretty tightly wound, if you get my meaning.
Commit a professional foul: Efrain Suarez. Dude is insane.
Argue with the referee: Nathaniel Doherty or Efrain Suarez (he will sprint a good 60-70m to do it, too)
"Disappear" during a match: Yazmin Velásquez, Susana Grana or Theodore Prince
"Put in a shift": Fabio Mancini. Dude runs on ultra Duracell.
Have an elaborate goal celebration planned out: normally, nobody... but Nathaniel Doherty is the team prankster
Get caught stumbling out of a nightclub: Well, it's rumoured that Giorgia Caruso's fall down the pecking order...
Do charity work: Lewis requires the entire squad to at times, but Juan Pablo Rodriguez and Andrea Poynter are most likely to do so without being told to
Elicit marriage proposals from fans: Ruby Fletcher or Sergio Mora... despite both being married.

The team will generally attempt to control possession rather than engage in consciously defensive play; and "parking the bus" is a cardinal sin. When out of possession, the team will generally press high up the pitch and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible, sometimes over-committing, and leaving themselves vulnerable to a swift counterattack. Generally pacy defenders help to alleviate this problem somewhat.

Against stronger opponents, expect to see a more defensive positioning manifest itself, though. Defenders will be less likely to press high, and the team plays something akin to consciously defensive football, looking to use devastating speed on the break.

They will also slow down when ahead later in the game, but only so they don't unnecessarily provide opportunities to lose possession and/or concede. This doesn't mean they wont take the opportunity to score if it presents itself, though...

The front line of three is often very flexible, with all three (usually) capable of playing in any of the front three roles at any given time. Most of the time, the centre forward/striker will remain the focal point of the team's central attacking, though, whether they are receiving passes or moving to make space for the wingers.

If there is an attacking midfielder on the pitch, they will likely operate as a "false ten" in tandem with a forward dropping deep (like a "false nine"). Effectively they will be most likely to get onto the end of passes in the final third, and thus score goals. Unless the forward is Ezio Grassi. Because he is Ezio "Goalmachine" Grassi, and in this case, the attacking midfielder will be tasked with creating chances. This normally means that if Toby Drummond is replaced by another midfielder, either they will be a playmaker, or Grassi is coming off soon too.

On the occasions no specifically named attacking midfielder is used, typically it is an indicator that the manager expects a tighter battle for possession in the midfield zone. In these situations, expect Acosta to push forward more often, while the third midfielder is a more defensively-inclined option, like Ramiro Figueroa.

The fullbacks typically overlap a lot -- considering how often the wingers change sides and become "inverted" (i.e. cutting inside the defender on their stronger foot, rather than pulling wide) -- and seem to operate almost as advanced as wingbacks (or even midfielders against considerably weaker teams) a lot of the time, making the system a sort of like a 3-4-3 when Osarius attack, due to Costello (usually) dropping deeper to counter against a potential playmaker "in the hole" for the opposition.

Set piece preferences (in order):
Corner kick takers: Whichever wingers/wide forwards are on the pitch. Wesley Kane usually pulls rank since he's ambidextrous, though
Penalty takers: Roque Acosta, Toby Drummond, Wesley Kane, then... your call, I guess.
Free kick takers: Roque Acosta, Andrea Poynter, Wesley Kane (particularly when not shooting)
Long free kicks: A centre back (usually Riviello), or the goalkeeper (only really for offsides, really... or if Suarez starts)

You don't have to stick to all of that, though. It just fits in better with the way I intend to RP my team (when I can).

Something that is important to know is that football isnt the number on sport in Osarius. Its second, to GraviBall, though the gap is (still) closing.

Footballers in Osarius are popular for abstract reasons. Normally the main one is making tough tackles, because the combative nature of the game is what the majority of fans like most. Very passionate, are Osarian fans, you see. However, there is also an increasing appreciation for the cerebral footballer; be that a clever pass or a clever run that leads to a goal. Sooo... basically, if you're not creating/scoring goals or making crunching tackles, the fans generally aren't impressed. That goes for opponents too... Osarian fans always appreciate good football, so they will even applaud opposition players at times (although they will boo their goals, obvs).

The complicated tactical systems used by modern Osarian teams are well-understood by the fans, and a growing football blogging community within Osarius often has in-depth tactical discussion, and regularly posters show great insight. This is thought to be the result of a general increase in coaching quality throughout the nation, which has also contributed heavily to the national team's increased degree of success in recent years.

From time to time I'll make reference to the area a player is from, and when I do, I will try to add an OOC note to explain what it means (if relevant), because different regions of Osarius have almost entirely different cultures. For example, Tubrissian people's habits and sayings are heavily based on Phoenician/Carthaginian culture and religious beliefs; Islanders -- those from Kyoshiku/Kholanaras Island in the south-west -- have a warrior-centric culture and are quite insular; many Ikutursans worship a malevolent, erisian, serpent deity... and so on.

Manager: Jermain Lewis
Having pretty much cemented his place in the nation's football legend long before he started his non-playing career, the former Firewood City and Osarius captain has extended it considerably in the past decade. The gaffer has a well-documented hatred of losing, and some have suggested he is addicted to winning. It has rubbed off on his players. Though well into his sixties now, he still carries that air of "enforcer" that he always did as a player, and still commands respect in a similar way. Lewis would never claim to be a particularly tactical mind -- though he is no slouch when it comes to strategy; he does have an interest in game theory, too -- but it is his intangibles, the psychological attributes he possesses that make him a great manager. His mentor, Benedict di Corradi once said that a great manager inspires his players to want to play for him. There is no indication that Lewis has failed to do this with any of the one hundred plus players he has managed during his tenure.

Assistant Manager: Georgina Carsley
Replacing a legendary coach, to work under (or alongside, as Carsley would say) another legendary coach is a daunting task even for many legendary coaches. Carsley is unfazed. Having worked with Lewis for years, the former darling of the Greeningham City faithful was hand-picked by the gaffer himself to take on the assistant manager role starting with the AOCAF Cup last summer. A decision no doubt influenced by the fact that her predecessor, Elissa Barca-Carthy, was her mentor, drilling into her the same disciplined defensive principles that exist in almost every professional female player of that generation. Despite being short in the trophy department when compared to her colleagues, and despite the potential problems (as a woman) dealing with the testosterone charged dressing room, Georgina Carsley has always commanded respect. Despite her pleasant appearance -- even in her advanced years, Carsley still turns heads -- the players are said to fear her wrath even more than they do the gaffer's.

Other Non-Playing Staff
With the elevation of Georgina Carsley to assistant manager, and the departure of Jayson Dhanda to coach the Quebecois national team, Lewis had to reshuffle his backroom staff, despite coming off a successful cycle. Perhaps due to the success Lewis has brought to the national team, he wields greater influence within the OFA than ever, though, and has negotiated not only replacements for the departed faces, but also an increase in personnel.

Coaches: Lorenzo Ruiz, Harvey Decker, Serenity Lewis, Ayanna Barca-Carthy, Dean Richards
Lorenzo Ruiz retains his role as the team's primary technical coach, often working with Ayanna Barca-Carthy to refine the more delicate aspects of the game with the players; particularly the younger ones. Barca-Carthy's affinity for working with youngsters led to Lewis handing her the reins for the Rabastor Unity Trophy yet again this past summer -- under the stipulation she take an under-20 squad, as opposed to the under-23s she won it with two years ago -- and again, the Firebirds won. She appears to be the front-runner among those betting on the next national team manager, as it is assumed that Lewis will step down this cycle or the next. Barca-Carthy's past as national team captain affords her a lot of weight among the squad, too, though her relationship to them is more similar to the one her mother shared with them than either Jermain or Serenity Lewis does.

The gaffer's daughter, Serenity, made history as a player; becoming the first Osarius captain at a World Cup finals stage. Some may have felt her elevation to national team coach was nepotism, but she thoroughly disabused that notion quickly, gaining the trust and respect of the squad almost immediately with her intense, yet affable demeanour. Much like her father, she inspires the players to want to do better, except not necessarily for her.

Lewis has also noted that the team's defensive organisation might have weakened without Elissa Barca-Carthy to keep them in line, so he brought in former Grasshoppers Turic defender Harvey Decker. While Decker was never a top player in his own right, he was part of one of the best defences in Osarius for years, under Karl Heinz-Grichenbauer. Former Osarius and Turic defender Tay Gidds -- a close friend of Lewis' -- maintains that Decker's innate understanding of defending means he is one of the best coaches in the country for defensive positioning.

The final piece of Lewis' championship run puzzle apparently was a prolific goalscorer who can hone the inconsistencies inherent in the Osarian forwards (Ezio Grassi excluded, of course) into consistent deadliness. Richards spent his entire career at AFC Hollybrent, shouldering the burden of scoring for several years -- successfully. Some have suggested that, if not for recurrent injury trouble, and Hollybrent's rollercoaster form, Richards may have had an international career not too dissimilar to Grassi's. He would downplay this, but there is a lethal understanding of the art of goalscoring behind his quiet eyes. An understanding that, to an extent, he has seemingly passed on to Puntoriero at least, perhaps Pudoremu too. If this transfer of experience continues, Osarius need not concern themselves with the inevitable retirement of Ezio Grassi.

Specialist Coaches: Lana Schroeder (goalkeeping), Gabriele Esposito (strength and fitness)
Following the retirement of Traga, Gabriele Esposito takes over his duties -- in addition to his own strength training role -- and is a fitting choice, as the legendary trainer's most favoured student. Esposito appears likely to continue his mentor's legacy; "mental fitness training". The Fourgian also has experience working with football teams, having spent three years working with Trothwands Evolution prior to joining Traga's organisation.

Schroeder looks likely to remain national team goalkeeping coach for the foreseeable future, though. She recently passed up the opportunity to take the director role at the Enzo Corradini Goalkeeping Academy, preferring to take a less prominent role, in order to continue her work with the national team. Ruby Fletcher in particular has expressed great happiness at her mentor's decision, stating that "[she] wouldn't be half the goalkeeper [she is] if not for Lana's training."

Medical Team: Dr. Clara Cormega (physiotherapist), Dr. Vite Karusiki (team doctor), Dr. Elaine Tyne (psychologist)
Dr. Cormega's presence has been invaluable for Lewis in his attempts to maintain health among his squad. Between the niggling injuries from domestic campaigns his players are involved in, Lewis may have been forced to deviate from his long-term plans with regard to younger, emerging players, if not for Dr. Cormega's expert assistance in limiting recurrence and speeding recovery. It helps that Dr. Cormega has an excellent working relationship with Dr. Karusiki, and the two are able to combine their knowledge and experience to maximise efficacy.

Noting the increased burden on Dr. Karusiki with regard to attending to mental health -- and perhaps to address the lingering concerns over squad mentality -- Lewis implored the OFA to hire a dedicated psychologist for the team. Dr. Tyne comes highly recommended by her predecessor Dr. Bruni, who was also her mentor. The two have worked closely in the past, including Dr. Tyne's occasional involvement with the national team as an assistant psychologist. This familiarity with the national setup should serve her well.

Scouting Team: Roberto Cormega, Rene Wilson-Ouaddou, Elene Altieri
Something Osarius has never had in the past is a dedicated scouting team. Lewis insisted on this after the humiliating defeat at the hands of The Hakifao Isles during the last AOCAF Cup, and finally he has his wish. It was agreed that a scouting team would aid Lewis in his meticulous preparations, and to fill requirements, he called on one of the most knowledgeable coaches in Osarius (Cormega), a trusted old teammate (Wilson-Ouaddou) and the head scout working under another of his old teammates (Altieri; currently contracted to Hastmead Diamante, under Benni Watson). Of the three, only Wilson-Ouaddou is full-time with the national team, though Cormega's superior knowledge affords him the rank of chief scout. Lewis will be relying on the trio to provide him with detailed information on the lesser known opposition Osarius will face this cycle, as well as to find any weakness in the stronger opponents, as he aims to avoid any slip-ups. He knows all too well the threat posed by Super-Llamaland and Cosumar, for example, and every point will count if Osarius are to stay clear of them at the top of the group.

The Squad

As is customary, Jermain Lewis has named a "pool" of players from which he will select each matchday squad. Higher numbers correspond to players less likely to appear in a given match. The list will be edited later to reflect the final twenty-three players selected for the World Cup finals squad.

The absence of regular national team winger Nathaniel Doherty is noted -- OOCly, I realised I forgot him in the list, and can't be arsed to remake it -- though should be considered a part of the primary squad. The 29-year-old Ponyville United winger's intermittent injury troubles are thought to be a potentially serious hindrance to his performance and availability throughout the campaign, and his employers are loathe to part with him too regularly, knowing his playing time is a valuable, if limited, commodity.

Other veteran players, such as Acosta, Drummond and Grassi are expected to feature less in qualifying, as Lewis urges the transition to the younger generation. Rumours are abound that several older members of the squad had actually intended to retire from international football, convinced only by Lewis to take part in one more cycle, to guide the youth.

Typical starting XI: [4-3-3] Fletcher; Bocchetti, Rodriguez, Jaconelli, Harrison; Acosta/Costello, Mancini, Drummond/Poynter; Kane, Grassi/Puntoriero, Marshall/Doherty

Most common replacements: Padron, Riviello, Prince, Laccona, Velasquez, Pudoremu, Clarke, Bruno, Gallardo, Mora

Most promising youngsters: Barnes, Robertson, Samuels, Santana, Gomez, Mitchell, Bailey, Scott, Simpson

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 93 ] G.Q Disterfred II [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 24 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Young prospect Disterfred pushed Inura Forests into the top half of the Season 38 Declasse, earning player of the season honors at the club and earning recognition as a serious propsect for the National Team. Disterfred was a member of the AOCAF 41 Championship Winning side, but did not start any of the 7 matches en-route to the title. When head coach Nycflala Kater took a back seat early in the competition during AOCAF 42, however, Disterfred had his chance to play as Vilita & Turori earned their second consecutive AOCAF title. However, Disterfred's domestic career took a negative turn when Inura Forests were relegated out of the Vilitan League, prompting a cross-country transfer to the Kionao Locals in the Declasse division. Despite the strong leadership of Lita Adjei and good performances in the UICA Competitions, Kionao was unable to get promoted and eventually Disterfred would move to Turoki Isle in order to get a chance to play in the Stellar Division. Having played his whole career in Vilita, Disterfred was eventually convinced to return home to Turori when the chance to play at Cednia Beach AFC was presented, Disterfred being named the replacement for retiring Vilitan netminder Jaqe Planst.

------- D RLC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 41 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After spending 3 seasons being trained in Crosaibi at Marine Coast United, Edgeli made the switch down the coast to the Lonngeylin Coliseum for Season 43. While Strike were unable to win any silverware, Edgeli fit straight into the squad as one of the top performing defenders in the entire league earning instant plaudits and recognition back in Turori.

[ 57 ] Dmitri Levada [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 28 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After being part of the Vilita & Turori squad that won AOCAF 42, Levada was a member of the Cednia Beach AFC squad that won the Vilitan Cup during Season 43, and subsequently went on to win the 50th UICA Globe Cup, the first ever UICA Top-Level Champions from Turori.

[ 54 ] Oani Moralziia [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- D RL ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 31 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After being part of the Vilita & Turori squad that won AOCAF 42, Moralziia was a member of the Cednia Beach AFC squad that won the Vilitan Cup during Season 43, and subsequently went on to win the 50th UICA Globe Cup, the first ever UICA Top-Level Champions from Turori.

[ 52 ] Geafi Laina-Sola [ - Mliona-Lpaka AFC - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 28 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Laina-Sola started their career as a training in Inura before being spotted by the big clubs and playing a few seasons with Jlinal Cove and Makosile in Vilita. Then, however, the young Turorian defender finally made the big move home to Mliona-Lpaka in time for V-League Season 44.

[ 6 ] Inaosnaa Klanoa [ - Eastal Lunar (Vilita) - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 22 CAPS: 16 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Klanoa was named Eastal Lunar player of the season during Season 43 leading the team to the Declasse title and promotion to the Stellar Division.

[ 56 ] Majid Jedidi [ - Kiiarana City (Vilita) - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 13 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Jedidi made the move from Turori to Kiiarana City on the western shore of Vilita prior to V-League season 44.

[ 56 ] Yitizo Mpala'a [ - Eelandii Academy - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 22 ] Klaillal Tuirma [ - Mliona-Lpaka - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 28 CAPS: 60 :: GOALS::SR: 9 )
Descendant of Season 4 Turorian Player of the Season and National team legend Cuolia Tuirma, Klaillal will work with Restiaa Mumamba to become the future "All-Around" player for the Turori National Team. Playing in a unique role, Tuirma will be expected to fill the role of being able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there are no subs left. Tuirma will certainly be starting as a substitute during their debut campaign in World Cup 62 but may get the chance to start against weaker opposition. After being brought up through the academy system at Kionao, Tuirma signed a professional contract with Colonial Sile in Vilita for Season 35, winning silverware in the first match, the Tropical Trophy triumph over Strike. Tuirma's stay in Sile didn't last long, however, coaxed back to the luxury of Arcticala Inlet to help in their Champions-Cup qualifying campaign of Season 38. Tuirma returned to Turori during Season 44 as a member of Mliona-Lpaka AFC

[ 22 ] Restiaa Mumamba [ - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 36 CAPS: 132 :: GOALS::SR: 7 )
Mumamba was the definition of a versatile player for Vilita's Yeaddin Owls after joining them for the V-League 27 season from Jlinal Cove FC. Mumamba played in every position from Central Defender to Striker, scoring a game winning goal in one game and a game saving tackle in the next. Mumamba is an expert choice for a third sub or to allow tactical changes on the pitch without substitutions being made. The strong and versatile performances of Mumamba during Season 28 earned Mumamba a high profile transfer to defending Stellar Division champions Arcticala Inlet but he left the Electricians the following season to be apart of the growing Yeaddin Owls squad. Mumamba spent 4 seasons in Yeaddin without recording any meaningful domestic awards other than the Season 29 Turorian Player of the Season award. The lure of international competition was too great for Mumamba who joined the Turoki Tide for Season 34, doing so in time for their 43rd UICA Cycle run. Mumamba helpd the Tide lift the UICA Globe Cup and UICA Super Cup, one of three Turorian players on the roster for the Tide's Triumph. However, after achieving glory with the Tide, Mumamba returned to his former club Yeaddin, vowing to one day bring the same success back to the Lirai Asku Castle.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 22 ] Etamara Kulkkiia [ - AC Izotz Zubia (AUD) - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 92 :: GOALS::SR: 11 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Kulkkiia was developed at the Cednia Beach Academy having been highly scouted and recruited by teams throughout Turori and even Vilita. After the Turori Eels failure to qualify for World Cup 64, Kulkkiia became the subject of media attention questioning whether the aging crop of players should make way for younger players like Kulkkiia in the Esportiva-hosted Cup of Harmony for World Cup 64. Kulkkiia added his name to the long line of major transfers involving Cednia Beach after being transferred to SC Montfort in the Licentian Isles prior to Season 42

[ 23 ] Inlite Makakio [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 52 :: GOALS::SR: 11 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
The twin brother of Strike FC attacking sesation Enluta Makakio, Inlite started his career as 2 time player of the year at Inura Forests before making the jump to Vilita, eventually landing a transfer to Arcticala Inlet for V-League season 44.

[ ] Aiden Varess [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 20 CAPS: 23 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

[ ] Kigaoua Oalalka [ - Lonngeylin City (VIL) - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 22 CAPS: 38 :: GOALS::SR: 7 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Oalalka never could get settled down in Vilita, taking trial runs at clubs such as the Turoki Tide, Inland Peaks and Mavaloiao before switching gears and looking at international transfer options. Eventually however, after 4 international seasons, Oalalka landed in Lonngeylin at Strike FC. Serving a bit-part role, the young Turorian would make the switch across town to Lonngeylin City to get regular playing time.

[ ] Nubara Moafalia [ - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 14 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After coming up throught the academy system at Mliona-Lpaka, Moafalia saw the opportunity to become a star player for the Yeaddin Owls - trading in his role as a substitute in Turori for the limelight at the Lirai Asku Castle ahead of V-League season 44.

[ ] Teliima Loinara [ - Sporta Eelandii - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 19 CAPS: 16 :: GOALS::SR: 6 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

[ ] Mbdiai Akarenaa [ - Eelandii Academy - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 3 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

FORWARDS:

[ 34 ] Inamari Altariiz [ - Mliona-Lpaka - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 65 :: GOALS::SR: 20 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Altariiz was instantly identified as a high-quality prospect at Mliona-Lpaka and was promoted to the senior squad at 16 years of age taking up a starting role in Mliona-Lpaka's Season 38 campaign. Altariiz was named Mliona-Lpaka's player of the season for 39 & 40 in addition to being named Turorian Player of the Season during Season 40 after leading MLiona-Lpaka to the Vilitan Cup title.

[ 31 ] Matlya Eelador [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 43 :: GOALS::SR: 16 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Although Eelador was never known as being the most prolific scorer in the Vilitan League, he regularly put forth consistent performances for his club. Eelador was a member of the Cednia Beach AFC squad that won the Vilitan Cup during Season 43, and subsequently went on to win the 50th UICA Globe Cup, the first ever UICA Top-Level Champions from Turori.

[ 24 ] Enluta Makakio [ - Strike FC (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 40 :: GOALS::SR: 20 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After coming through the ranks in Kionao, Makakio's performances got the attention of the scouts at Strike FC who signed the young Turorian attacker for their Season 39 campaign.

[ ] Mirana Gotuai [ - Mist City Floatzels (NSI) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 18 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Gotuai left with his family to the warmth of the Northern Sunrise Islands but never stopped playing the sport he loved, joining the Mist City Floatzels. Not looking to lose track of this potentially exciting attacking prospect, the Turorian Football Association invited Gotuai to train and travel with the team during Qualifications for World Cup 68. Gotuai made a surprise debut appearance for the Eels as a half-time substitute against Gregoryisgodistan and did one better by scoring the equalizing goal late in the match to keep Turori's unbeaten World Cup 68 Qualifying record in tact.

[ ] Meldi'ita Mungwaii [ - Eastal Lunar (VIL) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 16 CAPS: 6 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After 2 seasons at Inura Forests, leading the club in Scoring with 29 goals in Season 45 and the Player of the Season award, Mungwaii earned a high-profile transfer to Vilitan Stellar Division side Eastal Lunar for Season 46

[ ] Wiztsana Iretziia [ - Eelandii Academy - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]

The Tropical Republic of Sarrbia - National Soccer Team - World Cup 71

Image

Sarrbia is an archipelago in southwestern meridian Rushmore, near New Sirain, Whirl Islands and Cotdelapoms. It is a paradise known for its abundance of white-sand beaches, palm trees and beautiful bikini-clad women. In the sporting world, Sarrbia is noted for its equal love of beach and association football, having hosted two editions of the Beach Cup in the past.

The Sarrbians reached a peak world ranking of #48 after qualifying for World Cup 56, but have since faded into relative obscurity. Please note that the Sarrbian squad is mixed male and female. All players come from Futbalo Asocio Sarrbi (FAS), the domestic league of Sarrbia and New Sirain, unless marked with another flag.

Head Coach

Elías Carrasco
Following the retirement of former boss Ernesto Farías the FFS eschewed their usual pursuit of a big name foreign replacement and instead went for the continuity option, by promoting Farías’ assistant coach to the big blue chair. Took the Corsairs to the World Cup at the first time of asking and lifted the Copa Rushmori.

Backroom Staff

Assistant Head Coach: Alejandro Echeverría
Defensive Coach: Germán Moya
Attacking Coach: Rubén Contreras
Goalkeeping Coach: Silvio Romero
Fitness Coach: Sergio Castellanos
Technical Coordinator: Rodrigo Defederico
Team Doctor: Dr Iván Morelli

Talent

GK: 1. Armando Abad (33) – Dínamo Maturín
That number one spot is now officially undisputed following the retirement of Ezequiel Medrán. A talented shot stopper who occupies the role of sweeper keeper in Carrasco’s attack oriented side.
GK: 13. Rafael Molino (25) – Ciudad Soluca
Released by Ciudad as a teenager but bought back for a large amount of currency in the summer following four excellent seasons at Alianza Jucaro.
GK: 25. Emilio León (28) – Sportivo Soluca
A regular in the Sportivo goal at the age of just 19, big things were expected of the young shot stopper and he’s largely delivered on that promise.

DR: 2. Cristiano Damían (31) – Dínamo Maturín
Back in the SuperLiga fold after a productive spell in Astograth, the former Ciudad Soluca trainee has found his feet quickly at his new club. A fallback by trade but pushed further forward in the coach’s offensive-first formation.
DRC: 5. Guillermo Lucena (28) – Ciudad Soluca
A favourite of previous coach Farías after serving him well in the Under-21 team, the Olympic Squad and at Ciudad. A solid defender with an excellent reading of the game. Equally adept at centreback or fallback.
DC: 6. Sergio Ayala (24) – El Nacional
A classy, ball-playing centreback in the classical Gozan model. Ayala has both pace and poise, a combination that has got the coaching staff at the Independiente very excited indeed.
DL: 3. Mauricio Abeyta (30) – Alianza Jucaro
A buccaneering fallback who clearly longs to be a winger. An attacking threat down the left with a powerful shot and accurate cross. Unfortunately his defensive duties are sometimes forgotten.
DLC: 12. José Antonio Caro (23) – Sportivo Soluca
Plucked from the Academy of arch-rivals Ciudad, Sportivo’s scouts allowed themselves a smug smile as the defender blossomed into a top performer. Naturally left footed, Caro provides a handy option to balance out Carrasco’s favoured three man defence.
DRC: 14. Javier Bonilla (22) – Alianza Jucaro
A right back by trade who often gets shoved into the centre during Alianza coach Barragán’s numerous tactical switches. Had an excellent debut season in the first team and now considered undroppable. The fact his father owns the club doesn’t hurt either.
DLC: 19. Jonás Jacinto (31) – Ciudad Soluca
Made a surprise move from Segunda Liga side Motril to capital city giants Ciudad and hasn’t looked back. Mr Reliable at the back for both Ciudad and the national side. Now captains Sargossa following the retirement of Sosa.
DC: 21: Aurelio Pascual (34) – Sportivo Cordova
Only a dearth of strong centrebacks has kept Pascual out of national team reckoning for this long. But after strong domestic season has finally seen the Cordova man force his way into the squad where he provides an experienced option.

MC: 4. Eduardo Zacarías (27) – Ciudad Soluca
A midfielder with tremendous lung capacity. His box-to-box runs were a key part of Dunas Del Sol’s excellent domestic form before he was snatched up by the club from the capital.
AMR: 7. Xabier Sola (22) – Sporting San Marquez
The latest boy from the barrios to make a name for himself at the Estadio Silva. Xabier provides both pace and power down the flank but a lack of composure in the final third show that there’s still some edges to be smoothed on this rough diamond.
MC: 8. Alejandro Rodríguez (24) – Sporting San Marquez
The youth setup at the Estadio Silva has a long history of unearthing gems and the unquestionable cream of the crop and subject of this rather laboured metaphor is Rodríguez. The obvious solution to the Rodrigo Defederico shaped hole in the national squad.
AML: 11. Federico Cifuentés (28) – Dínamo Maturín
It’s entirely possible that Federico could have represented Sargossa at the Olympic 100m, such is the pace hidden away in his diminutive frame. A real terror for opposition fallbacks, although a consistent delivery shy of being genuinely world class.
AMRC: 15. Flavio Freitas (30) – El Nacional
A tireless attacking midfielder whose impressive work rate and never say die attitude make him a firm favourite among Gozans and neutrals alike.
MC: 16. Germán Sauseda (29) – Ciudad Soluca
Midfield playmaker with a prestigious range of passing. Sauseda stood out in a fairly average Porto Alegro Azul side that consistently punched above its weight. Brought to Ciudad by Ernesto Farías during his spell in charge.
DMC: 18. Mateo Olmedo (29) – Alianza Jucaro
The latest in a long line of talented midfielder anchor-men produced by our mighty archipelago. Prone to nosebleeds if he crosses the halfway line.
DMC: 22. Tino Devesa (23) – Dunas Del Sol
Another of those midfield battlers we seem so keen on developing. But unlike some of his illustrious predecessors Devesa also possesses excellent technical and isn’t prone to feeling all feint if he stumbles into the opposition half.
AMLC: 24. Julio César Merino (26) – Dínamo Maturín
A top assist provider in the domestic league and one dangerous crosser of a football. Dínamo have been fighting of suitors for the midfielder for years.

FC: 9. Federico Noyola (29) – Sporting San Marquez
Yet another gem unearthed from the barrios of San Marquez and polished by ‘El Academia’. Has an uncanny knack of being in the right place and the right time and has proved a scourge of SuperLiga defences because of it. Has replaced Federico Ferreyra as the penalty area predator.
FC: 10. Stefano Bustos (32) – Sportivo Soluca
At 6’4” the Sportivo targetman is a real threat in the air and adds the perfect option if ‘hoof it to the big fella’ is required.
FC: 17. Miguel De Los Santos (23) – Daroca Marinos
After two years of banging in goals galore during loan spells in the Segunda Liga Miguel was given his SuperLiga baptism of fire last season and took the opportunity with both hands. Now a highly coveted striking prospect that the Marinos will do well to hold onto.
FRC: 20. Saturnín Quinteros (31) – Ciudad Soluca
Big things were expected of a forward who caught the attention with a seventy four goal season for one of Ciudad’s many youth teams. Often used as an attacking midfielder at club level by Farías so more of the same could be expected.
FL: 23. Enzo Jara (26) – Sportivo Soluca
An out-and-out winger who offers pure pace down the flank. Capable of tying opposition defenders up in knots but often lacking composure in the final third.

Schedule

Big matches are hosted in our rather fancy Nethertopian built 109,000 capacity Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado in the Sargossan capital of Soluca.

Roster

Coach: Christopher Tajo Mendez

Vice-Coach: Vince Young

Goalkeepers:

1- Bradley Kozak Cooper [Team: Mariner F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 196 lbs - Age: 29 years old - Starter
Cooper was born into a world of soccer as his parents were both players in the National League, Cooper’s father sent him to the prestigious Dock City Soccer Academy at the age of five. Cooper played as a Defender till the age of 15, As a last minute decision his coach made him take the spot of Goalkeeper after the goalkeeper was injured. In the remaining twenty minutes of the game Cooper had over eight saves and his team went on to win the game 3-2 and become his teams new starting goalkeeper. Recruiting agents from the National League watching the game noted Coopers ability as an effective goalkeeper and continued to watch his performances throughout that season. Before Cooper could start yet another season at his academy he was recruited and signed by Riverton F.C a team in the National League. Cooper played for Riverton for nine years and in the middle at age 18 started playing for the United States of Devonta national men’s soccer team as a substitute goalkeeper against in the region of North Valheaven and North America Paradise. At the age of 23 he became the starting goalkeeper and helped make his nations team the #1 ranked team in his region. In a surprising decision Riverton F.C traded him for three players from Mariner F.C where he plays today.

Cooper is known for his ultra fast hand-eye coordination, which allows him to move quickly and almost mystically in the goalie box. The ever observant Cooper is good at keeping track of the ball and can easily perform perfect passes and goalie kicks. Known also to play through pain and refuse to give up or let himself done. He is known to be very caring towards children and is a strong supporter of welfare programs.

7- Brandon Lee Kowalski [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 170 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Kowalski started playing soccer at an early age at his local recreational centers team. During his highschool years he played on the national stage in the youth soccer league while playing for his high school as the topped ranked varsity goalkeeper in the country. When he graduated at the age of 17 he was instantly recruited by the Carter Villa F.C as a substitute goalkeeper. He has proudly stayed with the team through its worst and last season became the team's starting goalkeeper replacing Tim Snyder. Finally he was chosen to play for the national team the same year. He still waits for a chance to prove himself on the international level.

Kowalski is known for being a very quick and observant goalie and very timid, Usually sticking to the box instead of attacking. He is also known for being very flexible. Kowalski is very loyal to his teams and it can get him in fights against rival teams.

11- Nicolas El Nunez [Santa Julia Rockets]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 152 lbs - Age: 25 - Substitute
Nunez played in local leagues around Santa Julia most of his child life before making it on the Washington Heights High school’s varsity soccer team as a freshman. He played well but also had his bad games. He managed to make it in his cities minor national league team and played well there for most of his soccer career. Finally at the age of 25 after two good seasons he was offered a two year contract by Bull F.C but he rejected it saying he likes the minor leagues friendly environment better and nothing could change that. Nunez did go to the national training camp and managed to do the unthinkable and beat out many of the major league goalkeepers causing a massive upset.

Nunez is known for being cocky which makes him a very aggressive goal keeper sometimes even running at attacking strikers to get the ball, This sometimes backfires on him and they get past him, Although he catches many by surprise.

Left Defenders [Left Fullbacks/Wingers]:

2- Johnson Alexander Brooks [Strickland F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 155 lbs - Age: 32 - Starter
Brooks did not always play soccer but instead played basketball as a point guard which he soon figured out had the same concept as a left winger which he started playing when he tried soccer in 8th grade, After realizing his love for the game he joined a national soccer training program and rapidly gained the skills needed to be a top player in the sport. He played one year for his high school then graduated. After high school he went to college at Desmound State where only in his first season he was recruited by Carter Villa F.C and played seven long years with the team scoring 20 goals as a left winger. As he wanted more opportunity, He played in the nation of Neo-Liberalis for five years on two different teams before returning and being signed with Strickland F.C where he has played his last two seasons at. It was no surprise to soccer critics when the #1 defender in the country was picked for the national team, Making him the oldest member of the team too.

Brooks is known for being quick and waiting for the right moments to strike out at an unsuspecting player and being able to drive the ball up and make quick precise passes or relatively accurate long shots towards the opposing teams goal. Its known by all players in his league that he never brags or acts like a sore loser and always has an upbeat attitude.

3- Jose Manzano Alvarez [Astro F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Alvarez played soccer in the Youth Soccer League in Santa Julia, New Julia before he started playing for his high school for four years, Although he was considered good and one of the best players in New Julia he was not recruited, But given a scholarship to New Julia University where he played all four of his college years and won one best player award and two best defender awards. After graduation he was finally recruited by a major league team which was his hometowns Astro F.C. Soon after his recruitment into the football club he was invited to the national teams training camp. Alvarez successfully finished camp and was selected to play for the national team.

Alvarez seems to know when to attack another player for the ball or play more cautiously, Making it hard for players to get past him. Despite being able to steal and retrieve the ball he sometimes manages to lose the ball in sloppy fast paced dribbles and does not have the best long passes, Although his speed makes up the distance usually. Alvarez his an active community organizer and donates to charities often.

Center Defenders [Center Backs/Sweepers]:

5- Martin Paul Benton [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 188 lbs - Age: 20 - Starter
A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, Resulting in a 1-0 loss. Benton was driven to make it in the mens national team by his haunting mistake, That he did and as the second youngest player on the team.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

6- Daniel Kay Kindred [Nordland F.C]
Height: 6’4 - Weight: 223 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Kindred started playing soccer in the 6th grade for his middle school. By high school he made his varsity team his freshman year and in his Junior year was recruited by his state's only professional team Nordland F.C. at the age of seventeen. He was taller than most of the players on his team and known to be intimidating when you meet him. His taller stature also made him a natural born center back. He made himself known in the professional league as a tall player and can beat most in a jumping battle. After five years in Nordland F.C. he was loaned off for three years to a professional team in the nation of Seggenea. After a successful time in Seggenea and a best defender reward in that country, He was given back to Nordland F.C. and played two more seasons and scoring an unprecedented goal from midfield aided by the wind in his returning seasons quarter-finals. Kindred as a natural defender easily made it into the national teams trading camp and was quickly selected.

Kindred's large size makes him an excellent jumper and he his not afraid to throw his weight around or slide tackle with his large feet, Although he can get to aggressive and fouls are a worry when he plays. His mighty long legs make his work as a centre back easy. Attacking he is more clumsy so he chooses to stay on his half of the field unless instructed otherwise.

8- Micco Chi Takishima [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 140 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Takishima went to Braden Soccer Academy for most of his youth soccer career, Till his last two years of high school when he was transferred to Wesley Soccer Academy. His performance his last two years got him in a local minor league team for three years, By the time agents came to observe his minor league team he was the best defender on his team and was signed to Harding F.C. and played two average seasons. In the middle of this he joined the national guard and played for his bases soccer team. The experience in the army was different than in the major league although he quickly adapted. Takishima found it hard to get selected for the national team but was ultimately accepted.

Takishima short size make him quick and agile and he is usually on the attack, This has its setbacks sense he sometimes strayed too far from his position as center back and goes to the mid field. He also suffers from anger problems which he tries to control.

Right Defenders [Right Fullback/Winger]:

7- Brayden Liam Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 174 lbs - Age: 25 - Starter
Liam started playing soccer at the age of 10, Since then he fell in love. Playing for his high school he received every best player reward from his school for the four years he was there. After high school he played soccer at Ceceila State University for three years before being signed by Danza F.C a professional football club in his junior year. Liam played well for Danza but a rocky third year prompted Danza to trade him to Ceceila United F.C. Coming back from a bad season playing for a different team Liam contributed in his teams championship victory the first year he was on there team. Liam to the offer to go train and try out at the national teams training camp and was a quite easy pick to join the team.

Liam prefers a slow paced controlled dribble and is not as fast as the other players on his team, Although he is the best a dribbling and noted for his crossing capabilities. His slow dribble can be a problem as many players take opportunities to steal the ball, Although his slow pace usually can draw fouls from this. As a Winger his control allows for great passes and shots that are usually on goal.

9- Eric James Martin [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 167 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Martin was not introduced to soccer till he decided to try out for his high schools soccer team at a freshman and made junior varsity. The next year he was pushed up to the varsity team and in the next three years. In his senior year his high school won the state championship partly because of him. Martin then went to college at Langston University where he played soccer for two years having an okay first season and a good second season, His performance in the second season of his college career earned him a chance to play for Real Langston F.C which he proudly took and signed with the team for two years. Martin had an exciting but still disappointing first year. He had his good and bad moments and critics were a shocked by his poor performance. Looking for another opportunity to shine Martin found himself at the national teams training camp and was selected for the roster.

Martin is a quick Right Fullback and he is not afraid to challenge an opponent for the ball, Although this can backfire if his opponent is good at crossing but his speed makes up for any lost ground. Martin is known for only being able to play on the right side of the field and normally played poorly in the center and left side of the field.

Defensive Midfielder:

4- Isaiah Brandon Russell [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 177 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Russell’s father was a soccer coach for a local youth soccer program which Russell was made to play on. Russell’s father was very hard on Russell and was pressured often to do better, By the time he was in high school he had already been selected to play for a local minor league team. Russell played four years with the team and also played for his high school's varsity team. After graduating high school he was offered a four year contract to play for Danza F.C, Which he proudly accepted. Playing for Danza he seen the team make it to the semi-finals twice in a row. In a three year loan Danza traded him to Nordland F.C. At Nordland he shined with the rest of its strong defense although he played on the midfield. After three years at Nordland F.C. he was then resigned to Danza F.C. and signed another four year contract similar to his first. Two years into his contract he has seen many successes although his team has seen better days. Russell easily made it on to the national team.

Russell is not a good all around player and plays best as a defensive midfielder, He is quick and knows how to mark men and pass well, He seems to work best in tight situations and does not disappoint. He has admitted that he needs to work on his crossing and needs to improve his average level dribble.

10- Marco Hernandez Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 145 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He is suspected to be a starter for the team next season. Hernandez surprisingly was selected to play for the national team after a excellent show at the national training camp.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

Left Midfielders:

12- Mohamed Zari Abdullah [Mandiana F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 175 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Son of two muslim immigrants from a war torn middle eastern nation, Abdullah was born in the United States of Devonta. His father had only brought the clothes on his back and a soccer ball which he passed on to young Abdullah. Abdullah was invited to play for Maxwell Soccer Academy and accepted the invitation. Playing for the academy for most of his child and teenage life, Leading his team to win four championships and winning various awards. At the age of 17 he was drafted as a first round pick to play for Strickland F.C. for four years. He played for four years at the football club for his four years and got his team to the semi-finals twice. After his four years expired he went north to the nation of Rygristan and played for two years, Winning a championship there and a best player award both years he was there. When he returned instead of joining his old team he signed a five year contract with the struggling Mandiana F.C. Four years in his five year contract Abdullah has played very well for the once struggling football club. He has one championship with the team and has been to the semi-finals with the club. Rumors say he plans on staying with the team and resigning when his current contract ends, Although no one can guess what the #1 midfielder will do next.

Abdullah has described himself as a devout Muslim and prays on the side of the field every game. He is known for his versatility on all sections of the field, Defense or Offense, Left or right he can play. Dribbling, passing, crossing, and striking are his main perks. The only thing that brings him down is he can sometimes become a ball hog.

13- Tony Lamont Phillips [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Phillips played soccer for a youth league team most of his childhood till the age of 17, When he was selected to play for a minor league team. After just one year with the minor league team and a bad season he terminated his contract and started attending Franks University where had two perfect seasons and brought his team to the semi-finals his second year. After his second year he was drafted as a second round pick by Real Langston F.C. and signed a two year contract. Both seasons where good for Phillips and critics noticed he evolved a lot from when he played at a university level. Real Langston made it to the quarterfinals twice but have not made it any further. Phillips herd of the opportunity to try out for the national team and he took it. After much hard work he managed to make the team.

Phillips is known for his ability to mark men and steal the ball with quick reflexes. He knows how to get around people and make long passes, Although he tends only to be good playing in a defensive rule and performance varies when he is attacking. Phillips can get very frustrated at players and officials but usually manages to control it.

15- Anthony Don Crox [Devonta City Capitals]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. By the time he graduated he received a scholarship to play for Kanza University and he took it over three other scholarships. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, A minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. Crox was one of the few minor league players invited to the national teams training camp and in an impressive feat was selected to play for the national team.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

Right Midfielders:

14- DeMonte Creole Edwards [Harding F.C]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 179 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Edwards started playing soccer as a little boy playing local neighborhood kids in his backyard. At age ten he was admitted into the youth league and they soon recognized his potential on the national level. His youth team won two championships and made it to the semi-finals three times, Partly do to Edwards efforts on the team. When he started high school he started to play for his high school team. His high school team went on to win the national championship and his youth team made it to the quarter finals. A year after playing soccer for his high school he left his youth team and joined a minor league team. The next three years he saw his high school team go to three quarter finals and his minor league team make it to the quarter finals twice and semi-finals once, Many critics were not surprised when he was signed to a four year contract with Harding F.C. after he finished his time on his minor league team and graduated high school. The four years playing for Harding F.C. brought four disappointing seasons although Edwards played well and managed to bring his team to the semi-finals his second year. Edwards was loaned out to a team in Seggenea for four years, Managing to led his team there to two trips to the championships losing both. Edwards took the chance to attend the national teams training camp and after beating out some hard competition he was selected to be on the national team and resigned with Harding F.C. hoping for better results.

Edwards is a solid midfielder and is known for his abilities to dribble and control the ball, His shooting abilities from long range and up close are also on par with some of the best, This ability to shoot allows him to be an effective passer also. Edwards struggles to sometimes stay in his spot and sometimes breaks formation.

16- Julius Xander Washington [Mandiana F.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. When he graduated after limited success in the youth league other than a few awards, He attended George Town State University and played two surprisingly well seasons for his team, Breaking his universities record for assists and sending them to the semi-finals his last year. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., An emerging professional soccer club. In his first year as a substitute he played well and helped the team to the semi-finals. Washington was invited to tryout at the national teams training camp and he soon accepted the invitation, After hard work and a determined effort Washington was selected for the national team.

Washington is a moderately fast midfielder who is very versatile, Although he plays better on the offense. His abilities to control the ball and keep it are widely noted. He struggles with finding openings to pass but shows he is willing to learn from more senior players on his team.

20- Alexander Graham Jones [Mariner F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 21 - Substitute
Alexander played soccer for his local youth soccer league before he joined his high schools varsity soccer team leading them to a city wide championship twice in his four years of playing for his high school, After high school he managed to get signed onto a minor league where he played two great seasons but with limited success. Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., In just one season he helped his team to the quarter-finals and became a noted player. Jones received an invite to the national teams training camp for tryouts and proudly accepted it, After a superb effort he managed to make the national team.

Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Offensive Midfielders:

17- Tyrell LaMarcus Owens Jr. [Riverton F.C.]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 22 - Starter
Owens was the son of a minor league soccer player and was raised into a life of soccer. As a kid his dad made him spend countless hours practicing in his backyard. He soon joined his high schools varsity team and dominated on the statewide level. After high school was offered a chance to play for a minor league team or attend a university and play on a college level. Owens chose to play for Three Forks University and led his team to a semi-final and a championship. After two years playing for his college team he was drafted by Riverton F.C. and signed a four year contract. Since joining the professional football club he has helped his team to the semi-finals and the quarter-finals. After a good season he was invited to attend the tryouts taking place at the nationals teams training camp which he accepted. Owens passed through tryouts relatively easily.

Owens is known for his short burst of fast energy which allows him to get around other players. This also makes him good at crossing, shooting, and passing. He lacks from a defensive standpoint.

18- Salomon Van Bundy [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 162 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Bundy played soccer in his early childhood but quit soccer to play basketball. By the time he reached high school he decided to give soccer another try and joined his high schools varsity soccer team. Through the next four years of high school he made himself known with in his city and with in his state, Many critics were surprised when he was not offered any contracts by a professional league team. He settled for a scholarship to play soccer at Humphrey University where he played with some success his next four years, Helping his team to three quarter-finals and a semi-final. Finally after long negotiations with Danza F.C. he was admitted into the professional league for a two year contract. He helped Danza F.C. to the quarter-finals his first year. Bundy took a shot at tryouts for the national team and was selected after a hard decision.

Bundy is known for being able to play in fast paced type games and can mark players and pass well, This also reflects on his shooting capabilities. He lacks when it comes to defense and ball control.

Forwards:

19- Gerald Van Johansen [Harding F.C.]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 173 lbs - Age: 22 - Starter
Johansen’s father was a professional soccer player and loved soccer almost as much as his family it seems like. From his first steps in school he attended Gulf Coast Soccer Academy competing against youth league teams and other academies across the nation. He made himself known across the nation and lead his team to many high profile matches and lead his university to four championships. At the age of seventeen he graduated the academy early after signing with Harding F.C. a professional league team, The contract lasted four years. During his first game he wowed the United States of Devonta with his performance in his first match, He continued to impress to the point it was no longer surprising. It was not soon after his second year he became the #1 ranked forward in the league. Though he played well his team struggled as a whole till a better line up was made and the team made it to two championships, but lost both. He resigned with Harding F.C. for three years and passed easily through tryouts for the national team.

Johansen is known for his fast attacking capabilities, He has noted skills in crossing, ball handling, shooting, and works best in crowded environments it seems. Johansen as great focus and is also a capable all around versatile player his only problem is he tends to not like to pass the ball.

21- Lamar Samuel Adams [Danza F.C.]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 157 lbs - Age: 17 - Starter
Adams attended the Dock City Soccer Academy most of his child life, He quickly made himself known and became noted around the United States of Devonta, Helping his college expand their soccer dynasty. By the age of 17 he was already in talks with the professional league, He signed with Danza F.C. for two years in a deal that was reported around the nation. Adams became the youngest player in the league when he signed his contract. His first year at Danza F.C. went well but his team only made it to the quarter-finals. Adams was invited to the national teams training camp and proudly accepted, It was no surprise when he was chose as a starting forward, Making him the youngest player on the national team.

Adams is a quick versatile Forward, Using his speed to make good crosses and get through defenders, His dribbling and control are also noted. Shooting seems almost basic to him. Adams has also shown is worth defending using his speed. Adams sometimes gets too frustrated or has problems with bragging about his goals.

22- Michael Jay Geithner [Astro F.C.]
Height: 6’0 - Weight: 183 lbs - Age: 23 - Substitute
Geithner played soccer all through his childhood for local youth leagues around his city. He failed to make it on his high schools team during his freshman year and it drove him to try hard his next year. The next year he made the varsity team and brought his team to two city wide championships, After receiving an offer to play for a foreign professional team for four years in the nation of Neo-Liberalis he accepted because a lack of offers in the United States of Devonta. During his time in Neo-Liberalis Geithner seen his team they’re go to two semi-finals, After his contract was over Astro F.C. asked him for a two year contract and he accepted. His first year seen Astro F.C. make it to the quarter-finals. After receiving an invitation to the national teams training camp he accepted and barely made the national team.

Geithner is a slower paced forward and uses his ability to control the ball and dribble as his advantages, He tends to not work well in very fast paced games and is not good a defense. Geithner is good at getting players to foul him too.

23- Noah Lamont Hill [Strickland F.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 173 lbs - Age: 26 - Substitute
Hill played soccer most of his childhood in different youth soccer leagues across the his hometown. When he became a freshman in high school he opted out of playing for his high school and was offered a chance to play in the national youth league, Which he accepted. He had good and bad seasons but managed to get his team to two quarter-finals. By the age of eighteen Hill was offered a chance to play for a professional team in the nation of Rygristan for four years and he accepted. In his four years in Rygristan he brought his team to a championship and semi-finals. Recruiting agents noticed his success and he was signed onto Strickland F.C. for a large five year contract. In his four years there Strickland F.C. has made it to the quarter-finals twice and semi-finals twice. Hill received an invitation to tryout at the national teams training camp, Which he accepted. After a close selection he was chosen to play on the national team.

Hill is known for his ability to mark men and pass, He also is known for his headers. He lacks when it comes to crossing and ball control.

Manager
Name: Steffan Pekarik
Age: 55
First Cycle: 69
Record: The FFFF will go back and check someday
Win Percentage: The FFFF will calculate it someday
Description: Pekarik once played for the Terns as a left-back. Well, not once, but a hundred and forty one times. He managed to get fifteen assists and six goals and even captained his country once. On club level, he played for East Franz Athletic, Urajbina of Kagdazka and Pazhujebu, and then FC Axel Heiburg, winning the Champions' Cup as captain before retiring and going into a coaching role with the club. Later followed manager Morten Rasmussen to the Terns to become assistant manager through all the Terns' final appearances. And now comes the weird part, he prefers defensively strong formations. Yet he's now managing Farfadillis. After a decade learning from Rasmussen, it was about time Steffan started to do things on his own, though. Steffan is famously hard on his players if they're found to be guilty of complacency or lazy play, and he drills his players hard on the training pitch. Some Farf players have caused him a couple of headaches as a result, Terán being the worst offender. He's not afraid of ruffling feathers with popular/lazy/show pony players. He'll take no prisoners, suffer no fools, and allow no airs or graces. Everyone works hard, everyone gets the rewards. That's the philosophy he'll try to make prevail facing the particularly eccentric national team he's chosen. The fight's been hard so far, and, though he's not achieved the best of results, he sure has been making the team progress, at least defensively. Naturally, he's aiming for more than what he's achieved so far, and in that he can finally agree with his team.

Assistant Manager
Name: Casper Baek
Age: 48
First Cycle: 69
Description: Casper Baek has been one of the most celebrated one-club-players in recent Valhallan history. Turning out his entire career for FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls until he reached forty and finally retired, Baek has eased naturally into a caching role, and his vast playing experience will be a valuable resource for any team that employs him. He has a keen eye for man-management, so whenever Pekarik gets angry and shouts at people, it will be Baek who picks them up, dusts them down, and tells them they can do it. Nonetheless, he will be a loyal assistant to Pekarik.

Medic
Name: Radek Greve
Age: 46
First Cycle: 69
Description: Radek Greve now holds the title of first medic of the Farf national football team. When Pekarik arrived, he quickly noticed that the FFFF had never appointed a medic, and soon suggested him. Rossizzo, the manager who preceded him, somehow had failed to notice the lack of a medic. Radek is a very serious professional despite the cirumstances he find himself in now.

Scout
Name: Jon Veen
Age: 50
First Cycle: 69
Description: Veen is a short, quiet and somewhat shy man, but his scouting skills are astonishing. He's got videos of just about any match that has been played, and always provides Pekarik with vital information of both Farf players and opposing players. He's also got a sharp eye for talent-spotting, and can somehow tell, roughly, how much a player will progress in the future. Jon Veen's name may be unknown to many Farves, but he's definitely a vital part of the team.

Nickname
La Vherderoja
The nickname is a reference to the colours of the kits, though the nickname itself is in Farf.

Style Modifier
+4
Much to Pekarik's frustration, Farf players play more offensively than they should. However, after a couple of years together, Pekarik and his players appear to have reached a middle ground. While this Farf squad is still very heavily focused on the attack, it is not as attacking as it used to be. At the same time, its defense has become better and better with time.

Goalkeepers

Name: Rôhj Tzâín Üjkân
Age: 27
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: With Lisdiren having retired, Tzâín has finally got the starting position in the national team. A Di Bradini Cup winner, he's, of course, a great goalkeeper. He's one of the players who gave Pekarik a few headaches, though, due to his unmatched laziness, now thankfully (mostly) a thing of the past. His biggest downfall is that he's not really tall (just slightly below-average height), but he makes up for it with astonishing, acrobatic saves. He's quick-tempered, but knows very well what he can and cannot do to avoid harming the team. His talent has been increasing at an accelerated rate.

Name: Sifé Rigutti Fazeré
Age: 31
Team: Image La Nueva Avenida Image
Description: Sifé Rigutti is a pretty good goalkeeper who has been unlucky enough to live in era in between Lisdiren's and Tzâín. He's very secure with the ball, and often denies the opponent any rebounds. He's a very good leader, and would no doubt do well if he were a starter. It's just that Lisdiren was better before retiring, and he gave Tzâín enough time to become better too. Still, Rigutti's a very safe choice for second goalkeeper. Recently moved to Farfadillis after realizing (kind of late) that Earent was disappearing from the international scene.

Name: Ascensión Espiritual Ekvinter González
Age: 26
Team: Image Avenida Victoria Image
Description: Ekvinter was a part of the Di Bradini Cup-winning squad that Risko Kâí captained to glory. He was a substitute to Rôhj Tzâín, sure, but nobody can deny he's got the talent going for him. This man may just be second choice to Rôhj Tzâín throughout his international career, but he's as safe as second choices come.

Defenders

Name: Cleto Mata Tarariras
Age: 29
Team: Image Gwinevra Barbarians Image
Description: Mata's been around since the U-15's, having been the star of the U-15 World Cup 1 Farf squad. He's a defender with astonishing dribbling and an eye for scoring goals when it comes to venturing into the opponent's box. He's good defensively, more than good in many areas, though from a Farf perspective. He excels, however, at how he can bring his team out of the box whenever they park the bus without intending to (which rarely happens when playing for Farfadillis, to be fair). He can start a counterattack in a matter of seconds, and will often take needless risks by dribbling an opponent inside the box. However, up to date, none of the teams he's defended has had to regret him doing this. Never has any other player played the very definition of Farf defender so well. Pekarik doesn't like his style, though. But his talent is undeniable, and Pekarik's no fool.

Name: Ivaktör Mâr Bârr Rîk-Ândré
Age: 27
Team: Image Northbrook Diamonds Image
Description: A product of Dí Maozöxê's youth academy, Bârr has gotten here thanks to a few good performances in the Di Bradini Cup Farfadillis won and, specifically, because he performed incredibly in that Di Bradini Cup's final. Naturally, after the final kickstarted his international career, he's done numerous things to keep his place, now finally getting to start for his nation. He's a quick-tempered defender, but a few years surrounded by Polarian influences have made him learn to channel it correctly and make it a virtue. He's tall, fast, and very strong, too. His technique is decent, but he's less skilled than most Farf defenders (and, by extension, most Farves). He's a titan in the air, however, and has got the ability to read the game really well when fully focused. Truly a player Niko Marek (his 'teacher' at Northbrook) and Steffan Pekarik can be proud of.

Name: Santos José Alaminos Soldado
Age: 31
Team: Image Colonial Sile Image
Description: Yes, Cleto Mata may be the best Farf-style defender out there, but nobody doubts that Santos Alaminos is who keeps the defense from collapsing. He's a wonderful player when it comes to defending (he can cover the holes Mata leaves), but he's just as good at helping the attack. He can and will dribble his way out of the box, instead of clearing the ball like most other defenders would. That is something he shares with Mata. He never, however, dribbles when it's not necessary. That is something he does not share with Mata. He's not tremendously fast, though he is fast. It's his incredible endurance that stands out, however. He can, somehow, survive his own continuous runs up and down the pitch. He always gives his all and a bit more, and that's probably what places him above so many other players who'd like to play in his place. Going back to his attacking, he might be that extra player that finally breaks the opposing defense, as when it comes to offense he's just another talented midfielder who can do as he wishes with the ball, but he's no Terán. He seemed to blossom in World Cup 67, being one of the best players of the squad, with his most remarkable performance being against Valanora. The AOCAF Cup after that proved no different, having been key for the Farf success in it. His most notable performance was in the semifinal against Vilita, in which he scored twice. Unlike Mata, Alaminos is one of Pekarik's favourites. He's now in his prime. Pekarik will want to make the most out of it.

Name: Salomón Cayfú Martínez
Age: 26
Team: Image La Nueva Avenida Image
Description: Cayfú is a defender with a talent for bombing forward. Like every Farf defender in existence. However, he has another talent that is extremely rare in Farf defenders: he does not do it indiscriminately. This alone was more than enough for Pekarik to take a liking to him. Salomón had already sparked Rossizzo's interest before, however, so Pekarik's not found a diamond in the rough. Originally from Libertarian Ferdullaele's pretty respectable youth system, La Nueva Avenida quickly signed him after he showed what he was capable of for a Di Bradini Cup-winning squad that will be remembered for many years to come. As a bonus for Pekarik, he does know how to defend properly.

Name: Thjorgias Archere Pickton Exhaurré
Age: 20
Team: Image La Nueva Avenida Image
Description: Thjorgias is the Farf son of Apoxian Grant Pickton, one of the most successful and influential players in the history of the FFL, and current assistant manager of La Nueva Avenida. As a result, he didn't have trouble getting the spotlight. Under the spotlight, however, he's shown that he's not just a name. He's got his father's versatility, as well as some of his dribbling and passing. However, he truly shines at tough tackles and intercepting passes. It's a mystery what Pekarik might make out of him, though.

Name: Drê Tâás Röènôùjýâ Ìrrýbâuzârâ
Age: 21
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Röènôùjýâ is one of the hottest Farf prospects of the moment. He broke into the Di Bradini Cup squad at age sixteen, but he was pretty unsuccessful in the three editions he played. Not in terms of performance, though. Otherwise, why would he be here? Drê's a very offensive-minded 'leftback' who oozes talent. He must be really good to have Pekarik call him up despite his decidedly average defensive attributes. Maybe Pekarik's sure he can make a defender out of this "defender".

Midfielders

Name: Yurpá Mêndêlöíndçêl Nüyntâk
Age: 33
Team: Image Dwile Warriors Image
Description: Say hello to the captain, and one of the best players of the team. If there's anyone who knows what playing for Farfadillis is, it's either Lisdiren or him, with both having played each and every game the national team has played. This will be the first time the Farf team does not field Lisdiren, but Yurpá's still going strong. Yurpá's the classic poor boy who grew up to become a footballer, who had to make a few tough calls along the way, mainly regarding family. Maybe that's what makes him such a good leader for the national team. When it comes to football, all decisions seem very easy to him. He can strip any player from the ball as soon as he/she/it is unfortunate enough to give this frenzied midfielder half a centimetre. His endurance is almost unmatched, and is without a shadow of a doubt his most defining attribute. He's always able to sprint once more. When he puts his eyes on the ball, it's all he cares about. This probably should be a flaw of his, but it's not. He will slide, jump, do just about anything to get the ball, but he never gets sent out. Indeed, he never commits unnecessary fouls. He's as clean a player as you may find, at least from the referee's perspective. He's not as good with the ball as some other players in the team, but he's by no means bad. He can provide teammates with assists and dribble his way into the box (which is admittedly rare). However, there's one thing at which he excels, which is an added bonus that makes him the incredibly threatening player he is: he's very good from long range. His shots are not necessarily precise, though they tend to be. It's their sheer speed that makes them impossible to stop for the goalkeeper. Now, obviously, he'll be missing some attempts, and it may be difficult for him to find the space to shoot, but if he gets, say, three long-range shots in one match, chances are the other team is in deep trouble. He just seems to wreak his anger when he lets those missiles off his right foot. He can shoot with his left foot, too, but he's not that good with it. Despite being the captain, he's a very silent player inside the pitch, and will probably be the last person to be sent out due to being disrespectful to the referee. He also has a thorough disregard for his own safety when there're big things on the line. He's also one of the most successful Farf players at club level, as well as the only to have won the Champions' Cup.

Name: Alex Terán Loya
Age: 30
Team: Image FC Endeavour Image
Description: Terán is an incredibly classy yet very passionate player. He sees football as just a game, though he does take it very seriously when truly needed. Always a cheerful, cheeky player, he can and will do anything to opposing defenders. He's spectacular when it comes to chipping the ball from outside the box. He's always aware of the opposing goalkeeper's position and, if the goalkeeper is a few steps from the goal, he'll just chip the ball. If he's not, he'll shoot powerfully to one of the posts. It's a pretty simple tactic, and it has gotten quite old, but he's just too adept at it for goalkeepers to be able to completely anticipate it. His endurance is stunning, his speed above-average, his dribbling very good and his playmaking eye-catching. He's one of Rossizzo's biggest successes, as nobody would've called him up when Rossizzo did. He ended up not only earning his starting position in the national team, but also being a vital part of the World Cup 66 squad that got to the round of sixteen, even scoring against the eventual champions, Eura. He's reasonably good defensively and a box-to-box player. He plays a slightly more attacking role than centre midfielder, but he still helps the defense considerably. However, Pekarik's always wanted him to defend even more. What he's come to find out, however, is that Terán is so absent-minded he won't even realize he's not following his instructions when inside the pitch. Terán has definitely been the most frustrating player Steffan has coached (or is at least top three), but he's got talent and nobody can deny it. He's in his prime, and is currently one of Endeavour's best players.

Name: Risko Kâí Tüzá
Age: 29
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: The captain and best product of Farfadillis' to-date only Di Bradini Cup-winning squad, Risko Kâí is an incredibly dangerous hybrid of a left midfielder and a left winger. If he gets the ball, he will probably go down the flank and create a dangerous opportunity. When dribbling, he's got each and every trick possible down his sleeve, and can pull off any of them at any given moment. Easily Farfadillis' most unpredictable player. He's a player who does not care about aggressiveness against him, and will tend to provoke the opponent if he sees he can get away with it, provoking can go range from trash-talking to nutmegs. He can cut in and shoot from afar, but he's not as good at it as he's going down the flank. He's pretty good at passing, too, but it's not his biggest asset. However, as heavily attacking-minded as he may sound, he's still good defensively. He gives his all for the team, and knows how to strip players from the ball, though he's definitely average at it. He may be very cheeky inside the pitch, but he's not the kind of player who gets a red card for idiotic reason, and he's not really that temperamental. He's not the kind of player who dives either; it has happened that when he gets fouled inside the box he continues with the ball attempting to score or assist a teammate, which backfires sometimes and secures the goals some others. Many argue he's becoming the best Farf player in football history. It's tough distinguishing between Dandalleion and him by now, and some would argue he's already got the
edge with the striker now aging. Risko's still got some more time to grow, but he's definitely at his peak now.

Name: Matías Delafuente Obrero
Age: 25
Team: Image Viztourzys Kolektyvinis Image
Description: A fantastic playmaker, and a player with an enormous present and future. He became the first Farf to win a UICA competition, though he was followed by everyone from Dor Frío a season later, as well as Mêndêlöíndçêl last season. Oh, and he scored in the Globe Cup final he won! He may not be the best dribbler, and his long-range shots may indeed not be that much of a hazard for the opposition, but this youngster can see any holes a defense leaves open. His passes are incisive and often wreak havoc, specially if he plays alongside players like Dandalleion, Kâí and Fuego. One of La Nueva Avenida's academy's greatest products. Too bad they let him leave so early. He made a name for himself back in the Di Bradini Cup Farves apparently just can't stop talking about. Now a starter, his workrate's been getting admirable, and his passes have only gotten scarier with time.

Name: Mâás Jân Fôx Düçélájé
Age: 27
Team: Image Directus Image
Description: Mâás Fôx is not great defensively, but he will cause a headache to most defenders. He's got an impressive long-range precision and an impressive playmaking ability. He can run down the flank if he wishes, but he prefers to cut in. Being ambidextrous lets him do whatever he wants, and makes him a lot more dangerous. Whenever he decides to cut in, defenders will have to guess whether he'll attempt a sniper assist to either Dandalleion, Roga, Terán or Tuzzio or just shoot from afar. He's wonderful with free kicks, too. Free kicks are the most common way he scores. He's also very fast, just as everyone in the team and is very precise when crossing. And he couldn't care less about pressure. He's not in a great physical state, however, and he probably won't be able to endure an entire match. He can be stripped from the ball by virtue of physical strength, but it's not recommended as he may play his way around it and provoke a foul. Fôx is nowadays absolutely key to the team. At the age of twenty-seven, many hope he has not yet reached his peak.

Name: Ruy Alexander Monrazón Dianaslocas
Age: 18
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: Avenida Leal's youth academy received heavy investments not very long ago, and they're starting to see the fruits of that. This is the best fruit. Ruy is quite short, but that does not stop him from being one of the best young Farf players right now. His sky-high workrate is reminiscent of Mêndêlóíndçêl's when he was his age back in World Cup 60, Farfadillis' debút in international football. His playmaking is tremendous, and his dribbling and long-range attempts are nothing to scoff at. When it comes to defending, it's not hard to see why Pekarik would call him up. Ruy has got a natural talent for tackling and intercepting, which Pekarik can only improve. If things turn out the way they should, Farfadillis has finally got itself a worthy replacement for Mêndêlöíndçêl. Arambilet's probably his biggest obstacle right now, but he's six years younger.

Name: Ostadar Arambilet Olitzar
Age: 26
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: Ostadar is Astograthian. He's played for Astograth. He was Astograth's next big thing. But the nation became authoritarian, and Ostadar did not like that. He also did not like how the national team disbanded. So, well, as luck would have it, he'd play for his new home, Farfadillis. Son of Gaur Arambilet, Ostadar takes after him in terms of being able to score many goals, but he isn't a striker, he's a midfielder. He plays in the centre and is adept at both attacking and defending, something specially relieving for Pekarik. He's got the talent to read the game, and the talent to create goals out of thin air, a must-have for a Farf midfielder. His long-range shots are scarily accurrate, and he's got the kind of vigour needed to enter the box looking for a striker's goal and actually getting one. He's likely to cause more than one headache to opposing defenders should he get the nod from the Polarian manager. He's very professional, so he's unlikely to play any worse than he played for Astograth. He looks like the most likely replacement for Mêndêlöíndçêl, but Monrazón's a new challenger he'll have to watch out for.

Name: Rübéãn Tôr Rämír
Age: 23
Team: Image FC Endeavour Image
Description: Tôr is one talented player. He's got the spirit of a typical Rulandese midfielder; unquenchable and irresponsibly (in terms of health) dedicated to the team. You'll see him running up and down the pitch all the time. He knows how to defend, but he's also a cheeky player. He will dribble and attempt passes others would not, and he will get many of them right (and some wrong, too, let's admit it). He's a bit reckless, however, though it does mean you won't see him diving. Though he's right-footed, he's certainly not bad at all with his left foot, often shooting from afar with it when playing on the right. He can play on both flanks, and cause headaches to anyone who has to take care of him. Dí Maozöxê certainly did not disappoint anyone after producing Mâás Fôx. Rübéãn Tôr is the new talented midfielder from Ruland, and he's already a big deal. Nineteen and in the national team? Check. Signed by an important international club? Check. Scarily talented? Check. He's been evolving into a very likely replacement for... uhmm... pretty much any offensive player in the team. He'll be getting as much playing time as Pekarik can afford, as it's evident Farfadillis' hopes lie in part on this guy's shoulders.

Name: Kühâx
Age: 29
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Another player getting to the squad thanks to some impressive performances in the Di Bradini Cup Farfadillis won. Unfortunately for Kühâx, though, he's got the toughest competition out of all the players from said squad. On one side, Risko Kâí, who captained him in the Di Bradini Cup he won. On the other, Mâás Fôx, who would've been preferred over him in the Di Bradini Cup had Rossizzo chosen to call up any capped players other than Risko. And to top it off, Rïbéãn Tôr is has already surpassed him as well. However, nobody can deny Kühâx is more than worthy of the spot in the bench. Playing for Mâ Âlâmëómë, he's impressed many. He's got a lot of talent running down the flank, and his crossing is exquisite. However, unlike most Farves, he's not that good cutting in and going for a long-range shot or a pass. He's pretty tall, and as a result can score headers to make up for it. As a bonus, he's better defending than Risko and Mâás, which Pekarik definitely appreciates. He's still likely to get considerable playing time, as Fôx's endurance is plain bad and Tôr is not as good as him defensively. Also, his name may have got you a bit confused. Thing is he was assigned the alias Kühâx when put on adoption, and once adopted his parents decided to leave him with just the alias and nothing else. At least he didn't have to live in Ruland...

Name: Ichi Marco Tuzzio Grecco
Age: 33
Team: Image Jungle Strike Image
Description: Originally from Dandillis, a Farf colony, Ichi Tuzzio might be a bit too old to start now, but he's still one of the best players in Farf history; nobody should underestimate him just because he's been declining in quality (and, mainly, physical aptitude). His incredibly convenient skill set for a centre attacking midfielder makes him a big threat. First of all, he's a very good playmaker, and has almost telepathic communication with Dandalleion, with them being very good friends off the pitch, too. However, his playmaking ability is kind of just a bonus, as what stands out is his incredible agility and reflexes when dribbling, coupled with his impressive technique. Therefore, he's a great dribbler, and can make his way into the box and score quite easily. It is not his dribbling, as good as it may be, that makes him stand above most others, though. It is his clinical shots that do. No matter where he is, he can get a shot on target if given half a centimetre. When inside the box and given space, the likelihood of him not scoring is pretty slim. He often aims for the lower corners, and almost gets it right a scary amount of the time. His long-range shots are very threatening, too Having to take care of Mêndêlöíndçêl's long-range efforts is not that difficult. Taking care of Alex Terán at the same time isn't that bad. Taking care of Dandalleion too makes it difficult. Adding Mâás Fôx into the mix makes it even more difficult. However, adding Tuzzio into the mix too makes every team facing Farfadillis have to defend heavily every single minute, lest they leave them enough space for a long-range attempt. Obviously, he won't get all long-range efforts right, but they all tend to be powerful and precise. Very, very precise. He's pretty fast, but there is two downsides to him, the two closely related. His endurance is below-average and, probably as a consequence, he does not help out defensively. Pekarik's been striving to change that to little success. Nonetheless, his raw talent more than makes up for it. He's been a ghost of his former self inside the pitch for some time now, but whenever his former self makes a return, Farfadillis plays one of its best matches. The spark's still there, but it shows up less and less often as time passes.

Name: Itxaso Zuazubiskar Lauvé
Age: 27
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: The last foreign midfielder. There's Ostadar, there's Ichi and this is the last guy. We swear. Zuazubiskar is mostly Astograthian and, though we all know how that went down, his reasons for playing for Farfadillis have, surprisingly, nothing to do with authoritarianism. Farfadillis was the only team that ever paid attention to him, so he just chose to play for his mother's country. Not very complicated. He has recently officially set foot on Farfadillis, too! He's now playing for Avenida Leal, a team that came in begging for his talent after the Astograthian league KABOOM'D. He's above-average in all offensive areas, but the only attribute of his that stands out is his long-range precision.

Name: José Torino Fuego Teixidó
Age: 25
Team: Image FC Axel Heiburg Image
Description: José Torino Fuego was a starter for the Di Bradini Cup-winning squad and was even the top goalscorer. He started playing at Flamagua and got them promoted to the FFL2. He even got them really far in the Series B Champions' Cup. Oh, and he got them promoted to the FFL after that. What followed that? He moved to Liria Prizren, where many held the belief he would excel in due time. Sadly, Mytannion turned into a failed state and he had to move to Polar Islandstates. He's without a doubt a complete striker, heralded as the next Dandalleion, and he's got just the right age for that. His brother, Lorenzo Fuego, was capped for Farfadillis, but Pekarik has decided he is no longer fit for the national team. Oh, his eldest brother is the captain of Tifón De La Costa, a club recently promoted to the FFL and promptly relegated from it, too. Inside the pitch, Fuego is notable for his unquenchable will, his dribbling, his ability to never let a hole in the opposing defense escape his attention, his exquisite passing to make use of the previous skill and, finally, his stunning precision with his feet and his head. Certainly one with an enormous future. He's just the right age, too. He's young and he's earned the starting position despite the competition for the two starting spots being very, very fierce. Dandalleion takes one spot automatically, and then countless Farf strikers try to get the remaining spot. It's a shame we won't enjoy him and Dandalleion playing together in their prime, though. He's expected to soon enough become a good enough player to be key to Axel Heiburg.

Name: Friekder Dandalleion Ígneo
Age: 34
Team: Image Jungle Strike Image
Description: Friekder Dandalleion is easily the most famous Farf player around. He started his career playing for the swamp football national team. Ferdullaele gave him a chance for a trial as a result of his great performances in said national team. He was great. He eventually started playing for Ferdullaele, and then the national team, with a move to Turori following. The rest, as they say, is history. Dandalleion is the very definition of a versatile player, being able to play as either a right midfielder, a left midfielder, a centre attacking midfielder or any position up front. He can also play as a wingback if really, really needed. Being so versatile not only gives him more chances of starting for his team (though he does not need those extra chances), but it also gives him an ample skillset to pull off just about anything regardless of position. He knows each and every position down to the most minute detail, and knows how to mix them, yielding a lethal result. Rossizzo seemed to have found the perfect combination for this, making him play as a striker on the left. Pekarik will do the same. This allows him to cut in and shoot to the lower corners, something he does well thanks to playing as a centre attacking midfielder for Jungle Strike (not the part of cutting in, obviously). This also allows him to venture down the flank thanks to his times as a left midfielder, and it also allows him to act as any other striker thanks to his times as a striker. However, there's one thing that makes Dandalleion outstanding. When you mix his hybrid position with astonishing speed (he even got two gold medals last summer Olympics, and qualified to the two hundred metres final, though his inclusion in the Farf delegation was a bureaucratic mistake) and an exquisite control of the sphere, you get a striker that's very easy to assist. Sure, he can create chances for himself, but having Delafuente and Terán assisting you makes everything a lot easier. Dandalleion also makes things easier for them. His dribbling and his finishing, which are unmatched when it comes to Farves, let him finish everything he starts. He's as complete as forwards come. The trick he likes to pull off the most is, as said, to cut in and shoot to the lower corners. The shots tend to be very fast and precise, which makes it all that harder for the goalkeeper. He's a very acrobatic player too, and he's not bad when heading, though he's the one who takes the corners most of the time, once scoring directly from one against Northern Sunrise Islands. His crossing is very good, but he does not tend to cross (except from corners, as mentioned) anyway. If he goes down the flank, he's very likely to attempt to enter the box and create a much more dangerous chance than just crossing the ball. He's known for appearing when most needed. He's one of Jungle Strike's most valuable players. Renowned as the best Farf player along with Mêndêlöíndçêl (and nowadays, Kâí), but he's the one who gets the spotlight. Let's just quote "SPORT NOVARI Fans' Guide to the World Cup 67" to finish his description: "He'll terrorise any team he's playing against." He's considerably old now, but he's still as fast, only his endurance has taken a hit. It will be a sad day for Farf football when Dandalleion has to retire, and not many want to think what would be of the national team without him. Pekarik's out of luck, it seems: he'll probably be the one who'll have to take the decision to exclude him from the roster when push comes to shove.

Name: Çis Dragãozý Törètá
Age: 30
Team: Image Âlâmëómë Image
Description: Dragãozý is a very complete striker. He's shorter than the others, but he can score headers if given the chance to. He single-handedly saved Sent 01 from relegation not very long ago, and is certainly an important part of Mâ Âlâmëómë's squad. Çis is known for spreading inspiration to the entire team. At the age of thirty, he's a great leader despite not getting that many minutes of playing time. He's also very fast and completely tireless. He can dribble really well, too. He has shown time and time again that he can score goals single-handedly, an ability that certainly hasn't escaped Pekarik's eye. He is likely to get a good amount of playing time, even if it means using a third striker.

Name: Nazeau Roga Quimartan
Age: 32
Team: Image Izotz Zubia Image
Description: Roga is a mystery. He does not excel at anything, but he's above-average in everything a striker needs. He's also an avid writer with a few books under his belt, one of which is a best-seller in Farfadillis. All of them were pretty grotesque in terms of plot, mind. He was the starter for a good amount of time, but Fuego's gotten considerably better, and Roga's getting old. Now, the competition for being Dandalleion's partner may be very tough, but Roga has coninuously convinced, and Pekarik knows full well he's currently a very good option. He's definitely Farfadillis' best poacher, probably in history, with only Tenian as competition.

Name: Horacio Cornelio Ramos
Age: 30
Team: Image Avenida Leal Image
Description: The reason why Cornelio has been called up is mainly that he's been consistently impressive playing for Avenida Leal for some time now. He's a striker with stunning speed and good finishing, but his dribbling is not very good. In all honesty, he shouldn't be getting much - if any - playing time, but who knows what goes through Pekarik's mind? He's had his minutes already, and he actually went to the last World Cup Farfadillis qualified to. He's never let anyone down so far, so he's got that going for him.

Kits

Tactics

Farfadillis will play its usual kamikaze football, but now more conservatively due to having been influenced by a Polarian manager for a couple of years already. You can still expect the defenders to try to attack often and the team to try to swarm the opposing box, just not as often as in the past.

Starting XI
(Will vary. However, when it does, it will be RP'd)

Stadium

La Fantás (100,000 seats)

Say hello to Farfadillis' still-kind-of-somewhat-remotely-new stadium! Having somewhat relatively recently hosted the Champions' Cup's 50th final and the Baptism of Fire's 54th final, it's a great stadium. It's got many, many, many seats, and it's filled with violent Farves, fanatics without any limits willing to shoot each and every one of your nation's fans! Not really, those are just a minority, albeit an incredibly loud one. No, seriously, watch out.

The Mendoyan Football Federation Prsents...

The Mendoyan National Football Team

Introduction-

After the Felixian invasion, Mendoya switched control from the Nationalist sympathizing government to a new one that was loyal to democratic Felix. Many Mendoyans, sill brainwashed by old Nationalist propaganda, were outraged by the change of government. So Mendoyans began to actively resist Felixian rule. Some joined the local militias to undermine the new colonial government and other decided to do that by playing football for the national team. These players come from all walks of life from Mendoyan sailors in the Felixian Navy to a simple carpenters or chefs. The Mendoyan national team is a great example of a people's team devoid of professionalism. The team is coached by former Unión Española assistant manager, Mario Gomez. He has experience coaching in the youth academy of Dusseldorf F.C and of course, being assistant manager at Unión Española. He has no relation to Mendoya other than the fact he was offered a chance to coach there. With that over and done with, here is the official roster of the Mendoyan National Football Team.

And lo, with great notions of a new league and a new era for the national team Queer Poco el Mono Ara entered consecutive world cup qualifying campaigns.. and, as it had been in previous years a lack of organization and, even worse still, a lack of inspiration had seen them fail to make any semblance of a squad...

With the new Una Serie written off as a bad job before it'd even started and the national team going through several revivifications in the last few years it's probably best to bring an end to this whole sorry saga and present to you, the last (although probably won't be) ever QPeMA team.

Preamble

The ancient religion of Queer Poco el Mono Ara has come back in to prominence over recent years and the populace has seen a rise in mysticism and spiritualism, without a team to fully represent us, a group of practicing priests has brought back from the other-side the spirits of some of the "greatest players to have ever graced a football pitch while wearing a Queer Poco el Mono Ara shirt". And Tim... Tim is here by accident, but it felt a little mean to exclude him.

Head Priest: Abdul-Fazl Degermenci. Abdul will be taking the lead as head coach of the Pocoan side as he was responsible for bringing together the conclave of priests and having the bright idea to reanimate the players...

Goalkeeper: #1 Aruna Traore. Aruna was the number one keeper for QPeMA during the halcyon days when we were actually considered among the top teams, playing in three campaigns and only losing his place in the first eleven when he broke his collar bone in a motorcycle accident. The problem is, will being a spectre mean the ball goes right through him?

Right Back. #2 Clancy Gibson. Overlooked as perhaps one of the most consistent players in Pocoan history, Gibson was in the squad from World Cup 54 to World Cup 57, getting his first start at only 21.

Left Back. #3 Rigobert Webo. Often cited as the lesser of the the two Webo brothers, the left back was strong, quick and an excellent passer.. but not as good as George, but then again, George didn't play at left back.

Central Midfield. #4 Graham Potter. The midfielder was routinely referred to as "a hard-hitter" or a "tough tackler". Whether his spirit form could still be considered hard or tough is yet to be seen.

Central Defence. #5 Rudolpho. One of the first names down on any team sheet and a real legend of Pocoan football. He probably just wants to rest in peace now, but won't get the chance just yet, especially given that he's wearing the captain's arm band.

Central Defence. #6 Jeffrey Onyewu. Another stalwart and a Royal Khaldoon hero, winning numerous titles with the league's most decorated club. Played on for his country until he was 37.

Right Wing. #7. Aaron Wilkshire. The right winger may not be a household name, but he did win foreigner of the year while playing in Tyrrin, which earned him a call up.

Central Midfield. #8. Jessie Jay. Jessie came at just the wrong time, with the mercurial talent of Lionel Johnson being discovered living in the wilderness the classy midfielder who played just behind the strikers ended up playing second fiddle.

Striker. #9. Danny Cavanaugh. Danny was quick, agile and had an eye for goal but he couldn't head the ball for toffee, which may or may not matter if the ball is just going to pass through his ectoplasmic form.

Striker. #10. Alberto Xisco. You may or may not remember the name of the Skyte centre forward who first partnered legendary striker Ishmael Van Dyke for QPeMA, chances are you most probably don't. Regardless, he was the second highest scoring player in the Una Serie in the inaugural season and has been dead for much longer than a lot of these other players.

Left Wing. #11. Gary Dicker. Gary made the squad for World Cup 56 and was described as "the only natural left footer" in the bunch. The Almondvale winger didn't get much (or any) game time but was more than happy to be brought back from the spirit World for another crack at the team.

Subs... whether or not paranormal entities require being substituted due to fatigue or injury is one thing, but having the option there is better than being caught out.

Wingback. #12. Fabricio Ramos. Was on the subs bench for World Cup 47.. also in the squad for world cup 48, played for Ridgemont Town when they weren't absolutely atrocious.

Goalkeeper. #13. Brad Johnson. Brad got a bit of a short shrift when it came to the national team. He was a good keeper, playing for a poor Athletic Khaldoon side and deserved better, but unfortunately for him he was up against Petr Ollic.

Central Midfield. #14. Wilfried Schroeter. Wilf was apparently a neo-Nazi but for some reason that was overlooked by interim national team coach Dean Bowyer who thought he was actually pretty good. He wasn't bad, but his personal life made liking him difficult.

Central Defender. #15. Tim. Tim accidentally came through with the other spirits. He's ginger, but balding, has a bit of a gut and potentially a touch of ghostly arthritis in his wrist from doing a lot of you know what *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*... Not that, he's a PC gamer. Pervert.

Winger. #16. Rowan Askwith. Despite his surname clearly being a misspelling of Asquith, Rowan was part of the White's squad for several years (during the time we struggled for wingers).

Striker. #17. Vinny Landolfi. Perhaps the tallest striker to ever play for Queer Poco el Mono Ara, the 6ft7ins striker looked clumsy, but on closer inspection he had sublime ball control, despite the distance between his feet and brain.

Home Stadium: The Old Pocoan Temple on Neptuna. Yeah, there's a playing field round the back of the temple, facilities are a little rudimentary and there aren't any seats or stands for away fans, so, you know, don't bother bringing any.

RP Permissions: Do anything you so wish if you RP first.

Style Modifier: Is this still relevant? If so, I'll have a nice -2.

Gylian national football team

National information: Available on iiwiki.

Background

The national football team of the Republic of Gylias has historically had a rather limited international sports presence due to its gender-neutral roster, as the team absolutely insists that it will either be allowed to play as is or it will not participate in an event at all, which has led to it boycotting several international tournaments. Its experience consists mainly of frequently scoreless friendly matches, though it has participated in the Cornellian Cup since independence, winning in 2000 and coming second in 2014. It also participated in this year's Baptism of Fire 57, coming in last in its group, and in the 70th World Cup, coming fifth in its group.

Gylians are known for culturally regarding sport as an opportunity for enjoyment above all else, and refusing to acknowledge the competitive aspects. The national football team is no different, as its players are drawn from local football teams which never play in tournaments, but instead only play friendly matches, completely ignoring winning, losing and even scores in order to focus on having fun. Gylian players are known for a near-perfect record of good sportsmanship, having only very rarely received yellow cards due to accidents, and for frequently interacting and engaging in friendly conversation with their teammates and the other team's players on the pitch while playing.

The standard Gylian playing style is mainly inspired by the total football practiced by the Dutch national team in the 1970s and the tactical innovations of the Hungarian national football team in the 1950s. As such, the Gylian national football team has no fixed formation, and instead uses a fluid lineup whereby every player on the field except for the goalkeeper freely switches between multiple roles and positions, emphasising flexibility and cooperation over specialisation.

The team's shirts are white with a golden line running through the middle, regardless of whether they are the home or away team. If it would be necessary, they request that the Gylian national anthem not be played before a match in order to avoid depressing the audience.

Kits: White T-shirts with a golden line running through the middle, whenever they feel like wearing them
