RP Description:
Once, man looked to the skies with wonder. Then, the flames of our civilizations blotted out the night sky, vivid neon and bright cities covering the globe in a perpetual day.

Man made much progress, however, it was not to last. Our confidence in our technology and our supposed supremacy over the natural world was our downfall. For all of our science and scanning of the skies and mathmatical calculations of trajectory, we still could not see the threat that loomed above us.

The fall came quickly. Stars plummeted to the earth past the speed of sound, obliterating anything in their path. In a day and a night, millenia of progress was lost. Cities simply ceased their existance, nations collapsed, and the hungry seas swallowed the old coasts.

Our world is quieter now, yet, the embers of ancient nations still glow, ready to rekindle the glory of the old world. Will you build great monuments and structures as beacons to future generations? Or will you conquer all under the sun and sky to satiate a lust for conquest? Great leader, the rise or fall of an empire, is in your hands...

Rules and Regulations:
There are a fair few rules and guidelines for the RP, listed here. These following six are basic and should be easily understood and followed, and after that will follow more specific info that is more liable to change.
1. Obey NationStates forum rules
2. Obey the OP and those appointed as per their role
3. Make sure you are not metagaming, godmodding, numberspamming, or generally RPing in bad form

Beyond the basic rules, there are a few regulations, which is basically a special way of saying special rules for regulating the RP. So rules+1. Each regulation is R.X.~~~ where X is the regulation number and the squiggles are the subject matter.

Armenia is ruled by a monarch that exercises considerable, though not absolute, power over the country. His power is limited by the Zhoghov, or Assembly, a council of advisers attached to the monarch's court. While it's primary purpose is to advise the monarch, a super-majority (10 out of the 15) may overrule any decision a monarch makes. In addition, the monarch may only appoint the head of the Army, Navy, and Intelligence while the other 12 positions are democrat. Councilors serve 5 year terms and may be reelected hypothetically infinitely, while the previously mentioned military heads may be removed by the monarch at any time. Provinces are governed by Assembly-approved governors who serve for terms of 7 years. These governors may serve a maximum of three terms, or 21 years. The power of the Armenian Apostolic Church has been considerably reduced by the Saroyan Dynasty over the past half-century, and while no longer a political force that was once second only to the monarchy it does still wield some political clout, mostly manifested in the opposition LCP Party. (Lord's Christian Party).

Brief Description of your people:

The majority of the population has been mixed into a sort of Transcaucasian ethnic group made up of Georgian, Azeri and Armenian blood, but with firmly Armenian customs due to the conquests of the Saroyan dynasty. Russians remain a distinct people but are not considered far removed from the Armenians. The Persians remain entirely seperate, and are often treated as second-class citizens.

25,000 sailors, 3,000 marines. The Armenian Navy is primarily built for coastal defense and action in the Mediterranean, not in the open sea. As a result, the Navy primarily consists of frigates and swift sloops.

Description of Tech Level:(Will be elaborated on further ) We haven't really worked on acceptable technology as much as I would like, so I can't really say for sure. Primitive steam technology? Rifled barrels? Technology isn't clear to me right now.
Brief Description of your Economy:

The Armenian economy largely leans on the mining of gold, silver, and iron in the Caucasus Mountains. Subsistence agriculture dominates Armenia's territories in former Russia while Fishing is a big industry off the Crimea and in the Caspian Sea. Armenian merchants hope to gain consistent entry through the Bosporus so as to expose their goods to untapped Mediterranean markets.

History:

Armenia fell into a brief period of anarchy following Yerevan's baptism by nuclear fire. The government had been largely annihilated with Yerevan's destruction, and a military junta seized tenuous control of the country following a year of lawlessness. The junta reclaimed the wayward region of Nagorno-Karabakh while Azerbaijan still reeled from the bombs. A semblance of order was reestablished, and for a time it seemed as if things might return to normal a few decades down the line.

But it was not to be so. The Crimson Flu swept through the country, killing 300,000 and overthrowing the already unpopular junta. Armenia descended into darkness as civilization died with a final whimper. Only silence reigned over the Ararat Plain. Savage tribes hunted and scavenged across the country, eking out an existence in filth and squalor. Isolated groups of survivors would do their best to live in vestiges of the old world, but the old world had died and with it had gone the sense of advancement and achievement. Now there was only chaos and a seemingly unending feeling of defeat.

Over the next century however, something approaching order was restored to the country as these groups of survivors grew and made new, permanent homes atop the ruins of the old. These independent communities established ties with one another through the League of Vanadzor, which by 150 encompassed the whole of the country and spread to several Georgian communities as well.

It was to this landscape that the mysterious Astadoor arrived from the wild wastes of Persia in 175 AF. He did not bear the title 'Prophet,' though this was bestowed upon him some years after his death. Astadoor, who's ethnic origin remains uncertain, brought with him only a Bible and a history textbook of the old world. He began preaching throughout the League the need for a resurrection, one that would restore to the region old world values and old world peace. He was dismissed as a creep and a madman for much of his life but gained an excellent reputation as a healer and philosopher. He gained numerous followers in the last few years of his life but died in 217, leaving his Christian Resurrectionist movement leaderless.

While continually dismissed by the leading Councilmen of the League, there was one among them that listened with fascination as he began to plot. Gavril Saroyan, representing the town of Vardenis, began to militarize his city-state, using tactics derived from Astadoor's textbook. Vardenis advanced very quickly into 15th century technology while the rest of the League's cities stagnated in 13th century technology.

Vardenis's waxing power spurred the states of Artashat, Megri, and Yegnag'zor into an alliance against Vardenis. This tension culminated in the War of 231 in which the triple alliance was crushed by Vardenisite forces at the battles of Sisian and Yeraskh, mostly thanks to Vardenis' crude artillery and pike regiments. All three states opposed to Vardenis lost over half their territory and had to make numerous economic concessions to Vardenis. Yegnag'zor was completely annexed.

The League fractured following the war as Vardenis next conquered Hrazdan, Nakchi and Alaverdi, by 240, bringing the whole of Armenia under Vardenis and effectively destroying the last vestiges of the League of Vanadzor. Gavril Saroyan renamed himself Tigranes in honor of the ancient Armenian king. His last name Saroyan became the name of the royal dynasty as Tigranes Saroyan became the King of Armenia. Tigranes continued his conquests into the 250's, bringing the whole of Azerbaijan along with several Georgian provinces under Armenia's dominion before his death in 257.

The next several kings focused more on domestic affairs, crafting a strong and stable state. Artaxias continued the conquests of Tigranes; by 330, the rest of Georgia and numerous Russian provinces had been added to Armenia. Orontes II established a colony in the Crimea and conquered several provinces in northwest Persia. Christian conversion programs were put into place; these led to numerous Muslim revolts and a civil war in 581, but ultimately Armenia remained intact with these conquered territories firmly under its control by 600. The nation was democratized somewhat under Tiridates III and the National Council was reformed.

Brief Description of your Economy: Known as a Reatrist Economy, it is incredibly socialist, and while currency and trade happens, most needs are tended to by the government.
Goals: Colonize, settle, navy-fy
History: Based around the former capital of the legendary “Riley Empire” that took the place of the evil Merddic Dynasty, and with the Impirren living in his palace on the Rynatoo Archipelago at the mouth of the Sea of Khali, the Rylonian Empire began as a city-state on the tip of the Retnau Peninsula. Through several decades of conquest and centuries of trade and commercial penetration, the entire coastline of the Khali was eventually annexed. The little foreign trade that was left afterwards was slowly stopped as Rylonia became self-sufficient in its production. The terracing of the thousands of miles of hillsides allowed for immense population growth, this new pressure on the land gave the incentive to begin to colonize the desert and forest wastes surrounding the nation. This national tradition has slowly moved Rylonia out of its isolation, and now the Impirren looks to reestablish the naval dominance and trade hegemony of Rylonia.

Brief Description of your people:Hardy and strong people of the North who endure cold winters and shorter summers, growing up in the Northern Part of Eurasia has not been easy on the people but they have grown used to it now with the dawn of colonialism and Imperialism the nation has grown considerably in size and with fear many of the citizens have banded together in a nationalistic pride for their nation they once more ready themselves for a storm of foreigners.
Religion:Primarily of Orthodox Christianity which has now been affected by Chinese and Asian worship of their Ancestors drastically modifying the religion to become Eastern then the actual old Church far west in what are believed to be Barren lands where god himself has wiped out all man. Contact with other beings east further prove to their fear that the West has been wiped out and that the East is the only thing that remains to be fought over.
Ethnicity:A very diverse form of Slavs have developed again with their religion they have been modified and changed to fit their cultural standpoint where both Chinese and Russian mix forming cross breeds of the two and have soon outnumbered the "Pure blood" Russians but with an Chinese man in office as well as a Russian things our soon to be looking up to.

[b]Brief Description of your Economy:At it's height with it nearing peak as trade goes far and wide across the republic and the resources of the mainland are used uncontrablly with a peak nearing many fear little but then again how can something good last for so long?
Goals: To further Colonize the Japanese Isles, Colonize Eastern Siberia, and continually prove to be a military power
History:Founded some 400 years ago the Republic was originally ruled under a King as they set about conquering the Island of Vladivostok, as nobles got greedy and wanted more they rebelled against the King and forced the Peasants to arms against both as the Country was torn apart and eventually the Peasants won the war and founded a republic and shortly after ordered ships to sail to find nearby islands for them to use, this quickly began the wave of Colonialism as they expanded to nearby Islands establishing themselves dominant in the Northern Sea of Japan and would eventually hit mainland, that was 120 years ago before they finally set sail for the Kamtchamian Isles, which would later become part of the Empire same with the Northern Isle of Japan. They settled down once again for nearly 100 years but once agin the people yearn for conquest and are ready to do anything to achieve it.
