As proposed here, the old World Bowl Discussion Thread has been locked so that discussion may continue here with the World Bowl Assembly President's account as the thread's OP.

World Bowl Assembly Constitution wrote:World Bowl Constitution
Adopted August 14, 2009, Last Revised June 21, 2020

a) All nations that participated in World Bowl 6 OR 7 by posting a roster will be automatically admitted into the initial World Bowl Assembly. Afterwards, a nation will had to have participated in the previous two World Bowls.
b) Nations, excluding prior hosts, will be removed from the World Bowl Assembly after failure to participate (posting a roster at minimum) in two consecutive World Bowls.
c) Prior hosts of a World Bowl will be removed from the World Bowl Assembly after failure to participate (posting a roster at minimum) in three consecutive World Bowls.
d) Voting for a World Bowl host shall be restricted to be members of the WBA.
e) The World Bowl Assembly will have a President that will be the spokesperson for the competition during their tenure, which will last three World Bowl Cycles. Once the World Bowl Assembly is officially formed, nominations for the President can be made on this thread by WBA members. Any person receiving two nominations will be put in a vote. The winner of the vote is elected President, and the second place finisher shall serve as the vice-president. Only WBA members may vote.
f) Amendments to this document need to be requested by three WBA members within a span of two weeks. If so, it will go to a vote and must be passed by a 2/3rds majority.

Duties of the World Bowl Assembly President shall be:
-- Creation of World Bowl sign-up thread after a discussion with assembly members when the best timing for the next World Bowl should be.
-- Organizing votes for the World Bowl hosting, and then tabulating those votes.
-- In the event of tie in said vote, they will cast the tiebreaker vote if they had not previously voted, or remove their vote if they were one of the ones who did.
-- Organizing votes for rule changes or changes to this World Bowl Assembly document. Any desired change will need to be requested by three WBA members within a span of two weeks, if so, it will go to a vote. For it to become a change, it must pass via a 2/3rds majority.
-- Make efforts to uphold the integrity of the World Bowl if at any time it seen as though a participant is acting dishonorably.
-- Mediate any arguments or conflicts between participants during a World Bowl with the understanding that the host has final discretion over the running of it. However, if the problem is with the host then the President may step in for a resolution.
-- In the event that an elected World Bowl host is unable to complete the tournament, the President may, at their discretion, choose a replacement host or hold a vote to choose a replacement host.
-- In the event that the World Bowl Assembly Vice Presidency is vacant, the President may appoint a Vice President to serve the remainder of the term

Duties of the Vice-President:
-- The Vice-President shall be the person who finished second in the WBA presidential voting or the person appointed by the President in accordance with this document.
-- They will assume the role of President in the following situations:
a) The President has ceased-to-exist
b) The President has failed to respond to an issue raised over a span of two weeks (in regards to the issue raised).
c) At request of the President.

Would someone be able to archive the World Bowl pages from WikiStates? The dearly-CTE'd Qazox put a lot of time and effort into building a pretty comprehensive World Bowl section (although it became less-complete after a certain point), and WikiStates will be shutting down at the end of this year.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem to just straight up copy the contents over to the new NSwiki, I imagine. Same software as far as I can tell, no difference in markup etc etc.

So it's just a matter of making time to do it, really. And between the bunch of us World Bowl regulars, I can't see that being an issue either. I'm gonna test my theory in a bit and copy over a few pages. Should probably only take about 10 minutes really, assuming I won't need to make any syntax edits. If so, I'll start the transition when I get home from work later. Can't let the boss catch me dicking around too often

And once we've got them relocated/archived, I can see about updating some of the information, at least for World Bowl stalwarts.

Update on this. I used MediaWiki's export function to get the info on all the pages I could see linked to the World Bowl on Wikistates and the xml file is here.

It should be possible to get this imported into NSwiki if we can get hold of one of the administrators. Failing that, it might still be possible to extract the relevant data from the XML and update manually... at least this way we don't need to rush to get it done in the next couple of weeks.

Another update, the pages should be there now. Some bits aren't yet (templates, images) but the main pages (World Bowls, BoIs, records, rankings) should all have been transferred now, thanks to Todd McCloud.

I just noticed that the page for the first BoI was missed in the transfer between WikiStates and NSWiki. The articles for World Bowls 8 and 9 are also missing from NSWiki.

Greater Weselton has been DEAT'ed. As the group draw has already been held, it is too late to remove them from the tournament, but they will not be allowed to advance to the next round. Should they finish in the top two in their group, their spot in the Round of 16 will be taken by a "lucky loser", the best third-place team determined by the following tiebreakers:

1. Overall record
2. Overall points differential
3. Overall points for
4. Random draw between any teams still tied

Obviously head-to-head tiebreakers are omitted since the teams won't have played each other. I also omitted the later tiebreakers of record against specific teams within the group since we won't be comparing records against the same team. Ties for third place within a group will be broken before ties among third-place teams.

Should Greater Weselton win Group A, the second-place team will take spot A1 in the bracket (facing the second-place team from Group B) and the lucky loser will take spot A2 (facing the first place team from Group B.) Should Greater Weselton finish second in Group A, the lucky loser will take spot A2.

The same procedure will apply if any other nation gets DEATed or otherwise CTE's during the group stage but advances anyway. In the event it is necessary to select more than one lucky loser, they will be assigned to spots in an effort to keep teams from the same group from playing each other for as long as possible, but keeping with the procedure used above to determine where they can be assigned. Specific details on the method used will be made available should this become necessary.

This probably isn't an issue for another couple matches but ES you might want to watch the overall table and how xkorinate (or whatever your using to generate it) is sorting the tiebreakers.

The ones I noticed:

based on these from the bid: Points (Win-Loss Record), H2H Points, H2H "Goal" Difference, Overall "Goal" Difference, and a Cointoss

I don't think any of them have played each other...but I didn't go through each match day to double check sorry. Ultimately it comes down to just one stat since the noted teams are tied on points and that's GD for the above teams and according to my bad math each should be flipped with the team ahead of them.

Again, not that it needs corrected in the previously posted table just know that the table generator tends to mix things up every now and then.

It appears that the xkoranate winning percentage bug has struck again. The fix for the bug is to use wins instead of winning percentage (since there are no draws).
