If you were to organize in an effort to raise awareness of the slaughter of cattle throughout the world and some people attacked you, would you argue that you were in the wrong and ought to be prohibited from raising awareness about something you believe in? If you are going to apply the same standard you are applying to them to yourself, then you must see the situations as the same. The peaceful protestors aren't the problem; the violent rioters are.

I would not hold that protest in front of cattle farmers in the USA, or the cow eaters of Britain .It would be a killing
I'm yet to see a vegetarian attacked by an angry mob. I wasn't called a monster when I ordered veggie burgers yesterday.

That being said since when did rioters started getting punished such things don't happen
What are you talking about? Rioters get punished all the time. If you're assaulting people and destroying property, you're generally going to get punished for it.

Of course they do, courts can issue arrest warrants and prosecutors can prosecute the offenders regardless of government's ornamentation.

riots should be avoided at all costs, even if compromises are made, you don't know what it is like to see one of them

At all costs? Ok. 100 years dungeon for every Indian citizen. That'll prevent any riots for sure.

Where will I get. My lamb vindaloo from? You monster. :p

Indeed, they should be avoided. All that takes in this situation is for conservative Indians such as yourself to behave themselves. And yes, I have seen riots.

What happened to those those who caused Godhra ?

I am not conservative just don't like ruckuss on the roads

I'm assuming Mothra took care of them?

Right, your views on women in the work place and rampant racism are sure indicators that you're a left leaning progressive.....pull the other one, it's got bells on it.

Welcome to the civilised world, my friend.

It is in India as well. That isn't a western thing; that's just a policy basically every world government has accepted they need to implement.

And in India you get lynched/vigilante justice'd for kissing someone.

See the similarities? Oh yeah. There are none.

That's like saying "Oh, but Kentucky Fried Chicken, they serve an entirely vegan menu, right?" when asking if you can go to Subway and get a salad.
