British 2015 general election poll

Postby Dejanic » Thu Oct 23, 2014 6:59 am

With it being under 7 months now until the British general election, I thought it only fair to find out NSG's current thoughts on all the political parties for the 2015 general election.

The economy is on the mend, but that hasn't stopped the Tory party being gutted support wise, with Labour generally a few points above, and the ever growing Ukip eating away at the Conservative support base. Likewise, whilst not growing as fast as the controversial Ukip; the Green party has also grown, largely taking the small crumbs of Lib Dem support that still remain.

Personally I'll probably support Labour, but I hope that the Greens get a few more seats and finish off the pathetic Liberals. Though if the Labour manifesto is absolutely dreadful, I'll vote Greens. In terms of how the election is going to go down, it's really tough to say, but I think if Miliband keeps his mouth shut then it's basically impossible for the Tories to gain a majority, though if Ukip somehow gain lots and lots of seats a Ukip/Tory coalition is possible. I think the most likely scenario however is a Labour majority, or perhaps a Labour coalition with the SNP/Greens. As for the Lib Dems? I literally think they will almost cease to exist after this election, and in all likeliness they will be the 5th largest party, with the Greens overtaking them.

Labour's right where I like it, but then again, I have moved to the right since I moved to America.

Labour will probably flood our country with immigrants, the Tories will probably sell it off to the highest bidder, and the Lib Dems have Clegg, who is a traitor. I'd vote UKIP for their anti-EU stance, but some of the more colourful figures that Farage has behind him make me uneasy about doing so.

So it isn't too difficult to imagine myself voting Green in the next election. Hell, they might not even win that many seats, but I can't see them doing worse than the Lib Dems...

Well, I find Ed Miliband to be pretty shitty and populistic. He will likely do little to reverse the policies of Thatcher, Major, Blair, Brown, and Cameron if elected, and much of what he says is just rhetoric. Nonetheless, I give him the benefit of the doubt when he talks about the welfare state and NHS.

The LibDems have a good platform, but they're incredibly spineless, and Clegg has failed to compromise and negotiate well in the Tory coalition. If Clegg wasn't leader, they'd have my support.

The Tories, UKIP, BNP, and Respect are four parties I'd never vote for. The Tories are crappy, while the UKIP and most British minor parties are just abborrent.

Then, you have the Greens. I agree with them on some social issues and I like their support of centre left economic policies, but disagree with them on their stances on nuclear power, gmos, and homeopathy. They're a relatively anti science "new agey" party. So, I wouldn't vote for them.

Ultimately, if I was British, I'd reluctantly vote for Miliband.

I didn't think about that. It might be wise to put them in the poll instead of throwing in minor, silly parties like Respect.

Aye I did just like the last poll did. http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic ... 0&t=279864

If I added those two parties, I'd have to add lots of other NI parties. I'm not going to add any NI parties and I'm also not going to have a long debate on this issue.

If I added those two pantric bias on your part and. The sensible route would be to cl rties, I'd have to add lots of other NI parties. I'm not going to add any NI parties and I'm also not going to have a long debate on this issue.

You haven't included every English, Scottish or Welsh party despite this very significant concern of yours. Its clear mainland centric bias and the only sensible way to solve it is to include UK parties by MP number. Otherwise change the title to make it clear this is a GB thread.

If you're trying to accuse me of being a British nationalist or something, then that's pretty funny since I am 0 percent patriotic and I support a United Ireland, whilst you have a British flag in your avatar.

As I said, I'm not going to get drawn into this, my argument is the same as the one the OP of the previous thread made, so this is the last I'm going to speak of this. Good day.

No I'm accusing you of not considering the poll whatsoever and therefore only including those parties of the mainland because its easier despite being a quite clearly nonsensical selection. I really don't give a shit about your unconsidered views on a United Ireland.

Just because the last poll was ridiculous doesn't mean this one should be too.

You should check out these dudes, apart from their moderate military views, I think they're the closest to the US GOP.

UKIP are against foreign military intervention and foreign military aid, so that would probably put you off them I think.
