Chapter One: A way out

The world has fallen, and the living have become prey for the dead. All across America, we have seen the disintegration and downfall of human dominance and society: social order crumbling, infrastructure failing, and the human psyche reverting to its natural state of survival. But is all hope lost? Some say that safety lies in Nebraska. Some, in Europe. Others say that there is no hope, and that there never will be, that all is gone, and they are the only left. Many "opted-out" in the first few weeks of the apocalypse, most succumbed to the hordes of infected, but a small few were able to survive. Now, they must weather this onslaught of the undead the best they can. People will die along the way, friendships and trusts will be broken, but in the end.. will it be for the greater good?

Welcome to Surviving the end - A Walking Dead RP. This RP is based off of The walking Dead TV Serie.
In this RP we will follow the story of another group which we will form together. Unlike Rick’s group we will start in and around Boston where the group will be formed. From there the adventure can begin. Now there are, as in any RP, some rules that we all have to follow to keep the RP fun and unique.

-Respect the forum rules, this means no trolling, spamming, baiting, flaming ect.
-No godmodding, infinite headshots are allowed if you character has experience with guns, if not, he/she will have to take some practice.
-Be as realistic as possible.
-Be creative, sure you are allowed to make up simular characters as in the series (not exact the same!) and to recreate certain situations that occured in the series, however i will always prefer your own creativity. I will allow some characters that have military, police and other gun loving histories, however this will be limited since the RP is about the regular people with regular jobs ect.
-Make Quality posts, I know most of the time will be spend on talking with others and it might affect the qualtiy/lenght of our posts, however try to keep it as on a good level as much as possible. One liners are not allowed though.

-Becouse this RP seems pretty wanted while being closed, you can reserve a spot in the RP. Once a place becomes free i will send you a TG (in order of the reservation date) so you can make an app first-

History: Born in Moscow, RSFSR, USSR. Yury grew up in a relatively good home. His mother was a housewife and his father was a director of a metal factory. He grew up with a twin brother who became a soldier and a younger sister who became a nurse. Yury went to the Moscow University to study economics until the USSR fell. After the fall of the USSR Yury and his father started to head into the buisness life, which eventually made them very wealthy people.
The father of Yury died in 2003 and his mother soon after in 2005.

During the early days of the outbreak Yury went to Boston for a buisness meeting, he thought that the outbreak would be stopped early on. Three days later however he was told to stay in the hotel for safety reasons. He watched the news and saw it all happening. He hid himself under the bed at some point when people stormed the hotel. Once he came out he noticed that the people had been killed by these men. While searching for food he got into trouble when a walker came at him. Azad Hussaini saved him from the walker. Both wanted to go back to their nations, however now that the US had fallen there wasn’t any plane or ship leaving. Up till now they kept themselves in the hotel, only going out to search for food and other supplies, hoping that somebody would come and safe them.
Personality: Yury is a calm person, he doesn’t get scared easely. He always calculates his moves, which works pretty good most of the time. Becouse of that he often gets nervous when he has to take bigger risks, something he doesn’t like to do. He knows how to handle people very well and can often see if somebody comes for the right or wrong reasons.
Skills: Skilled in Negotiation, Planning, Organizing and he knows how to operate a small aircraft.

Race: Middle-Eastern
History: Born in Khost, Afghanistan, Azad never had the childhood one should have. His father was amongst those that fought against the Soviets and he later became part of the Taliban. His mother was a housewife and his two brothers followed their father. Azad however became a construction worker, a rewarding job without real danger. In 2001 his life changed, his father and one of his brothers got killed by the invading forces. During the occupation Azad refused to cooperate with the invaders, which eventually led to him losing his job. In 2004 his other brother, mother, wife and son got killed during a battle on the countryside. Azad blamed it on the foreigners and he ended up joining the Taliban aswell. Becouse of his low profile the Taliban learned him how to make a bomb and how to shoot with assault rifles and pistols. After his training Azad fled to the US together with his daughter, the only family he had left. Once in the US he became a construction worker again, his daughter went to school and all went fine, however Azad kept his anger against this country and continued to look for a target to bomb.

During the outbreak Azad and his daughter locked themselves into their home. When they ran out of food Azad went out to search for food. Upon returning he noticed that the door of his house stood wide open. His worst fears became reality once he stepped in and noticed his daughter with a bitemark. He killed his daughter to save her from becoming a walker before he started to wander around. He did this untill he met Yury at the hotel.
Personality: Azad was always an outspoken person who wasn’t afraid of expressing his opinion, this all changed during the time of the war in his home country. He became much more watchfull when he expressed his opinions to other people. Since his daughter died he has become a very quiet person, keeping most of the time to himself. He’s a devoted Muslim who continues to pray 5 times a day no matter what.
Skills: Skilled with any construction works, knows how to handle Assault Rifles and Pistols and he also knows how to build an IED.

History: James grew up in a small and rather poor family. His father wasn't around so all he had was his mother who tried to make the best of it. The neighbourhood where James grew up was a bad one. As many James joined a gang on early age, doing small criminal stuff like dealing drugs and theft. When he got 17 his brother got killed by another gang. James his mother, worried already, had enough at that point. She called in help from a local police officer who took James in only a few days after the death of James his brother. James swore that he would stay out of gangs and thanks to his new home he eventually got indeed out of it. He went to school and became a mechanic. From there his life got alot better, he found himself a steady job, a nice appartment and from time to time a girlfriend. Becouse he worked most of the time he never held on to relations and eventually all failed, but it was alright. James was already happy enough to be still alive with his mother and the policeman who became a father figure for him.

During the early days of the outbreak James was shocked by the happenings, he even took a few days free from work to keep up with the news. He found it strange and couldn't exactly put it in place. After a few weeks, when things started to get worse, James called his mother and told her to get over, this however never happend. While searching with the police officer for her they found her car, filled with alot of blood but no body. After that James slipped into a depression, feeling bad about choices he made in his life and wondering if he coudl have done something. While dragging himself on to stay alive he got another blowback when the police officer died during the massive riots in the city. From that point he locked himself into his home, not knowing what to do or where to go.
Personality: James used to be a caring and funny guy who loved to be around people and he enjoyed life in all possible ways. Since the outbreak he has become a depressed person, lost in his own mind...
Skills: He's skilled with most mechanical works, think of cars, machines ect.
Weapons: A shifting wrench

She was an intelligent child, but struggled with bullying and fear of the crime that ran wild through Queens. At age 17, she ran away with her boyfriend to Province, but they broke up and she returned to her family. Ashleigh was going to Harvard when the shit hit the fan. Her family was poor, but she was intelligent and was let in for free. Ashleigh ended up being stuck in the University for 6 weeks, holding her own against raiders and Rotters, until she was discovered by Staff Sergeant Michael Wolf of the USMC. He brought her to the Fenway Park Refugee Center, where they bonded and began to spend nights together. While Michael was gone on a run, a band of Raiders attacked the Camp. Despite being killed, the gundire attracted a horde which overran the defenses. Ashleigh locked herself in the Command Center to be safe.
Personality: Kind and caring. Understanding of others and independent
Skills: Great shot and great with medical procedures, for she was after a medical career at Harvard

History: Born in southern England's Portsmouth, David had a good youth, living with a younger brother and sister. His dad worked as a financial advisor for a amateur soccer team and his mom as a good housewife. When he was 22 years of age, David met the young and beautyful Sarah Westerfield. He loved her and after 2 years, they got married and moved to New York. Because David got a job as a pilot for Delta Airlines after being successfully graduated at CTC Aviation in Southampton. He moved to the big city of New York to start his career off at the main station of Delta Airlines, which is at John F. Kennedy Airport. In 2012 Sarah gave birth to their first child, a beautyful baby girl, named Brittany.

At some point, David was getting ready for work, making his lunch for work and watching the news in the meantime. That's when he heard there was a hospital in London being on lockdown, because patients were acting odd and were attacking eachother. Nobody of the employees knew what was going on. A young nurse got out and told in an interview that the patients just took a bite from the arm of her colleague, but she was so frightened of the whole situation and just ran and ran and ran.

Two days later the same thing happened all over the southern part of England. Southampton, London, Dorchester, Brighton, all were hit by this strange disease. Nobody knew what was the cause of this. When David saw this in the newspaper during his lunch, he didn't hesitate to call down his parents to see if they were okay. David tried and tried, but nobody answered. Then, after a few times of trying, a strange man answered the phone. David asked who he was and where his parents, brother and sister were. When the strange man told David that they just found 4 bodies in the barn, David knew enough, they committed suicide because they just couldn't get out after being overrun by a horde.

On one morning, David woke up because of the loud screams on the streets, just outside of his apartment downtown. He lokked outside the window and saw people running, he looked to the right and his eyes began to widen. He woke up Sarah, grabbed his 2-year old daughter Brittany, sprinted out of the back of the appartmentcomplex and ran to their car. Sarah didn't know that on the left side of the backdoor was a deceased man laying down against wall. the man grabbed Sarah by the leg and Sarah fell down. "Run, run!!", said Sarah to David. David an Brittany made it the their car and they drove away in tears. His beloved wife died and he doesn't know how to handle this kind of situaton. After stopping at a gas station and recap on the situation, the two went to the north. They said on radio that the north was the safest place to be for the time being.
Personality: David is a former pilot, who just lost his parents, brother, sister and ofcourse his wife. Because of this, he is a little scared of what's going on in certain parts of the world. But despite that, he can coop very well with people and is doing well as a survivor. During the last 2 months, David has been living in the car with his little daughter, driving around trying to find little groups to stay with.
Skills: Good with people, caring, shoots pretty accurate because of his weekly visit to the gunrange, has a pilot license to fly a Boeing 767 and 737 (former commercial pilot)
Weapons: Set of golf clubs in the back of the car, a SIG Sauer p226 9mm round with 4 mags of 10 bullets, and a wheel wrench.
Vehicle: Ford Expedition (SUV)
Other stuff: A bagpack with food for 4 days, a pair of scissors, 2 thin blankets, a lighter and 2 packs of cigarets.

History: Born in Reyfordur, Iceland to Norwegian parents, Harald was raised in above average conditions. His father Dardan Estenson was an avid hunter and trained Harald how to track and skin animals. On his 15th birthday Harald used his fathers Nosler M48 TGR for the first time and missed all the wildlife. Fairly bright and well educated, he became a game designer for Ubisoft and moved to Canada. He travelled back to Reyfordur for his father's funeral and inhertited his prize gun.

His mother remarried and moved to Quebec City before retiring at 72. He was visiting his mother for her 74th birthday when all hell broke loose. As he entered is mother's house, Harald found her dead on her bed. She had no puse and wasn't moving. Suddenly her eyesopened and she lept for Harald. Seeing his mother try to tear out his throat scared Harald more than anything he ha seen before. He ran downstairs after throwing her off him, and hesitantly grabbed a knife from the kitchen. After stabbing her in the heart, bosom, neck and finally head, Harald broke into tears beside his mother. As he left he saw the entire street with bodies everywhere. He jumped in his SUV and drove home. He grabbed his gun, a tin opener and a rucksack. After stuffing the rucksack with food and water, he got back to driving. Harald journeyed south but ran out of fuel and was forced to continue on foot. (before and after everything went down)
Personality: loyal but doesn't trust others
Skills: knows how to hunt/track/skin animals

Name: Harald Estenson

Race: Caucasian
History: Born in Reyfordur, Iceland to Norwegian parents, Harald was raised in above average conditions. His father Dardan Estenson was an avid hunter and trained Harald how to track and skin animals. On his 15th birthday Harald used his fathers Nosler M48 TGR for the first time and missed all the wildlife. Fairly bright and well educated, he became a game designer for Ubisoft and moved to Canada. He travelled back to Reyfordur for his father's funeral and inhertited his prize gun.

His mother remarried and moved to Quebec City before retiring at 72. He was visiting his mother for her 74th birthday when all hell broke loose. As he entered is mother's house, Harald found her dead on her bed. She had no puse and wasn't moving. Suddenly her eyesopened and she lept for Harald. Seeing his mother try to tear out his throat scared Harald more than anything he ha seen before. He ran downstairs after throwing her off him, and hesitantly grabbed a knife from the kitchen. After stabbing her in the heart, bosom, neck and finally head, Harald broke into tears beside his mother. As he left he saw the entire street with bodies everywhere. He jumped in his SUV and drove home. He grabbed his gun, a tin opener and a rucksack. After stuffing the rucksack with food and water, he got back to driving. Harald journeyed south but ran out of fuel and was forced to continue on foot. (before and after everything went down)
