Still, modern robots can't operate similarly to how those in irobot. It's quite obvious, as even Japanese robots don't have the same mobility as those in the movie. We can probably reach that advanced in Mid/Late PMT.

In essence, your idea of robots in this era of war are more of an awesome, but impractical idea. They're quite awesome, yes. But in turn, you waste money on unproven technology that can get easily destroyed by tanks, attack helicopters, and even foot infantry.

Not necessarily my friend Alegeharia is tech advanced plus plating can be changed for Kevlar also US army have a mobile device called the DOG a quad peddle robot giving the base it can and has been enhanced for warfare .

And so is the Aqruthian Confederation ;)

Based on what I saw, the US Military's BigDog is a quadrupedal robot. However, you have stated that your robots look similar to the ones in terminator, which are bipedal. Then we have to go to its power source, which would probably take a lot of space in it. Then with the weapons: what will they be? Chainguns or pistols? How large should we make it so that we can store enough ammunition, but small enough as to fit in tight spaces like slum areas? Then we go over to how it's controlled: by an artificial intelligence or by men outside the battlefield?

Although with the presence of BigDog, the best practical usage of robots in this RP's timeline would be to support troops in the field, like carrying medical supplies and ammunition; not firing weapons at their foes.
North Korean music is better (and manlier) than South Korea's.

Agreed, I agree that I did not read the entire tech application, I thought Algie meant regular industrial robots and things like the BigDog. So no Terminator Bipedal robots, yes for quadrupedal robots.

Malik Velkari, 8 years old, Male, Tescorosso, King of Alegeharia
Malik Velkari is a fluffy bipedal digitigrade creature that is an angel hailing from the planet Celeste. He belongs to the kingdom of Alegeharia and has a brother known as Aither Velkari. The Tescorosso breed is a mix of red panda, wolf, and german shepherd. In some aspects Malik is a bit of a time traveler, being an archangel from the frost realm (Prince to King Arend) he has been alive since 1304.
Celeste is FT based, but in the year of 2021, it is currently ranging temps in 65-75 Fahrenheit. The planet is Earth like, and space faring. It hides its future tech within Medieval architecture and magic to appear less advanced.

I'm only approving the quadripedal robots, seconding Ghondra's acceptance. The bipedal robots I leave to you.

. Kuratas, which is referred to as the Vaudeville project in a promotional video, has two humanoid arms and four wheeled legs – and twin six-barreled Gatling guns – which fire BB-sized pellets at the rate of 6,000 rounds per minute. According to Suidobashi, the weapons are fired when the operator smiles – a system known as ‘the smile shot.’ Onlookers immediately likened the presence of the guns to the bipedal ED-209 from Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 movie Robocop. The device, which travels at just 7mph, can be set to move in a low or high position to enhance the pilot’s field of view. It also features a Lohas launcher – which fires bottles of water – and Iron Crow hands and ‘feet.’ The robot is huge – measuring four metres in height and weighing four tones. But it also comes with a suitably huge price tag, setting potential purchasers back $1m (£637,000). However, anyone wanting to buy one of the custom-built machines does have a choice of colors – including pink. –Sky News
so now its it MT just sayin so i can turn the rejected to to accepted as the article is 2 years old and *laughs in filipinas face* I'd have robots alright they would just be huuuuuuuge.

These might be produced, but they're not going to be even remotely as autonomous as those in that Matt Damon movie, Elysium. And it would be the quick work of one EMP pulse to fry them. Mighty expensive toasters, those would be.

EDIT: Let me restate this more clearly. The quadripedal ones are very stable and utilitarian. The bipedal ones are much more complex, meaning there's more that can go wrong. They're being field tested, yes. By the military, yes. But they're still a long way from combat ready. You could probably use them in civilan areas, though. Directing traffic, that sort of thing. It'd be great field testing and data collection. :)

I would use the more rudimentary versions for shooting at and wielding weapons. But you can get a tremendous amount of data by testing your good ones in safe civilian or corporate applicatinos. :)

Oh boy, this thread finally got some love. Taking a long-shot here with mechs, but would these be allowed?

The only real complication would be the power source (they are supposed to use a fictional fuel that creates a micro-nuclear reaction or something). They would have to be on some heavy duty battery so they would be precision strike units at best. Tanks would still be the main armour. The advantage would be that they have much higher mobility. However, they would require skilled pilots and would cost a ton of money. I still think they might spice up combat, since we're in the post-modern.

At the very least, i'd like to have the liberty of beginning development of something like this :)

Basically, one advantage of Quantum radar over classical ones is that it automatically detects radar jamming, rendering doing so useless as the aircraft would be detected anyway. I believe Lockheed Martin is currently developing such technology, so it could be acceptable to put it at Early PMT. I don't know whether or not it can detect fifth-generation stealth aircraft (I'm currently researching ways on detecting such things).

I'd say yes, but not for ten more IC years. I think that's an acceptable compromise.

This will mean editing your IC post, man. ;)
