The Brotherhood of Nod

Postby Nodian Suaria » Thu Dec 17, 2009 6:51 pm

Once, quite a long time ago, the Brotherhood of Nod was a fairly large region, incredibly active and with an interesting history. There was a period when the Brotherhood became involved in a war with a country known as Russia_Military. It befriended the nation Suaria and its allies to fight against this nuclear evil, and won fairly quickly. Russia_Military surrendered, and soon became allies with the Brotherhood and Suaria to fight off a Scottish Empire known as Roef. This was all in almost unrecorded history, but was incredibly active, and many lives were lost. The Brotherhood soon became part of an alliance of four regions, but all four of them fell into inactive disrepair, and disappeared.

But one day, the nation of Suaria rediscovered the region of the Brotherhood of Nod, and decided, with the help of its former allies, to bring the Brotherhood back to life. The founder, the Hiadentship of Herrebrugh, was inactive, but Suaria had hope that the region could come back to life. Being banned from the WA for past offenses, a puppet state emerged in a small city in the middle of Suaria, to become the delegate of the region and bring it back to its former glory. But all the members of the region are either non-WA members or inactive.

That is why I, the Protectorate of Nodian Suaria, call on you today to join the Brotherhood of Nod, help me get elected Delegate, and bring the region back to activity. I am calling on any World Assembly members to join the Brotherhood today, and help us strive towards our former glory.

Why should we? Just because there are other brotherhoods, it doesn't me we have to refer to ours differently. Some find it better to use the grander form of "the Brotherhood", but maybe others will agree with you, and call it by the simpler, modest "Nod".

-shrug- It doesn't realy mater, it would just make things simpler if we became prominent. Our Brotherhood is a rulling body in an intra (inter?) game alliance. Or at least thats how it works in our constitution.

This is a fairly silly debate, but I see your point. I think the Brotherhood of Nod has been referred to as BoN in the past, so maybe that is appropriate. Nod would be alright, I guess, because there are no other active regions with the word "Nod" in their name, but I believe the original purpose of the BoN was not really as a region, but an alliance, or, as it's called, a "Brotherhood". I also think it's some reference to another media or Internet, RL thing.

That really is quite a pointless debate. We are only referring to it as the Brotherhood amongst ourselves or when the full name has been referenced before in the same post. We'll refer to it by its full name in public.

*shrug* Isn't there already an RP "Brotherhood of Nod"? They are one of the more powerful alliances too...

The Brotherhood has not been active for a long time, but in its old alliance constitution, it said it's purpose was "To stand up against all forms of tyranny and oppression, wherever it may be". The goal was to lead mankind into a good future using the "technology of peace". Now this was all very well, and very old, too, but these days sounds slightly redundant, since the Brotherhood was actively involved in what is known as the Russian Wars to Suarians. I say, as part of its ressurectment, we review its old constitution and revise it as we see fit. Basically, if you can get a lot of active people who support you to move into the region, the region's purpose can become what you want it to be. We just want to see Nod alive again. That's all we ask for.

I was not aware that the Brotherhood existed out of the region.

And in both cases, here and the elections mentioned, the nations involved all seem to be relatively young, and in no way have shown they have the legitimacy of the original Brotherhood of Nod - a nation I recall having dealings with back in the day.

Pity. I had hoped to see a resurgence on his part, not witness a pack of pretenders scrabbling over the leavings.
