Our government is a technically military government lead by the Military Governor/General appointee of the Military Interim Alliance managing the transfer of humans from Earth to Mars due to Earth's decay. In customary respect though, the people's elected legislature is allowed to run matters freely of day to day running. The General only steps in if there is a gridlock on important issues or in issues concerning other colony members of the MIA. Political speech is also not persecuted, the people allowed to say whatever they want about the MIA and it's appointed governor.

We call ourselves a nominal congressional monarchy, with the following note:

The government consists of four branches: The Council of Kings, the Executive Congress, the Legislative Congress, and the Judiciary. The Council of Kings is a body of the five kings of Redentro, presided over by the King of the Commonwealth, who is elected by the people of Redentro from among the five regional kings to serve in this capacity for a term of ten years. The kingships are hereditary, but kings may be expelled via referendum. The Executive Congress enforces laws and manages most government offices and agencies, and is in charge of most foreign policy. It consists of members called Executors elected to five year terms from each region based on population. The Legislative Congress writes domestic laws and some government offices and agencies. Like the EC, the LC consists of members elected to five year terms based on population, called Legislators. The Judiciary establishes courts in Redentro, and is formed of nine members called Arbiters, who are appointed to twelve year terms. Three of these are appointed by the EC, three by the LC, and three by the Council of Kings, with each branch appointing one Arbiter every four years. As far as we are aware, there is no other government in the world that resembles this one.
