I don't believe transgendered is an actual word and every trans person I know, including myself, never uses it.

Many people use it... but ultimately, adding the "-ed" is utterly unnecessary, since the word "transgender" is already an adjective.

The issue, in my mind, is that sometimes the word "transgendered" leads people to believe that "transgender" is a verb -- that we're "transgendering". Which is annoying as fuck, honestly.

Ehh. Rust-colour wall, rust-coloured wall. Transgender person, transgendered person. (Spellcheck objects to "Ehh," "Rust-colour," "rust-coloured," and "Spellcheck". Apparently, it wants colour to be spelt the American way.)
