The year is 2661. 497 years after the Great Nuclear War on the planets of Prime and Silva.

The war was devastating on the worlds, obliterating their skies. The United Realms had detonated a majority of their nukes in the atmosphere, hoping the EMPs would disable all the enemies’ electronic systems. But the powerful blasts had also shredded the planets’ ionospheres. After a century of living underground, the surviving generations finally gave up and moved on to new planet—Enkon.

With no more industry than they could carry on their colony ships, the civilizations on Planet Enkon spent nearly two dark centuries trying to tame the world before slowly pulling themselves back to some semblance of modern societies.

There has been great progress in the years. Several ancient nations have reconstituted themselves, telephone wires connect most major cities, new large steal ships crowd harbors carrying more and more cargo between vibrant, thriving port cities.

TECHNOLOGY
Acceptable technology includes all technology from any movie, game, book or cartoon that does not involve an alien species, except the “Aliens” and “Predator” franchises.

We have arrived. We don't know where we arrived, who we are, or where we came from. All we know is, hundreds of years ago, our ship left.

We left in a Class-A protoype SPEAR Colony Ship. We were given knowledge, power, and a dream. Our dream, our mission, our goal, was to land on the Planet Aryia. Planet Aryia was a maiden voyage. It had never been attempted before. We left, and fanfare and gaiety ensued, until disaster struck. An asteroid storm. It slammed into our ship, damaging the engines and ripping off the comms unit. Garde rapidly ran around the ship, patching it up until it was once more spaceworthy. But, once everything had died down, we realized we were stuck drifting in space.

Each day dragged into a dull mess. Time passed, and every once in a while, people would rush to the viewing windows, hoping beyond hope, that the passing planet was colonizable. Each time, the results turned up negative. Kids grew up, People passed away, and time passed.

I am the ninth admiral to command the SS Starlight, and 543 years have passed. We are no longer sure who we are. We believe we are called the "Itharians." We have lost information concerning a lot of matters. It is a miracle that we found Enkon, because we were nearing the end of the rope. SPEAR colony ships are built to be self-sustaining, but not for such a long time. We began to ran out of tools, so had to make ends meet.

This is the legacy of the SS Starlight. Today, a new legacy was born. The new colony Aryia, named in honor of the designated destination, has been established, and a new day has begun.

Midgar,46566- The Grand Duchy has slowly consolidated itself on north eastern Enkon. While firmly extending it's control both politically and economically around a inland sea.It was time to reopen talks around the planet.
Ambassadors have been sent to the countries of Itharion, Ajerrin, Republic of new santiago, Athretvari and Ivstinian. The purposes of the ambassadors is to start relations with each country and the hopes of opening trade with each nations. Through the last couple of years there has been limited contact on the new world with the other countries on the planet.Currently the closet country is New Santiago. There are a bunch of currently unorganized peoples around Enkon. Most of the Peoples were from countries that couldn't carry over to the new planet.

President Junigka Pressed on Defense Budget as United Realms Begins Diplomatic Blitz

MARIA — Conservatives have begun critisizing President Junigka for delaying a decision on future defense spending until newly appointed ambassadors report back to Congress in three months.

Federal Delegate Szamsâhn Heilonno, (Szarthja, Conservative) a ranking minority member on the Joint Council of Defense said, "The president shouldn't waste time or hesitate any longer. The United Realms must maintain a powerful deterrent in order to safeguard our national neutrality. We cannot fall into the trap of necessitating alliances or allowing any power to disturb us."

President Junigka's office said in a statement, "The President remains committed to maintaining a robust and independent defense capable of insuring the union's sovereignty and neutrality. President Junigka continues to review the current state of events and believes any decision on future defense policy should be based on a reasoned assessment of the newly emerging international order. The reestablishment of communications have opened a new and fragile period in our world's and nation's development. One that cannot be hastily entered into, but instead must be carefully navigated so as to avoid the mistakes of the past and their horrific outcomes."

Defense analysts believe the President will approve a large increase in defense funding specific to enhancing the Realms defensive capabilities as opposed to offensive systems, but others are saying that Junigka will be pressed to approve several offensive programs in line with the UTR's decades long defense posture of maintaining pre-emptive strike capabilities.

"Realms defensive military philosophy is centered on the concept of mutually assured destruction. Second to that is the theory that the best defense is a good offense. In the Realms that's always materialized in the form of extensive research and development in offensive weapons capable of paralyzing an enemy before it can strike the Realms."

President Junigka a renown noninterventionist and neutralist, but also known for her strong support of the Realms defense industry, must still convince members of her party that any increase in defense spending is justified.

Analysts believe she'll wait for initial reports from ambassadors before assessing the Realms defense needs and making a decision. Each ambassador is charged with reporting on their new host countries. The reports detail each nation's history, government structure, main officials, and also a controversial assessment of each host's "potential threat level" to the Realms.

Nearly 500 Years in Space

MSSC Port Augusta, somewhere between NCON Star Systems 1 & 2 - When a planned nuclear strike was days away upon Valencia del Sol and the Solisian Armed Forces were depleted of anti missile munitions, President Rosario de la Cruz knew at the time the only way that the Solisian government & culture would survive was to evacuate to the Mare Solis Space Corps (MSSC) Port Augusta. Originally the spaceport was designed to be a checkpoint & military base for MSSC ships traveling from NCON Star System 1 & 2, but once news has reached that Solisian government officials and refugees would be relocating to the space station, the space station needed drastic renovation in order to support a large population of life. It took decades in order to complete the renovation. Some MSSC ships were taken apart and repurposed in order to complete the renovation. From all over the NCON Star Systems, MSSC ships were ordered to protect Port Augusta & provide transportation to & from NCON Prime.

Once the Solisian government settled into their new home, the government resumed activities. But for the majority population of Mare Solis, they lived underground in NCON Prime due to the war. During the middle of the war, the Astinian Federation was ceded to the Most Serene Republic for military purposes, and today there are Astinians living in the space station.

For nearly 500 years the Solisian government has cut all communications with foreign nations, even when Enkon was discovered the Solisian government at the time was skeptical. They knew that the nations they went to war against would be there and would not want to repeat it. In 2658, a new President of the Most Serene Republic was elected. Roland de la Cruz, a descendant of President Rosario de la Cruz, lead the way to colonizing Enkon. So in 2660, after two years of preparation, MSSC ships loaded with colonists left Port Augusta and made the trip to Enkon.

It's been nearly 500 years since the Aftermath of The Great Nuclear War. Years after the utter destruction of Silva, The United Empire of Ajerrin worked with Mare Solis, Spezia and other allies to leave the planet in haste. Cities were destroyed. Governments fell. Families were torn apart, left to die.

The Ajerrin Homeworld was abandoned.

Hundreds of millions of Ajerri boarded CONSA ships in the hopes to provide an opportunity for the future. A hope that the UEA would live on.

After twelve years of space-hopping sector-to-sector, the Ajerri leaders found a place to settle on an M-1 class planet - but the UEA was no more.

His Majesty Col Alronia Errin died twelve years after the war, still searching for a homeland with his wife and Empress of the UEA, Lelani Kawananakoa and son, Prince Colani Errin. A year before the planet was found, Empress Kawananakoa died, leaving Prince Colani in charge of a divided Empire in space with no land to call their own.

Dissent from all sectors and classes called for the disbandment of the Empire, but Colani would not budge. The Empire would live while he was alive and he promised they would find a new home by year end - and he delivered.

The representatives of the UEA agreed to continue the Empire and start again on Enkon. After 390 years of existence on Enkon the Errin dynasty was over. The Redstone Parliament agreed to establish a Federation in 462 PW (post war). For 390 years the Realm was an Empire in name only. A decade after habitation, the UEA granted full citizenship to all peoples and declared all provinces to be equal in status.

For the past thirty four years, the United Federation of Ajerrin has kept a low foreign relations profile. The voice and influence of the old Silvan, Ajerrin Empire was suprisingly silent. It's governing body, led by many of Lahuian ancestry, continued to follow the path of a non-interventionalist state.

When the Athretvari broadcasted an announcement last month that was heard by many Ajerri, eyes opened. People started to look outward for the first time in decades. Not only were the Athretvarians announcing their presence in the world, they were requesting an Embassy.

The world is changing.

Ancient friends like Ivstinian and Mare Solis arrived to colonize nearby Federation land. The ancient people of Earth Empire, Republic of New Santiago, 46566 Onza live on. Even new, unknown nations like Itharion have settled on Enkon, looking to expand their influence on a new planet.

Two days ago the Federation adopted a bill, which was signed into law by the aging President Kolia Ali'iloa, that agreed to create a cabinet-level Foreign Minister, which would lead the newly expanded Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Ali'iloa said of the law, "The people of the Federation have come to expect our policy of neutrality to mirror seclusion and non-intervention. It is time to put the mirror down and look at the beauty of the world outside our borders. The Federation will maintain its neutrality, but to think we are the only inhabitants of this planet is not only foolish but irresponsible."

Minister Loa Keilani [Koh’ Kay ee law nee] has been chosen by President Ali'iloa and approved by Parliament to be the Federations' Chief foreign affairs advisor.

496 years have passed since the Great Nuclear War ravaged Silva and NCON Prime. After the two planets annihilation, Onza lost contact with all of its allies on both planets.

While Endiyu was unscathed by the destruction, many problems arose in the aftermath of the destruction. After news broke that there was officially no radio contact with any life on these planets, panic spread throughout the nation that the Emirates would be next. Initially, the nation's collected arsenals of nuclear weapons were all destroyed. Then, when that didn't curb public opinion, all nuclear power plants were closed down, leading to fluctuating prices of power and many city blocks going without power during the night whenever the sun was not shining. This resulted in public protests in the streets of every major city.

The protests grew in violence over time, and just two years after the destruction, the first protester to be injured while protesting died from his injuries. With that, mass violence and looting broke out all throughout the nation. The National Guard and the police struggled trying to balance security with liberty, and for the first time in hundreds of years, the officers were armed with lethal weapons. As the death toll began to rise, other issues came. Five years into the mess, a ship carrying some four-hundred survivors of the destruction attempted to land on the planet, but it was shot out of the sky when the National Guard feared that it was the opposition attempting subordination.

The major fallout, however, began when the aboriginals struck back. In the Summer, six years after the destruction, the death toll of the protests had reached 3,171. Then, word got out that radio silence was coming out of Abu Al-Kahla Sinjar. Many felt that the truth was a government cover up, but when Opposition leaders visited the city with a National Guard dispatch and found the city to be in ruins, it became apparent what had happened. The government wound up being involved in a mass scandal alleging that the Republic sold its few nuclear weapons to the aboriginals. Although this was found to be untrue - instead, the aboriginals had stolen the weapon - the lack of a government response (A nuclear bomb was set off, but all of those weapons were equipped with tracking chips, suggesting governmental negligence) prompted mass speculation and uproar.

The government took to declaring war on the tribals, and began mass operations to capture the ones that surrendered, and kill the ones that would not. The nation saw brief unity as the aboriginals were flushed out, but this quickly crumbled whenever an astrological voyage found that NCON Prime had been totally uninhabitable due to the ungodly amounts of radiation on the surface. This led many to finally give up hope on the possibility of finding their family members who were on the planets, as out of optimism, many subscribed to the idea that electronics had been permanently disabled by the war - which was found to be less of a problem in comparison to what really happened.

Just a year later, then-Defense Minister Mus'ad Sharif and the military marched into the Presidential Residence and attempted to charge Malik Taylor with contempt of government. This charge was rooted in the disagreement between the two over the President's decision to greatly reduce the amount of weapons the police and National Guard had access to. Sharif killed Taylor whenever he refused to accept the charges.

Initially, the news was hidden about what happened, but when International Minister Mahdi Ebrahim and Vice President Jordan Khalifa learned of what happened, they outed the Minister. In the weeks following, several violent assassination attempts were made on Sharif's life, but none were successful. Military abandonment reached an all-time high as the chain of commanded had been practically dismantled. However, a group of soldiers loyal to Sharif made one final assault on those who were loyal to Khalifa and Ebrahim, who had set up shop in the University of Western Maledictoria. Sharif's men assaulted the University, and a mass shootout ensued, resulting in the death of Ebrahim, but the soldiers loyal to Khalifa came out victorious. The next day, Sharif agreed to meet the Vice President and turn himself in, but when he showed up to the University, he instead killed himself.

With a very small police force remaining, a growing amount of unhappy people, and a series of shootings and bombings in the streets of the other cities, Khalifa ordered that the high-speed rail system connecting the cities be shut down. This ultimately prevented travel between any city, as attempts to cross the desert were futile.

With the lockdown in place, two decades passed. Things had settled down at long last, but at the price of hate, death, and cruelty. Khalifa's Administration oversaw the construction of a few more large spaceships to contain the remainder of the Onzaian population, and whenever there was enough to shelter everybody, the ships were boarded and Endiyu was abandoned. Khalifa, however, remained to seek redemption for his undemocratic decisions. Along with him, a few cabinet members and family remained, as well.

Eventually, the Onzaians found Enkon, and settled in one of its deserts, where they would be adapted and comfortable. Years went on, and technology was able to return to its previous state relatively quickly, with radios eventually allowing the discovery of ancient allies, such as Ajerrin, Athretvari, Ivstinian, 46566, New Santiago, Mare Solis, and Earth Empire.

Now, the nation prepares to elect a new President, and Sultans prepare to lead their respective cities as the nation moves forward into a new era - from the dusk of destruction, to the dawn of a brighter future, and a better life.

Admiral Ling's log- Date unknown:

When we landed, we established our capitol, Aelia, and began construction of farmland to support us. Everyone had to do their share. I was in the fields, working my shift, when a black speck appeared on the horizon. Is that a ship? I had read of ships in the records, but never seen one personally. None of us had. All of the others began running to the city. I tried to stop them, but curiousity kills the Kemu, so they say. So, I left as well. Upon arriving back in the city, there appeared to be quite the ordeal. I guess the ship had expected us to have a port, but a port had never occurred to be important to us. How were we to know there were others on this planet???

Standing separate from all the sailors was a well dressed man. He looked around in disgust at our wood and stone city, standing in his iron monster. Eventually, they sent a life boat down and met us on the shore. The man introduced himself as Ulrik Kern, and stated that he came from Athretvari.

Admiral Ling, unfamiliar with the location, stated, "Where are you from?"

Kern replied, "Athretvari. You know of us do you not?"

Admiral Ling replied, "No. No one in Itharion knows that name. Nonetheless, you are obviously an ambassador, So we invite you and all of your sailors onshore to stay with us."

Kern grimaced, "Thank you sir, but I will be quite comfortable in my cabin onboard."

Ling winced at the slight, offended by this man's superiority complex, "As you wish."
Turning promptly, he walked back to the fields.

This is all wrong. All of it. We were supposed to be united. Now, we are only divided. I held a meeting, to appoint a spokesperson for us, and a formal government. There was much disagreement. One group of people, the devout of the colony, demanded a theocracy, and presented their candidate, John Requl. He claimed to have a divine connection to our Lord and Savior, Eldaron. Another group, the upper classes mainly, demanded a oligarchy. I, and most of the lower class representatives refused.

After days of debating, the majority prevailed, and Itharion is now a democracy. The other groups, outraged, gathered a small following and left the next day. Itharions population has slowly been decreasing, as these other two settlements attract more people. Our relations with these new city-states is currently unknown, but our temporary council has decided to recognize them as sovereign states. We hope to unify with them, as galactic brothers once unified. The three separate city-states, are as of now, Itharion, Tiriande, and Carnheim. Tiriande is ruled by John Requl, and Carnheim has elected a spokeperson. She is name Maya Letro

Our elections are in two weeks. I have been nominated as a candidate, and hope to bring honor to Eldaron.

Back story: Nearly 500 years had past since the Great Nuclear War the ravaged the old home worlds of the Ivstinii. The government, seeing the writing on the wall, took actions some might view as highly immoral. The average Ivstinii was lead to believe they would be secure against nuclear strike due to their extensive diplomatic ties to so many nations on each side of the conflict. In the mean time the government was preparing to leave the planets with those deemed "strong" enough to ensure Ivstinian's future on a new planet.

When the time came to leave the government had secretly abducted 100,000 people for their plans and forced them onto ships regardless of their desires to go or stay. The government also took as much information on technologies that it could save but took little of the actual devices believing they would only take up space and be irrelevant for quite some time until the new nation could grow and prosper. When the colonists arrived on the new world, Enkon, many of the colonists expressed their outraged at the governments actions. They called for immediate elections to take place once survival was a certainty.

A general Constantine Pontius was particularly disgusted with the corrupt actions the government took and decided to form his own army to rebel against the Republic. His goal was to establish a benevolent Regnum (Kingdom) with most of the federal power going to the Regis with limited power going to 20 elected advisers, elected via direct voting by the citizens, called Regis Consiliarios who could vote to veto the Regis' decisions by 11 or more votes in favor. If a state of emergency was declared however, a unanimous vote would be required.

Foolishly the government didn't take many soldiers to colonize the new world and most that were brought were highly loyal the General Pontius as he was a brilliant strategist. Not surprising as he was descended from the now forgotten general who was the mastermind behind the conquest of Blackacre thousands of years ago. The general raised 4,000 men and women to his cause. He trained them in secret for many year until they were battle ready. By the time their training was done a new capital city had been built and a celebration was soon to be held. The general decided this would the time to strike. At the height of the celebration the Consul was giving a space in city square. The general had his troops enter the city individually appearing only as regular citizens where they would go to their house to get their equipment and reform just out of sight of the speech and take the square by surprise. The Republic had 1000 men to its army not believing there would be any reason to raise more men and most of them were stationed far from the city with only 200 men at the city for policing purposes. When the trap was sprung the general's troops met no resistance, the 200 men knowing they stood no chance surrendered. The Consul was then executed in front of the crowd many of whom desired to see him brought to justice.

The general would go on to establish his Regnum and through he and his heirs wise rule it would grow large and flourish. The general, now Regis, was the only person brought from the old worlds with nanites in his body. This would prove beneficial to himself and his future heirs success. Unknowingly to he or even the creators of the nanites, they could be transferred to offspring during intercouse as their programming saw this as another bodily process to guard over.

Many years later: Regis Augustus II Pontius receives word that a man with a funny accent has arrived in Nova Roma claiming to be an ambassador to the so called United Realms and seeks an audience with the Regis. The Regis certain he'd read of such a name before agreed to meet with the man. The ambassador arrived at the royal palace and was met with immediately.

"I thought Ivstinian was a Republic...", thought ambassador Ornatse Tinla, "I suppose much can change after so long a time."

"Thank you for agreeing to this meeting, your highness. We of the United Realms were the oldest and closest ally of Ivstinian on the old planet."

"While much of our technology information was able to be preserved for our use later on, much of our history has been lost due to ignorance of our old republic. However I remember reading about some dealings between our people so I believe you and you seem quite sure in your knowledge. So what does the United Realms want from Ivstinian?"

"Our leader surely wishes peace, perhaps trade and an alliance with the Ivstinii."

"An alliance at this time would be out of the question. Much has changed and trust must be earned first. We shall agree to a trade deal however if your people desire it. That shall be a good start to our diplomatic relationship."

"As you wish, your highness, I can understand your reluctance. I shall bring word to my leaders immediately and return with their decision thank you for your time."

Tinla then departed for the United Realms on the ship he came on and the ship was given fresh supplies and equipment for their return trip.

Helping with Homework
Midgar,46566- Elizabeth Stuart was looking over her daughters history report. Of all things her daughter decided to do her history report on what happened to the Grand Duchy after the nuclear war on both Prime and Silva. Skimming the report she noticed the formation of the UPR and the sudden return of the Grand Duchy under the Uncle of the former Grand Duke and President Lamont Cranston. She also read the alliance of Anjern,Marie Solis,UTR and 46566 siding against the SUN alliance.

While the Grand Duchy was spared direct nuclear exposure both prime and Silva were heavenly hit.Lucky the former Grand Duke Lamont Cranston was paranoid and secretly built bunkers to protect the majority of the population from the fallout. Reading on the last message was sent to Arobea to help get the survivors off both Silva and Prime.Luckily most of the ships were off planet when the explosions happened and were able to clean the radiation up enough to start bringing people to Arobea. What was unlucky was that the New Grand Duke Malcolm Cranston was unable to make it to a fallout shelter and thus declared dead. Luckily though a minor relative was found of the royal line and declared Grand Duke. The grand duke position had lost allot of power at the time due to many successive weak grand dukes. After 300 years on arobea a new Grand Duke Malcolm Cranston the second came to power and decided to find a new planet to live on as a threatened civil war was going to happen on Arobea. Around 50 years after leaving Arobea communications stopped coming from the planet.

Around the 20 years before the settlement on Enkon a new constitution came into affect. Limiting the power of the Grand Duke.While Still head of the military, the right to declare war has been given to the houses and the budget has been also sent to the houses to decide.

Nefere Amedhor was born in Khemedj and rose to political prominence early in his life whenever he was among the first to call for diplomatic relations with the rogue nation of Maledictoria. Always favoring diplomacy over hostility made Amedhor popular with students studying International Diplomacy and Ancient Cultures, and eventually allowed him to be the Emirates's first official diplomat to the nation of 46566.

Ayishah Hussain
The United Technocratic Realms of Athretvari

Ayishah Hussain was born and raised in Khemedj, where she also studied to be a Guidance Counselor for students. Recently, however, she studied International Diplomacy, and played a vital role in making classes on other cultures mandatory in Onzaian schools, as they were in ancient times. She also has a deep fascination for advanced technology, and this affinity has made her perfect to be the Emirates's first official diplomat to the United Technocratic Realms.

Leila Ahmed
The United Federation of Ajerrin

Leila Ahmed was born in Akhmis, but moved to Aqqak a few years after her birth with her family. A brilliant environmentalist, Ahmed excelled in school, and has written a number of scientifically-renowned journals about agriculture and environmental preservation. She also made several improvements to Onza's systems of agriculture in the desert, greatly improving crop yields and production. Her love for the environment, as well as knowledge of how industry can leave a damaging carbon footprint, has allowed her to be the Emirates's first official diplomat to the United Federation of Ajerrin.

Essa Saqqaf
The Regnum of Ivstinian

Essa Saqqaf was born in Memphun, where he has lived all of his life. Saqqaf was frequently truant, and got in trouble for skipping school on several occasions. Eventually, however, Essa opted to attend a specialty school for economics where he quickly demonstrated an incredible ability to analyze financial figures under pressure. As a result, Essa became a prominent economist, which has allowed him to serve as the Emirates's first official diplomat to the Regnum of Ivstinian.

Jordan El-Ghazzawy
The East Ibsenian Colony of Itharion

Jordan El-Ghazzawy was born in Akhmis, where he studied law and worked as a lawyer for the city for many years. He was ranked number two in the nation on a list of the 500 Greatest Lawyers in the magazine, Times Legal. He was also an immensely popular writer for sometime for his political works on democratic socialism and Onza as a collection of states governed by Sultans. His extensive ability to analyze data and debate has made him prominent in the nation, as well as qualifying him to serve as the Emirates's first official diplomat to the East Ibsenian Colony of Itharion.

Musa Abdulrashid
The Great Republic of New Santiago

Musa Abdulrashid was born in Khajil, which he eventually established as the most bilingually-fluent city in Onza. Abdulrashid studied many different languages from a young age, and is now a prodigiously fluent speaker of six different languages - three of which are ancient tongues. He is well qualified to serve as the Emirates's first official diplomat to the Grand Dominion of Earth Empire.

Samiya Boulos
The Most Serene Republic of Mare Solis

Samiya Boulos was born in Khasekhemre, where she studied to become an educator. Initially, she was fired from teaching and told that she was "unfit to be an educator," but just months later, she was hired as Principal of an under-performing public school, which she turned around remarkably well. Since then, Boulos has been all over the nation reforming dysfunctional public schools and turning them into the highest-scoring. This makes her an excellent candidate to be the Emirates's first official diplomat to the Most Serene Republic of Mare Solis.

Raza Amjad
The Second Republic of Countriopia

Raza Amjad was born in Akhmis, where he also studied and became a human rights adviser to local policymakers. Amjad rose to prominence with his extensive writings on topics like human rights and work ethics, and paved the way for Onza to be a leader in human development and human rights. As a result, he is an excellent candidate to be the Emirates's first official diplomat to the Second Republic of Countriopia.

Just after Onza finally arrived on Enkon, problems arose within the nation. The issue of a military, as well as how the new government should be set up, led to several disputes about whether the nation should just go back to before Malik Taylor had ever taken office, or if they should just implement the same system that worked, with necessary modifications. Just weeks after the landing, an unfortunately large number of Onzaians left and headed south.

While the Onzaians presumed the deserters to be dead, and carried on building desert-cities again, the deserters really had made it many, many miles south, and had begun building cities of their own, albeit with a different architectural design. For example, Onza returned to ancient design and made buildings of architectural glass with modern designs, whereas Maledictoria took the more industrial-look and made concrete, rectangular skyscrapers.

As expected, the Maledictorians made many changes to the way the nation was governed. Rather than using a traditional parliament, they opted to elect a High Sultan, who makes all major political decisions. While the seclusive nation's current Sultan is unknown, it is believed that Sheikh Abu Ali was the first ruler, as he led the desertion effort. They also opted to establish a group of citizens elected every decade that have the power to challenge the Sultan's laws. Though, the nation has, insofar, offered very extensive civil rights, its lack of industry is clear that its economy is unstable.

While now, in modern times, the loss of population is negligible, contact has been made with those who moved away. Deciding to go back to "traditional" Onzaian values, the nation declared itself "Maledictoria," claiming that Onza had abandoned its roots.

Maledictoria is currently openly hostile to the Emirates, believing that they are responsible for the revolutionary nation's suffering. Striking also is that the nation has a rather large military, which may result in conflict in the near future. In the meantime, however, Onza is still working to officially decide what should be done with the nation.

Defensive Pact of East Enkon

In view of the desire of the above-mentioned Governments to consolidate relations between the States of East Enkon; to maintain their independence and their mutual heritage; in accordance with the desire of their peoples, to cooperate for the realization of mutual defense and the maintenance of security and peace according to the principles of international law, together with the aims of the said Pacts; and to consolidate stability and security and provide means of welfare and development in the countries.
The following government delegates of . . ., having been duly accredited and fully authorized by their respective governments, approve the following:
Article 1
The Contracting States, in an effort to maintain and stabilize peace and security, hereby confirm their desire to settle their international disputes by peaceful means, whether such disputes concern relations among themselves or with other Powers.
Article 2
The Contracting States consider any [act of] armed aggression made against any one or more of them or their armed forces, to be directed against them all. Therefore, in accordance with the right of self-defense, individually and collectively, they undertake to go without delay to the aid of the State or States against which such an act of aggression is made, and immediately to take, individually and collectively, all steps available, including the use of armed force, to repel the aggression and restore security and peace.
Article 3
At the invitation of any one of the signatories of this Treaty the Contracting States shall hold consultations whenever there are reasonable grounds for the belief that the territorial integrity, independence, or security of any one of the parties is threatened. In the event of the threat of war or the existence of an international emergency, the Contracting States shall immediately proceed to unify their plans and defensive measures, as the situation may demand.
Article 4
The Contracting States, desiring to implement fully the above obligations and effectively carry them out, shall cooperate in consolidating and coordinating their armed forces, and shall participate according to their resources and needs in preparing individual and collective means of defense to repulse the said armed aggression.
Article 5
A Permanent Military Commission composed of representatives of the General Staffs of the armies of the Contracting States shall be formed to draw up plans of joint defense and their implementation. The duties of the Permanent Military Commission which are set forth in an Annex attached to this Treaty, include the drafting of necessary reports on the method of cooperation and participation mentioned in Article 4. The Permanent Military Commission shall submit to the Joint Defense Council, provided here-under in Article 6, reports dealing with questions within its province.
Article 6
A Joint Defense Council under the supervision of the Arab League Council shall be formed to deal with all matters concerning the implementation of the provisions of Articles 2, 3, 4, and 5 of this Treaty. It shall be assisted in the performance of its task by the Permanent Military Commission referred to in Article 5. The Joint Defense Council shall consist of the Foreign Ministers and the Defense Ministers of the Contracting States or their representatives. Decisions taken by a two-thirds majority shall be binding on all the Contracting States.
Article 7
The Contracting States, in order to fulfill the aims of this Treaty, and to bring about security and prosperity in the East Enkon countries, and in an effort to raise the standard of living in them, undertake to cooperate in the development of their economies and the exploitation of their natural resources; to facilitate the exchange of their respective agricultural and industrial products; and generally to organize and coordinate their economic activities and to conclude the necessary inter-east agreements to realize such aims.
Article 8
An Economic Council consisting of the Ministers in charge of economic affairs, or their representatives if necessary, shall be formed by the Contracting States to submit recommendations for the realization of all such aims as are set forth in the previous article.
Article 9
The Contracting States undertake to conclude no international agreements which may be contradictory to the provisions of this Treaty, nor to act, in their international relations, in a way which may be contrary to the aims of this Treaty.
Article 10
After a lapse of 10 years from the date of the ratification of this Treaty, any one of the Contracting States may withdraw from it, providing 12 months' notice is previously given to each member nation.
Article 12
This Treaty shall be ratified by each Contracting State according to the constitutional procedure of its own government. The Treaty shall come into force for the ratifying States 15 days after the receipt by the Secretariat-General of the instruments of ratification from at least four States. Grand Dominion and the Claim Upset

Today the Grand Dominion has made known its frustration dealing with Government of Mare Solis and its decision to abuse the will of the Grand Dominion. Taking the island claimed south west of the Grand Dominion is not taken lightly. However, the Dominion realizes that no formal declaration of the land claim was given to the international community. The Dominion also understands that the citizens of Mare Solis have already begun to settle and build up the new region on the island.

To peacefully and respectfully deal with this, the Dominion wishes to set up a discussion on how to split the rest of the island. The Dominion will not accept total control of the island to the nation of Mare Solis, but wishes to split the island into an east (claimed and eventually colonized by the Grand Dominion) and a west (Controlled by Mare Solis and remaining territories westward).

The Dominion sends an ambassador to the Capital of Mare Solis with this proposal.

MSSC Ships Is to Travel to Siberiae & Re-locate Survivors

MSSC Port Augusta, somewhere between NCON Star Systems 1 & 2 - In an effort to save more Solisians from the hardships of the ancient NCON Star Systems, President Roland de la Cruz has ordered the Mare Solis Space Corps (MSSC) ships to travel to Siberiae & pick up survivors. Siberiae, an arctic planet located in NCON Star System 2, was barely touched by the Great War. But once the governments in NCON Prime & Silva fell, the territories those governments owned fell as well.

In Navarre, the capital city of Miramar & Castillo, the capital looks as if it has experienced nuclear winter, the inhabitants of the city was divided into numerous clans & gangs, in which parties would fight for territories of Navarre. The MSSC is to travel to Navarre, and pick up survivors, no matter their clan affiliation, and re-introduce them to Solisian society in Enkon. As of right now, the only planets the MSSC can efficiently & safely pick up survivors is in Siberiae & Aborea. But due to the minuscule population of Aborea before the Great War, Aborea will be after Siberiae.

Failed Negotiations
It should be understood that both the Grand Dominion and Mare Solis peacefully and respectfully discussed what should be done about the current island issue. It should be a fact that the Grand Dominion did claim the entire island and the island would soon see Dominion colonists. However when it was realized that Mare Solis decided to take territory on the island, the Dominion decided not to take a stubborn approach to the situation and offered half the island to both parties. The nation of Mare Solis has every which way to expand while the Dominion cannot extend her borders to such extremes. The Dominion pleads to the East Enkon international community to understand the Dominion's rights as a native people of Enkon as well as her right to having a save and secure nation not 100% surrounded by other nations in the middle of a vast sea. The Dominion wishes for absolutely no aggression as it has already begun the process of assembling a peacefully Trade and Defense Pact. The Dominion asks the community to either grant the pre-claimed island entirely or the generous offer of splitting the island for both parties.

Foreign Affairs Minister Loa Keilani walked into his office after taking a three-day vacation only to see dozens of correspondence to deal with. “The world just decides to wake up and take sides… wait… that name looks familiar.”

Flipping through an old history book, Keilani turns to Mare Solis and sits down to review his history. Quickly he jumps, picks up the phone and speaks to his secretary.

After several minutes a team of officials enter into his room and a call is placed to the Most Serene Republic that lasts for nearly an hour.

Shrugging his shoulders, Minister Loa says, “Our first diplomatic issue will be to help settle the dispute between the Earth Empire and our ancient friends the Solisians. Contact the Chancellor’s office of the Grand Dominion. They’ve proposed a defensive and free trade contract with the Federation. Have them come in. The Solisians are sending a team to New Hope as we speak. I’ve got to make a few calls to see who we will call together for this meeting."

Kihra Junigka finished reading aloud the treaty proposal from the Grand Dominion. She could hear several groans from the other ministers. She thought she knew the answer to this question so thought not to butter it, “Thoughts?”

“Nay!” It was Tcerga, the Prime Minister of Urartega, “The provisions of this proposal are too binding. It would infringe upon our steadfast commitment to neutrality.”

“Nay! It’s an alliance, true and through. We cannot commit ourselves to an unknown nation. Why we hear from captains in port, they have news of potential conflict already twain this Grand Dominion and Mare Solis!” Lora Kropha, Prime Minister of Hikuptah. She looked to Gabrel Szantosz, the Prime Minister of Yktia and a proud descendent of two Mare Solisians exchange students that happened to be studying the Darwin Space Elevator at the time of the war and just happened to be aboard an Athretvar transport shuttle touring the space-terminal’s exterior when all hell broke loose on the planet below. Gabrel often told the family’s tale of how they young lovers watched in horror as the night sky over Prime suddenly burst in bright, piercing points of lights. They strained to see beyond the planet’s horizon toward Mare Solis, but never knew what had befallen their homeland. They were quickly ushered with several other thousands that were aboard the terminal into a docked Athretvar battlecruiser. They never told of the journey, except to say with trembling voices that space was harsh and cruel.

Gabrel said, “Nay. We should decline but at the same time we must encourage peace and cooperation in the Mare.”

“Aye!” said someone to Junigka’s harsh stare.

Gabrel continued, “We mustn’t fall into hasty alliances, but neither forget our old friends.”

“Aye!” said many.

Kihra took a vote.

The United Realms would decline, but offer a proposal to work with the Grand Dominion and its alliance “toward the preservation of the freedom of navigation in the Mare Titanus, and its peaceful settlement and development. The UTR is a neutral union, but one dedicated to insuring a peaceful and stable world order and therefore strongly encourages the nationstates of the Mare Titanus basin to resolve any issues arising between them in a peaceful and nonviolent manner. The UTR however will entertain negotiating a trade agreement with the Grand Dominion, and invites a delegation from the Grand Dominion to visit the Great City of Maria in Athretvari and therein negotiate an agreement.”

The eastern part of the island will go to the Grand Dominion.The Western part of the island and the 2 islands north of of the Western parts will be ceded to Marie Solis. A envoy has been rumoredly sent to the country of Maledictoria with the same recognition treaty. After a successful trip to the Grand Duchy of 46566, Ambassador Nefere Amedhor announced that the nation will recognize Onza's territorial claims and sovereignty, as well as practice free trade, in exchange for the same from the Emirates. The agreement passed the Sultan's consent unanimously after an impromptu vote was held in Akhmis.

The Ambassador will be returning to the Grand Duchy to ensure that the agreement's provisions are carried out as agreed, and to further improve the Emirates's relationship with the large nation.

There have also been unconfirmed reports that the Grand Duchy offered similar provisions to Maledictoria, though these are isolated and unconfirmed. However, no backlash is expected if this is found to be the case, while the Emirates work to set up a full-time government and elect a President.

Federation appointed Colin Crowe to United Democratic Emirates of Onza today. Mr. Crowe’s political, economic and social knowledge of the central deserts bring a great help to the Federation.

In a press release today, Mr. Crowe stated his first duty to the UFA was to work with the Onzanians and its representative, Leila Ahmed, to create a draft of mutual agreements that would be signed by both governments.

The Federation has invited Ms. Ahmed to the capital, New Hope, to work the draft with Mr.Crowe.

The 5th Century Commemoration Lustrum was about to start. Everything had to be perfect. If not, he would be remembered as the Prime Minister of that celebration.

Contemporaneous History of Countriopia wrote:After radio signals were lost with NCON Prime and Silva because of the Great Nuclear War, the Second Republic crashed. It needed to trade with its allies in order to obtain ores, or even processed metals. Also, it brought tourists, the base of the economy. When none of these were available, the government started a nearly autarkic economic policy. Onza was hit with massive protests, so trade, even in Endiyu, became nearly impossible. Thus, the unemployment rate doubled, reaching 5%.

This situation led to widespread demonstrations against the government, with the first violent protests in their recent history. Then, when the Onzaian mission came from Prime and told everyone that the planet was not able to hold life any more, a sudden loss of hope reached Countriopia.

Maintenance of railroads started to result too expensive for the government after about a year, so some of them, especially in the most isolated areas, were closed. Some of the old trains were recycled and converted into bicycles, the only means of transport for millions of people once they were left without trains. The rest were destined to a new project.

Some Onzaian communications about new starships being built revived this old aspiration of the colonisation of space. The lack of tools in order to mine led to the reuse of nearly every single piece of metal into this project.

Finally, after over two decades, the ship capacity overcame the population. At this point, the government only had power over the 10% of its territory, the rest had disappeared in the forest. Then, the Great Bye, as the departure from Endiyu was called, happened.

His mobile phone rang. He had to go immediately to his office. There, the whole Cabinet was waiting for him. “We have received a strange transmission.”, the Minister of Research and Development said, “I think that it’s worth listening to it.”

The loudspeaker started to sound. It was a bizarre accent. After 10 seconds of listening he heard a known word: "Athretvari". It was an old country present before the Great Nuclear War. Immediately afterwards, he told his Minister of Internal Affairs to broadcast an answer to Athretvari (directed to the whole planet) and another one to the whole. Everybody in the room was nervous. Then, the broadcasting started.

“Hello, it’s President O’Bannon from the Second Republic of Countriopia. We want to know if there are any other countries over there. We want to start diplomatic relations with you, if you are there. We do not want to fight with anyone. We are going to appoint a Minister of Foreign Affairs. The name will be communicated as soon as it is decided.”

“Now, we should inform our people about this”, he said. The communications technician opened a new channel for emitting to the main radio channels in the Republic.

“Hello, dear citizens. I know that it is not very usual to talk to you by this means, but we have two very important news. In the first place, we are not alone in Enkon, as we thought. We have received a transmission from other people. We do not know if they are humans like us, or if they are not, but, they call themselves Athretvari. Some of you may know this country, it appears in our history books. Because of this, we have decided to appoint a Minister of Foreign Affairs. Tomorrow, after the 5th CCL acts, I am going to do a press conference about all of this. Also, the name of the new Minister will be revealed.”

In New Citiopia, the capital city, some people believed that it was a joke, as they had lived for nearly 5 centuries without noticing any evidence of other sapient beings. Others went to the streets to celebrate that there were more people in the planet, but most citizens were afraid, as they did not know what could happen.
