Galactic Playing Field (OOC/OPEN/FT)

The galaxy is vast, filled with stars, and solar systems, and amazing wonders and beauties on a scale that none have ever dreamed of seeing on their own world. For countless millenniums, peoples and species of endless variety scattered throughout the galaxy have looked up to the stars and imagined what may lie beyond their world in the heavens above. For some, their species would never live to see that day, as wars or catastrophe or natural progression would wipe them out before they would progress to the point of space travel. For others, they would reach the stars, only to find them inhospitable and dangerous, as the new wonders of the galaxy they could reach were only to be met by new dangers as well. Over time, the galaxy had lost it's oldest members with all civilizations that once traveled among the stars dead or transcendent beyond the lives as we know it. Now, new players have taken to the stage, as races and peoples have grown to the point where they can take to the stars and explore the vastness of the galaxy, discover new races, interact with other species who have grown to that stage, or influence those that have yet to do so. Species may band together to unite under alliances, or fall into old dispositions and wage war against one another. What this old galaxy will now become, is up to those who now venture out into its great expanse. The future of the galaxy has arrived, now its fate shall be determined.


The Galaxy:
After thousands of years, the galaxy is empty. That's right, empty, no major alien races running half of it in a federation, no empire that dominates all of space, no menacing species that's sole purpose is to kill everything they meet, it's all empty. Meaning, for everyone that joins, you don't have to worry about being wiped out by something like the Borg or the Galactic Empire or the Cylons. Everything will be based on who joins and how they'd want to interact with others. There are remnants of other past civilizations which you may discover, but the primary focus will be the exploration and expansion of peoples and their new interstellar governments and how they will interact with others, as well as the progression of technological advancement with the long, LONG term idea of reaching transcendence.

Technology:
It is expected that technology has progressed to the point of FTL travel. How this is done, however, is up to the person itself. Remembering that the galaxy is vast, while you may be able to travel far, you're not going to be able to expand as far as you can travel in the same amount of time. For what is allowed, I'll go down the list:

RULES
This is very important, very very important. The idea of creating future tech becomes a problem when it allows for practically anything. Which means, I want realism with the style of it, and fairness for it as well. People can not just run around saying "I'VE GOT A BIG LAZOR SYSTEM AND IT'S A BILLION MORE TIMES POWERFUL THAN YOURS AND I WIPED OUT YOUR SHIPS' SHIELDS WITH THIS DEVICE THAT I'VE NEVER PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED BEFORE AND IN NO WAY COULD EVEN MAKE SENSE EVEN IN A FUTURE TECH SCENARIO" IF you can explain how something like that works, in comparison and say that you're thinking of it with war plans BEFORE the conflict you or someone else may cause, I'll allow it.

With the development of weapons, there is a choice between projectile based, energy based, or both. For defenses, there is a choice between projectile defense, energy defense, or both. The use of defense will work like this: Energy weapons will beat projectile defense, projectile weapons will beat energy defense, and complete shielding will defend from both, but will loose you access to effectively using fighters, which can be beneficial to taking down ships with complete shielding, due to the lack of capability to target and destroy fighters effectively.

1. I am OP, my word is law, my decisions are final, and no one is allowed to speak on my behalf in any way shape or form.
2. If I see godmodding from anyone, they're gone. And I'll write it in the story that they were wiped out by some plague or nanobot apocalypse or genetic experimentation gone wrong and dooming everyone in their race. This applies to everyone.
3. All techs will be on equal grounds with each other, if you're using Star Trek style weapons versus Star Wars style weapons, it's even fights, no Star Trek is more powerful because blah blah or Star Wars is more powerful because blah blah bullshit. Size wise and energy would determine it, meaning an X-wing type fighter is not going to do much damage to a Galaxy-glass type starship, but an Imperial Star Destroyer type would be able to fight well against it.
4. You're free to use any type of ships and designs, and mix and match at your leisure, but it will be standard that FTL travel is the equivalent of a blend of hyperspace-transwarp, meaning the speeds of hyperspace, with the range and freedom of travelling as if with warp or transwarp.
5. Any type of race or species is allowed, except for humans, as too many human space-faring empires have joined in game already, it's your choice when you join.
6. Have fun with this, it's meant to be fun!

Technological Advancements: Food replicating systems and fusion and antimatter technology allow for an infinite food supply, life expectancy of populations are around 250 years due to advances in technology and genetic modifications, artificial intelligence is developed for computer systems, however they are not to the power of deciding for themselves due to fears and initial experimentation in the development of it in the early stages of it, FTL Transwarp, High-yield energy phaser arrays, high energy shielding, etc.
Overview of your people/civilization (a brief history would be preferred): After a stylistic development much like that of Earth and humanity, humans unified under the the United Federation of Mobius (officially the United Federation, and now changed to the United Federation of Systems with the unlocking of FTL travel) after the last major global conflict and global scale assault by a rouge roboticist bent on world domination. The world decided to unify in order to be much stronger in face of that threat, and after the threat was ended, the world decided that it was better to stay united in the hopes of the world continuing to be a better place. With the development of FTL Transwarp, the people of the United Federation of Systems are ready to go and explore the galaxy they inhabit.

If you can drop 100 billion down in population to around maybe anywhere from 5-50 billion you're good since everyone starts with one home system, and also, with the application, all I needed were the three examples of fighter craft, cruisers, and battleships. All people can use more than those three, but just the three are necessary. ACCEPTED

Overview of your people/civilization (a brief history would be preferred): The Amarr Emperor is the head of a ritualistic, authoritarian imperial state, and below him are the Five Heirs, the heads of the five royal families from which a new Emperor is chosen. The Emperor's authority is unquestioned and absolute, but the archaic and bureaucratic system of government makes it difficult for him to exert his rule unless directly in person. Otherwise, the Five Heirs rule in his name, dividing the huge empire between them.

The Emperor and the Five Heirs can expect to live for at least 500 years. Extensive cyber-implants keep their frail bodies alive, even when their organs begin to fail. These cyber-enhancements date back many millennia, and have become a symbol of royal divinity in the eyes of the Amarrians.

Always a deeply religious people, religion remains of great importance to every Amarrian, a fervour which at various times has been responsible both for great good and great evil. Shortly after recovering from the closure of EVE, they began to expand their realm at the expense of neighbouring states. The nations they conquered were enslaved, a practice justified by their religion. Ever since, the Amarrians have enslaved every nation and race they have encountered, and today slavery is an essential part of Amarr society. This has, of course, tainted their relations with other races, especially the individualistic Gallenteans.

The Amarrians were the first of the races in EVE to re-discover Warp technology, notably Jump gate technology. After accomplishing this more than 2,000 years ago, they immediately began expanding to nearby planets, slowly building up their empire in the process. On the way, they encountered two human races, both of whom suffered the fate of being enslaved by the far more powerful Amarrians.


Soon after, the Jovians arrived on the scene and the Amarrians made a futile attempt to subjugate them, resulting in a humiliating defeat. To make matters worse, the Minmatars, enslaved for centuries by the Amarrians, used the opportunity to rebel against their slave-masters.

Since these fateful events almost two centuries ago, the Amarrians have learned restraint. They have slowed down their expansion and are less forceful in their dealings with other races, but still view themselves as the most powerful race in EVE, if only because of their sheer numbers.

Overview of your people/civilization (a brief history would be preferred): The forerunners came to this galaxy through the voyager systems. They have been trapped here after a malfunction occurred that has yet to be repairs. After many centuries of constant war with lesser beings the forerunners established an empire and soon welcomed the humans of this galaxy as their brethren. Their main goal is to reach their galaxy again and a form of religion has developed over time that they will one day travel there and reclaim what is rightfully theirs. Nitomians are devoted to the cause and will refuse information about it to non humans and anyone who would stand in the way of their final voyage to their homeland should be destroyed. That is the majority view of Nitomians, Forerunners or not. However, there are some who do not share this view.

Since these fateful events almost two centuries ago, the Amarrians have learned restraint. They have slowed down their expansion and are less forceful in their dealings with other races, but still view themselves as the most powerful race in EVE, if only because of their sheer numbers.

Overview of your people/civilization (a brief history would be preferred): The forerunners came to this galaxy through the voyager systems. They have been trapped here after a malfunction occurred that has yet to be repairs. After many centuries of constant war with lesser beings the forerunners established an empire and soon welcomed the humans of this galaxy as their brethren. Their main goal is to reach their galaxy again and a form of religion has developed over time that they will one day travel there and reclaim what is rightfully theirs. Nitomians are devoted to the cause and will refuse information about it to non humans and anyone who would stand in the way of their final voyage to their homeland should be destroyed. That is the majority view of Nitomians, Forerunners or not. However, there are some who do not share this view.

Always a deeply religious people, religion remains of great importance to every Amarrian, a fervour which at various times has been responsible both for great good and great evil. The constant combat veracious wild life of both plants and animals that life on the home world of Tybra have given the Dryad a fierce fighting spirit that can only be matched by tropical heat of their moon.

The Hamadryad civilization developed with a constant fixation on the Big One, a large gas giant which was a constant presence in the sky. Religion, Arts and Science developed to explain the presence of the Big One. This has caused the Dryad to become highly curious and adventurous romanticists. History to most Dryads is considered as a great race towards the Big One.

As history continued the Dryads created a egalitarian society with a focus on competitive individualism and cooperation to reach the Big One. Once reached, the city states united into a single confederacy under the leadership of the city state of Evenic, the City State that first reach the Big One. Yet as time progressed the power of Evenic declined, and the city states became a loose confederacy of city states who often bicker about galactic policy.

Yet this bickering does not stop the Dryad to set out into the universe. Their curiosity did not stop with the Big One. with the Big One now in reach, the Dryad set out to explore the furthest reaches of the universe.

a powerful Dominion. Once the Riven Empire collapsed due to war, and Human's were scattered, there was a schism within Aluria's part of the Dominion. Some wanted to retain the ways of the Riven Empire, while others wanted to make their own nation once more. War broke loose, and the Dominion that was once Aluria's was broken. Eventually, the ones who wanted to make Aluria it's own won, and the ones who wanted to retain the Riven Empire way were driven away. The Imperium of Aluria was formed from the ones who wanted to make their own nation.

Reasons for joining: To get back into the game with this nation, it's been in reserve for almost 9 months now.

This seems pretty interesting, and it can add to my FT alt's history. Is it a problem though if I ask to be located far, far away from everyone else, to tie into its canon history (~300 years prior to first contact, spent entire time colony-rushing nearby systems)?
