Introduction to Ponderosa
Founded in 1848 after the Mexican-American War, Ponderosa is a federal republic located in southwestern North America. It has a population of around 195 million people, spread out over 1.135 million square miles of land. Its government, headquartered in Santa Fe, is founded on the ideals of classical liberalism, with a great deal of personal freedom and a large, healthy market economy. Ponderosa's major industries include technological development, automobile manufacturing, mining, and livestock. Ponderosans enjoy high standards of living and a GDP per capita of $42,630.
Ponderosa is largely neutral in foreign conflicts, but it is a member of the World Assembly.
Embassy Request Conditions
Embassy applications that do not satisfy these conditions will be denied.
1) Applicant nations must have at least 1.5 billion actual population (as opposed to RP).
2) Applicant nations must not permit slavery, death camps, forced-labor camps, genocide, or other crimes against humanity.
3) Applications must be in legible English.
4) Applications cannot be made by robots. To make sure you are not a robot, do the robot test below.
Embassy Restrictions
1) A maximum staff of 50 personal is allowed, including a maximum of 25 security personal. Diplomatic staff and security personal may be subject to a background check.
2) A maximum of five vehicles is permitted. Vehicles may be armored, but not armed. One helicopter is permitted, but must be kept at a common landing area shared by all embassies. This landing area is open to diplomatic staff all the time, year-round.
3) No automatic rifles will be permitted for use by security forces. Semi-automatic rifles and inferior weapons are permitted. Concealed and open carry of weapons does not require a permit. Security staff may be subject to weapons background checks.
4) Diplomatic staff must be human.
Some restrictions may be waived in special circumstances.
Diplomatic Immunity
Diplomatic staff and security personal found to be in violation of Ponderosa law may be detained, arrested, and given a fair trial in a Ponderosa court of law. Staff found to be guilty of a crime may be fined or deported. Ambassadors in found to be involved in criminal activity will not be subject to trial or arrest; however, they may be deported. Any diplomatic staff found to be involved in a plot to wage war on Ponderosa, or to assist the enemies of Ponderosa, may be imprisoned and tried by a military court.
