Southern Flank War (Completed)

Postby Baggnagia » Wed Jan 15, 2014 3:57 am

Ever since the First Baggnagia–Greater Beggnig War, Baggnagia had fallen into the burden of instability. The first full-scale armed conflict between the two neighboring countries, triggered tensions between the Baggnagian and Greater Beggnigian communities in the Baggnagian region of Begnakia Southern Flank, which ultimately lead to an ongoing armed insurgency and instability in the region.

The Greater Beggnigian minority communities in the Southern Flank began claiming that ethnic Greater Beggnigian settlement in the region outnumbers the Baggnagian percentage and due to this, the Baggnagian nation has lost sovereignty over the southern provinces. Since then, the Greater Beggnigian people began demanding separation of the region to become the Socialist Republic of Southern Begnakia.

The Baggnagian peoples condemned such claims, viewing them as a Greater Beggnigian tactic to terminate the unity of the Baggnagian nation. The government of Baggnagia openly accused the neighboring Greater Beggnig of conflict mongering, stating that they developed the unprovoked Southern Flank separatism as an attempt to provoke Greater Beggnigian nationalism in a foreign country and create instability in the neighboring Baggnagia, which is viewed as an enemy state. It has also been speculated that the Southern Flank separatism is a Greater Beggnigian attempt to expand the country’s borders to the east.

Since then, various armed separatist groups in Begnakia Southern Flank, had risen up against the Baggnagian government and people, fighting for separation with any methods possible, even justifying terrorism. The most famous of the separatist groups is The Southern Flank Liberation Front (SFLF) .The Southern Flank insurgency lead to armed clashes, city bombings, hostage situations, raids, mass shootings, suicide bombings, chemical and nuclear attacks, etc. However, all of these events were only occasional and were not officially recognized as a war, until one fateful day.

Presidential Building, Silcenda, Baggnagia

President Zajc Avsenik has just returned from a Press Conference, during which he addressed the most recent tragedy to have struck Baggnagia. The event took place in one of the major cities in central Baggnagia, when a human wave of masked men, carrying a Southern Flank flag, had attacked innocent civilians in the city streets, conducting mass shootings. President Zajc Avsenik stated that the Southern Flank separatists “have crossed the line”.

5 minutes after the President entered his office, one of his personal advisers had stormed into the office with a disc in his hand. The disc had “Play Me” written on it. The adviser played the disc on a television, which was brought into the office. It showcased a video, in which an anonymous figure personally addressed the President of the Democratic Republic of Baggnagia. The figure spoke in an altered voice,

Image

"Greetings, Mr. President,

So…after all these years, I finally have a chance to personally address the man, who they call the head of this country – the “so-called President”. I might personally think that you do not deserve this title, but…who am I to judge? Your decision on what I am about to propose, will determine if you are worthy to be called President. No matter what decision you make today, your verdict will decide the future of this country.

I and my blood brothers decided that it is time to end the long lasting struggle. Year, after year, we have sent you messages, openly reminding you what we want, but you still seem not to understand it. At first we agreed to be patient and escape pressure on you and the rest of the Baggnagian government. We believed that the amount of Baggnagian lives lost over the years would finally make you understand that it all could be stopped if you only put your principles aside and stop to think for one second. We thought that you perfectly realized that as the head of this country, you had millions of Baggnagian lives in the palm of your hand. Just face it, Mr. President…you knew that your decision would stop us from spilling any more Baggnagian blood. But no…instead you decided to go the other way…The recent event in Central Baggnagia was our final message. However, just like all the others…you seemed to ignore that one as well…and that ultimately lead to our final decision…

We have already made it clear over the years that we – the Fighters for Freedom of the Southern Flank, have rejected your lying ideology, openly showing you that this region deserves better. But you seem not to care and continued plaguing the Southern Flank along with the rest of Baggnagia, with a fake ideology you call – “democracy”. You may plague the rest of this country with your Imperialistic lies…but not the Flank. Despite our eternal struggle, over the years we were forced to accept the bitter truth – freedom sounds easier to achieve than it actually is. It might take millenniums until the Southern Flank is truly liberated…but…I will not allow my people to suffer waiting for that wonderful day. Until then…we must look at other options within reality. If we cannot yet separate fully…we’ll just have to accept the fact that we have to choose the other possibility – concentrating on the Flank within the Baggnagian system.

In order to truly liberate the present day Southern Flank, we must liberate Baggnagia as a whole. And we must do that by bringing in the man worthy to rule this nation. You, Mr. President, are not that man. I believe that you already understood so far what demands we have towards you. If you truly care about this country’s future – leave the throne. If you will not do that on your own, we’ll do it for you and we will not hesitate to use full power to achieve our goal. The destruction that will occur may be avoided…your choice.

Knowing you…I would believe that you will not even consider this option and that is why I will end with only one phrase, Mr. President – When Silcenda is ashes, you have my permission to resign.

With these words, the video ended.
"

Meanwhile, Southern Baggnagia was at chaos. The Southern Flank separatist groups began full-scale war action all over the region. Their target was the capital city – Silcenda. By the order of General Valjt Bralskii, first divisions of Baggnagian troops were already deployed to Southern Baggnagia to stabilize the situation.

Southern Baggnagia

The Southern Flank separatist groups, lead by the Southern Flank Liberation Front, began capturing cities and towns all over Southern Baggnagia. The separatists used full power to achieve their goal. Massive destruction began consuming the southern provinces of the country. The goal separatists had two major goals – capture the entire Southern Baggnagia and begin movements up north, towards the capital city Silcenda.

The Southern Flank separatist armies made quick progress. They activities and military action in the southern provinces, quickly turn the entire Southern Baggnagia into one huge battlefield. The Baggnagian Armed Forces realized that they must react quickly and the Southern Flank movement up north must repressed as much as possible. If their activity is allowed further, the separatist armies may reach the capital city Silcenda in no time – an option not to even be considered.

Despite the numbers of troops already deployed to hold back the insurgency, it was not enough. More destructive military power needed to be sent to the Southern Flank. Several divisions of tanks were deployed to join the Baggnagian soldier divisions in the conflict zone.

The insurgents became aware that the Baggnagian Armed Forces began repressing their movement up north. Despite the separatists being able to match the force of Baggnagian soldiers by using absurd numbers of man power for human wave attacks, the incoming tanks became a real problem for them.

As soon as the enemy forces began sending tanks as an additional power element for reinforcement, the Southern Flank separatists ended up on a losing side. The increasing enemy power forced the insurgents to increase their own military effort by attacking the enemy units with everything they had.

The separatists began planting mines in every possible location that the Baggnagian tanks might use as a path. In addition, the insurgents split themselves into ambush groups, awaiting for incoming tanks and attacking them with rocket launchers and bazookas. Despite carefully calculated tactics, many insurgents were either blown into small pieces or simply crushed by the unstoppable tanks. Although, the insurgents were able to destroy a lot of these battle machines, in the end the tanks were unstoppable as a destructive force.

Kovsien, Greater Beggnig
10:56 AM, the 19th of January.
GBBA News

A revolt has occured in the southern flank of Baggnagia. The territories that have revolted are the same as those this nation attempted to liberate in the last war. The Kralj was informed an hour ago, and is yet to make an official statement regarding the uprising, but it has been ruled out that the Kralj would ever go to war with Baggnagia again. This issue is naturally of grave concern for our country, as we have always stood by the right of the Begnakian people to self-determination. In other news...

Kovsien, Greater Beggnig
12:30 PM, the 19th of January.
Radio GB. The Kralj makes his statement.

This morning our Ambassador in Silcenda handed the Baggnagian Government a
final Note stating that, unless we heard from them by 12 o'clock that they were
prepared at once to withdraw their troops from The Southern Flank, we would be aiding the separatists.

I have to tell you now that no such action has taken place, and that
consequently this country is in a proxy war with Baggnagia.

Up to the very last it would have been quite possible to have arranged a peaceful
and honourable settlement between Baggnagia and the Southern Flank, but Avsenik would not have it.
He had evidently made up his mind to keep the Southern Flank whatever happened, and
although He now says he put forward reasonable proposals which were rejected by
the Southern Flank, that is not a true statement. The proposals were never shown to the
Begnakians, nor to us, and, although they were announced in a Baggnagian broadcast,
Avsenic did not wait to hear comments on them, but ordered his
troops to attack the separatists. His action shows convincingly that there is
no chance of expecting that this man will ever give up his practice of using force
to gain his objectives.

Now may God bless you all. May He defend the right. It is evil things that we
shall be fighting against - brute force, bad faith, injustice, oppression and
persecution - and against them I am certain that the rights of the Southern Flank will prevail.

The Kralj has just announced the formation of the Talon Legion.

In the corner of the screen, opposite from the newsreader, this image appeared.
Image

Then it was followed by this caption.
Flag of the Talon Legion

The Talon Legion is a group of volunteers from the Armed Forces of Greater Beggnig, who are going to the Southern Flank separatists to aid them. Among them, 380 pilots, 5,000 of the infantry, and 200 tank crew. The Kralj has also confirmed again his commitment to the right of the Southern Flank to self-determination. He has also announced that he will be sending 150 pieces of artillery, 80 tanks, 40 bombers, 5 transports, and 90 fighters, as well as 20 attack aircraft.

Now, it was time for the propaganda. Videos of their artillery firing, their fighters taking out bogies, their troops running through a forest, their bombers taking out a 'bunker' and so on, with an orchestral version of their anthem in the background, which was oddly reminiscent of both La Marseillaise and Horst-Wessel-Lied.

The news of the Greater Beggnigian Intervention in the Southern Flank Conflict, have quickly reached the Southern Flank separatists. The anonymous leader of the commanding Southern Flank Liberation Front (SFLF) instantly contacted the leaders of all other armed separatist groups and convinced them to use their armies in providing a safe access to the Greater Beggnigian forces across the border into the territory of the Southern Flank. The rest of the groups did as they were told.

However, such military operations were easier said than done, because the western, especially south western borders of Baggnagia were heavily militarized, meaning that all the western provinces were filled with Baggnagian military personnel. The south western borders of Baggnagia were especially guarded by the military, since the south western provinces of the country were the territories that had belonged to Greater Beggnig in the past and were annexed by Baggnagia after the Second Baggnagia–Greater Beggnig War. Despite this, the Southern Flank separatist enthusiasm and goal to seek freedom no matter what the cause, has made them stronger and the heavily armed separatists were prepared to massively ambush the Baggnagian Armed Forces not only in the west of the region, but the entire western part of the country.

Since the Southern Flank armies were very poor and had no military vehicles, the separatists mobilized into armed unit and headed to the targeted area on foot, only armed with the weapons they had. The Southern Flank separatists hoped that if the Greater Beggnigian Intervention continues even further, then the Greater Beggnigian Armed Forces will provide them with richer military tech later on.

South Western Baggnagia

The Baggnagian Armed Forces were ambushed by massive numbers of Southern Flank insurgents who were throwing everything they had at the enemy. Due to their professionalism, the Baggnagian troops held up decently, but even they were given trouble by the insurgents, who just continued attacking every second. With the risk of the Greater Beggnigian forces jumping into the battle through the border any second, the Baggnagian forces felt surrounded by the enemy. Havoc quickly erupted.

In attempt to limit the enemy numbers and slightly clear the path for their progress, the Baggnagian Armed Forces decided that an Air Force should be assembled for the mission. The main targets for beginning were the Southern Flank separatist positions in the north of the Flank. Since, the Southern Flank insurgents established powerful human shield defenses on the north of the region, the Baggnagian progress was very limited. The separatist blockage also stopped the other Baggnagian units from reaching the surrounded Baggnagian positions in south western Baggnagia to reinforce them. The north of the Flank needed to be reclaimed.

That day was followed by an endless series of air offensives launched on the Southern Flank soil by the assembled Baggnagian Air Forces. As the Air Forces were launching this series of air strikes, the Baggnagian troops used them as an opportunity to move into the region as soon as there was an opening and the path was cleared from the armed separatist insurgents.

This just in. The Kralj has announced that the deployment of the Talon Legion has been delayed until the 23rd. Meanwhile, the arms sent will arrive on time to resupply the separatists. This is to ensure that the Baggnagian Government will be open to dialogue before their deployment. The Kralj had this to say about the issue earlier this morning.

The Kralj's face appeared.

'We hope that a peaceful settlement can be reached by means of diplomacy and mutual agreement. Although, we must be reasonable about the dialogue, because, as history has shown, the Baggnagian government seems relentless in its utter denial of the rights of the Begnakian people. But it's possible for this to change. If together, we can reach a settlement that allows the Begnakians self-determination, while maintaining the security of our two nations, we can end this old dispute."

The air offensives conducted by the Baggnagian Air Forces were a real hit on the separatist numbers. The strikes were very effective in cleansing the north eastern parts of the Flank from any Southern Flank insurgents. The path was cleared for the Baggnagian soldiers to move into the region.

This served as a signal of distress for the Southern Flank insurgents. The separatists knew that they had to instantly regroup and reestablish the blockage on the north. The insurgents, armed with everything from rocket launchers to rifles, instantly rushed to the north eastern part of the region to stop the Baggnagian soldiers from moving any further into the Flank.

The decreasing numbers, the poor state of their armies and the military tech advantage that the enemy soldiers had over their troops, made the military leaders of the Southern Flank armies really worried. From that point on they felt like nothing could be done to overpower the enemy forces. Despite the power of the Baggnagian troops, the Southern Flank separatist leaders thought that the biggest threat at the moment were the Baggnagian Air Forces. Since the separatist armies had no technological advantage and no vehicles, the only way they could fight the Baggnagian jets were with their AA guns. However, the AA guns themselves were not in such a good state anymore and were not fully reliable to always hit their target.

Seeing that they had no technological advantage over their enemy, the insurgents knew that the only way they could resist the power of the enemy Air Forces in their current state, were military tactics that would help them protect the numbers of their troops. Not a single insurgent soldier felt calm, since they knew that anyone of them is a potential victim of Baggnagian jet missiles. The only way that they could be safe from the enemy air offensives were by hiding and they knew that it was something they could not do, since they needed to stop the Baggnagian troops heading deeper into the region every second.

The only fact that served to the Southern Flank separatist advantage in their current state was their partial knowledge of the Baggnagian military tactics. They knew, that the Baggnagian Air Forces will only conduct air strikes on the enemy positions in generally deserted areas and because of that, the separatist attempted to keep most of their soldier numbers near heavy populated areas, especially cities and towns. However, they could not keep all of their troops near these “safe areas”, since they still needed to quell the Baggnagian progress into the region through the north east.

South Western Baggnagia

Meanwhile, the Southern Flank insurgents continued using their comfortable position in the western parts of the region. They had the local Baggnagian military positions “in the palm of their hand” and did not stop sending more and more troops to terminate each and every Baggnagian soldier in the area to clear the path for the expected Greater Beggnigian entrance.

North Eastern Southern Flank

After the air strikes and massive destruction of the Southern Flank separatist positions in the north east of the Southern Flank, the Baggnagian troops instantly began their invasion of the region through the cleansed area. The massive units of troops stormed the north east as a massive wave, literally destroying all enemy troops they encountered. The bodies of the insurgents were turned into mashed piles of blood as they were blown away by the combined rifle fire of the Baggnagian troops, as well as tank fire. The surviving insurgents tried holding up by firing back, however the only powerful weapons they had apart from AK-47 rifles were rocket launchers.

South Western Baggnagia

However, the situation was opposite in the west of the Southern Flank. The Baggnagian soldier units there were getting crushed by the Southern Flank insurgents. What was worse, they were unreachable to reinforcements, since north western parts of the region still had separatist blockades there.

Since the situation in the western part of the Flank was under control, the Southern Flank insurgents concentrated all their military power on the north eastern part of the region. Since the situation there was under the Baggnagian control and the soldiers were moving into the region deeper and deeper every second, the separatists needed to stop them instantly before the enemy gains complete control.

The military leaders of the separatists armies contacted their units to give them their new orders. The Southern Flank insurgents from all over the region began moving into the targeted area in massive numbers. Since the technological advantage was absent, the tactic was to overpower the Baggnagian armies by outnumbering their troops. Even though this tactic would not ensure victory, it would buy the insurgents more time until their leaders could come up with a better tactical move.

Silcenda, Baggnagia

Meanwhile, President Zajc Avsenik decided that it was finally time to give the nation and explanation of what is going on their country and ensure that the Baggnagian forces will do everything to ensure the safety of their people and help protect the unity of their country. President Zajc Avsenik called for a Press Conference in the Presidential Building during which he would give his verdict and answer the questions that the people of Baggnagia wanted to know.

Image

"My fellow people of Baggnagia,

As you all know by now, our country has fallen under a burden of war. Years upon years, decade after decade, the violent separatists plaguing our country and spilling the blood of innocent Baggnagians every day, have finally decided to rise up against our country. If it weren’t for the Southern Flank separatists, the Baggnagian soil would have never been marked with blood of the innocents. Our peaceful country now unfortunately has an event that will go into our history books with results that we have yet to foresee.

Even though it is not in my personal culture to ever accuse foreign powers of the problems in our country, as I believe the state itself is responsible for what is happening in it. However, the fact is just undeniable that the whole Southern Flank conflict had broken out with an incentive of foreign involvement. Because of my principles and personal beliefs, I will not try to avoid mentioning who should be blamed for our current struggle and I will not go ahead and lie that it was our fault and our current responsibility. The current situation is an exception.

Greater Beggnig, our “friendly” neighbors to the west had never hidden their support for the Begnakian Southern Flank separatist movement. In fact, no other country has yet cared for the separatist victory, apart from Greater Beggnig. No other government has expressed support for the Southern Flank insurgents, who I believe could be called terrorists straight out, based on their activity. I will not make any official statements for now, but I believe that we can all assume one thing – there must be something else that Kralj Paloii II and his government are interested in. The simple assumption might be our country’s collapse and demise, but that would just be too predictable. That is why it might and even must be something else.

Right now, I would just like to make a promise that our Armed Forces are willing to do everything for the safety of our people. Our soldiers will fight to the end to protect the lives of our people and the unity of this country. Baggnagia will prevail and I am willing to die for it. God bless us all and God bless this country! "

The Battlefield, North Eastern Flank

The Baggnagian soldiers were running forward in massive numbers without stopping. They had their M-16 rifles pointed forward most of the time, in case they saw the enemy coming towards them. At the same time the soldiers were forced to watch their step, due to the possibility of a mine being planted at every centimeter.

Suddenly the Baggnagian progress was interrupted by an enormous explosion, which occurred right in the center of the unit. The explosion wave blew away several Baggnagian soldiers like dust and it served as a signal to the rest of the troops that it was time to regroup and take battle positions.

It was revealed that the explosion was caused by a separatist insurgent who fired at the enemy soldiers using a powerful grenade launcher. This shot helped disrupt the steadiness of the Baggnagian troops and created the comfortable time for the Southern Flank separatists to strike. A massive wave of insurgent soldiers ambushed the incoming Baggnagian troops. The unexpected wave of enemy soldiers caused an immediate reaction of the Baggnagian troops, forcing them to instantly fire back. Such a messy collision of both sides resulted in a massive bloody fire fight.

During the battle, both sides were generally evenly matched. Even though the Baggnagian army had tanks fighting alongside the troops, the insurgents outnumbered the enemy soldiers with manpower, attacking the enemy with human wave attacks.

The Battlefield, North Eastern Flank

The Baggnagian soldiers and the Southern Flank insurgents were cutting right through each other in the battlefield. At first the insurgents held the winning position due to their advantage in outnumbering the Baggnagian troops, however, the Baggnagian tanks quickly helped even the number out. The insurgents knew that the tanks needed to be taken care of.

One enthusiastic Baggnagian soldier, who was shooting right through the enemy insurgents one after another, suddenly got attacked by one separatist from behind. The soldier was hit in the back of the head with a stock of an AK-47 rifle. The soldier fell on the ground and lost his concentration for a second. The insurgent pulled out his knife and was about to stab the soldier right in the face. Fortunately, at that fatal moment, the Baggnagian soldier quickly got his reaction back. He quickly punched the insurgent in the face, pulled out a grenade and threw it in through the collar of the insurgent’s shirt. He then pushed the separatist away and instantly crawled away as far as he could. The separatist then splattered all over the battlefield. The injured soldier was then approached by another Baggnagian soldier who helped his injured friend get off the heat zone.

Meanwhile, a small pile of separatist was cornered by the Baggnagian troops. Despite the insurgents trying to fight back, the enemy troops started taking them out one by one. Most of them were taken out by rifle fire, while the tanks finished what was left. However, one of the insurgents out of this cornered pile was able to run away, while the enemy was concentrated on his brethren. The separatist knew that as long as the tanks are present in the battlefield, the Southern Flank armies will continue loosing despite number of man power and that this why the enemy war machines needed to be taken out as soon as possible. The insurgent rushed towards the planted bob detonators that were hidden in the piles of dirt, dug up to be used as a cover spot. The insurgent ran across the battlefield, pressing the AK-47 trigger as hard as he could, firing at whatever he saw, sometimes even hitting other insurgents. He was almost near the hidden detonators and his goal seemed reachable by hand. However, just as he was near, the insurgent was shot at his left leg and his left shoulder. The insurgent fell halfway to his goal. He laid there for about a minute. Explosions were taking place all around him. Blood and mud were splattering on his face.

After the separatist got his reaction back together and his mind back in his place, he grabbed his rifle and continued crawling towards his goal. He tried crawling slowly not to attract attention and the only times he delivered shots were to reinforce the rifle fire of his brethren. Eventually, the insurgent reached the mud pile and outright stabbed his hand into it. He pulled out a bomb detonator and began pressing the button without stopping. The field quickly became covered in explosions, up to a level that nothing else apart from fire was visible. The explosions delivered much damage to the Baggnagian tanks.

The Battlefield, North Eastern Flank

The battlefield was entirely up in smoke. A lot of Baggnagian tanks were destroyed and the army numbers had dropped instantly. There was fire everywhere. The numbers between the two warring sides were evened out and the insurgents saw this as a chance to take the upper hand, before the Baggnagian troops regroup.

The insurgents quickly began setting up machine guns to wipe out massive numbers of enemy soldiers. As soon as the guns were set up, the insurgents began firing showers of bullets at the Baggnagian troops. Meanwhile, the machine gun fire was reinforced by grenade and rocket launcher blasts. The Baggnagian soldiers fell one by one.

The Battlefield, North Eastern Flank

The Baggnagian numbers seemed to be decreasing quickly. The field was open and there was not a single safe spot to hide from the machine gun fire. The separatists seemed to be feeling pretty powerful as they were comfortably sitting at their spots, taking out massive amounts of enemy soldiers by simply pulling the trigger. Probably, the hardest job that they had to do was point the gun at the right direction. Since there was no place to hide, the Baggnagian troops were in real trouble.

Fortunately, just as it seemed that the Baggnagian troops were about to meet their demise, air support arrived to save them. Several armed helicopters and began launching strikes at the separatist positions. The field jet again was entirely covered in explosions and not a single inch of land was visible through fire and smoke. The only difference was that this time the Baggnagian Armed Forces were responsible for fire and explosions.

The shipments to the fighters of the Southern Flank have arrived safely in the West of the Southern Flank. Including 150 pieces of artillery, 80 tanks, 40 bombers, 5 transports, and 90 fighters, as well as 20 attack aircraft, these armaments shall certainly help the Southern Flank in its bid for independence. However, the Talon Legion has been ordered to remain on the border until the current battle has been finished. However, not all of the Talon Legion is out of action. 200 of the pilots have flown in already, delivering the bombers with their crew. However, the separatists were very stubborn to have their own pilots fly these aircraft, as they were simple enough that with a quick run-down, the separatist pilots were able to get the aircraft in the air.

North Eastern Flank

With the help of the air support, the numbers were evened out and the weakened Baggnagian army was able to counter attack the Southern Flank separatist positions. The battle ended with Baggnagian victory. The Armed Forces were able to take a small portion of the North Eastern Flank.

Western Flank, South Western Baggnagia

Meanwhile, the situation was opposite in others areas of the conflict. The separatists were able to overpower the ambushed numbers of Baggnagian troops, operating the west of the Flank. The insurgents were able to overpower the enemy by continuously deploying large portions of their soldiers to continue pressing the Baggnagian troops and not giving them a second to catch a breath.

The Southern Flank insurgents were also very tactically prepared, since they established heavy defenses in the North Western Flank to isolate the attacked enemy positions and terminate any possibilities of reinforcements. Even though the Baggnagian Armed Forces were able to break away through the defenses of the insurgents in the North Eastern Flank with the help of the Air Forces, they could not repeat the same tactic in the North Western Flank, since the insurgents had heavily armed their blockade with AA weaponry and soldiers with rocket launchers, grenade launchers and bazookas. Sending in Air Force jets was a risk and chances were high to lose a decent percentage of jets if the deployment would have occurred. Because of that, the Baggnagian forces knew that the only location to invade the Flank would be only through the North East, until a more reliable plan could be created.

The Southern Flank separatists used the comfortable position that they have achieved and reopened the supply line that was lost to them after the Second Baggnagia–Greater Beggnig War. The Greater Beggngian Armed Forces began sending various supplies to the insurgents across the border. The supplies greatly enriched the Southern Flank armies and the separatists felt like they have finally gained the power to match the enemy armies. From being armed with only rifles and rocket launchers, the Southern Flank armies were now enriched with Greater Beggnigian military goods – everything from tanks to powerful modern military aircraft.

North Eastern Flank

Now that the North Eastern Flank was secured, the invasion of the region itself could be conducted. The Baggnagian troops needed to continue their movement deeper into the Southern Flank, however the soldiers were in a desperate need of reinforcements, since heavy casualties were suffered during the battle. The Baggnagian positions needed fresh troops to continue their mission.

Additional forces, comprised of soldiers, tanks and heavy vehicles with missile systems were deployed to the North Eastern Flank. Another assembled Air Force unit was sent as cover. According to the latest reports, the Southern Flank separatists were ready to defend the rest of the region with the help of the military tech, sent to them by an unknown supplier, which was mostly believed to be Greater Beggnig. The insurgents now had their own tanks and jets, meaning that a real battle was about erupt in the region.

Lollohian Embassy in Silcenda
Ambassador Thomas sighed as he read through the latest bulletins on the war. It appeared that Baggnagian forces had managed to begin entering the Southern Flank, but with heavy rebel resistance against them. The Biggnagians had supported the Southern rebels, and were deploying about 5500 men in support, along with generous equipment donations. While the conflict would likely not change for some time, that meant a serious loss of life, and Lolloh was determined to end that and bring about democracy. Ambassador Thomas then sent a message to President Zajc Avsenik of Baggnagia.

Dear Mr. President,
You are most certainly aware of the war in your country. I am addressing you on that issue. My government has informed me that we are willing to deploy at least one division of our armor along your border, supported by infantry, to help put down the rebels. While Parliament has yet to approve this motion, I am asking you now if you would like our aid. Some money to buy weapons and even several of our Su35s may also be in order.

Quevril, Defense Ministry, Lolloh
Defense Minister Hammik read through the dispatch from Ambassador Thomas. The ambassador's conclusion: Baggnagia would succeed in crushing the rebels if Biggnigian support remained at its current level, but that military forces should be deployed, if not only to protect the 400-some Lollohian nationals in the country, about 80 of which were in the Southern Flank, enjoying a good vacation. Hammik liked the report, and now HE had to report to Parliament on what he though would be the best course of action.

Report on the Status of the Revolt of the Southern Flank of Baggnagia
By Defense Minister Harrald Hammik

I believe that Baggnagia has begun to stabilize the situation. However, the possibility of further Biggnigian intervention in the war is quite likely, and could potentially cause a disastrous escalation in the armed conflict, leading to many more deaths.
Recommended Course of Action:
1. Support of the Biggnigian government through arms and currency shipments
2. Direct military intervention by a small amount of our forces, mostly armor
3. A significant Air Force contingent to act as an airstrike deterrent to Baggnagia against further intervention

Silcenda, Baggnagia

The letter from the Lollohian Ambassador in Silcenda has finally reached President Zajc Avsenik. The President felt an instant responsibility to respond to this letter, since every politician despite his nationality, was a potential victim due to the presence in the capital city of Baggnagia.

Dear Mr. President,
You are most certainly aware of the war in your country.

Dear, Ambassador,

Thank you and your country for your concern. This war has struck our nation unexpectedly and our Armed Forces are working hard to stop the havoc caused by the Southern Flank insurgents. That is why our troops would appreciate any help they could get in this battle against terrorism and for the unity of our country. However, I would like you and the whole of Lolloh to know that we will respect any possible decision that your Parliament is going to make. Even if your country does not send troops, we will know that the hearts of your people are in the right place and that you know which side is fighting for the right cause.

Thank you and God bless you,

Zajc Avsenik, President of the Democratic Republic of Baggnagia

Since the Lollohian Parliament has not yet officially passed the legislation of deploying troops to Baggnagia, President Zajc Avsenik decided not to hurry with announcing these news in order not to lie to the people of Baggnagia. The Lollohian possible involvement will be announced upon the decision made by the Federation’s Parliament.

Northern Eastern Flank, Southern Baggnagia

Now that the Baggnagian Armed Forces controlled a small portion of North Eastern Flank, the army decided to cleanse that area of any insurgents completely and establish a camp there that could be later expanded into HQ of military operations. After the area would be cleansed, an enormous military blockade would need to be established in the south of the captured area to terminate any possibilities of further insurgent access into the area.

North Western Flank, Southern Baggnagia

Meanwhile, due to the ongoing struggles of the Baggnagian troops in the western Flank, the military positions there needed instant reinforcements to prevent further Baggnagian deaths and complete Southern Flank capturing of the area. Since the insurgent armies were now enriched with Greater Beggnigian military tech, the blockade in the North Western Flank became far more powerful.

The Southern Flank armies in the north west of the region were now enriched with more AA weaponry and even Air Force jets and that is what was stopping the Baggnagian army from using the same access tactic on the north west as they did in the north east with the help of Air Force jets. Because of that, Ground Forces were deployed to reinforce their brethren in the conflict zone.

In order to complete the army’s objectives in the Northern Flank as a whole, by the order of General Valjt Bralskii, the numbers of the deployment of forces were dramatically increased.

South Western Flank

The Southern Flank insurgents continued their occupation of the western Southern Flank and elimination of the Baggnagian troops in the region. The separatist armies were advancing to the south with the ground forces being comprised of troops, tanks, jeeps, troop carriers, armored cars, etc. The separatists noted that mortar fire was coming their way and it was a signal that the nearest Baggnagian positions were close. It indicated that the Baggnagian forces were pending assault against their enemies and the separatists were ready to fight back.

The commander of the local separatist positions was given an MM1 Grenade Launcher as he was ready to rally his troops for a counter-offensive. The leader pointed his weapon at the horizon as the first Baggnagian troops as they began to appear in the distance. The Southern Flank troops began to advance towards the incoming enemy without fear. The two warring sides collided in an enormous destructive battle.

During the battle between the two armies, both sides kept outnumbering and overpowering each other. The Baggnagian and Southern Flank troops mostly took out each other during the firefights, however due to the movements of the warring sides constantly continuing the battle often transitioned into knife fights as the enemy soldiers often encountered each other eye to eye.

The Southern Flank troop carriers continued moving forward and crushing Baggnagian soldiers. The insurgents in the vehicle were firing all around with their AK-47 rifles, while the commander of the separatist army was cleansing the field with his Grenade Launcher. At first, it yet again seemed like the Southern Flank troops were winning the battle. However, as the Baggnagian soldiers began to feel the decrease in power and the pressure coming from the enemy army, they immediately called for air support. The helicopters arrived quickly and once again opened a rain of fire at the Southern Flank ground forces. The field was up in flames and explosions.
