THEOFFICIALFACTBOOKOFTHESAR'RITHRIL
The Lore of Nirshun'a-Lor'aa in the Soroun'ga-Hos Minor Cluster of Gamma Quadrant.

THECREATOROFTHESAR'RITHRIL
The Sar'Rithril mythos belongs to New Azura; information may be used at the leisure of the reader for the purposes of roleplaying.
The author wishes to extend much gratitude to Huerdae, Kyrusia and Naacal for his help in fleshing out this project, and for their
much-appreciated assistance with relevant points and formatting tips for this factbook entry.

The Sar'Rithril are a violent, theocratic humanoid race indigenous to Nirshun'a-Lor'aa, the fifth planet in the Qor'znor System, itself apart of the Soroun'ga-Hos Minor Cluster in the Gamma Quadrant. Evolved from lesser Lor'aai reptilians, the Sar'Rithril have risen to become the sole inhabitants of their home world and system, having systematically destroyed neighboring civilizations in the immediate stellar vicinity. The Qor'znor System, in addition to the Soroun'ga-Hos Minor Cluster in Gamma represents the dominion of the Suvor'kuul-Nor'Sire, colloquially referred to as the Blessed Empire of Sithor'kaan. It is so named after the God-King of the Sar'Rithril, Sithor'kaan, who established the principles of the theocratic hegemony which governs the Sar'Rithril, and also serves as the defining cultural paradigm of the species for the past ten thousand years of their existence.

The Sar'Rithril, sometimes referred to as Nirshun'a-Lor'aans colloquially—though this sobriquet has widely fallen out of usage with the collapse of the Pontanian Star Union and the Cour'escal Dominion in the Soroun'ga-Hos Minor Cluster—are a carbon-based life form with an upright gait. With a mean general height of two and a half meters, and a relative weight around one hundred and sixty kilograms, the Sar'Rithril are a large and powerful species possessing an intimidating physical presence and considerable strength. With an deep-red epidermal layer that is partially interspersed with the remnants of a former calcium-based exoskeleton, the Sar'Rithril carry a distinct appearance that is generally unmistakable from other species in Gamma Quadrant.

One of the most distinctive physical traits of the Sar'Rithril is the head; specifically, the jawline. Opposed to the typical hinge mechanism found in most humanoid forms, the Sar'Rithril possess a special jaw structure that features a bottom jaw that is separated at the chin, creating a mouth that opens upward and outward, with no bottom jaw as is customary. The expanse of the jaws allows the Sar'Rithril to consume food in larger quantities than other humanoids, which help fuel its considerable metabolism. Part of the exoskeleton is prominently featured across the orbital bones and brow of the Sar'Rithril, creating a protective casing that helps better guard the internal skull and brainpan. This material was considered extremely valuable at one time for its toughness, but the practice of obtaining the material from deceased Sar'Rithril has long-since proven to be too dangerous and uneconomical to continue.

The Sar'Rithril first appeared in quadrant historical records as a superluminal flight-capable race (or FTL Civilization) around five hundred years ago. Much of the biological, cultural, and sociological evolution of the species is unknown thanks in part to the cultural upheaval which took place during the generation that saw Nirshun'a-Lor'aa's first steps into the interstellar medium. Much of the society is based around the teachings of a successful ruling tyrant named Sithor'kaan, who was revered for his ferocity in battle and great wisdom. It is unclear if the deification of Sithor'kaan took place before or after his martyrdom in N-L C.Y. 1545 III (Nirshun'a-Lor'aa Calendar Year of the Third Era), but it is known that in the century following his death, most of the elements of the modern Sar'Rithril culture were falling into place. It was also during this period that the notorious Bluud Vakt began to appear—nanobot swarms which infest each Sar'Rithril, and act as formidable tactical weapons in a variety of situations.

SUVOR'KUULNOR'SIRE

The Suvor'kull-Nor'Sire is a powerful, albeit developing militaristic theocracy devoted to the adherence to the Qolt dov Sithor'kaan, a religion based around the worship of the God-King Sithor'kaan, who first propelled the Sar'Rithril into the throes of warfare against the competing hegemonic orders on Var'sul-Xana and Tychan-Sus'urx in the Qor'znor System. The Sar'Rithril came to view Sithor'kaan as an immortal being, thanks in part to the almost-prosaic approach he imparted on the necessity of cultural and technological supremacy. After his death in the final conquest of the Sar'Rithril's home system, his deification led to the establishment of a cult that has since become the pervasive influence in the Suvor'kull-Nor'sire.

At its heart, the Suvor'kull-Nor'sire is built around worship to the ideals of Sithor'kaan, upholding the belief that only clean lifeforms should be allowed to survive. The theocracy uses technological implants called the Bluud Vakt—nanobot swarms—to 'clean' the Sar'Rithril of any impurity, and to operate as an auxiliary of sorts to the race's cleansing purpose. The government is modeled after the religious leaders of the cult, as is the culture of the Sar'Rithril. Everything is predicated on preparing the species for successful harvests, where unclean beings are systematically hunted down and wiped from the remembrance of reality. As part of the religious edicts, the body parts of the unclean are often used as pseudo-currency. Other parts are requisitioned for usage in Sar'Rithril technology, mostly as a status symbol for high-ranking members of the Suvor'kull-Nor'sire.

Warships of the Sar'Rithril

THESORGROS'UR
The Sor Gros'ur is the military wing of the Suvor'Kull-Nor'Sire and, by extension, the Sar'Rithril. First formed on the Jura'tor, or Jubilee—fiftieth anniversary—of Sithor'kaan's passing, the Sor Gros'ur has quickly become the single most important extension of the Sar'Rithril and their faith, utilizing the technological prowess and cultural heritage of the civilization to forge a burgeoning interstellar empire in the Gamma Quadrant. The overall composition of the force is divided into two main brackets, the Ak'nor-Tas, or Host and the Skor-Gor, or Hordes. The Ak'nor-Tas represents the operational capacity of the military's warships, both atmospheric and interstellar, while the Skor-Gor represents the terrestrial forces of the military. Within these designations are sub-levels which further distinguish service arms: the Ak'nor-Tas for instance features four main components: the Hor'a-Rithun, the Ortur'Noruns, the Ator'Vor-Kors, and the Augur-Nor'gua. The Skor-Gor features six unique components: the Qor'aun, the Ru'gor, the Va'tor, the Cor-Na'sgur, the Hous'ra, and the Sec'sor. By default, ground forces are extended more honor for their service than the fleet forces of the Sor Gros'ur.

HOR'ARITHUNTHEHONORFLEET
The Hor'a-Rithun, or Honor Fleet is the designation given to the primary battle fleet organizational structure of the Suvor'Kull-Nor'Sire and the Sar'Rithril. Warships germane to this class are almost invariably capable of individual deployment with superluminal capabilities—the lone exceptions being the three classes of Mor'uudurs and the two classes of Vuursals deployed on the Hor'sur-Vaala carriers. The Hor'a-Rithun does not designate a singular battle fleet, but instead represents all cultivation fleets of war and dedicated warships belonging to this arrangement. Owing to the prestigious nature of a Sar'Rithril's service aboard these ships of valor, said service allows a Sar'Rithril warrior to accessorize his personal armor or ship itself with trophies—body parts of slain victims in combat retrofitted with Suvor'Kull-Nor'Sire technology to be of practical use.

ORTUR'NORUNSTHEORBITALDEFENSEFLEET
The Ortur'Noruns, or Orbital Defense Fleet is a special auxiliary of the main battle forces of the Suvor'Kull-Nor'Sire, and are considered the least honorable—and, thus, desirable—modes of service for a Sar'Rithril warrior. The Ortur'Noruns is designed for a singular purpose: to safeguard from orbit any and all extant threats which present themselves against fortified worlds belonging to the Sar'Rithril. Due to their dishonorable reputation, the crews of the two lone classes of vessels in this fleet are notorious for their ferocity in combat, and have historically enjoyed the worst attrition rates amongst the the major fleets of the Suvor'Kull-Nor'Sire and the Sar'Rithril. Vessels of this class are usually subluminal warships.

Vixrans (Vexes) — Orbital Corvettes
Under Construction.

Buuras (Banes) — Orbital Harriers
Under Construction.

ATOR'VORKORSTHEATMOSPHERICFLEET
The Ator'Vor-Kors, or Atmospheric Fleet is a special auxiliary of the Hor'a-Rithun honor fleets, serving as the atmospheric attack component for major operations against established planetary bodies. Because of the risky nature in which members of the Ator'Vor-Kors engage an enemy, the Sar'Rithril serving within are considered among the finest warriors in the Suvor'Kull-Nor'Sire, and are esteemed with great honor and prestige for their heroics in combat. Ships in the Ator'Vor-Kors are capable of both atmospheric and orbital combat, but are preferred for atmospheric engagements thanks to their greater maneuverability compared to orbital bombers and strike fighters. All vessels in this class are subluminal warships.

Murgor'tus (Mutagens) — Atmospheric Bombers
Under Construction.

Miursmurs (Miasmas) — Atmospheric Fighters
Under Construction.

Cur'aan-Soras (Contagions) — Atmospheric Gunships

AUGURNOR'GUATHEAUXILIARYFLEET
The Augur-Nor'gua, or Auxiliary Fleet is a special designation for the Pru'nor-Gorus vessels operated by clerics of the Sithor'kaani faith, along with the specially-designed transport vessels, the Druu'tor-Vaas designed to haul Bluud Vakt swarms, Ruuga'to spores and the Vaa'lor-Sar'Rithril to and from military harvests. Both ship variants are considered outside of the normal scope of military operations, though both play important roles in individual engagements, and both are capable of superluminal travel. The Pru'nor-Gorus vessels are considered the most important in the Suvor'Kull-Nor'sire.

Pru'nor-Gorus (Proselytizers) — Clerical Ships
Under Construction.

Druu'tor-Vaas (Dead Planes) — Ruuga'to Spore / Vaa'lor-Sar'Rithril Dropships
Under Construction.
