I mean, he had a defense going for him until he tried to defend himself on the thread, and I honestly can't see how anything weaker than a DEAT is appropriate. NS should not establish this kind of a reputation.

They've always protected pedophiles. I've been here off and on since 2006 and back on the old jolt forum I got banned for calling them monsters. Not one of these one or three day bans you kids deal with. I got 2 weeks for that shit.

Remove the yet from that sentence and it would be accurate. And I think this is an entirely legitimate criticism. Action here shouldn't require these guys to spam moderation with posts about how much they enjoy committing rape.

The issue is that the mods and the person who is basically a step down from Max Barry got together and decided that a warning was sufficient punishment. For some of us, that is a huge fucking issue.

Honestly, it would be better for NS to develop a reputation of being harsh on these sorts of things, then to establish a reputation of protecting criminals.

Look, folks. No one is protecting any fething pedophiles here. No one wants to. In fact, it's a goram sore spot with a number of us. You're making a bunch of accusations based on emotional responses rather than outright proof - which is something you all demand in your debates here. Proof. Not suspicion, not an inkling of, proof. And that's how we have to deal with matters on the site as well - which means the next time one of you gets accused of something that isn't correct, we don't come down like a ton of bricks just because someone else interpreted something you said the wrong way.

We have also stated clearly to all of you that if there is ANY further DEFINITIVE proof of illegal activity, we will act on it. At this time, all we have are vague and often confusing statements regarding a support for allowing younger kids the benefit of the doubt concerning their own sexuality. Not an admission of child porn or anything else, however much you may want to see it. Mob action is not now, nor has it ever been, an appropriate avenue for getting real justice. and that is exactly what this is degenerating into.
