I'm considering sending out an expedition to discover the source and secrets of the new metal, iron. I'm just not sure whether doing so right now isn't a bit premature, technologically speaking. I'll probably reach the purple player in Persia first (Hydrichastan?) and whoever it is hasn't been super-active of late.

Has anyone RPed any plagues or epidemics sweeping their population?

Dang. I was just starting to get into it. I still had to build the Fortress of the Sogdian Rock, conquer Bactria and create a pseudo-Kushan state a little further north. I had plans.

Still, Roman-era might be cool, too. How much of the world are we intending to cover?
