Do looks matter?

Postby West Floradia » Sat Nov 21, 2009 11:28 am

Well, do they? I have a few questions.

Maybe it's a good thing to not judge people by looks in everyday life. After all, color of skin, clothes, etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah. But, clothes can say quite a bit about a person, as could their hairstyle or makeup, so would it be safe to judge?

And what about dating? Should looks matter then? I think looks are pretty important. It's shallow to date a person solely on their looks (*lusts after Taylor Lautner anyway*) but looks do start things for me, at least. What about you?

In some respects, yes.

Looks matter to an extent, only in the sense that I need to be initially attracted...but, what body shapes, styles, etc., Im attracted to are far from set in stone, and after that its all about personality...

I refrain from associating with people who would be considered "ugly". I do not have fat friends, for example.

It's important that the person be physically attractive; that said, I find most girls to at least be "basically attractive".

Yes.

Unless of course it's not OK for a woman to ask for a female to ask for a female officer to carry out body checks. In which case, the answer would be no.

Being skinny, fat people stay away from me, I'm attracted to the girls that are shorter than me and weigh less than I do believe me there are chicks out there that are lighter than 130lbs, that aren't under age, they also have to melt at my smile.

I agree. Actually, you can judge a person quite by their looks. Acne and raggidy hair point out that they don't take care of their body the way they should. An "ugly" face however, is just natural. Not their fault. I tend to base things on personality, but looks usually relate to personality, in a way.

Sure. If I went to my GPs and found a guy with dreadlocks, tangled facial hair and wearing a bikini, i'd be pretty concerned about how serious he is in his profession.

Looks are one of a number of important factors in dating. They can't be taken in isolation but to ignore them is ridiculous

To an extent.

That doesn't mean I submit to the perspectives and ideologies of sooociiiety, those of which are hyperbolic of the standards laid by common normality, but in all honesty I want to wake up to someone who I actually enjoy looking at: thus, living with someone for years on end I actually enjoy looking at, if we were to ever get that serious with each other.

It's probably the third or fourth major factor contributing in my decision(s) as to who I want to love, date, marry, etc.

So basically you submit to sooociiiety?

I can't take the chances of assuming the feasibility that I've read you incorrectly, therefore, you must be eradicated immediately, in that case.

You should be reluctant to go as far as to touch him: from what I read, he submits to sooociiiety.

If you must insist on posting your incessant drivel, you could at least concatenate it into one post.

It does to me. :)
To me if they 'keep up' their looks it may also shows they have a 'tidy' personality too.

You only insist it is such because you know you are commanded to fight against it.

The result of immense decay in a functioning society, in its simplest form.
