Second order of business we would like to fund and purchase for evaluation purposes three modernized versions of the L Class Aerobattlecruiser (with further orders should the evaluation vessels prove their value.)

If at all possible a version of the L Class Aerobattlecruiser using modern materials and engines.
This vessel would be geared for providing firesupport to ground forces in low intensity/COIN operations.

What we are looking for is a high endurance airship version of the AC-130.
We would like if possible a 105mm G-7 hydraulically compensated gun replace the 4.7 inch gun of the original L Class.
No replacements for the QF 2 pounders
the duel 40mm mounts replaced with single 40mm L70 auto cannon.
25mm remote mounts to replace the 20mm autocannon.

As for the design request, this can be achieved. However, according to Prevanian nomenclature, this (no matter how large or small) will be an aerobattleship. We propose an airship about 400 metres long, with the armament you mention in addition to Rapier SAM, Starstreak CIWS and a small bomb bay/troop transportation area.

We will endeavor to complete said request as quickly as possible. However, due to the fact that we ourselves have need of a new COIN design, we will not charge you anything for the R&D.

We must regretfully inform you that the airship you desire is not possible: whilst the hold size can be accommodated, the altitude, cost, speed and range are impossibilities. Should you be willing to revise these all as appropriate, we would then be more than willing to produce a design.

(OOC: 5 km of altitude, a 150 km/h maximum speed and a range of 20 000 km are probably the maximum practical in a manned military transport; however, no such airship could fulfil more than one of those. To give you an idea: at 50 000 feet, water will boil despite it being -50 C; 100 000 km is about 2.5 times the circumference of the earth; 500 km/h is Mach 0.33, and the current RL airship speed record is a mere 140 km/h
In any case, airships are slow, particularly transports: thus, they should not be used anywhere where you do not have air superiority. Airships are good at bringing in heavy equipment/armament to airborne forces, but you would not want to entrust them with large numbers of very expensive paratroopers - aeroplanes are the better choice for this role.

EDIT: Please may you also give me an idea of what weight will be carried in the hold.)

The order shall be for a fleet of the same amounts of airships, but will be requested to be created with optimum speed and altitude capabilities. The weight required to be lifted is approximately 250,000lbs. The defined range of 20,000KM works well, and a speed of 150KM/h is also acceptable, if it would be possible to increase the altitude further then the Empire of Torgantine is willing to pay for the necessary development costs. 25KM Altitude would be preferred. Cost is currently no factor and as such if it is within the budget of our empire, it is acceptable.
