[PASSED] Repeal "Liberate Region of Reunited Muslim States"

Postby Feux » Thu Jun 06, 2013 4:04 pm

I did this rather quickly, so any tips and tricks will be highly appreciated like always. Please save all your bright red, bold, angry against messages until voting if you feel the need to post them, otherwise I will probably just ignore you. I believe this is the shortest proposal I have written, so I am little on edge about it. Not sure if I should be - knowing full well that there are shorter resolutions on the books - I typically don't like writing short proposals because I always feel like I missed something I shouldn't have, but there really is not much you could say in regards to this one. Like I said, if you have tips, additions, or anything like that, please feel free to post them. Anyway, proposal:

The Security Council,

Recognizing the horrors endured by the native community under the destructive occupation conducted by The Black Riders at the time of Security Council resolution # 88's composition;

Noting since the passing of Security Council resolution # 88, Region of Reunited Muslim States, otherwise known as RORMS, has been refounded;

Saddened in the lack of a regional community within RORMS to which the liberation resolution would hold responsibility to;

Understanding that the absence of a regional community is not due entirely to the destructive events of The Black Riders’ invasion but more accredited to time’s corroding affects on the region;

Believing that the fate of RORMS is no longer any business of the Security Council, and Security Council resolution # 88 holds no purpose;

Hereby Repeals: “Liberate Region of Reunited Muslim States”

The region was refounded 11 days ago, so I am assuming the moderators have not noticed yet. So when you click on the region link and it does not have a shinny liberation badge at the top of it, that is why. Also, the title is to long to put the whole word "Submitted" in it, so I just put "Sub."

Where are you 11 days ago to prevent this? :p

You waited just so you could make this resolution! *conspiracy theory*

You need to check your grammar because some parts don't make sense: For example: "Understanding that this absents of a regional community".

What does this even mean?: "...has been refabricated to serve new, unknown purposes". Just say that the region has been refounded and is therefore now none of the SC's business. Don't use big words because you think they will make you seem smart. Use the most simple words that most accurately and effectively depict what you are trying to articulate to the audience.

Use the right word, not its second cousin -- Mark Twain.

Oh, and all resolutions should be as short as possible while stating all of the necessary information. In this respect, I applaud your attempt here, although the line that sympathises with the actions of TBR is totally irrelevant. Something about RORMS before the refounding (where have all the natives gone?) would be much more appropriate.

I'm to lazy to attempt and appear smart. I wasn't sure whether I could use the word "refound" when I was typing it that lead to "...has been refabricated to serve new, unknown purposes." Also, I added the "TBR sympathizing" in case the silly argument about how repealing liberations lets raider groups when shows up. So it has its purpose in some extends. At any rate, I'll make some edits shortly.

ISRORMS the successor to Region of Reunited Muslim States?

It'll be pretty insulting to the people there to say "more accredited to time’s corroding affects on the region" when it's was being founderless and being raided that made the natives move away in the first place..

I don't see why anyone would be offended. You can also tie the raids into the phrase if you really wanted too.

The word used here should be "effects" instead of "affects."

affect: n. a subjective feeling experienced in response to a thought or other stimulus; mood, emotion, especially as demonstrated in external physical signs.

I will vote AGAINST this proposal because it has been authored by a foreigner to RORMS.

Hm. Well I guess that is a typo that will have to stay in the proposal. Oh well, you seem to be a little late to the party. Not the worst thing in the world, you and your clever against post. :p

Anyway, SkyDip is right.

These clauses seem to represent your central argument, and it seems to boil down to the liberation resolution no longer being necessary because the region is now foundered and there is no native community in the region at this time. All of that is technically true. However, it's also true that repeal of the liberation resolution is unnecessary because the resolution has no effect on a foundered region. Should a native community develop within the region, which is entirely possible, and should the Founder eventually once again cease to exist, which is also entirely possible, the liberation resolution would continue to protect any native community that develops there against griefing. Can you explain what positive impact repeal of the liberation resolution would have on a native community that might develop in the region?

I'm also curious whether or not you've contacted former natives of Region of reunited muslim states, and if any former natives have demonstrated any support for this repeal resolution. Given that the liberation resolution passed the Security Council with over a 30% margin due in large part to respect for native wishes, I would be interested to know if any of the former natives -- who some might consider to still be natives in exile -- have expressed any support for this repeal.

Feux wrote:Recognizing the horrors endured by the native community under the destructive occupation conducted by The Black Riders at the time of Security Council resolution # 88's composition;

These arguments, which I consider tangential, seem contradictory. It looks like you're trying to please everyone and pleasing no one in the process. Why should those who opposed the liberation resolution, some of whom believed Region of reunited muslim states was an extremist region that deserved destruction, vote in favor of a repeal that sympathizes with "the horrors endured by the native community under the destructive occupation by The Black Riders"? Why should those who supported the liberation resolution vote for this repeal when you later downplay the role of that griefing in removing the regional community?

I think this repeal is likely to pass because people will buy into the somewhat hollow argument that the liberation resolution is no longer necessary, and because you're an influential Delegate of a Sinker, but to be frank I don't personally believe it passes muster.

The United Democratic Republic of Kawther

I have asked some of the regions we are allied with to vote against to security council may all the wa members of RORMS vote against the proposal to "liberate" RORMS which is totally fake

http://www.nationstates.net/page=rmb/postid=3282388

The natives in the successor region are against, for what it's worth.

Why we should

Postby Austria-Hunagry » Thu Jun 13, 2013 2:20 pm

If the security council liberates the region of Reunited muslim states, there would be more control as to how the new government is going to be run and who is in the new government.
