Is your state Unitary or Federal?

Postby Allrule » Thu Nov 12, 2009 10:10 pm

Just wondering.

Allrule is federal, with power split between the government and the provinces.

Mivango is a very centralized nation, as is necessary due to the measures required by the Revolution. The ruling Party wields all power, and is headed by President Louis Tsavatsa.

Neither suit the government of Santheres without some serious stretching of either definition, and then it could be either. So, neither.

Unlike most of the nations in NS, Fatatatutti doesn't try to regulate every aspect of its citizens' lives. In fact, the governemt wields very little power at all, so there's little need to distribute it among different levels of government. Local problems are addressed by municipal governments and national problems are addressed by the national government.

We have a massive federal government that provides a broad array of services to the people and also respects the liberties of the people in terms of society as a whole.

Unitary... we have provinces, but they don't have much power: Most Swilatians don't even know which province they live in.

Unitary state led partly by one ruler with supreme power over major decisions given by an advisory board and partly by a pretoriate wich deals with maintenence.

Unitary right now, but I'm considering renaming and redrawing all the borders of my provinces to make Jeuna a federal state.

Unitary. Of course, since Britia is mostly made up of small Islands rocks in the middle of the Oceans. It doesnt really have a big population.

The Kiravian Empire is a Federacy. Not a Federation, not a Confederation, a Federacy. In a Federacy, the constituent states have varying degrees of self-governance under the Imperial government.

Technically there is no State anywhere in Kaprany in the first place, so it is neither unitary nor federal.

Unitary; laws passed by Congress effect all jurisdictions of the Kingdom. Individual states do not yield the freedom to make their own law.

Unitary, however there are talks of political reforms to move power downwards, but these are only rumors (ooc read: when I have time to RP a liberal/democratic movement within my government)

How could we have been iin the dark for so long! Urinalism is indeed the most enlightened form of government! We thank you deeply for bringing this powerful knowledge to our humble and backward race! From this day on, the Kiravian Empire shall loudly proclaim the ideology of Urinalism, especially the school of Urinalist thought that advocates the motion-detector flushing mechanism.

True, the female population would be disenfranchised, but t'is a small price to pay for the manifold benefits that this system will bring to the rest of society. As a great Urinocommunist once said, "From each according to his ability to pee standing up, to each according to his need to go."
