Billy frowns,"I guess," Billy tries to smile," we'll still be able to prove ourselves in the training room though."

It's hard to want to do anything but rip their throats out and go to town, you know?" I sigh, simultaneously tossing my hood to the ground. Stephen has a point. I don't have to like it, but he has a point. Then the doors open, and the carts in front roll out one by one. Then it's our turn.
"Time to shine." I mutter, putting on a fake smile and nudging Stephen in the shoulder simultaneously. Going from the pitch darkness of backstage to all this light in one go is… dizzying. Still keeping up the smile I pan my head around, almost forgetting the 'surprise'.
"On three. One. Two. Three." I mutter to Stephen, simultaneously pressing the button. Instantly a green glow surrounds us, some spilling over onto the ground, casting a shadow around our cart. This is… actually kind of awesome.

I smile as the glow emits. What a show! "Ready?" I say. "Lets show them what we at D5 can do." I look ahead of us. The four other districts in front of us have typical outfits - except for D1, outlandishly overdressed in old world robes of royalty, studded with what appears to at least be fake gems. I focus back to the matter at hand, and watch as the crowd waves us on. I raise my hand and smile a little bit, waving and saluting at people. It is then that I notice us on a big screen. We're glowing, yes, and it surrounds us as a sort of aura. More particularly though, our stylists also did something to the lights at the collar of our uniforms, so our heads are surrounded in a sort of halo, while also casting fierce shadows on our face. I smile a little bit harder at this - it seems our stylists with the "Angel of Death" choice were trying to be quite literal. "Look up at the screens," I nudge and whisper to Kyra. "Look at us."

"Holy shit." I respond, face stuck in a massive smile. One moment passes. Two. Wait, what was I doing? Right, Angel of Death.
"This I can go with." I laugh, the wide, fake smile quickly transforming into a genuine mischievous smirk: the kind that says 'I'm going to kill all of you and you will see none of it.' Still smiling I raise my arms in the air and clash them together so that they're forming an X, my hand bent outward; the hand symbol for D-5. At this the crowd goes wild, drinking the performance in. Maybe Stephen has a damned good point. A really damned good point.

As districts 12 ''float'' begins to move off Jordyn notices how many people are watching her. Jordyn blinded by the lights starts to feel light-headed and nearly falls. But before she does she grabs on to Billy's shoulder to prop herself up. Before she gets back to her own feet, she notices the crowd enjoys the ''unity'' of district 12. She then looks to Billy and grabs his hand and raises it.

I see Kyra's performance and end up doing the same. "Having fun yet?" I smile to her. Seeing on screen the D12 crowd, and their reaction, I whisper. "Shall we follow them with something similar?"

When Jordan grabbed Billy's hand he started to blush. It was all so much to take in at once. The lights, the cheering crowds.

"DISTRICT 12" he screamed, and the crowd screamed back at him. Billy started finally to feel like they might have a chance, and forgot about the fact that he would probably die soon for the first time since the reaping. He looked over at Jordyn, who seemed to be having an even greater time than Billy was. It was like the energy of the crowd was contagious. He couldn't help but start to laugh.

Frank smiled and waved at the massive crowd. His partner was forcing a smile and waving stiffly. He glanced at the screens and saw himself, his golden costume flashing. It wasn't the most flashy, but it did look pretty good, with the golden flakes flashing under the glare of the lights.

"What've you got in mind?" I ask, grinning madly as I pan around, still looking at the massive crowd. What is 12 doing anywa- oh. Would it really be so bad? A bit unfair, definitely, what with me dying and him hopefully going through this alive. I don't want to scar him, to make him feel guilt or grief or remorse when he stumbles upon my dead corpse. But at the same time I want... familiarity. Happiness. I want to have something nice and good and... pure to hold on to. If I'm going to die, it might as well be thinking of him. That's... natural, right? I mean, I'm fifteen and I've had no friendly relations at all. The closest I've head to one was a sterile, clod silence with my parents. Is this whole love thing really worth the pain, the trials, the doubt, the confusion, the sleepless nights? I don't know and yet... I want to give it a try.

I grab her hand and raise both of ours into the air. I let out a big smile and try to project my voice to the crowd. "We are the sons and daughters of District 5, unified, undivided!" As corny as it is, I like it, and perhaps the Capitol audience will eat it up. Who knows, maybe we'll even get a sponsor or two?
The crowd is going absolutely wild thanks to the parade. I'm slightly enjoying it, really, for various reasons. I look at Kyra and find her smiling too, for which I am happy, when reality hits hard. She spent most, if not all, of her life in the horrible hellhole, known as Foundry 4. Who knows how many times she's actually felt this happy? And unfortunately, this is the Hunger Games - 23 of us are about to die in a few days! I feel my spirits begin to drop when I think of something. She may not like it, but it becomes engraved into my mind. I start to think of a way to get Kyra home, even at the expense of my own life. Maybe then, as a victor, she can finally enjoy her life, and possibly even act as a sort of activist for the workers in the foundries and power stations. She deserves a chance at a better life.

"Corny as hell." I smile, gently nudging Stephen. Okay. Parade's about over. About time; that has been fun, but I feel mildly exposed surrounded by a couple million people. It's not right. Nothing about this place is right.

I let out a little laugh. "Corny as hell indeed! Lets hope they like corn over here." I watch as we gradually approach President Snow's mansion, where the final proceedings of the parade take place, namely the anthem and his speech. As fun as it was, this is all evil. Who or what are we kidding? The Games are just a form of mass executions for the sake of fun, while the parades, interviews, etc. are just a final humiliation for the unlucky souls who's odds fell short of being in their favor. All I can hope right now is to die with dignity and for a purpose. I can feel my smile transforming into a face of cold, hard indiference as the parade winds down, amplified by the shadows the light casts over my face.

"I doubt they know what corn is." I agree, finally letting the smile drop from my face. Fucking genocidal as hell perverted backwards retarded fascist aristocratic detached pieces of shit. Do I really have to play ball with them? Do we? Do any of us? What if there was… I dunno… revolution or something. Something to fix this horribly broken system; it's like a reactor with a broken coolant system. Massive power boosts in the short term, but in the long? That thing's blowing up, big time.

I say nothing. I just stand perfectly still and at attention while the anthem plays and the President reads his speech, while resisting the urge to swear out loud. This was awful - while the energy of the crowd lent a deceptively cheerful air to everyone, the anthem with the President's speech shares no happyness. In fact, I vaguely wonder if this is what those that "disappear" experience before they are killed off? All crap, really. Finally, as he finishes, our carraiges prepare to make one last circle around his mansion, before going back inside. I raise both of our hands into the air one last time - albeit without any encouraging shouts or great big smiles - and drop it.

Not long after the parades had finally ended and the Tributes had shown off, al were directed back to their respective rooms.

The next day Tributes were to head to the training room where tributes are given knives, swords, bows, and spears to practice with along with various silver practice dummies.

Each escort and mentor of the tributes have warned them about NOT attacking anyone.

Tributes are free to train as long as they'd like before later being called to perform for the sponsors.

John headed toward the snare section. He knew how to get his own food in the wild unlike most other careers. after learning some new techniques he headed for a trident on the wall he picked it up and launched it into a dummy's throat, and laughed.
