The Aeswythian Faith in your nation

Postby Caneria » Tue Apr 23, 2013 2:59 am

The Aeswythian faith dates back to around 500 B.C. The faith is based on two main beings; God, and the Souls.

HISTORY

The Aeswythian faith has been founded in 213 (around 500 BC) by the Canerian theologist and philosophist John McRary, it is a form of monotheïstic, non-abrahamistic faith, and it is a form of panentheism. John McRary concluded that God is an initiator of certain happenings. This is, but not limited to, the beginning of life and the beginning of the universe. God is not perfect in the sense that he also can make discalculations, hence explaining stillborns.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOD AND SOULS

God: the initiator of certain happenings, such as life and the beginning of all times (the creation of the universe). Is present in all forms and shapes life to a certain extend. He is can only start things, but he cannot determine how events will happen. God is more a law then a diety.

Souls: the remainments of the past livings, according to Aeswythian doctrines, a once started energy by God cannot be ended, since his energy is unlimited and can't be exhausted. There is no good and evil in 'Aeswyth' (the gardens of the dead). Aeswyth is parallel to the universe, hence explaining that the universe grows, and ensures there are enough farms for anyone (farms are the symbols of life, hope and fertility in the Canerian culture).

God and the souls are two complete seperate beings

ALTARS AND HERARCHY

Contrary to most religions, the head of the faith is a woman, since Aeswythian people believe that women are blessed with a part of God's role as initiator (pregnancy), the leader of the faith is called the Queen of Aeswyth. However, the role is purely symbolic, and there are no priests. Shrines are however in the Aeswythian faith to promote inner peace and unity with God and the souls. Celibacy is not a requirement for becoming a Queen of Aeswyth.

Most homes have an altar for having a blessed energy pulse, the altar is in a remote section of the home, and must contain the following things;

-A scale (symbolising God and the Souls, and promotes justice)
-Two cups with incense (for meditational purposes)
-A cup of milk, to be changed every day (for the spirits visiting the home)
-A portrait of the current Queen of Aeswyth (for the spirits to know this is an Aeswythian household)

How many Aeswythian people are there in your country?: Before Z-day, we estimated there to be around 100; it is impossible to tell if any survived or not at this time

How does the goverment treat Aeswythian believers?: The same as everyone else

Are there any clashes between Aeswythian believers and other religious groups?: No; in fact they got along rather well as far as anyone knows and many respectful debates were had in the one community where they were known to have a presence

How many shrines are there in your country?: There was only one that we know of

1. It is not known how many people of this faith are in Gaveria as the Federal government doesn't recognize this cult as a religion. 2. The Federal government is indifferent to the plight and triumphs of this faith, as such they are generally left to their own devices, officially. 3. Officially the government doesn't tolerate any religious conflict or descrimination at any level so officially the answer is no. Unofficially, the Protestant majority in Gaveria isn't known for being very tolerate to other religions and especially not towards those faiths not descended from the abrahamic line. It wouldn't be out of line to believe some of the rumors of mobs hunting down those not of the Christian faith and dragging them out of their homes and burning them at the stake. 4. No more than a few dozen at most

How many Aeswythian people are there in your country? Very few, as all religions are outlawed except Atheism, but some practice in secret.
How does the goverment treat Aeswythian believers? It executes them.
Are there any clashes between Aeswythian believers and other religious groups? No, seeing as there are no other RELIGIONS. Atheists clash frequently with them, however, and the government, as stated above.
How many shrines are there in your country? Unknown, very few.
Atheism is my religion, don't get mad.

How many shrines are there in your country? We are currently studying the standard layout of a shrine and hope to construct a few for aesthetic purposes.

Currently, there are none that our government knows of, there WAS a clash in the earlier part of the year when The Western People's Culture (Similar to the culture of ancient Israel, very devout and allow only Judio-Christian based faiths to pertain) fought to expel them. The Western Culture has always had a dominant standing in the government thus resulting in complete religious stance in the government. No shrines exist anymore, as all were burned.

How many Aeswythian people are there in your country? 250-350
How does the goverment treat Aeswythian believers? Officially-Like everyone else, Unofficially-Horribly
Are there any clashes between Aeswythian believers and other religious groups?-Yes. A former Aeswythian who converted to Potlimitomaha's main religion of Potfet spread a rumor. The rumor was that Aeswethians were plotting against the followers of Potfet. Despite early protection efforts by the government, numorous "convert or die" attacks have shrunk the once 13,000 strong movement to only a few hundred in hiding. Officially there are 0 Aeswethians in the country
How many shrines are there in your country? -None.

How many Aeswythian people are there in your country?
According to the 2013 Census, there are 34 Aeswythians in Pavonistade

How does the goverment treat Aeswythian believers?
The Pavonistadian Government treats an Aeswythian just like other religious believers and people. All people are equal and have the right to practice any religion they want

Are there any clashes between Aeswythian believers and other religious groups?
The good thing is that there isn't. The extremely low amount of Aeswythians meant that there are no clashes between religious groups. As well, any clashes would be suppressed by the police for the safety of all civilians

How many shrines are there in your country?
There is one, called the Pavonistadian Aeswythian Shrine
