So, are there local menus in mega fast food chain anywhere else?

The only time I can remember being surprised at a local variation at MacDonald's in the US was many years ago in New England when I found mustard on a hamburger. Down around New York City where I grew up we didn't do such things. I'm sure there are other regional variations.

How is the food at KFC Thailand?

Is this IC or OOC?

ICly Radiatia has this.

OOCly there are things like the Kiwiburger at McDonalds.

Which reminds me of something which really annoyed me - why do McDonald's in New Zealand have a "Tastes of America" going, as if the USA is some exotic country who's food differs greatly to regular McDonald's. It makes no sense to me. McDonald's is the quintessential American food.

Same as everywhere else. By the way, is KFC offer 2 varieties of fried chicken elsewhere? In Thailand they would ask do you want hot and spicy or original.

MacDonald's has made significant changes to its Indian menus.

For fairly obvious reasons, it has never tried serving beef burgers in a Hindu-majority country, and pork products are similarly out given the large (numerically) Muslim minority.

After its Indian lamb burgers were unsuccessful, it tried moving to chicken burgers.

Towards the end of last year, it started opening purely vegetarian Indian outlets, starting with an outlet near the Sikh Golden Temple in Amritsar (from which meat is banned).

This isn't a big stretch since about half of MacDonald's Indian sales are vegetarian to begin with, including the popular potato-based McAloo Tikki Burger and the McSpicy Paneer.

There was an Aberdeen Angus meat burger at McDonald's here, but I never tasted it. Haven't been to McDonald's in a long time.

Now we have a local fast food chain trying to spite them.

In essence it's no different than any other food chain that isn't McDonald's.

Living in the US, I don't really get anything special.
There was one time a KFC in my town started serving "guacamole". Whoever ate it got sick, and within a week the place was condemned.

As Radiatia mentioned, yeah. However, I've never tried a Kiwiburger, they must have eggs in or something.

I do miss the McChicken Royale though, those things were good.

Here we have a local fast-food chain (Spizzico) specialized in pizza, so I guess that counts.
And McD sometimes tries to offer some hamburgers with some "local" taste like parmigiano, artichoke paste or grilled aubergines... but really, this has nothing to do with local food.

And in Germany, there's Nordsee - all about fish and seafood.

I think the hot and spicy and original is everywhere now.
Anyway, here we have kosher mcdonalds (no cheeseburgers and no bacon), but not every mcdonalds is kosher. Also, the only place I can get kfc without having to get a stamp in my passport is in Ramallah (they tried kfc in Israel, but it failed. Palestinians will queue up for hours though apparently). It's like a "casual date night" place.

I haven't been to a fast food restaurant in a long time, so I can't say.

But I'm sure they have Russianized food at the local McDonalds.

No, it's not New England that does mayo on burgers, it's the south. I live here, I never saw mayo on a hamburger until I lived in Florida and there are places where I have to ask them "Don't put mayo on my cheeseburger" if I order one.

No, I don't think so. Not that there are fast-food chains anywhere where I live though. But I know that McDonald's (or at least so they say in their commercials) use meat from Norwegian cattle.

I remember a fast food place (I think it was Burger King rather than McDonalds) in Philly that did that, too. Some do here, but it's a tossup whether they do or not. In my observation, McDonalds in areas with a higher black customer base tend to have mayo more than others - but to back to your southern thing, that could be because a lot are either southern transplants or descendants of southern migrants who came north. Probably the same reason the best bbq places tend to be in black neighborhoods (up here, at least, not sure about the south).
