Balance the USA Budget

Postby Zaplo » Sun Mar 31, 2013 2:10 pm

Go to http://wh.gov/6FGy and sign the petition to balance the USA Federal budget.

Here's a copy of the petition
On behalf of the citizens of the United States of America I hereby petition the Obama Administration to balance the Federal Budget. We find it unacceptable that our government continues to spend our money to the point where we owe over 16 trillion dollars and by signing this petition we agree that a key component of reducing the national deficit is to balance the budget. In conclusion we wish for a balanced budget. Please sign this petition to balance the Federal Budget.

Why would you ask the White House, which has no power over the budget, to balance the budget? This isn't productive, this is a waste of bandwidth.

The petition makes it seem as if it were solely the current administration's fault, which is just not the case.

Why not directly go to Congress?

As if the White House isn't already pressuring Congress to balance the budget? This is an absolutely silly petition.

I'm so glad online petitions to the Houses of Parliament/the White House etc. exist.

About as relevant or practical as the catgirls petition.

They don't have a website like this where it's easy to make petitions. Also I'm lazy. :)

The President can propose a budget, sure, but Congress actually approves, or even creates, the budget. Obama can't get anything done with Congress.

You do realize the President is supposed to write and propose a budget to congress, who then approve or disapprove it. Otherwise everything gets a small increase. Sadly the president's budget has be UNANIMOUSLY rejected.

I am also interested in hearing Obama say what he's doing to help balance the budget.

He's creating death panels so his communist Obamacare system makes any financial sense.

If Obama and co. spent all day telling the public what they were doing, nothing would actually get done.

Why not directly go to Congress?

That raises a question, if you had to sign this petition or death star construction one, which one would you go for?
