No they wouldn't, if anything those programs keep them from reaching the top, if you can get a job just because you are black why should you work harder?

Not our fault many African-Americans cannot be bothered to work hard in school and get into university.

Given the poor state of schools for many blacks, is this really surprising? How could they get into university when their schools are underfunded and underresourced?

Still there are many minorities from terrible schools who are successful, look at Thomas Sowell, and Sonya Sotamayor, they went to crappy "ghetto" schools yet they are wealthy, well known people.

This 'racism' doesn't seem to have stopped Asian-Americans who are significantly overrepresented in universities.

Irish indentured workers were less valuable than negro slaves. Slaves cost money. Wouldn't send them on dangerous swamp-clearing jobs.
