The Pentagram Bloc: Joint Defense Initiative (Still A Draft)
Article I: Freedom of Movement-All members of the Pentagram Bloc (henceforth referred to in this document by the abbreviation PB) agree to allow freedom of movement through their respective territories, airspace, space, etc. to other members of the PB for the purpose of joint defense of PB members, and for rapid response to threats; both foreign and domestic. Appropriate IFF and/or the equivalent thereof shall be made available to PB members by PB members using this freedom of movement prior to entering another members territories, and any reasonable aid will be given by members of the PB to assets moving through their territories for the express purpose of the defense of other members of the PB.
Article I of the JDI is intended to come into effect only during times of crisis or war when rapid movement of allied forces is necessary in order to aid or reinforce allied powers who are also part of the Pentagram Bloc. This article will not be in effect at any other time unless members have agreed beforehand that this be the case.
Article II: Freedom of Information-Members of the PB agree to make available all pertinent information attained by their myriad intelligence assets (spies, radar, magic spells, sensors, space telescopes, etc.). This information shall be sent in as secure and rapid a manner as possible to the member(s) concerned so that the most use can be attained from it. This article does not require PB members to reveal the source(s) of the information they are providing.
Article II, like Article I is intended for wartime use only. At no other time will members of the Pentagram Bloc be required to follow the requirements of Article II. As mentioned, Bloc members are not required to reveal the source(s) of this information, and are free to take all reasonable measures to ensure that their source(s) remain uncompromised. This sharing of intelligence is mandatory only for matters of relevance to the Pentagram Bloc and its member nations during times of crisis.
Article III: Cooperation-Members of the PB, in order to improve upon the effectiveness of their rapid reaction forces shall institute the following two measures:
-One: Members will make provisions for including members of the military forces of their allies within their training institutions/academies. This shall be done in two ways. 1 - Military instructors from member nations will; upon a rotational basis, perform guest lectures at allied institutions for the purpose of familiarizing allied personnel with the strategies, tactics, and methodology of their forces. 2 - Allied officers are to be made available for an exchange program amongst allied institutions; not only for learning purposes, but also to begin forming working relationships with their allies whom they may be tasked to fight beside in the future.
-Two: Members shall institute a series of joint training exercises amongst their forces - to be performed a minimum of once a year (or the equivalent thereof) by all member nations. These exercises shall encompass different military scenarios - starting with squad level combat situations, and will gradually increase in size, intensity, and complexity up to and including mock fleet engagements, planetary assaults, and other large-scale combat situations.
Article IV: Provision for Joint Assets-Members of the PB will allocate military assets at an appropriate level to their capabilities to form a rapid response task force (the JDI). These forces will then be combined to form a reactionary force to counter threats to the PB member nations, and shall be tasked with forming the first line of defense until other allied forces can be made ready and available to meet the threat. All allied members will be required to supply units to this force; the make-up and number of assets supplied will depend not only upon technological level, but also upon overall military size, and also upon asset availability. Supplied units will be made available on a rotational basis with a term of service to be set by the nation providing the assets. When one term ends, the next unit in the rotation will be rotated in; in this way, units will gain experience working together with allies, and personnel and equipment will still be able to be rotated out for leave and for general maintenance.

1. More changes... This should cover for the concerns that have been raised by several Bloc members... I think.
2. As for a quorum... I honestly have no idea. This is actually the first time I've had to deal with something like this in all of my time on Nationstates... Sad isn't it.
3. Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions? Inquiring minds want to know...

Though Nyte is a very different nation than it was when it joined. TBH, I'd forgotten all about this, and with how things are going ICly, Nyte probably doesn't fit in here at all anymore... Though I guess it depends on your opinions on daemons, eldritch horrors, and war crimes...

IRL, pretty bad. My health is pretty much failing, and my job is really only making it worse.
As for NS, well... I'm slowly redoing Nyte into the monster it's to become. It's going slowly though because I keep seesawing back and forth on things.
How about you?
