[Black Marshes]

For centuries the Galaxy has been ruled by the Galactic Senate. The Galactic Senate is made up of a group of senators from every race, and is headed by the Chancellor, and its headquarters is on the Citadel. The Senate is entirely diplomatic, making all its decisions through votes. However, many are beginning to speak out against the Chancellor, and there may be Galactic War. You are the leader of your race, you control everything that happens inside your nation, lead your people through these difficult times.
Rules:
1.No godmoding.
2.No steamrolling other races.
3. No overpowered unions like the Covenent from Halo (you will have to choose one of the factions within the Covenent), but Unions like the CIS from Star Wars will be allowed as they are hopelessly weak separated. (I will tell you if your choice is overpowered)
4. No mega-destroyers like the Reapers from Mass Effect.
5. Your race may only start with 1 star system, if you want an empire you will have to make it.

The Republic musters its ships and armies, and begins to secure the star systems around the galactic core.
Meanwhile, the Republic begins the construction of more ships to be added to the fleet.

The Helghast board as many as they can onto their small fleet, whilst more ships are constructed.
100 million Helghast troops are shipped to Vekta, Gyre and Sorin, and their ships return to Helghan to collect more. Each Helghast planet was now defended by 200 million fully-trained Helghast soldiers, with the exception of Helghan which would be left with 400 million. The rest, along with the fleets, moved away from the home system and colonised more planets.

The Korvax system prepared for war. Everywhere, guardsmen were handed their guns and body armor, and got shipped towards the fleet, oribiting the planets. On the Forge World, hundreds of labourers worked day and night to expand both the fleet and create more weapons and armor for the military. It was time for war.

On the Tomb World of Mandragoras, orders were relayed again and again. They came directly from the ruler of the Sautekh Dynasty himself, Imotekh the Stormlord. The Necrons would send out fleets to scour the surrounding solar systems with mechanical efficiency, for signs of life to exterminate. They would also search for tomb-worlds to reawaken, and add to the list of those under control of Imotekh's Dynasty.

"And thus i believe that it is not only in the Federation's best interest, but in all of humanities, that we continue our current colonization policy. It is our 'Manifest Destiny' that we spread out to the farthest reaches of the stars, and unite all of mankind under the banner of the Federation!"

The President had been speaking for several minutes, stating the continuation of the Federation's controversial 'Humanity First' policy. All of the 500 representatives from the Federation rose up from their seats and cheered in support of the President's speech.

"Basically a declaration of war on the xeno-species right?" Congressman Hevon whispered to the Congressman next to him, while he applauded. "Boils down to that." Hevon received as an answer. "And on most humans as well." the Congressman, whom was named Maeren, then added.

The applause from the Congress slowly diminished in sound after a minute of continuous cheering. Everyone sat down again, and the President continued speaking.

"Honorable Senators, i hereby formally announce that the Federation will be continuing our 'Humanity First' policy! We will not cease our colonization efforts simply because others demand it. The Federation is a sovereign body and we have the right to expand as we wish!" Senator Francis Jorin shouted loudly in the Galactic Senate. Few people knew what the 'Humanity First' policy exactly entailed, but it was a common known fact that it advocated the aggressive expansion of the human race.







And deep within the Federation, fleets where already prepared, slowly moving towards the nearest solar system....

Far from the center of the Galaxy, away from the commotion and hustle of the Senate and the Republic, lay a small star system called Kadaz. A fiery orange ball of light against the black void of space and the blood red of a nearby Nebula known as the Sultans Ire. Five Planets orbited the Star, One was a Large Gas Giant called Hasek, unsuitable for human life, the other was a frozen ball of Ice too far from the Sun to support life, Kadaz III. The Other three however were not. Located in the habitable zone sat three planets, Kadaz Prime, II and IV. These Three Planets formed the Heart of the Kadaz Concord, an isolated human faction that had long fled from earth centuries ago as war gripped their home system, eventually settling here in solitude.

Prime and Kadaz II were verdant grass worlds, covered in immense plains and valleys, think forests dotted it surface and solitary peaks loomed high into the sky and the few seas and lakes contained clear blue water, abundant with life. Immense and sprawling cities covered their surface, containing tens of millions of people, a total of 19 billion people lived on these two worlds, knowing peace and safety, enjoying life on planets not unlike their original home, just as beautiful. Kadaz IV was not so beautiful, or safe, nor did its people enjoy such life. For Kadaz iv was a world with one focus, War.

On this bleak red world lay mass factories, production yards and construction facilities. From between its mountain ranges and rocky passes, immense columns of smoke could be seen from miles around, the roaring sounds of machinery and human workers echoed throughout the red wastes. Rich in minerals and building materials the world was ideal for human industry, after settling on the other worlds for life, they descended upon this world for sustenance. The fuels to feed their civilization lay here, and they would not leave then unused.

In a dark and gloomy passageway, Four men walked through the darkness, illuminated by the red and orange lights spaced throughout the corridor that lit up for a few brief seconds. At the front walked a short slightly overweight man, a pair of glasses sat upon his nose and his bald head shone with orange light form the side panels. He clutched in his hand a data pad, illuminating his feet as he walked beside his companion down the dark corridor. In the dark his companion was near unrecognizable, the only features that could be made out were that of his trench coat and heavy metal boots, and Upon his head a black and grey peak cap. The other two of their party wore grey and black armoured suits and encased helmets, clutched in their hands were high powered energy rifles. Only two things marked their appearance in the hallway, the heavy thuds of their combat boots, and the eery glow of their blue visors.

"Professor, why have you called me out here, i thought the procedure was going forward as schedule, this is using up time i could use for other matters." Remarked the man behind the lab-coated scientist.
"It is, we have just encountered a few.... problems, as it were sir" The man replied nervously.
"What problems, you informed me you have every thing ready, that it would be complete in a matter of months" The man said as he placed his hand on the scientists shoulder, the shorter man grew even more nervous but he mustered enough strength to speak.
"I may... have been a bit misleading with my results sir, the engines, cant function, we dont have the right tools to repair the power sources, and none of our current generation energy cores will operate in their place, the heavy cannons need replacements for several of their firing mechanisms and we need to to find more couplings for the communications array. I invited you down here to ask for assistance in this matter."
"This project has fallen behind and you have went below my expectations, your predecessor failed me in this regard, i trusted you to get it done. What assistance do you require, we need to get this vessel up and running, if the reports from the Northern Sectors are true, we must be ready to deal with them"

He released his grip on the mans shoulder and let him go, the scientist regained his composure and handed his data slate to his companion. "I have identified several replacements that we could use, and some people who may be able to help us procure them. This data slate details where we could find suitable replacements, i was wondering if you would be willing to send out some vessels to acquire them, it will help with the project considerably."

The dark figure pondered over the slate for a few moments before looking back to him. "Very well, i will dispatch several vessels to the designated areas, pray that your information is correct, as some of these areas of space are very dangerous, and if i lose men and ships because of false information. You understand what will happen."
"Yes sir, Lord Commander"

And with that final note, the figure handed him back the slate and walked down the corridor flanked by his armed guards leaving the scientist in the corridor on his own.

The Commander and his guards exited the administration section of the shipyard and arrived on a small landing platform where his personal flyer sat ready with armed guards. As he approached he signaled forward one of the soldiers.

"Lieutenant Goran, Inform Command that i want seven of our fastest vessels crewed and ready to leave for a mission of vital importance, we have a ship to repair, and damn it i will not have anymore delays.
"Yes sir, Lord Commander"

He preceded up the ramp and into the craft, slowly his guards left their positions and followed him inside. The craft took off from the pad and shot upwards into the sky across the foundries of the Military Sector accompanied by a pair of gunships who had been waiting nearby.

In the dwarf planet of Dragoria news of war were spreading.Races got fed up by the Senate and wished to destroy it.Dragorians were only to be found in 1 small planet and 4 even smaller moons.However,Dragorians live up to 200 years average and fears of overpopulation made them join the Senate in order to colonize new lands.However not a single planet was colonized yet and the Dragorian populace demanded a change.

Now,Dragoria had to choose a side.Remain neutral and watch as the world burns or take place and win 1 or 2 much needed planets.

Starbase 14, near the Federation border

As the militant races of the galaxy prepare for war, the United Federation of Planets becomes ever weary, aware of the tension building up across the galaxy. Starbase 14 had not been this crowded in years. Starfleet Command had elcected to mobilize the fleet due to increasing war-weariness, as a precautionary measure. In the mean time, the Federation council had sent out diplomatic messages to the other races in the galaxy, seeking allies to share resources and work together in these difficult time.

Captain Max Keern stared into space, deep in thought, from his ready room aboard the USS Intrepid. Their mission would be simple. The Intrepid, along with a dozen other vessels would continue to explore space, looking for new worlds to colonize and explore. Despite the growing tensions across the stars, Starfleet's main mission, to seek out new life and new civilizations, would not be tossed aside. The Triari system had an M-class planet, was unexplored, and would be the first system to be surveyed this voyage. The chances of running into one of the other expanding factions there were slim, but nevertheless, the thought remained in the back of Keern's mind.

The voice of Commander Martha Sari interrupted his thoughts, "Bridge to the Captain, we are ready to depart."

Keern sighed lightly, "On my way." The captian strode onto the bridge and took his seat, "Helm, set a course for the Triari system, warp 8. Engage."

The Intrepid's warp pylons pivoted in preparation for faster-than-light travel. As the ship engaged it's warp engines it disappeared into the cosmos with a flash of light.

The replicators had just consumed the entire planet. Not a single trace of any resource was left. It was a desolate, dead world. For the replicators it had no resources no longer and thus set out for the closest planet to find new resources and replicate even further. They formed a ship with the blocks and set out to the closest planet.

"So let's proceed to the next proposal, coming from Tedaria", Chancellor Percidius said and looked at the members of the High Council. "Its classification is very important, so I have called the Emperor to attend this meeting. Please stand up for his imperial majesty: Emperor Maximus!" As the Emperor entered the 12 High Council members and Chancellor Percidius clapped. Maximus didn't attend meetings of the Council that often, to be honest he wasn't interested in the meetings at all, new military presentations were far more interesting.

"Now that we all are ready.... The Imperial Region of Taradia wishes to be able to build up its own military to be more able to defend itself against piracy. Thirty million soldiers shall be recruited for them in 4 years. Any comments?", the Chancellor asked with a neutral sound of his voice."Declined", Emperor Maximus decided without even waiting for the voting procedure. The Chancellor was a bit shocked, but continued as planned. "Well, this proposal is hereby declined and closed. Taradia will still be under protection of the Imperial army. If you feel unprotected I propose to ask the Council for more soldiers"; he said while looking at Taradias delegates.

'Dangit, why does the Devourer of Worlds devour a crapton of energy.' colonel Falkhorst said, standing on the ship's bridge.
'Any known planets known or rumoured to have a plasma core lying there, we need one of those extra to get the weapon systems online.'
'Sir' one of the men said, and a giant holographic map of the universe appeared, with their position marked. 'Planet A2435 has one confirmed, onboard of a crashed ship. Low gravity, no lifeforms on it.'
'WEll head there..'

The planets were bickering. Again. This time over how we should expand, and mainly concerning the new "prospect planet."

Governor Isewalt of Na'a suggested that it should be a research planet-And he would govern it.
Governor Nikki suggested that SHE govern it, and it would be used a a farming colony, but the other governors pointed out that it does not have nearly as many moons as the other planets, which would leave it highly vulnerable.
Governor Ashi of the two most inner planets and main military planets next to Graknopia-Gruna and Ashari, suggested, that since she has the most military might, she govern it and it would be setup as a forward military base.

The 10 Council members of Graknopia voted for the following:
Farming Colony- 0 Votes
President Geono Ukkana takes it in- 2 Votes
It be setup as a forward military base (New governor)- 3 Votes
Governor Ashi takes control and sets up the new military base- 3 Votes

Overlord Naszar

Overlord Naszar had been a vassal of Imotekh for countless millennia, and was one of his most competent commanders. Currently, he commanded one of the fleets sent to search for dormant tomb-worlds or signs of life belonging to living creatures. From the ominously silent command deck, the Necron Overlord watched as other dark, sleek and inherently alien ships, including Scythe Class Harvest ships, Shroud Class Light Cruisers, smaller Dirge Class Raiders, Jackal Class Raiders, along with the small shapes of squadrons of Doom Scythes, and Night Scythes, moved alongside his command ship. With the extreme speed that Necron ships could move with, often faster than light if necessary, time could never be considered an issue. Besides, a race of undead living metal creatures generally had no shortage when it came to patience.

Soon enough, when the fleet reached a solar system they had been travelling to, one which went by the of Triari, the dark, sinsister ships drew to a halt, and as ever, they presented an alien precision and efficiency as they did so.

Nearby, a metallic voice rasped. "Great Lord, this solar system is not devoid of life." Naszar turned to the nearby Cryptek, whose name was Akhterkankh, and had been one of Naszar's most trusted advisors since time immemorial. Nazar's eyes cast a dark green glow on the sensory data even as it flickered into view. This expedition may prove to be one of interest, after all. Especially with the readings that told him of at least one ship belonging to a living race in another part of this solar system.

"Captain we are nearing the Triari system."

Captain Keern stood up from his chair, "Bring us out of warp near the M-class planet. Ensign Johnson, anything on sensors?"

"Nothing yet sir, only the planets and a small comet passing through the system. The planet looks promising."

"Very good ensign."

"We're dropping out of warp Captain."

The Intrepid reemerged into normal subspace within view of the planet, but the planet was not the only object that filled the view screen. Several small black spots seemed to be hovering around the planet."

"What the hell is that?" asked the captiain, incredulous. "Magnify."

"Captain, I dont know why we didn't see them on sensors before, but those are ships."

The Captain returned to his chair and turned to Commander Sari, "Damnit I was afraid of this. Red Alert, shields up! Hail them leiutenant."

"Hailing frequencies open sir."

"This is Captain Keern of the Federation starship Intrepid, please identify yourselves."

15 Hours later

In Orbit of Kadaz Prime

Reports, Reports, Reports. The same thought passed through Laurence Calagan's mind over and over again. Maintenance reports, Battery reports, Hanger reports, Bridge reports and many others. He stood by the communications console on the bridge, at the center of it all, at the center of his ship, a cruiser by the name of Gadacar. His crew hurried around, working on their consoles, going back and forth from sections of the deck. He perched His glasses on top of his nose as he gazed over a report from the Security control commander, detailing the new weapons deposited on the ship. He finished reading through the report before tucking the report under his arm. he moved over to his second in command, a man by the name of Frederick Sadov.

"Tell me my friend, is the ship ready for departure?"
"Yes Captain, all crew is accounted for and the Ship is ready for departure, the rest of the vessels have already departed for their respective targets. We are ready to leave at your command"
"Good, Good, Helmsmen, take us out and commence jump on my command"
"Aye captain, taking us out now" Came a call from the front of the bridge.

Slowly the engines primed and burned a bright red as the ship slowly left the confines of anchor near the station, the few remaining fighters in station outside docked with the craft as it pushed ahead full speed.The Gadacar as all Kadaz light cruisers, was relatively small in comparison to other major ships in the Navy, at least half the size of a standard cruiser, possessing a crew of just over 1000. It possessed two large engines at the rear and four smaller engines tucked in beside them. Two large wings flanked its central hull, both wings while normally extended slotted in along the sides as the ship prepared for jump. The cannons and missile pods as well as the armour plates locked in place to avoid damage and the hanger sealed shut as the last fighter docked inside. Its dark grey and orange hull was illuminate by gentle blue and red lights.

Calagan seated himself at his chair in the center of the bridge and prepared for departure. "Are we ready to Jump?"
"Aye Aye Captain, Jump engine ready, full capacity"
"Very Well, Jump"
"Plotting course to the Fringe Sector near republic space, and Jump"

The Ship froze in space for a second before a ripple of bright orange energy engulfed the vessel and it shot forward into the night leaving the system.

[Liberated Counties]

Meanwhile on T'au, the Ethereal Council has decided to expand to other worlds in order to fuel the growth of the empire, as well as contact the closest inhabited planet, Pech, it is unknown what species the Tau will find on Pech, yet primitive radio signals emit from that planet, suggesting intelligent life.

In regards of the new expansion effort. Hundreds of planets, all ideal for colonization, have been found by probes, however one stood out from the rest, the planet, named Tau'n by the scientists whom discovered it, gained the Ethereal's attention, and the 1st exploration flotilla, the first of many planned exploration fleets, were dispatched with all necessary survey equipment, to look at the planet closer. on the way, elements of the fleet are expected to detach, and explore many other, less significant astroid fields and planets, and analyse further if the planets are worth a visit from the planned future exploration fleets, this is currently being overseen by Air and Fire caste logistical planners.

In the Fire Caste academies, millions upon millions of warriors are undertaking their first ever Trail by Fire, and fresh new waves of veteran warriors are expected to come forth and defend the expansion of the Tau empire, Whilst the Water Caste have gone forward, to establish new relations with the other empires, and the Earth Caste have begun producing all the weapons, war machines, and ships crucial to the expansion, with the Air Caste have provided experienced crews to pilot the ever-growing Tau Navy.
