NationStates doesn't ask you for any personal information on signup, but it's a public forum that non-members can read and any personal information you share on it is at your discretion.

NS is as safe as you want it to be.

Totally safe. You can choose how much info you give, you can choose what you do, and it's a trusted website.

It even has good hacker protection.

The only time this site isn't safe is when it scares you with its April Fools' jokes.
They do that every year. Last year, everyone's account got ''hacked'' (not really) and everybody got scared. So watch out.

ask moderation about reading serious moderation candidates TGs without telling them about it until afterwards and/or apparently refusing to confirm/deny the exact timeline of TG reading ~~~ i hope you never sent any of the recent mods or the ones that got really close anything personal!

signature edit: confirmation has been received. they will explicitly do it before and without asking. they can look at TGs basically whenever they want so please keep this in mind when nominating people for moderator or TGing good posters/anyone!

Because foeing a nation causes you to not see that nation's posts and you have to be able to see Mods' posts.

If you are haing a problem with a Mod, there are avenues to rectify that.

NS is all about free speech. You're not banned as long as you don't argue, say stupid things, spam, make your sig 78 pages long, or make posts like the one you just made.

One time a mod found out where I lived and shot my dog. What did I do wrong? I said Jennifer Government was pretty good. But in all seriousness, NS is fairly safe. It can be frustrating as hell, but it's pretty safe.
