I would guess Imperial Stormtroopers, merely because their armour is (if memory serves) very effective defending against physical ballistics, which are the entirety of what Brutes wield.

However. The brutes do appear on a similar level to the Wookies in many aspects, who are noted for having torn apart groups of imperial stormtroopers apart.

So in terms of fiction magic, probably the brutes. In terms of actual ability, stormtroopers.

Very weird, Covenant Plasma is possibly more dangerous, so a Brute Plasma Rifle would be very deadly. I am inclined to say I doubt the Storm Troopers will be able to survive the overall Brute attack, but the Storm Troopers still have a good chance of winning since the Jiralhanae are fucking retarded.

Also change the Halo 3 Brute, to just Brute, or their proper name of Jiralhanae.

Space is debatable, Covenant ships usually fire high megatons to low to multi gigatons, but if I recall correctly, most star wars ships fire low to high gigatons.

Now if you said if the Covenant used their ships to full potential, then yes they would shit all over the Empires fleet, but they are to inept to alter their own technology to become Forerunner lite.

I don't think you quite understand how Slipspace works.

Anyways I wouldn't say significantly, by default the Covenant are in the high megaton to mid gigaton range in power and defense.

God forbid if they actually decided to take their technology to it's full power.

Spacebattles officially puts the Covenant to every aspect of the megaton range, and low to sometimes mid gigatons, and star wars at gigatons, if the Covenant were competent with their tech, they could move their power in both shields and weapons to a much larger degree, thus making them a forerunner lite (hypothetically.)

Now my Spacebattles knowledge might be off because there have been more ME vs Halo threads lately but hey, what are you going to do?

And they would lose a lot in the process, while at the same time the Empire would be like "Meh." A single ship hitting it wouldn't be enough to kill the Death Star. It would take an entire fleet. The Empire can replace ships and men WAY more easily then the Covenant. And as I said before, Empire ships outclass Covenant by a long shot, as do their ground troops.

In a 5,000 on 5,000 battle the average casualty for elites are around 250.
Stormtroopers: 4,980.

They would cut down more stormtroopers faster than Vader could replace them. But in terms of areial combat though, Star Wars. The Banshee and Vampire are freaking weak amd Phantoms can't win on their own.

SW ground weapons are typically blaster rifles, which fire bursts of particle beam energy that usually kills a person (exceptions made for certain species like Wookies or plot important characters). They have a high fire rate and don't require much reloading, as some blaster models can fire hundreds of shots on a single magazine. The stormtroopers use a E-11 model, which can fire 500 shots.

Armor wise, stormtrooper armor provides rather good protection (blasters are simply really strong) and would probably need a direct hit from Covenant plasma weapon in order to score a kill.

Training and tactics wise, stormtroopers are crack shots and actually use cover and aim while also having superior numbers, which would put them at a distinct advantage over the Covenant, as from what I've seen in the games typically Covenant fighting tactics is to fire from the hip while standing in the open or rushing at the enemy.

Really depends on what type of Storm Troopers the Brutes are fighting. Overall though my bet is on the Empire winning the war.
